In the scheme, the trapped ion is driven by two laser beams with different frequencies tuned to the first lower and upper vibrational sidebands, respectively. Unlike other previous scheme, our scheme does not require the displacement of the external state before the ion-laser interaction and thus our scheme night be more simple and feasible. We propose a way to measure the strength of quantum nonlocal correlation (QNC) based on the characteristic function, which is defined as a response function under the local quantum measurement in a composite system. It is found that the strength of QNC based on the characteristic function is a half-positive-definite function and does not change under any LU operation. Generally, we give a new definition for quantum entanglement using the strength function. Furthermore, we also give a separability-criterion for 2×m-dimensional mixed real matrix. We propose a nonparametric change point estimator in the distributions of a sequence of independent observations in terms of the test statistics given by Huˇskov′a and Meintanis(2006) that are based on weighted empirical characteristic functions. The weight function ω(t; a) under consideration includes the two weight functions from Huˇskov′a and Meintanis(2006) plus the weight function used by Matteson and James(2014),where a is a tuning parameter. Under the local alternative hypothesis, we establish the consistency, convergence rate, and asymptotic distribution of this change point estimator which is the maxima of a two-side Brownian motion with a drift. Since the performance of the change point estimator depends on a in use, we thus propose an algorithm for choosing an appropriate value of a, denoted by a_s which is also justified. Our simulation study shows that the change point estimate obtained by using a_s has a satisfactory performance. We also apply our method to a real dataset. 展开更多

In order to study the differences in algae species and their biomass in water bodies in a region, three reservoirs and two lakes at the center of Guanzhong Plain were chosen to identify algae functional groups, measure biomass, and assess water quality, from January2013 to December 2014. The water bodies represented different trophic levels: one oligotrophic, three mesotrophic, and one eutrophic. Based on the Reynolds’ functional groups, they had 10 groups in common—B, P, D, X1, M, MP, F, S1, J, and G, but the algae biomasses and proportions were different. In the oligotrophic reservoir, functional group B reached a peak biomass of 576 × 104 L-1, which accounted for 31.27%. In the eutrophic lake,functional group D reached a peak biomass of 3227 × 104 L-1, which accounted for only13.38%. When samples collected from other water bodies with similar trophic levels were compared, we found differences in the algae species functional groups. The potential reasons for the differences in algae functional group characteristics in the different water bodies in the region were water temperature and nutritional states. 展开更多

In order to make reconfigurable manufacturing system (RMS) adapt to the fluctuations of production demand with the minimum number of reconflgurations in its full life cycle, we presented a method to design RMS based on the balanced distribution of functional characteristics for ma- chines. With this method, functional characteristics were classified based on machining functions of cutting-tools and machining accuracy of machines. Then the optimization objective was set as the to- tal shortest mobile distance that all the workpieces are moved from one machine to another, and an improved genetic algorithm (GA) was proposed to optimize the configuration. The elitist strategy was used to enhance the global optimization ability of GA, and excellent gene pool was designed to maintain the diversity of population. Software Matlab was used to realize the algorithm, and a case study of simulation was used to evaluate the method. 展开更多

Both schemes fall intothe framework of transformations of the form where the F iare given numbers (forexample, at the initial step they coincide with the values of the function on a given lattice), and the coefficients (x) are linear polynomials valued in x and x is fixed. A general theory for such sequence of transformations can be found in [2] where it is also proved that these tranformations are completely characterized in term of a linear functional, reference functional. The multilevel characteristic basis function method(MLCBFM)with the adaptive cross approximation(ACA)algorithm for accelerated solution of electrically large scattering problems is studied in this paper.In the conventional MLCBFM based on Foldy-Lax multiple scattering equations,the improvement is only made in the generation of characteristic basis functions(CBFs).However,it does not provide a change in impedance matrix filling and reducing matrix calculation procedure,which is time-consuming.In reality,all the impedance and reduced matrix of each level of the MLCBFM have low-rank property and can be calculated efficiently.Therefore,ACA is used for the efficient generation of two-level CBFs and the fast calculation of reduced matrix in this study.Numerical results are given to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the method. 展开更多

Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen(EPR)steering is an important resource for one-sided device-independent quantum information processing.This steering property can be destroyed by the interaction between a quantum system and its environment in practical applications.In this paper,we employ the characteristic function representation of probability distributions to investigate the quantum steering of two-mode continuous-variable states in a laser channel,where both the gain factor and the loss effect are taken into account.Firstly,we analyse the steering time of the two-mode squeezed vacuum state under one-mode and two-mode laser channels,respectively.We find that the gain process introduces additional noise into the two-mode squeezed vacuum state,thereby reducing the steerable time.Secondly,by quantifying EPR steering,we show that two-side loss exhibits smaller steerability than one-side loss,although they share the same two-way steerable time.In addition,we find that the more-gained party can steer the other party’s state,whereas the other party cannot steer the gained party beyond a certain threshold value.In this sense,the gain effect in one party appears to be equivalent to the loss effect in the other party.Our results pave the way for the distillation of EPR steering and quantum information processing in practical quantum channels. 展开更多
