With the development of Hainan Province and the progress of the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port(FTP),the modern industrial colleges in application-oriented universities have been the essential carriers of the integration of education and industry.A nested mixed-methods design based on Triple Helix and resource dependence theories is used to survey 578 participants from five modern industrial colleges in Hainan.The study explores the influences of policy support and the cooperation of education and industry on talent cultivation quality and social service ability with curriculum adaptability and the share of dual-qualification teachers as mediators.The findings show that both policy support and the deep cooperation between universities and industries significantly enhance the quality of talent cultivation.Curriculum adaptability partially mediated the link between policy support and talent quality.A larger proportion of dual-qualification teachers is linked to stronger social service capacity,partly through better talent quality.The success of modern industrial colleges depends not only on policy benefits but also on building genuine shared-interest communities between industry and universities and on flexible curriculumupdating mechanisms. 展开更多

Happy education,as an educational philosophy focusing on students’emotional experiences and individual development,its integration into classroom teaching in higher vocational colleges represents a crucial approach to alleviating students’psychological stress and enhancing their mental health.This paper systematically reviews relevant research literature both domestically and internationally,covering aspects such as the core connotations of happy education,the current state of mental health among students in higher vocational colleges,the mechanisms through which happy education integrated into classroom teaching affects students’mental health,the current status of practical applications,and existing issues.The study finds that mental health issues among students in higher vocational colleges are becoming increasingly prominent.Happy education positively influences students’mental health through mechanisms such as creating a positive classroom atmosphere,strengthening interpersonal interactions,and enhancing self-identity.However,in practice,there are still issues such as deviations in the implementation of the concept,homogenization of instructional design,and inadequate evaluation systems.Based on this,future efforts should focus on further deepening theoretical research,optimizing practical approaches,and constructing a collaborative support system to provide references for the effective implementation of happy education in higher vocational colleges and the improvement of students’mental health levels. 展开更多

Based on fsQCA and multi-case tracking data from 15 private colleges and universities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area(GBA),this study explores the generation mechanism of educational confidence in private colleges and universities under the dual tension of market logic and public welfare logic.The empirical results show that:(1)The formation of educational confidence presents three differentiated paths:mechanism synergy(synergy between resource coordination support and industry relevance),market-responsive(dynamic matching between spatial embedding and industrial resources),and ecologically symbiotic(coupling of three elements:institution-resource-space).Among them,the critical value of industry relevance(0.7)has a significant impact on the improvement of educational confidence(β=0.42,P<0.01);(2)Private colleges and universities realize the transformation of development paradigm by constructing a three-dimensional mechanism of“resource reciprocity-spatial coordination-institutional innovation,”and typical cases show that the employment rate of their graduates in the GBA has increased by 28%;(3)Cross-border industry-university-research cooperation enhances the institutional legitimacy of educational confidence through the knowledge transfer effect(path coefficient 0.67).The study proposes suggestions such as constructing a GBA-characteristic industry-education integration evaluation system,providing a theoretical reference for the governance of private higher education. 展开更多

Currently,the student body in higher vocational colleges presents a diverse picture,and the traditional ideological and political education model is facing the predicament of weakened effectiveness.Although online ideological and political education is regarded as a key solution,most of the practices still remain at the technical tool level and have not yet touched upon the deep transformation of the educational logic.From the perspective of mechanism operation,this paper diagnoses the inherent deficiencies of current online ideological and political education in higher vocational colleges in four dimensions:motivation,operation,collaboration,and guarantee,and constructs an innovative framework with“data intelligence,platform integration,teacher-student symbiosis,and system collaboration”as its pillars.On this basis,it further proposes a transformation path from“technical embedding”to“value symbiosis,”emphasizing that the core of online ideological and political education does not lie in the change of media,but in the deep reconstruction of educational relationships.Empirical research shows that this framework helps to achieve differentiated allocation of educational resources and the steady improvement of educational process efficiency,providing theoretical and practical references for building a higher vocational online ideological and political education system that is in line with the diverse characteristics of the student body. 展开更多

The integration of Medical English courses in higher vocational colleges is a crucial approach to enhancing medical students' comprehensive clinical competence. Based on the current challenges associated with students' inadequate ability to apply medical terminology, this paper analyzes the bidirectional interaction between clinical courses and English proficiency and reviews the implementation and outcomes of integrated teaching practices both inside and outside the classroom. The major factors constraining the effectiveness of curriculum integration include insufficient articulation between English and clinical curricula, inadequate interdisciplinary competence among teaching staff, disparities in students' English proficiency, limited teaching resources, and an overreliance on single-dimensional assessment methods. Accordingly, this study proposes several reform strategies, including the establishment of a hierarchical and progressive curriculum system, strengthening interdisciplinary faculty development, implementing task-based and situational teaching approaches, developing school-based practical teaching materials, and improving diversified assessment systems. These measures aim to achieve the deep integration of professional medical education and language education, thereby providing practical references for the reform of Medical English teaching in higher vocational colleges. 展开更多

With the technical advantages of non-contact collection, high-precision identification, and real-time data analysis, AI visual motion capture creates new possibilities for the innovation of physical education in higher vocational colleges and lays a foundation for constructing career-oriented personalized training programs. Teachers can build career-oriented personalized physical training programs relying on this technology, completely breaking the limitations of traditional training and realizing the transformation of physical training from “unified and extensive mode” to “targeted and personalized mode,” and from general physical fitness training to career-specific physical training. It helps physical education in higher vocational colleges truly serve students’ professional competence development. Background Recovery colleges (RCs) support personal recovery through education, skill development and social support for people with mental health problems, carers and staff. Background Recovery colleges (RCs) support personal recovery through education, skill development and social support for people with mental health problems, carers and staff. Guided by co-production and adult learning principles, RCs represent a recent mental health innovation. Since the first RC opened in England in 2009, RCs have expanded to 28 countries and territories. However, most RC research has been conducted in Western countries with similar cultural characteristics, limiting understanding of how RCs can be culturally adapted. The 12-item Recovery Colleges Characterisation and Testing (RECOLLECT) Fidelity Measure (RFM) evaluates the operational fidelity of RCs based on 12 components, but cultural influences on these components remain underexplored.Aims To assess associations between Hofstede’s cultural dimensions and RFM items to identify cultural influences on fidelity components.Methods A cross-sectional survey of RC managers was conducted across all 221 RCs. Mixed-effects regression models examined associations between Hofstede’s country-level cultural dimensions and item-level RFM scores, adjusted for healthcare expenditure and income inequality. Four cultural dimensions, obtained from Hofstede, were analysed: individualism (prioritising personal needs), indulgence (enjoyment-oriented), uncertainty avoidance (preference for predictability) and long-term orientation (future-focused).Results The RFM was completed by 169 (76%) RC managers. Seven RFM items showed associations with cultural dimensions. Equality was linked to short-term orientation, while learning was associated with individualism and uncertainty avoidance. Both individualism and indulgence influenced co-production and community focus. Commitment to recovery was shaped by all four cultural dimensions, with the strongest associations seen for individualism and indulgence. Individualism enhanced explicit focus on strengths-based practice, while uncertainty avoidance influenced course distinctiveness.Conclusions This study demonstrates how culture shapes RC fidelity components, providing actionable insights for cultural adaptation. Incorporating under-represented dimensions, such as collectivism and restraint, could improve the RFM’s global applicability, facilitating implementation. Future research should explore cultural nuances, engage diverse stakeholders and refine fidelity measures to enhance RC inclusivity and effectiveness worldwide. 展开更多

This study focuses on 14 higher vocational colleges in Hainan Province.By collecting data from five dimensions-academic papers,research projects,patents,teacher teaching competitions,and teaching achievement awards-between 2020 and 2023,this research analyses the current status of teaching and research at these 14 higher vocational colleges in Hainan.Also evaluated the teaching and research capabilities of these institutions via the entropy value method.The findings reveal that academic papers of high volume and quality are predominantly found in Hainan’s higher vocational colleges designated as“Double High”institutions,which possess distinct professional characteris-tics.With respect to research projects,Hainan’s higher vocational colleges con-duct scientific research grounded in provincial conditions,with a focus on the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port and key local industries.In terms of patents,Hainan’s higher vocational colleges place greater emphasis on the cultivation of utility model patents.With respect to teaching achievement awards,Hainan has a relatively high selection frequency,with a particular focus on participation from department heads and frontline teachers.In teacher teaching competitions,Hainan’s higher vocational colleges utilize their professional characteristics to develop competition projects centered around clusters of majors.On the basis of the results of the data analysis,recommendations are proposed for transforming research paradigms,building high-quality teaching and research teams,establishing a sustainable teaching and research evaluation system,and implementing categorized management for key and general institutions,providing a basis for enhancing teaching and research capabilities at Hainan’s higher vocational colleges. 展开更多

With the world has become the global village,communication between countries is becoming increasingly common.As an important tool for international communication,English has become increasingly important.However,for students in private vocational colleges,English listening anxiety is a common phenomenon,which not only affects the learning ability of students but also restricts the improvement of their comprehensive English ability.In this study,242 first-year students of a private vocational college in Hainan,were used as the study objects,and the level,causes and influencing factors of their English listening anxiety were deeply analyzed via a questionnaire survey.Strategies to alleviate students’English listening anxiety were discussed from the three aspects of teachers,students and schools.The conclusions of this study have certain theoretical and practical significance for improving the the teaching state for English listening to college students from private higher colleges.Meanwhile,It can also enhancing the learning effect of students to English.The comprehensive use of various strategies can effectively relieve students’English listening anxiety,improve their English listening level and learning enthusiasm,and make great contributions to the future career development for them.However,owing to limitations in terms of research time and conditions,this study has several limitations.Future studies can further expand the research scope,increase the diversity and quantity of research samples,and adopt a combination of multiple research methods to conduct a more in-depth discussion on this issue. 展开更多

This study examines the management of human resource training in vocational colleges under Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment,focusing on the transition to smart agriculture.A mixed-methods design was employed,combining policy analysis,surveys at five colleges,and interviews with administrators and lecturers.Findings reveal that while elements of smart agriculture and digital transformation have entered training programs,integration remains fragmented.Curricula emphasize theory over practice,faculty have limited expertise in digital agriculture,and facilities lack modern technology.Weak industry collaboration further widens the gap between training and labor market demands.Using the integrated CIPO-Logic Model,the study identifies misalignments among context,inputs,processes,and outputs that reduce graduate employability and hinder sustainable farming practices.The results highlight the urgent need for comprehensive management reforms that update curricula,enhance faculty capacity,and foster school-industry partnerships.Strengthening these areas will help vocational colleges produce a workforce equipped for digital transformation and support Vietnam’s national agenda for smart,sustainable agriculture.The study provides evidence-based recommendations to guide policymakers,educational leaders,and practitioners in aligning vocational training with future agricultural development needs. 展开更多
