Herein, we developed a novel composite, crab shell biochar modified siderite(SID@BC) for the simultaneous removal of As(Ⅲ) and Cu(Ⅱ). The results revealed that the incorporation of BC into the siderite(SID)significantly increased the adsorption sites and improved the electrochemical properties of SID@BC, thereby enhancing the adsorption capacity of SID@BC for As(Ⅲ) and Cu(Ⅱ), which was 1.3 and 4.2 times higher than that of SID, respectively. Notably, in the process of removing As(Ⅲ) and Cu(Ⅱ), co-existed Cu(Ⅱ) enhanced the transformation of iron phases from siderite to goethite and facilitated the Fe(Ⅱ)/Fe(Ⅲ) cycling. During this cycling process, Fe(Ⅲ) was reduced to Fe(Ⅱ), which subsequently reacted with oxygen to generate additional reactive oxygen species(ROS). Quenching experiments confirmed that O2·- and H2O2 were the key ROS responsible for the oxidation of As(Ⅲ) to As(V), which was more easily electrostatically attracted and complexed. Besides, BC enhanced the Cu(Ⅱ) adsorption performance of SID@BC through mineral precipitation and complexation, which further facilitated the participation of Cu(Ⅱ) in the Fe(Ⅱ)/Fe(Ⅲ) cycle, thereby promoting the ROS generation. These findings provided insight into developing an effective strategy for the simultaneous removal of As(Ⅲ) and Cu(Ⅱ) from wastewater.展开更多

Herein a biochar supported FeMnMg layered double hydroxide(LDH) composites(LB) for simultaneous remediation of copper and arsenic contamination in water and soil has been assembled by a facile co-precipitation approach. Both adsorption isotherm and kinetics studies of heavy metals removal by LB were applied to look into the adsorption performance of adsorbents in water. Moreover, the adsorption mechanisms of Cu and As by LB were investigated, showing that Cu in aqueous solution was removed by the isomorphic substitution, precipitation and electrostatic adsorption while As was removed by complexation. In addition, the availability of Cu and As in the soil incubation experiments was reduced by 35.54%–63.00% and 8.39%–29.04%, respectively by using LB. Meanwhile, the addition of LB increased the activities of urease and sucrase by 93.78%–374.35% and 84.35%–520.04%, respectively, of which 1% of the dosage was the best. A phenomenon was found that the richness and structure of microbial community became vigorous within 1% dosage of LB, which indirectly enhanced the passivation and stabilization of heavy metals. These results indicated that the soil environment was significantly improved by LB. This research demonstrates that LB would be an imaginably forceful material for the remediation of anionic and cationic heavy metals in contaminated water and soil.展开更多

COPD significantly affects people's health worldwide. With the development in nursing, CNSs are playing increasingly important roles in different departments. However, the studies on the effectiveness of CNSs in COPD are not as well organized as the studies on the effectiveness of CNSs in bronchiectasis and asthma. Therefore, this review aims to find some updated evidence on the CNS interventions for patients with COPD and on whether these interventions are effective. Methods: A narrative analysis of the data was performed for the eligible studies. Four databases were chosen: CINAHL, MEDLINE, British Nursing Index, and Cochrane Library. Other websites such as the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence, National Health Service Evidence, Association of Respiratory Nurse Specialists, and National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialist were searched as well. Two reviewers performed study identification independently, and all the retrieved articles were stored using the EndNote X7 software. The risk of bias in the included studies was assessed using the Cochrane Collaboration's risk of bias tool. Results: A total of nine studies were included in this review. There were five current interventions by CNSs for patients with COPD. These interventions were home nursing support, CNS]s supported discharge, multidisciplinary cooperation programs, nurse-led care programs, and self-care management education. The effectiveness of these five interventions was evaluated individually. There is low- to moderate-quality evidence indicating that home nursing support interventions may have a positive effect on mortality and quality of life. No significant difference in quality of life has been found between the CNS-supported discharge intervention and the usual service. An increase in degradation rate from 18.63% to49.76% in the first four days and its stabilization at(51.26 ± 0.08)% in the following days of BDE-47 incubation were observed. The presence of Cu2+ at 1 and 2 mg/L was found to promote the degradation rate to 56.41% and 60.79%, respectively, whereas higher level of Cu2+(≥ 5 mg/L) inhibited the removal of BDE-47. The similar concentration effects of Cu2+ was also found on contents of fungal protein and amounts of metabolites. Both intracellular and extracellular enzymes played certain roles in BDE-47 transportation with the best degradation rate at 27.90% and 27.67% on the fourth and third day, individually. During the degradation of BDE-47, four types of hydroxylated polybrominated diphenyl ethers(OH-PBDEs), i.e., 6′-OH-BDE-47, 5′-OH-BDE-47, 4′-OH-BDE-17, 2′-OH-BDE-28, and two bromophenols, i.e., 2,4-DBP and 4-BP were detected and considered as degradation products. These metabolites were further removed by P. sanguineus at rates of 22.42%,23.01%, 27.04%, 27.96%, 64.21%, and 40.62%, respectively.展开更多

The therapeutic effects of ROCK on nervous system diseases might be enhanced by COX-2 inhibitors. This study investigated the synergistic effect of the combined use of the ROCK inhibitor fasudil and a COX-2 inhibitor celecoxib on spinal cord injury in a rat model established by transecting the right half of the spinal cord at T11. Rat models were orally administrated with celecoxib(20 mg/kg) and/or intramuscularly with fasudil(10 mg/kg) for 2 weeks. Results demonstrated that the combined use of celecoxib and fasudil significantly decreased COX-2 and Rho kinase II expression surrounding the lesion site in rats with spinal cord injury, improved the pathomorphology of the injured spinal cord, and promoted the recovery of motor function. Moreover, the effects of the drug combination were better than celecoxib or fasudil alone. This study demonstrated that the combined use of fasudil and celecoxib synergistically enhanced the functional recovery of injured spinal cord in rats.展开更多

We found that these cells became tolerant to Rho-associated kinase inhibitors, as neurite outgrowth induced by these inhibitors diminished following more than 3 days of exposure in either cell line. The proteins cyclooxygenase-2 and cytosolic prostaglandin E synthetase were upregulated at day 3. NS398 decreased the tolerance to neurite outgrowth induction in both cell lines, whereas SC560 had almost no effect. These findings indicate that cells become tolerant to neurite outgrowth induced by Rho-associated kinase inhibitors, this is at least partly associated with upregulation of proteins involved in the cyclooxygenase-2 pathway, and cyclooxygenases-2 inhibition prevents this tolerance.展开更多

Methods: In this prospective randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, 80 patients were randomly assigned to one of four groups (n = 20). The FA group (group A) patients received FA before tracheal intubation and at the end of surgery. The tramadol group (group B) patients received tramadol before tracheal intubation and at the end of surgery. The control group (group C) patients received saline before tracheal intubation and at the end of surgery. The combination group (group D) patients received FA and tramadol before tracheal intubation and at the end of surgery. Cluster of differentiation and lymphocytes were measured. Results: The CD3, CD4, CD8 and lymphocytes decreased postoperatively of all groups except of group A and D at 0.5 h postoperatively (P < 0.05). The CD3, CD4, CD8 and lymphocytes of group D were higher than those of group C at 0.5 h and 4 h postoperatively (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Preemptive analgesia using flurbiprofen axetil (FA) and tramadol may protect the immune system. The immune protective effect of FA may be better than that of tramadol. The combination of FA and tramadol may be the most effective among all the strategies.展开更多

摘要Mine drainage frequently contained arsenite(As(Ⅲ)) and copper(Cu(Ⅱ)), posing significant threats to human health. These findings provided insight into developing an effective strategy for the simultaneous removal of As(Ⅲ) and Cu(Ⅱ) from wastewater.

摘要BACKGROUND Spinal cord injury(SCI)is a severe neurological condition characterized by limited treatment options and an unfavorable prognosis.Mesenchymal stem cell(MSC)-derived exosomes constitute a novel cell-free therapeutic modality;however, the underlying mechanisms, particularly the role of microRNAs(miRNAs),remain to be fully elucidated.AIM To determine whether MSC-derived exosomes facilitate functional recovery following SCI by regulating microglial polarization through the delivery of miR-181d-5p.METHODS In vitro, primary microglia stimulated with lipopolysaccharide were treated with characterized MSC-derived exosomes.Microglial polarization was assessed using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. In vivo,a rat model of SCI was administered exosomes, and functional recovery was evaluated using Basso,Beattie, and Bresnahan scoring, hematoxylin and eosin staining,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and immunofluorescence analysis.RESULTS MSC-derived exosomes displayed characteristic morphological features and surface markers. In lipopolysaccharide-activated microglia, exosome treatment resulted in a significant reduction in pro-inflammatory cytokines and an increase in anti-inflammatory factors, reflecting a shift from the M1 to the M2 microglial phenotype.Notably,miR-181d-5p was upregulated in microglia following exosome treatment.Downregulation of miR-181d-5p abolished the exosome-mediated effects on microglial polarization.Mechanistically,miR-181d-5p was identified to directly bind to the 3’untranslated regions of HMGA2 and HMGB2,thereby repressing their expression. In vivo, administration of MSC-exosomes improved locomotor recovery, reduced inflammatory cytokine levels, and modulated microglial/macrophage polarization,as evidenced by reduced CD86(M1 marker)and elevated CD206(M2 marker)expression at the lesion site.CONCLUSION MSC-derived exosomes attenuate neuroinflammation and promote functional recovery after SCI by delivering miR-181d-5p,which induces a beneficial microglial M2 polarization through targeting HMGA2 and HMGB2.These findings underscore the therapeutic promise of exosomal miR-181d-5p for SCI repair.

摘要Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs), typical representatives of the persistent organic pollutants(POPs), have become ubiquitous in the environment. In this study, a novel microbial consortium QY1 that performed outstanding PAHs-degrading capacity has been enriched. The degradation characteristics of single and mixed PAHs treated with QY1 were studied, and the effect of biochar on biodegradation of mixed PAHs and the potential of biochar in PAHs-heavy metal combined pollution bioremediation were also investigated. Results showed that, in single substrate system, QY1 degraded 94.5% of 500 mg/L phenanthrene(PHE) and 17.8% of 10 mg/L pyrene(PYR) after 7 days, while in PHE-PYR mixture system, the biodegradation efficiencies of PHE(500 mg/L) and PYR(10 mg/L) reached 94.0%and 96.2%, respectively, since PHE served as co-metabolic substrate to have significantly improved PYR biodegradation.Notably, with the cooperation of biochar, the biodegradations of PHE and PYR were greatly accelerated.Further, biochar could reduce the adverse impact of heavy metals(Cd2+, Cu2+, Cr2O72-) on PYR biodegradation remarkably. The sequencing analysis revealed that Methylobacterium, Burkholderia and Stenotrophomonas were the dominant genera of QY1 in almost all treatments, indicating that these genera might play key roles in PAHs biodegradation.Overall, this study provided new insights into the efficient bioremediation of PAHs-contaminated site.

摘要The degradation of 2,2′,4,4′-tetrabromodiphenyl ether(BDE-47) by Pycnoporus sanguineus was investigated in order to explore the impact of the heavy metal Cu2+ on BDE-47 decomposition and the subsequent formation of metabolites, as well as to further elucidate the degradation mechanism of BDE-47. These metabolites were further removed by P. sanguineus at rates of 22.42%,23.01%, 27.04%, 27.96%, 64.21%, and 40.62%, respectively.

摘要Resistance mechanisms of rho-associated kinase(ROCK) inhibitors are associated with the enhanced expression of cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2). This study demonstrated that the combined use of fasudil and celecoxib synergistically enhanced the functional recovery of injured spinal cord in rats.

摘要In this study, PC12 Adh cells and Neuro-2a cells were treated with Rho-associated kinase inhibitors (Y27632 and Fasudil), a cyclooxygenase-1 selective inhibitor (SC560), and a cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor (NS398). These findings indicate that cells become tolerant to neurite outgrowth induced by Rho-associated kinase inhibitors, this is at least partly associated with upregulation of proteins involved in the cyclooxygenase-2 pathway, and cyclooxygenases-2 inhibition prevents this tolerance.

摘要Objective: In this study, we evaluated the effect of preemptive analgesia of flurbiprofen axetil (FA) and tramadol on immune response in patients undergoing radical mastectomy. The combination of FA and tramadol may be the most effective among all the strategies.
