This research focuses on the Cattaneo-Christov theory of heat and mass flux for a three-dimensional Maxwell liquid towards a moving surface. An incompressible laminar flow with variable thermal conductivity is considered. The flow generation is due to the bidirectional stretching of sheet. The combined phenomenon of heat and mass transport is accounted. The Cattaneo-Christov model of heat and mass diffusion is used to develop the expressions of energy and mass species. The first-order chemical reaction term in the mass species equation is considered. The boundary layer assumptions lead to the governing mathematical model. The homotopic simulation is adopted to visualize the results of the dimensionless flow equations. The graphs of velocities, temperature, and concentration show the effects of different arising parameters. A numerical benchmark is presented to visualize the convergent values of the computed results. The results show that the concentration and temperature fields are decayed for the Cattaneo^Christov theory of heat and mass diffusion. 展开更多

A nanofluid comprises of nanoparticles of silver and copper. Water is used as a base fluid. Heat is being transferred with thermal radiation and the Joule heating. A system of ordinary differential equations is obtained by appropriate transformations. Convergent series solutions are obtained. Effects of various parameters are analyzed for the velocity and temperature. Numerical values of the skin friction coefficient and the Nusselt number are tabulated and examined. It can be seen that the radial velocity is affected in the same manner with both porous and local inertial parameters. A skin friction coefficient depicts the same impact on both disks for both nanofluids with larger stretching parameters. 展开更多

The analysis is performed in Cu-water and Ag-water nanofluids. Thermal radiation, viscous dissipation, and chemical reactions impacts are added in the nanofluid model. Appropriate transformations lead to the nondimensionalized boundary layer equations. Series solutions for the resulting equations are computed. The role of pertinent parameters on the velocity, temperature, and concentration is analyzed in the outputs. It is revealed that the larger melting parameter enhances the velocity profile while the temperature profile decreases. The surface drag force and heat transfer rate are computed under the influence of pertinent parameters. Furthermore, the homogeneous reaction parameter serves to decrease the surface concentration. 展开更多

Combined effects of Soret(thermal-diffusion) and Dufour(diffusion-thermo) in MHD stagnation point flow by a permeable stretching cylinder were studied. Analysis was examined in the presence of heat generation/absorption and chemical reaction. The laws of conservation of mass, momentum, energy and concentration are found to lead to the mathematical development of the problem. Suitable transformations were used to convert the nonlinear partial differential equations into the ordinary differential equations. The series solutions of boundary layer equations through momentum, energy and concentration equations were obtained.Convergence of the developed series solutions was discussed via plots and numerical values. The behaviors of different physical parameters on the velocity components, temperature and concentration were obtained. Numerical values of Nusselt number, skin friction and Sherwood number with different parameters were computed and analyzed. It is found that Dufour and Soret numbers result in the enhancement of temperature and concentration distributions, respectively. 展开更多

A numerical study is reported for two-dimensional flow of an incompressible Powell-Eyring fluid by stretching the surface with the Cattaneo-Christov model of heat diffusion. Impacts of heat generation/absorption and destructive/generative chemical reactions are considered. Use of proper variables leads to a system of non-linear dimensionless expressions. Velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are achieved through a finite difference based algorithm with a successive over-relaxation(SOR) method. Emerging dimensionless quantities are described with graphs and tables. The temperature and concentration profiles decay due to enhancement in fluid parameters and Deborah numbers. 展开更多

The flow is caused by a permeable exponentially stretching surface. An incompressible fluid fills the porous space. A comparative study is made for the nanoparticles namely Copper (Cu), Silver (Ag), Alumina (A1203) and Titanium Oxide (TiO2). Water is treated as a base fluid. Convective type boundary conditions are employed in modeling the heat transfer process. The non-linear partial differential equations governing the flow are reduced to an ordinary differential equation by similarity transformations. The obtained equations are then solved for the development of series solutions. Convergence of the obtained series solutions is explicitly discussed. The effects of different parameters on the velocity and temperature profiles are shown and analyzed through graphs. 展开更多

The developed differential equations are solved for homotopic solutions. It is observed that the velocity and the boundary layer thickness are decreasing functions of the couple stress fluid parameter. However, the temperature and surface heat transfer increase when the values of the couple stress fluid parameter increase. The flow is generated by a bidirectional stretching surface. The mathematical formulation is carried out through a boundary layer approach with the heat source/sink, the Brownian motion, and the thermophoresis effects. The newly developed boundary conditions requiring zero nanoparticle mass flux at the boundary are employed in the flow analysis for the Maxwell fluid. The governing nonlinear boundary layer equations through appropriate transformations are reduced to the coupled nonlin- ear ordinary differential system. The resulting nonlinear system is solved. Graphs are plotted to examine the effects of various interesting parameters on the non-dimensional velocities, temperature, and concentration fields. This article explores the boundary layer flow and heat transfer of a viscous nanofluid bounded by a hyperbolically stretching sheet. Effects of Brownian and thermophoretic diffusions on heat transfer and concentration of nanoparticles are given due attention. The resulting nonlinear problems are computed for analytic and numerical solutions. The effects of Brownian motion and thermophoretic property are found to increase the temperature of the medium and reduce the heat transfer rate. The thermophoretic property thus enriches the concentration while the Brownian motion reduces the concentration of the nanoparticles in the fluid. Opposite effects of these properties are observed on the Sherwood number. 展开更多

Nanofluids have attracted many scientists due to their remarkable thermophysical properties.Small percentage of nanoparticles when added to conventional fluid significantly enhances the heat transfer features.Sustainability and efficiency of nanomaterials have key role in the advancement of nanotechnology. This article analyzes the Hall,Ohmic heating and velocity slip effects on the peristalsis of nanofluid.Convective boundary conditions and heat generation/absorption are considered to facilitate the heat transfer characteristics.Governing equations for the peristaltic flow through a curved channel are derived in curvilinear coordinates. The equations are numerically solved under the assumption of long wavelength and small Reynold number. It has been observed that nanofluid enhances the heat transfer rate and reduces the fluid temperature.Hartman number and Hall parameter show reverse behavior in fluid motion and heat transfer characteristics. In the presence of velocity slip, the pressure gradient rapidly decreases and dominant effect is seen in narrow portion of channel. 展开更多

The magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) Falkner-Skan flow of the Maxwell fluid is studied. Suitable transform reduces the partial differential equation into a nonlinear three order boundary value problem over a semi-infinite interval. An efficient approach based on the rational Chebyshev collocation method is performed to find the solution to the proposed boundary value problem. The rational Chebyshev collocation method is equipped with the orthogonal rational Chebyshev function which solves the problem on the semi-infinite domain without truncating it to a finite domain. The obtained results are presented through the illustrative graphs and tables which demonstrate the affectivity, stability, and convergence of the rational Chebyshev collocation method. To check the accuracy of the obtained results, a numerical method is applied for solving the problem. The variations of various embedded parameters into the problem are examined. 展开更多
