The channel characteristics, including space-time correlation function(STCF), Doppler power spectral density(DPSD), level crossing rate(LCR) and average fade duration(AFD), are derived based on the single sphere reference model for a non-isotropic environment. The corresponding sum-of-sinusoids(SoS) simulation models including both the deterministic model and statistical model with finite scatterers are also proposed for practicable implementation. The simulation results illustrate that the simulation models well reproduce the channel characteristics of the single sphere reference model with sufficient simulation scatterers. And the statistical model has a better approximation of the reference model in comparison with the deterministic one when the simulation trials of the stochastic model are sufficient. The effects of the parameters such as flight height, moving direction and Rice factor on the characteristics are also studied.展开更多

摘要With the rapid deployment of high speed railway(HSR) worldwide, both safety operation and comfort experience can be desired to evolve into a future era of intelligent transportation system. To eliminate boredom and provide entertainment for passengers,an intranet for internal communications among passengers named as onboard social network system(SNS) is needed. In this paper, the latest progress in HSR network architectures and technology building blocks are discussed to enable the implementation of the SNS.Meanwhile, based on the device-to-device(D2 D) communication technology for proximal information interaction,SNS can be efficiently facilitated.A dynamic resource allocation algorithm is proposed to maximize the total utility of the onboard SNS,which is solved with the matching theory method.Simulation results verify the convergence and efficiency of the proposed algorithm.
摘要With the development of High-Speed Rail(HSR),countries and individual passengers alike have enjoyed far ranging benefits as a result-economic,social,environment and in added convenience. One of the important parts of HSR construction is the signaling system, where wireless communications play a key role in the transmission of train control data.Channel estimation has a significant impact on the quality of the wireless communication, however, whose performance is degraded due to the fast mobility of HSR.This paper focuses on the channel estimation technology in HSR.We first summarize the key challenges for HSR channel estimation, especially the Inter-Carrier Interference(ICI)faced by Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM)systems. Then we provide a comprehensive review of existing pilot-aided channel estimation schemes from three points:channel model, estimation algorithm, joint channel estimation and ICI mitigation schemes.Lastly,we present the challenges of channel estimation for the Orthogonal Time Frequency Space(OTFS)system and Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface(RIS),which are promising techniques for HSR systems in the future sixth Generation(6G)wireless communication.

摘要Terahertz(THz)communications are envisioned as a key technology for the sixth-generation wireless communication system(6G).However,it is not practical to perform large-scale channel measurements with high degrees of freedom at THz frequency band. This makes empirical or stochastic modeling approaches relying on measurements no longer stand. In order to break through the bottleneck of scarce fulldimensional channel sounding measurements, this paper presents a novel paradigm for THz channel modeling towards 6G.With the core of high-performance ray tracing(RT),the presented paradigm requires merely quite limited channel sounding to calibrate the geometry and material electromagnetic(EM)properties of the three-dimensional(3D)environment model in the target scenarios. Then, through extensive RT simulations, the parameters extracted from RT simulations can be fed into either ray-based novel stochastic channel models or cluster-based standard channel model families.Verified by RT simulations, these models can generate realistic channels that are valuable for the design and evaluation of THz systems.Representing two ends of 6G THz use cases from microscopy to macroscopy, case studies are made for close-proximity communications, wireless connections on a desktop, and smart rail mobility, respectively.Last but not least, new concerns on channel modeling resulting from distinguishing features of THz wave are discussed regarding propagation, antenna array, and device aspects, respectively.

摘要A more general narrowband regular-shaped geometry-based statistical model(RS-GBSM) combined with the line of sight(LoS) and single bounce(SB) rays for unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) channel is proposed in this paper. The effects of the parameters such as flight height, moving direction and Rice factor on the characteristics are also studied.
摘要A key challenge to the scalable deployment of the energy self-sustainability(ESS)Internet of Everything(IoE)for sixth-generation(6G)networks is juggling massive connectivity and high spectral efficiency(SE).Cell-free massive multiple-input multiple-output(CF mMIMO)is considered as a promising solution, where many wireless access points perform coherent signal processing to jointly serve the users. However, massive connectivity and high SE are difficult to obtain at the same time because of the limited pilot resource. To solve this problem,we propose a new framework for ESS IoE networks where the user activity detection(UAD)and channel estimation are decoupled.A UAD detector based on deep convolutional neural networks,an initial access scheme, and a scalable power control policy are proposed to enable the practical scalable CF mMIMO implementation. We derive novel and exact closed-form expressions of harvested energy and SE with maximum ratio(MR)processing.Using local partial minimum mean-square error and MR combining, simulation results prove that the proposed framework can serve more users, improve the SE performance, and achieve better user fairness for the considered ESS IoE networks.

摘要Integration of digital twin(DT)and wireless channel provides new solution of channel modeling and simulation, and can assist to design, optimize and evaluate intelligent wireless communication system and networks. With DT channel modeling, the generated channel data can be closer to realistic channel measurements without requiring a prior channel model, and amount of channel data can be significantly increased.Artificial intelligence(AI)based modeling approach shows outstanding performance to solve such problems. In this work,a channel modeling method based on generative adversarial networks is proposed for DT channel, which can generate identical statistical distribution with measured channel.Model validation is conducted by comparing DT channel characteristics with measurements, and results show that DT channel leads to fairly good agreement with measured channel. Finally,a link-layer simulation is implemented based on DT channel. It is found that the proposed DT channel model can be well used to conduct link-layer simulation and its performance is comparable to using measurement data. The observations and results can facilitate the development of DT channel modeling and provide new thoughts for DT channel applications,as well as improving the performance and reliability of intelligent communication networking.

摘要Wireless channel characteristics have significant impacts on channel modeling, estimation, and communication performance. While the channel sparsity is an important characteristic of wireless channels.Utilizing the sparse nature of wireless channels can reduce the complexity of channel modeling and estimation, and improve system design and performance analysis.Compared with the traditional sub6 GHz channel, millimeter wave(mmWave)channel has been considered to be more sparse in existing researches. However, most research only assume that the mmWave channel is sparse, without providing quantitative analysis and evaluation. Therefore, this paper evaluates the sparsity of mmWave channels based on mmWave channel measurements.A vector network analyzer(VNA)-based mmWave channel sounder is developed to measure the channel at 28 GHz,and multi-scenario channel measurements are conducted. The Gini index,Ricianfactor and rootmean-square(RMS)delay spread are used to measure channel sparsity. Then, the key factors affecting mmWave channel sparsity are explored. It is found that antenna steering direction and scattering environment will affect the sparsity of mmWave channel. In addition, the impact of channel sparsity on channel eigenvalue and capacity is evaluated and analyzed.
