We investigate the origin of the very-high-energy(VHE;100 GeV)γ-ray emission from the low-synchrotronpeaked BL Lac object Ap Librae within the framework of a one-zone hadronuclear(pp)interaction model.Conventional leptonic and hadronic scenarios(including photohadronic processes and proton synchrotron emission)have encountered difficulties in reproducing the unusually broad GeV??TeV spectrum of this source without invoking extreme physical conditions.In this work,we construct a one-zone pp model that incorporates both leptonic and hadronuclear components and apply it to fit the multiwavelength spectral energy distribution of Ap Librae.Our results show that the optical-GeV emission can be well explained by leptonic emission from primary electrons,while the Te V emission is naturally accounted for byγ-rays from neutral pion decay in pp interactions.The required total jet power is found to be -1.8×1046erg·s-1,which corresponds to half of the Eddington luminosity of the central supermassive black hole.Compared with previous hadronic models that demand superEddington energetics,our approach provides a more physically reasonable explanation for the VHE spectrum of Ap Librae. 展开更多

In addition to neutrino event IceCube-170922 A which is observed to be associated with aγ-ray flare from blazar TXS 0506+056,there are also several neutrino events that may be associated with blazars.Among them,PKS B1424-418,GB6 J1040+0617 and PKS 1502+106 are low synchrotron peaked sources,which are usually believed to have the broad line region in the vicinity of the central black hole.They are considered as counterparts of IceCube event 35,IceCube-141209 A and IceCube-190730 A,respectively.By considering the proton-proton(pp)interactions between the dense gas clouds in the broad line region and the relativistic protons in the jet,we show that the pp model that is applied in this work can not only reproduce the multi-waveband spectral energy distribution but also suggest a considerable annual neutrino detection rate.We also discuss the emission from the photopion production and Bethe-Heitler pair production with a sub-Eddington jet power that is suggested in our model and find that it has little effect on the spectrum of total emission for all of three sources. 展开更多

We investigate the surface structure and electronic properties ofβ-Sn islands deposited on a graphitized 6 H-SiC(0001)substrate via low temperature scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy.Owing to the confinement of the island geometry,quantum well states(QWSs)are formed,manifesting as equidistant peaks in the tunneling spectra.Furthermore,a distinct strip feature appears on the surfaces of odd-layer Sn islands,ranging from 15-19 layers,which is not present on the surfaces of even-layer Sn islands.The spatial distribution of strips can be modified by applying a bias pulse,using an STM tip.Furthermore,the strip-like structure shows significant impacts on the QWS.An energy splitting of the lowest unoccupied QWSs is observed in strip regions;this may be ascribed to caused the phase shift of the wave functions of the QWSs on the top surface,due to surface distortions created by the aforementioned strips. 展开更多

It is well known that a flat radio spectrum is a common property in the spectral energy distribution of blazars.Although one-zone leptonic models are generally successful in explaining the multi-wave band emission,they are problematic in reproducing the radio spectrum.In the study of Mrk 421,one-zone models suggest that in order to avoid overproducing the radio flux,the minimum electron Lorentz factor should be larger than a few hundred at least,even considering the synchrotron self-absorption effect.This result suggests that the model predicted spectral index in the radio band of Mrk 421 should be-1/3.On the basis of this result,by assuming there is a neglected region that will also contribute the radio emission and its electron energy index naturally originates from the simplest first-order Fermi acceleration mechanism,we can get a superimposed flat radio spectrum.In this paper,a two-zone model is proposed to reproduce the quiescent state spectral energy distribution of Mrk 421.In addition to taking into account the emission from a conventional radiation zone,we further consider emission from the acceleration zone in which particles are accelerated at a shock front.With the present model,our fitting result suggests that the low frequency flat radio spectrum of Mrk 421 might be explained as a superposition of the synchrotron emission from acceleration zone and radiation zone. 展开更多

We report the discovery and characterization of PSR J1810–0623,a fully recycled millisecond pulsar with a spin period of 4.55 ms,discovered with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST)and followed up with FAST and the Green Bank Telescope(GBT).A phase-connected timing solution spanning over 6.5 years reveals a 15.4-day binary orbit with extremely low eccentricity(e≃1.5×10−5).Assuming a neutron-star mass of 1.4 M,the inferred companion median mass(∼0.64 M)is consistent with a carbon-oxygen white dwarf,indicating an evolutionary origin in an intermediate-mass X-ray binary.The system’s properties closely resemble those of other massive white dwarf binaries thought to form via Case A Roche lobe overflow,suggesting a prolonged accretion phase during which the neutron star was efficiently recycled.Polarimetric analysis of FAST data yields a moderate degree of linear polarization and a rotation measure of(86.6±0.6)rad m−2,offering constraints on the Galactic magnetic field.The inferred characteristic age(∼32 Gyr)and low surface magnetic field(∼108G)indicate a highly recycled pulsar.Proper-motion measurements imply a modest transverse velocity,consistent with those of recycled millisecond pulsars in the Galactic field.Although the proximity of the globular cluster Pal 7 raises the possibility of a dynamical origin,discrepancies in dispersion measure and proper motion argue against a physical association.PSR J1810–0623 adds to the rare class of long-orbital period MSP-CO WD systems and provides a valuable laboratory for studying pulsar recycling,binary evolution,and Galactic structure. 展开更多
