A series of CeO2–ZrO2–WO3(CZW)catalysts prepared by a hydrothermal synthesis method showed excellent catalytic activity for selective catalytic reduction(SCR)of NO with NH3 over a wide temperature of 150–550℃.The effect of hydrothermal treatment of CZW catalysts on SCR activity was investigated in the presence of 10% H2O.The fresh catalyst showed above 90% NOx conversion at 201–459℃,which is applicable to diesel exhaust NOx purification(200–440℃).The SCR activity results indicated that hydrothermal aging decreased the SCR activity of CZW at low temperatures(below 300℃),while the activity was notably enhanced at high temperature(above 450℃).The aged CZW catalyst(hydrothermal aging at 700℃ for 8 hr)showed almost 80% NOx conversion at 229–550℃,while the V2O5–WO3/TiO2 catalyst presented above 80% NOx conversion at 308–370℃.The effect of structural changes,acidity,and redox properties of CZW on the SCR activity was investigated.The results indicated that the excellent hydrothermal stability of CZW was mainly due to the CeO2–ZrO2 solid solution,amorphous WO3 phase and optimal acidity.In addition,the formation of WO3 clusters increased in size as the hydrothermal aging temperature increased,resulting in the collapse of structure,which could further affect the acidity and redox properties. 展开更多

A series of CeO2-ZrO2-WO3 catalysts for the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO with NH3 were prepared by hydrothermal method. The influence of calcination temperature on the catalytic activity, microstructure, surface acidity and redox behavior of CeO2-ZrO2-WO3 catalyst was investigated using various characterization methods. It was found that the CeO2-ZrO2-WO3 catalyst calcined at 600 ℃ showed the best catalytic performance and excellent N2 selectivity, and yielded more than 90% NO conversion in a wide temperature range of 250-500 ℃ with a space velocity (GHSV) of 60000 131. As the calcination temperature was increased from 400 to 600 ℃, the NO conversion obviously increased, but decreased at higher calcination temperature. The results implied that the higher surface area, the strongest synergistic interaction, the superior redox property and the highly dispersed or amorphous WO3 species contributed to the excellent SCR activity of the CeO2-ZrO2-WO3 catalyst calcined at 600℃. 展开更多

CeW-based catalysts with W species in different states,i.e.,a CeW oxide with only crystalline WO3(CeW-C)and a CeW oxide with monomeric W species(CeW-M),were prepared by a simple coprecipitation method through changing the mixing time during preparation.SO2was found to exert a positive effect on NH3-SCR at high temperatures,and CeW-C exhibited higher resistance toward SO2poisoning.CeW-M with monomericWexhibited higher activity above 200°C in the absence of SO2than CeW-C with crystalline WO3due to the higher dispersion of W and the resulting increased number of acid sites for NH3adsorption.CeW-C with crystalline WO3possessed a higher amount of reducible oxygen species,leading to greater NO and SO2adsorption,as well as causing higher activity below 200℃in the absence of SO2.In the presence of SO2,NH3adsorption was promoted by forming(NH 4)2 SO 4 or NH4HSO4,which could react with NO to form N2and H2O on CeW-C.Having a large amount of NH3adsorption was important for high NH3-SCR activity on these Ce-W oxides,and SO2exerted a positive effect on NH3-SCR by promoting NH3adsorption at high temperatures.Additionally,more nitrates remained on CeW-C with crystalline WO3in the presence of SO2.The reasons above led to better SO2resistance for CeW-C.The different states of W species affect the NH3-SCR activity and ability to resist SO2and H2O poisoning by changing the redox properties,number of acid sites,and adsorption of NO,NH3and SO2. 展开更多

The influence of tungsten trioxide(WO3)loading on the selective catalytic reduction(SCR)of nitric oxide(NO)by ammonia(NH3)over WO3/cerium dioxide(CeO2)was investigated.The NO conversion first rose and then declined with increasing WO3loading.It was found that the crystalline WO3in the1.6WO3/CeO2sample could be removed in25wt%ammonium hydroxide at70°C,which improved the catalytic activity of the sample.The obtained samples were characterized by X‐ray diffraction,Raman spectroscopy,X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy,hydrogen(H2)temperature programmed reduction,NH3temperature programmed desorption,and in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy.The results revealed that the dispersed WO3promoted the catalytic activity of WO3/CeO2while the crystalline WO3inhibited catalytic activity.The oxygen activation of CeO2was inhibited by the coverage of WO3,which weakened NO oxidation and adsorption of nitrate species over WO3/CeO2.In addition,the NH3adsorption performance on CeO2was improved by modification with WO3.NH3was the most stable adsorbed species under NH3SCR reaction conditions.In situ DRIFT spectra suggested that the NH3SCR reaction proceeded via the Eley‐Rideal mechanism over WO3/CeO2.Thus,when the loading of WO3was close to the dispersion capacity,the effects of NH3adsorption and activation were maximized to promote the reaction via the Eley‐Rideal route. 展开更多

A series of praseodymium added CeO2(ZrO2)/TiO2 catalysts separately prepared by methods of sol-gel and impregnation were tested for selective catalytic reduction of NO, and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2-brumauer-emmett-teller (N2-BET), NH3-temperature programmed desorption (NH3-TPD), H2-temperature programmed reduction (H2-TPR), PL spectra, Ra-man spectra, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), respectively. Influence of prepara-tion method on catalytic performance was studied. Results showed that the influence of Pr addition on catalytic performance of the CeO2(ZrO2)/TiO2 catalysts was different between the sol-gel method and the impregnation method. The Pr addition tended to interact with TiO2 and formed the structure of Ti-O-Pr in the sol-gel method while it was more likely to interact with CeO2 forming the struc-ture of Ce-O-Pr in the impregnation method. The total acid amount and redox properties of the catalysts prepared by sol-gel method decreased with the addition of Pr element, which resulted in decrease of catalytic activity. In contrast, the Pr-added catalyst prepared by impregnation method was found to possess easier reducibility, more total acid amount and higher proportion of Ce3+ species, which was favourable for higher catalytic activity. 展开更多

A series CeO2(ZrO2)/TiO2 catalysts were modified with Er using a sol-gel method.The catalytic activity of the obtained catalysts in the selective catalytic reduction(SCR) of NO with NH3 was investigated to determine the appropriate Er dosage.The catalysts were characterized using X-ray diffraction,N2 adsorption,NH3 temperature-programmed desorption,H2 temperature-programmed reduction,photoluminescence spectroscopy,electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.The results showed that the optimum Er/Ce molar ratio was 0.10;this catalyst had excellent resistance to catalyst poisoning caused by vapor and sulfur and gave more than 90% NO conversion at 220–395 ℃ and a gas hourly space velocity of 71 400 h^-1.Er incorporation increased the Ti^3+ concentrations,oxygen storage capacities,and oxygen vacancy concentrations of the catalysts,resulting in excellent catalytic performance.Er incorporation also decreased the acid strength and inhibited growth of TiO2 and CeO2 crystal particles,which increased the catalytic activity.The results show that high oxygen vacancy concentrations and oxygen storage capacities,large amounts of Ti^3+,and low acid strengths give excellent SCR activity. 展开更多

Two-step steam reforming of methane (SRM) is a novel chemical looping process towards the production of pure hydrogen and syngas (synthesis gas), consisting of a syngas production step and a water-splitting step. Renewable energy can be used to drive this process for hydrogen production, especially solar energy. CeO2-Fe2O3 complex oxide oxygen carrier was prepared by the impregnation method and characterized by means of X-ray diffractometer (XRD), Raman spectroscopy (Raman) and hydrogen programmed reduction (H2-TPR). CH4 temperature programmed and isothermal reactions were adopted to test syngas production reactivity, and water splitting reaction was employed to investigate water-splitting activity. Moreover, two-step SRM performance was evaluated by a successive redox cycle. The results showed that CO-uncontaminated H2 and highly selective syngas (with H2/CO ratio close to 2) could be respectively obtained from two steps, and CeFeO3 formation was found in the first redox cycle and proved to be enhanced by the redox treatment. After 10 successive cycles, obvious CeFeO3 phase was detected, which may be responsible for favorable successive redox cycle performances. 展开更多

The binary composite photo-catalysts CeO2/ZiO2, ZrO2/ZiO2 and the ternary composite photo-catalysts H3PW12040-CeO2/TiO2, H3PW12O40-ZrO2/TiO2 were prepared by sol-gel method. The catalysts were characterized by thermogravimetric-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The photocatalytic elimination of methanol was used as model reaction to evaluate the photocatalytic activity of the composite catalysts under ultraviolet light irradiation. The effects of doped content, activation temperature, time, initial concentration of methanol and gas flow rate on the catalytic activity were investigated. The results showed that after doping a certain amount of CeO2 and ZrO2, crystallization process of TiO2 was restrained, particles of catalysts are smaller and more uniform. Doping ZrO2 not only significantly improved the catalytic activity, but also increased thermal stability. Doping H3PW12O40 alSO enhanced the catalytic activity. The catalytic activities of binary and ternary composite photocatalysts were significantly higher than un-doped TiO2. The dynamics law of photocatalytic reaction over the binary CeO2/TiO2 and ZrO2/TiO2 catalysts has been studied. The activation energy 15.627 and 15.631 kJ/mol and pre-exponential factors 0.5176 and 0.9899 s^-1 over each corresponding catalyst were obtained. Ce-Zr-Al-Nd2O3 (CZAN) support materials were prepared by co-precipitation and impregnation methods, respectively. They were characterized by X-ray diffTaction (XRD), low temperature nitrogen adsorption-desorption, oxygen pulsing technique, H2-temperamre programmed reduction (H2-TPR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The Pd-only three-way catalysts (Pd-TWC) supported on these materials were prepared by incipient wetness method and studied by activity tests. The results demonstrated that the CZAN supports obtained by the two methods showed better structural, textural and redox properties than the CZA without Nd2O3, and the addition of Nd203 improved the catalytic activity of TWC. Especially, the CZAN-i support prepared by impregnation method had better thermal stability and redox property. Meanwhile, the Pd/CZAN-i catalyst exhibited the best catalytic performance. XPS measurements indicated that the Nd-modified samples possessed more Ce3+ and oxygen vacancies on the surface of samples, which led to a better redox property. The excellent redox property of support materials helped to improve the catalytic activity of TWC. 展开更多
