The SEM and XRD results reveal the formation of a new erbium zirconium oxide,Zr_3 Er_4 O12,with a granulate morphology when Er_2 O_3 content is higher than 1 wt%. The grain sizes of both Al_2 O_3 and yttria-stabilized zirconia phases decrease with an increase in the Er_2 O_3 content. The relative density, Vickers hardness and fracture toughness of the composites are found to be strongly dependent on their grain sizes, relative densities and the formation of the Zr_3 Er_4 O12 secondary phases. The composite with 5 wt% Er_2 O_3 shows the highest relative density(99.93%), Vickers hardness(1752 HV) and fracture toughness(7.92 MPa·m1/2).展开更多

Effects of sliding speed and pressure on the frictional characteristics of the composites and copper against brass are investigated and compared. The changes in morphology of the sliding surface and subsurface are examined with scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectrum (EDS). The results show that the wear resistance of the Al2O3/Cu composites is superior to that of copper under the same conditions, Under a given electrical current, the wear rate of Al2O3/Cu composites decreases as the Al2O3-content increases, However, the wear rates of the Al2O3/Cu composites and copper increase as the sliding speed and pressure increase under dry sliding condition. The main wear mechanisms for Al2O3/Cu composites are of abrasion and adhesion; for copper, it is adhesion, although wear by oxidation and electrical erosion can also be observed as the speed and pressure rise.展开更多

A derived coating material was produced for the application as microwave absorbers using the as prepared powders by atmospheric plasma spray (APS) technology. The effects of MoSi2/Al2O3 mass ratio on the dielectric and physical mechanical properties of the composite coatings were investigated. When the MoSi2 content of the composites increases from 0 to 45%, the flexure strength and fracture toughness improve from 198 to 324 MPa and 3.05 to 4.82 MPa-m1/2 then decline to 310 MPa and 4.67 MPa-m1/2, respectively. The dielectric loss tangent increases with increasing MoSi2 content, and the real part of permittivity decreases conversely over the frequency range of 8.2-12.4 GHz. These effects are due to the agglomeration of early molten MoSi2 particles and the increase of the electrical conductivity with increasing MoSi2 content.展开更多

The results show that with the increase of Al2O3 content the bands assigned to [SiO4] nearly disappear. Aluminum replaces silicon in the glass network, which is helpful for the formation of boron-oxygen rings. The increase of the transition temperature Tg and softening temperature Tf of PbO-B2O3-SiO2 glass ceramics leads to the increase of liquid phase precipitation temperature and promotes the structure stability in the glasses, and consequently contributes to the decreasing trend of crystallization. Densification and dielectric constants increase with the increase of Al2O3 content, but the dielectric loss is worsened. By contrast, the 3% (mass fraction) Al2O3-doped glass ceramics sintered at 725℃ have better properties of density p=2.72 g/cm3, dielectric constant Er=6.78, dielectric loss tan8=2.6×10^-3 (measured at 9.8 GHz), which suggest that the glass ceramics can be applied in multilayer microwave devices requiring low sintering temperatures.展开更多

The microstructure and phase composition of the coating were investigated by SEM and XRD.: The results show that adding an appropriate amount of yttrium ion can improve the growing rate of ceramic coating at different oxidation stages and decrease arc voltage. The thickness of ZrO2-Y2O3 coating is 16 μn thicker than that of ZrO2 coating and the maximum oxidation rate improves by 0.6 μm/min. In addition, the arc voltage decreases from 227 to 172 V. It can be seen that the rate of oxidation firstly increases to some extent and then decreases with the content of yttrium ion increasing. The growth rate reaches the maximum while the content of yttrium ion is 0.05 g-L-1The maximum thickness is 90 μm.Compared to ZrO2 coating, the micropores of ZrO2-Y2O3 coating are less and the ceramic layer is repeatedly deposited by ZrO2 and Y2O3 ceramic particles. Meanwhile, the binding force between coating and substrate is better and the coating is uniform and compact. The ceramic layer is mainly composed of c-Y0.15Zr0.85O1.93□0.07, m-ZrO2, α-Al2O3, ,γ-Al2O3 and Y2O3. It is indicated that ZrO2 has beert fully stabilized by yttrium ion through the formation of solid solution.展开更多

The results show that both the UTS and the hardness are improved and the impact toughness is decreased with the increase of the volume fraction of fibers (Vf). After Ce is added ,UTS (Vf>15%) and the hardness are improved at room temperature because of the modification of Ce, but the impact toughness and UTS at elevated temperature are lowered. The filtered action of the fiber preform results in that the influence of the amount of Ce added from 0. 1 wt% to 0. 5 wt% on the mechanical properties of the composites can be ignored.展开更多

The microstructures and shapes vary with the TiB2+Al2O3 content in the NiAl matrix. TiB2 particles take a great variety of elementary shapes such as white bars, plates, herringbones, regular cubes and cuboids. These results outline a strategy of self-assembly processes in real time to build diversified microstructures. Some TiB2 grains in sizes of 2-5μm are embeded in Al2O3 clusters, while a small number of TiB2 particles disperse in the NiAl matrix. 摘要Yttrium aluminum perovskite(YAl O3)is a promising candidate material for environmental barrier coatings(EBCs)to protect Al2 O3 f/Al2 O3 ceramic matrix composites(CMCs)from the corrosion of high-temperature water vapor in combustion environments.Nevertheless, the relatively high thermal conductivity is a notable drawback of YAl O3 for environmental barrier coating application.Herein,in order to make REAl O3 more thermal insulating,a novel high-entropy rare-earth aluminate ceramic(Y0.2Nd0.2Sm0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)AlO3 was designed and synthesized. The as-prepared(Y0.2Nd0.2Sm0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)AlO3 ceramic possesses close thermal expansion coefficient(9.02×10-6/oC measured from room temperature to 1200℃)to that of Al2 O3.The thermal conductivity of(Y0.2Nd0.2Sm0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)AlO3 at room temperature is 4.1 W·m-1K-1,which is almost one third of the value of YAl O3.Furthermore,to effectively prevent the penetration of water vapor from possible pores/cracks of coating layer, which are often observed in T/EBCs,a tri-layer EBC system REAl O3/RE3 Al5 O12/(Al2 O3 f/Al2 O3 CMCs)is designed.Close thermal expansion coefficient to Al2 O3 and low thermal conductivity of(Y0.2Nd0.2Sm0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)AlO3,as well as the formation of dense garnet layer at(Y0.2Nd0.2Sm0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)AlO3/Al2 O3 interface, indicate that this new type of high-entropy ceramic is suitable as a candidate environmental barrier coating material for Al2 O3 f/Al2 O3 CMCs.

摘要The influence of Er_2 O_3 addition on the phase evolution and mechanical properties of sintered(1600 ℃,4 h) ZTA(yttria stabilized zirconia toughened alumina)-TiO_2 composites was investigated. The composite with 5 wt% Er_2 O_3 shows the highest relative density(99.93%), Vickers hardness(1752 HV) and fracture toughness(7.92 MPa·m1/2).

摘要Two Al2O3/Cu composites containing 0.24 wt.% Al2O3 and 0.60 wt.% Al2O3 separately are prepared by internal oxidation. The main wear mechanisms for Al2O3/Cu composites are of abrasion and adhesion; for copper, it is adhesion, although wear by oxidation and electrical erosion can also be observed as the speed and pressure rise.

摘要Molybdenum disilicide (MoSi2) sheath and aluminum oxide (Al2O3) core blended powders were fabricated by spray drying. These effects are due to the agglomeration of early molten MoSi2 particles and the increase of the electrical conductivity with increasing MoSi2 content.

摘要The effects of hot extrusion and addition of Al2O3p on both microstructure and tribological behavior of 7075 composites were investigated via optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive spectrometry(EDS),and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The experimental consequences reveal that the optimal addition of Al2O3p was 2 wt%.After hot extrusion, the Mg(Zn,Cu,Al)2 phases partially dissolve into the matrix and generate many uniformly distributed aging precipitation particles, the Al7Cu2Fe phases are squeezed and broken, and the Al2O3p become uniform distribution. The microhardness of as-extruded 2 wt%Al2O3p/7075 composites reaches HV 170.34,increased by 41.5%than as-cast composites. The wear rate of as-extruded 2 wt%Al2O3p/7075 composites is further lower than that of as-cast composites under the same condition.SEM-EDS analyses reveal that the reinforced wear resistance of composites can put down to the protective effect of the Al2O3p reinforced transition layer. After hot extrusion, the transition layer becomes stable, which determines the reinforced wear resistance of the as-extruded composites.

摘要The effects of Al2O3 addition on both the sintering behavior and microwave dielectric properties of PbO-B203-SiO2 glass ceramics were investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscope (FTIR), differential thermal analysis (DTA), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). By contrast, the 3% (mass fraction) Al2O3-doped glass ceramics sintered at 725℃ have better properties of density p=2.72 g/cm3, dielectric constant Er=6.78, dielectric loss tan8=2.6×10^-3 (measured at 9.8 GHz), which suggest that the glass ceramics can be applied in multilayer microwave devices requiring low sintering temperatures.

摘要ZrO2-Y2O3 ceramic coating was produced by plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) on ZAlSil2Cu3Ni2 alloy. It is indicated that ZrO2 has beert fully stabilized by yttrium ion through the formation of solid solution.

摘要To improve the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of magnesium alloys, a 5 kW continuous wave CO2 laser was used to investigate the laser surface cladding on AZ31 B magnesium alloys with Al-Si/Al2O3-TiO2 composite powders. A detailed microstructure, chemical composition, and phase analysis of the composite coatings were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The laser cladding shows good metallurgical bonding with the substrate. The composite coatings are composed of Mgl7Al12, Al3Mg2, Mg2Si, Al2O3, and TiO2 phases. Compared to the average microhardness (50HV0.05) of the AZ3 1 B substrate, that of the composite coatings (230HV0.05) is improved significantly. The wear resistances of the surface layers were evaluated in detail. The results demonstrate that the wear resistances of the laser surface-modified samples are considerably improved compared to the substrate. It also show that the composite coatings exhibit better corrosion resistance than that of the substrate in 3.5wt% NaCI solution.
摘要ZA22/Al2O3 composites were prepared by means of squeeze casting process. The effects of Ce on the ultimate tensile strength (UTS), impact toughness, and hardness of the composites were studied. The filtered action of the fiber preform results in that the influence of the amount of Ce added from 0. 1 wt% to 0. 5 wt% on the mechanical properties of the composites can be ignored.

摘要(TiB2+Al2O3)/NiAl composites were synthesized by self-propagation high-temperature synthesis, and their phase compositions, microstructures and evolution modes were studied. It is believed that the higher the TiB2+Al2O3 content is, the more the regular shapes and homogeneous distributions of TiB2 and Al2O3 will be present in the NiAl matrix.

摘要Directionally solidified eutectic ceramics such as Al2O3/ZrO2 are promising structural materials for ap- plications in harsh environment with an ultrahigh temperature. In this work, through adopting assistant heating laser 3D printing, Al2O3/ZrO2 eutectic samples were manufactured with suppressing the forma- tion of cracks. The dependence of the average rod spacing (λav) on the scanning rate (V) follows a relation with λavV0.5 = 1 μm1.5 s^-0.5. Typical eutectic microstructures, so-called complex regular, were analyzed with respect to its evolution with modulating the growth conditions. Formation mechanism of the solidifi- cation defect, shrinkage porosity, was discussed and the defect is found to be significantly suppressed by optimizing the solidification parameters. The maximum hardness and fracture toughness are mea- sured to he 16.7 GPa and 4.5 MPa m1/2, respectively. The interplay between the propagation of cracks and the Al2O3/ZrO2 interface is discussed.
