Background:Vitiligo is a chronic depigmenting disorder with substantial psychosocial burden.Conventional therapies(topical corticosteroids,calcineurin inhibitors,phototherapy)have variable efficacy and tolerability,pr...Background:Vitiligo is a chronic depigmenting disorder with substantial psychosocial burden.Conventional therapies(topical corticosteroids,calcineurin inhibitors,phototherapy)have variable efficacy and tolerability,prompting growing interest in integrative and complementary treatments(ICTs).Objective:To synthesize evidence on the efficacy and safety of ICTs compared with conventional therapies in vitiligo and to outline their potential role,advantages,and limitations in clinical decision-making.Data Sources and Study Eligibility:We systematically searched MEDLINE(PubMed),Embase,CENTRAL,LILACS,and the ICTRP and ClinicalTrials.gov trial registries from inception to the review date for randomized and quasiexperimental comparative studies evaluating ICTs(e.g.,botanicals,fire needle therapy,microneedling-assisted drug delivery)versus conventional topical treatments or placebo in patients with vitiligo.Methods:Two reviewers independently screened records,selected studies,extracted data,and assessed risk of bias using the Cochrane RoB 2 tool.When at least two clinically and methodologically similar trials reported comparable dichotomous outcomes,we pooled effect estimates using random-effects meta-analysis and expressed results as risk ratios(RRs)with 95%confidence intervals(CIs).Results:Six randomized controlled trials(total n=255)met inclusion criteria;no eligible quasi-experimental or observational comparative studies were identified.Interventions included topical turmeric cream,oral Ginkgo biloba,fire needle therapy alone or combined with tacrolimus,microneedling-assisted delivery of calcipotriol plus betamethasone versus tacrolimus,and the traditional Chinese formulation Zengse Pill.Across individual trials,several ICTs achieved statistically significant improvements in repigmentation,lesion area reduction,or disease arrest compared with placebo or active comparators.Three studies were judged at overall low risk of bias and three had some concerns,mainly regarding allocation concealment and blinding.An exploratory metaanalysis of two trials(Zengse Pill and Ginkgo biloba)yielded a nonsignificant pooled RR of 2.05(95%CI 0.79–5.35;I2=52.6%),reflecting imprecision and moderate heterogeneity.Adverse events were generally mild and manageable(local irritation,transient erythema/itching,occasional mild nausea),and no serious treatmentrelated events were reported.Limitations:The evidence base is constrained by small sample sizes,short follow-up,heterogeneity of ICT protocols and outcome measures,incomplete reporting of key determinants such as Fitzpatrick phototype,and potential confounding by ambient ultraviolet exposure in predominantly tropical or subtropical study settings.Conclusions:Current data suggest that selected ICTs may serve as well-tolerated adjunctive options for patients with vitiligo,particularly when conventional therapies are insufficient or poorly tolerated.However,the certainty of benefit remains low due to methodological limitations and heterogeneity.Larger,multicenter randomized trials with longer follow-up and standardized outcome sets are needed before ICTs can be routinely integrated into vitiligo treatment algorithms.展开更多
[Objectives]To investigate the effects of acupuncture at the complementary acupuncture points Neiguan and Waiguan on the expression levels of 5-HT,5-HIAA,5-HT 1A R,and 5-HT 4R within the acupoint area and hippocampal ...[Objectives]To investigate the effects of acupuncture at the complementary acupuncture points Neiguan and Waiguan on the expression levels of 5-HT,5-HIAA,5-HT 1A R,and 5-HT 4R within the acupoint area and hippocampal tissue of insomnic rats.[Methods]72 Wistar rats were randomly divided into the following groups,each comprising 12 animals:the complementary acupuncture point groups(through-acupuncture group,anti-acupuncture group),the single acupoint groups(Neiguan acupoint group,Waiguan acupoint group),the model group,and the blank group.The insomnia rat model was established through intraperitoneal injection of chlorobenzene alanine.Each acupuncture group underwent electroacupuncture treatment following the attainment of the deqi sensation,administered once daily for 20 min per session over a period of consecutive 6 d.Electroacupuncture was administered using dilatational waves,with a stimulation frequency alternating between 2 and 100 Hz,and a current intensity of 1 mA.The contents of 5-HT and 5-HIAA were detected by ELISA;5-HT 1A R levels were assessed using immunohistochemistry,and 5-HT 4R mRNA expression was evaluated through fluorescent in situ hybridization.[Results]Compared to the blank group,the expressions of 5-HT,5-HIAA,5-HT 1A R,and 5-HT 4R mRNA in both the acupoint area and hippocampal tissue of rats in the model group were significantly reduced(P<0.05).These indicators were significantly elevated in all acupuncture groups relative to the model group(P<0.05).Furthermore,the complementary acupuncture point groups(through-acupuncture and anti-acupuncture groups)demonstrated a more pronounced increase compared to the single acupoint groups(P<0.05).No statistically significant differences were observed between the through-acupuncture and anti-acupuncture groups,nor between the single Neiguan and Waiguan acupoint groups(P<0.05).[Conclusions]Acupuncture at the Neiguan and Waiguan acupoints effectively ameliorates insomnia in PCPA-treated rats.This therapeutic effect may be associated with increased expression levels of 5-HT,5-HIAA,5-HT 1A R,and 5-HT 4R mRNA in both the acupoint area and the central hippocampal tissue.展开更多

Mild electrocatalytic nitrate reduction reaction(NO3RR),driven by renewable electricity,is regarded as a desirable strategy for green ammonia synthesis and simultaneous removal of nitrogen-containing environmental ...Mild electrocatalytic nitrate reduction reaction(NO3RR),driven by renewable electricity,is regarded as a desirable strategy for green ammonia synthesis and simultaneous removal of nitrogen-containing environmental pollutants.In view of different supply voltages from renewable energy sources,developing costeffective and efficient electrocatalysts with a wide operating potential window is very meaningful for practical application.However,currently reported catalysts usually need to introduce noble metals to synergistically achieve wide-potential selective ammonia synthesis from nitrate.In this work,we present for the first time a dual-transition-metal electrocatalyst(Fe3C-CuOx@NC,x=0,1)with wide-potential-adaptability for highly selective nitrate reduction to ammonia.Such Fe3C-CuOx@NC with spatially separated CuOxand noblemetal-like Fe3C nanoparticles encapsulated with nitrogen-doped graphitized carbon,exhibits outstanding performance in NO3RR with desirable NH3Faraday efficiency of more than 90%over a wide potential ranging from-0.2 V vs.RHE to-0.6 V vs.RHE,comparable to the reported noble metal catalysts.Different from common tandem catalysis,the wide-potential high ammonia selectivity of Fe3C-CuOx@NC is domina ntly ascribed to the complementary enhancement between CuOxand Fe3C,fully supported by results of experiments and density function theory calculations.CuOxexhibit highly intrinsic nitrate reduction to nitrite to compensate for the slow potential determination step(*NO3→*NO3H)of Fe3C,while Fe3C,besides behaving like noble metals to supply adequate active hydrogens,has both good adsorption and reduction abilities for nitrite species to ammonia.Moreover,Fe3C partially stabilizes active Cu0/Cu+sites,and the unique carbon-layer enca psulation structure effectively prevents the agglomeration and corrosion of metal nanoparticles during the electrocatalysis,thus maintaining good cyclic stability.The Zn-NO3-battery assembled with Fe3C-CuOx@NC can reach a high power density of 5.2 mW cm-2at a potential of 1.0 V vs.Zn,with an NH3Faraday efficiency of 92.4%at a current of 8.0 mA,proving its potential practical application.This advance provides unique insights into complementary catalysis mechanisms on multiple metal sites in NO3RR,and offers a reference for the design of other transition metal electrocatalysts matching with renewable electricity.展开更多
Background:The use of complementary and alternative medicine(CAM)is common among individuals with underlying chronic illnesses.Objective:This systematic review and meta-analysis investigated the global prevalence and ...Background:The use of complementary and alternative medicine(CAM)is common among individuals with underlying chronic illnesses.Objective:This systematic review and meta-analysis investigated the global prevalence and patterns of CAM use among individuals with chronic kidney disease(CKD).Search strategy:PubMed,Embase,and Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature Plus were searched from inception until 26th February 2024.Inclusion criteria:Original articles reporting the use of at least one type of CAM among individuals aged above 18 years old and at all stages of CKD or undergoing any form of kidney replacement therapy.Data extraction and analysis:Two independent reviewers performed the literature screening.The data were extracted from the included studies by one reviewer and cross-checked by another.Discrepancies were resolved by discussion and consensus among two reviewers.Primary information included prevalence of CAM use,types of CAM used,reasons for CAM use,factors associated with CAM use,and disclosure to healthcare providers.Meta-analyses were performed to determine the pooled prevalence of CAM use and non-disclosure of CAM using a random effect model.Results:Forty-one studies were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis.The pooled prevalence of CAM use was 43%(95%confidence interval:34%,51%),I2=99.46%.The reasons for CAM use included treatment of underlying comorbidities,complications or symptoms,maintenance of general health,and treatment of CKD.Nutritional approaches were the most common CAM modality,with 412different herbal and dietary supplements reported;psychological and physical approaches included massage therapy,relaxation techniques,and mind–body practices;and other complementary health approaches such as homeopathy,traditional Chinese medicine,and Ayurvedic medicine were also frequently reported.Factors associated with CAM use included sociodemographic characteristics such as older age,female gender,or higher income;disease or therapy factors such as not having diabetes,relying on hemodialysis,or poor adherence to medication;and patient or internal factors such as positive attitude towards CAM and perceived safety of CAM.About 66%(61%,72%)of CAM users did not disclose the use of CAM to their healthcare providers.Conclusion:CAM use is prevalent among individuals with CKD,and healthcare providers should communicate openly and effectively to emphasize the rational use of CAM to avoid potential harm.展开更多

Crumb rubber concrete(CRC)has emerged as a sustainable solution to the environmental challenges posed by rubber waste.This study introduces an advanced mixed-random-aggregate mesoscale model for CRC based on the Base ...Crumb rubber concrete(CRC)has emerged as a sustainable solution to the environmental challenges posed by rubber waste.This study introduces an advanced mixed-random-aggregate mesoscale model for CRC based on the Base Force Element Method(BFEM)and the complementary energy principle.The model incorporates different rubber substitution ratios(0%-30%),rubber particle sizes(2 mm and 4 mm),and specimen dimensions(edge lengths of 100,150,and 300 mm).These parameters are considered to investigate their effects on the mechanical properties and failure mechanisms of CRC.Accordingly,the numerical results include stress-strain responses,elastic modulus,and damage progression patterns.The results indicate that increasing rubber content leads to a pronounced reduction in both tensile and compressive strengths.This drop occurs mainly because rubber particles have a much lower elastic modulus.Thus,they represent stress concentrators and weak points,which accelerate the sample failure.Moreover,for the same replacement ratio,CRC with smaller rubber particles(2 mm)exhibits lower strength than CRC with larger particles(4 mm).This reduction occurs because the finer particles create more interfacial areas,introducing more sites for defect initiation and micro-cracks.In addition,increasing specimen size is associated with reduced strength and elastic modulus,highlighting size-dependent phenomena in CRC.The numerical predictions show good agreement with experimental results reported in the literature.展开更多

Inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD)have a chronic,relapsing,remitting course and impose a substantial clinical impact and economic burden.Despite the expansion of therapeutic options,a significant proportion of patients ...Inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD)have a chronic,relapsing,remitting course and impose a substantial clinical impact and economic burden.Despite the expansion of therapeutic options,a significant proportion of patients continue to fail to achieve relevant outcomes,representing a difficult-to-overcome therapeutic ceiling and highlighting the need to explore complementary pharmacological strategies.In this context,statins,widely used in cardiovascular prevention,have attracted increasing attention for their anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects,independent of their lipid-lowering action.This review summarizes the available data on the relationship between statin use and IBD,including preclinical data,observational studies and clinical trials.Experimental studies demonstrate that statins modulate key pathways of intestinal inflammation,reducing pro-inflammatory cytokine production,improving epithelial barrier function and influencing both innate and adaptive immune responses.Large-scale epidemiological studies further suggest an association between statin use and a reduced risk of IBD onset,as well as a less aggressive clinical course in patients with established disease,with a lower need for corticosteroids,hospitalizations and surgery.Preliminary evidence also indicates a potential role in reducing the risk of colorectal carcinoma associated with chronic inflammation.Although the current data do not yet justify the adoption of statins as a specific treatment for IBD,these findings demonstrate a clear potential for these pharmacological agents to enter the therapeutic armamentarium of IBD.展开更多

This study aimed to synthesize and criticall...Reflexology has recently gained attention as a complementary therapy, but existing evidence on its effectiveness for blood pressure (BP) remains scattered and inconsistent. This study aimed to synthesize and critically evaluate published systematic reviews and meta-analyses examining the impact of reflexology on BP. A comprehensive search was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Epistemonikos up to unti August 25, 2025. Eligible studies included systematic reviews and meta-analyses assessing the effects of reflexology on adult systolic BP and diastolic BP. Methodological quality was evaluated using the A MeaSurement Tool to Assess Systematic Reviews 2 tool, and overlap among primary studies was measured using the Corrected Covered Area (CCA) index. The review process followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Overviews of Reviews checklist. Nine reviews (five meta-analyses and four systematic reviews), including 43 primary studies, were identified.Meta-analytic results showed considerable heterogeneity, with findings ranging from no significant effect to mild or moderate BP reduction after reflexology. All included reviews were rated as critically low quality, mainly due to inadequate assessment of publication bias and insufficient evaluation of risk of bias in primary studies. Primary study overlap was low (CCA = 3.77%). The current evidence on the efficacy of reflexology for BP control remains uncertain and low in certainty. While reflexology appears safe and may contribute to small BP reductions, the evidence is insufficient to support strong clinical recommendations. Robust, large-scale randomized controlled trials and methodologically sound systematic reviews are needed to clarify the role of reflexology in hypertension management.展开更多

摘要Background:Vitiligo is a chronic depigmenting disorder with substantial psychosocial burden.Conventional therapies(topical corticosteroids,calcineurin inhibitors,phototherapy)have variable efficacy and tolerability,prompting growing interest in integrative and complementary treatments(ICTs).Objective:To synthesize evidence on the efficacy and safety of ICTs compared with conventional therapies in vitiligo and to outline their potential role,advantages,and limitations in clinical decision-making.Data Sources and Study Eligibility:We systematically searched MEDLINE(PubMed),Embase,CENTRAL,LILACS,and the ICTRP and ClinicalTrials.gov trial registries from inception to the review date for randomized and quasiexperimental comparative studies evaluating ICTs(e.g.,botanicals,fire needle therapy,microneedling-assisted drug delivery)versus conventional topical treatments or placebo in patients with vitiligo.Methods:Two reviewers independently screened records,selected studies,extracted data,and assessed risk of bias using the Cochrane RoB 2 tool.When at least two clinically and methodologically similar trials reported comparable dichotomous outcomes,we pooled effect estimates using random-effects meta-analysis and expressed results as risk ratios(RRs)with 95%confidence intervals(CIs).Results:Six randomized controlled trials(total n=255)met inclusion criteria;no eligible quasi-experimental or observational comparative studies were identified.Interventions included topical turmeric cream,oral Ginkgo biloba,fire needle therapy alone or combined with tacrolimus,microneedling-assisted delivery of calcipotriol plus betamethasone versus tacrolimus,and the traditional Chinese formulation Zengse Pill.Across individual trials,several ICTs achieved statistically significant improvements in repigmentation,lesion area reduction,or disease arrest compared with placebo or active comparators.Three studies were judged at overall low risk of bias and three had some concerns,mainly regarding allocation concealment and blinding.An exploratory metaanalysis of two trials(Zengse Pill and Ginkgo biloba)yielded a nonsignificant pooled RR of 2.05(95%CI 0.79–5.35;I2=52.6%),reflecting imprecision and moderate heterogeneity.Adverse events were generally mild and manageable(local irritation,transient erythema/itching,occasional mild nausea),and no serious treatmentrelated events were reported.Limitations:The evidence base is constrained by small sample sizes,short follow-up,heterogeneity of ICT protocols and outcome measures,incomplete reporting of key determinants such as Fitzpatrick phototype,and potential confounding by ambient ultraviolet exposure in predominantly tropical or subtropical study settings.Conclusions:Current data suggest that selected ICTs may serve as well-tolerated adjunctive options for patients with vitiligo,particularly when conventional therapies are insufficient or poorly tolerated.However,the certainty of benefit remains low due to methodological limitations and heterogeneity.Larger,multicenter randomized trials with longer follow-up and standardized outcome sets are needed before ICTs can be routinely integrated into vitiligo treatment algorithms.

摘要[Objectives]To investigate the effects of acupuncture at the complementary acupuncture points Neiguan and Waiguan on the expression levels of 5-HT,5-HIAA,5-HT 1A R,and 5-HT 4R within the acupoint area and hippocampal tissue of insomnic rats.[Methods]72 Wistar rats were randomly divided into the following groups,each comprising 12 animals:the complementary acupuncture point groups(through-acupuncture group,anti-acupuncture group),the single acupoint groups(Neiguan acupoint group,Waiguan acupoint group),the model group,and the blank group.The insomnia rat model was established through intraperitoneal injection of chlorobenzene alanine.Each acupuncture group underwent electroacupuncture treatment following the attainment of the deqi sensation,administered once daily for 20 min per session over a period of consecutive 6 d.Electroacupuncture was administered using dilatational waves,with a stimulation frequency alternating between 2 and 100 Hz,and a current intensity of 1 mA.The contents of 5-HT and 5-HIAA were detected by ELISA;5-HT 1A R levels were assessed using immunohistochemistry,and 5-HT 4R mRNA expression was evaluated through fluorescent in situ hybridization.[Results]Compared to the blank group,the expressions of 5-HT,5-HIAA,5-HT 1A R,and 5-HT 4R mRNA in both the acupoint area and hippocampal tissue of rats in the model group were significantly reduced(P<0.05).These indicators were significantly elevated in all acupuncture groups relative to the model group(P<0.05).Furthermore,the complementary acupuncture point groups(through-acupuncture and anti-acupuncture groups)demonstrated a more pronounced increase compared to the single acupoint groups(P<0.05).No statistically significant differences were observed between the through-acupuncture and anti-acupuncture groups,nor between the single Neiguan and Waiguan acupoint groups(P<0.05).[Conclusions]Acupuncture at the Neiguan and Waiguan acupoints effectively ameliorates insomnia in PCPA-treated rats.This therapeutic effect may be associated with increased expression levels of 5-HT,5-HIAA,5-HT 1A R,and 5-HT 4R mRNA in both the acupoint area and the central hippocampal tissue.

摘要Complementary inverter is the basic unit for logic circuits,but the inverters based on full oxide thin-film transistors(TFTs)are still very limited.The next challenge is to realize complementary inverters using homogeneous oxide semiconduc-tors.Herein,we propose the design of complementary inverter based on full ZnO TFTs.Li-N dual-doped ZnO(ZnO:(Li,N))acts as the p-type channel and Al-doped ZnO(ZnO:Al)serves as the n-type channel for fabrication of TFTs,and then the complemen-tary inverter is produced with p-and n-type ZnO TFTs.The homogeneous ZnO-based complementary inverter has typical volt-age transfer characteristics with the voltage gain of 13.34 at the supply voltage of 40 V.This work may open the door for the development of oxide complementary inverters for logic circuits.

摘要As the power system transitions to a new green and low-carbon paradigm,the penetration of renewable energy in China’s power system is gradually increasing.However,the variability and uncertainty of renewable energy output limit its profitability in the electricity market and hinder its market-based integration.This paper first constructs a wind-solar-thermalmulti-energy complementary system,analyzes its external game relationships,and develops a bi-level market optimization model.Then,it considers the contribution levels of internal participants to establish a comprehensive internal distribution evaluation index system.Finally,simulation studies using the IEEE 30-bus system demonstrate that the multi-energy complementary system stabilizes nodal outputs,enhances the profitability of market participants,and promotes the market-based integration of renewable energy.

摘要Low sidelobe waveform can reduce mutual masking between targets and increase the detection probability of weak targets.A low sidelobe waveform design method based on complementary amplitude coding(CAC)is proposed in this paper,which can be used to reduce the sidelobe level of multiple waveforms.First,the CAC model is constructed.Then,the waveform design problem is transformed into a nonlinear optimization problem by constructing an objective function using the two indicators of peak-to-sidelobe ratio(PSLR)and integrated sidelobe ratio(ISLR).Finally,genetic algorithm(GA)is used to solve the optimization problem to get the best CAC waveforms.Simulations and experiments are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
摘要Under the current long-term electricity market mechanism,new energy and thermal power face issues such as deviation assessment and compression of generation space.The profitability of market players is limited.Simultaneously,the cooperation model among various energy sources will have a direct impact on the alliance’s revenue and the equity of income distribution within the alliance.Therefore,integrating new energy with thermal power units into an integrated multi-energy complementary system to participate in the long-term electricity market holds significant potential.To simulate and evaluate the benefits and internal distribution methods of a multi-energy complementary system participating in long-term market transactions,this paper first constructs a multi-energy complementary system integrated with new energy and thermal power generation units at the same connection point,and participates in the annual bilateral game as a unified market entity to obtain the revenue value under the annual bilateral market.Secondly,based on the entropy weight method,improvements are made to the traditional Shapley value distribution model,and an internal distribution model for multi-energy complementary systems with multiple participants is constructed.Finally,a Markov Decision Process(MDP)evaluation system is constructed for practical case verification.The research results show that the improved Shapley value distribution model achieves higher satisfaction,providing a reasonable allocation scheme for multi-energy complementary cooperation models.

摘要Mild electrocatalytic nitrate reduction reaction(NO3RR),driven by renewable electricity,is regarded as a desirable strategy for green ammonia synthesis and simultaneous removal of nitrogen-containing environmental pollutants.In view of different supply voltages from renewable energy sources,developing costeffective and efficient electrocatalysts with a wide operating potential window is very meaningful for practical application.However,currently reported catalysts usually need to introduce noble metals to synergistically achieve wide-potential selective ammonia synthesis from nitrate.In this work,we present for the first time a dual-transition-metal electrocatalyst(Fe3C-CuOx@NC,x=0,1)with wide-potential-adaptability for highly selective nitrate reduction to ammonia.Such Fe3C-CuOx@NC with spatially separated CuOxand noblemetal-like Fe3C nanoparticles encapsulated with nitrogen-doped graphitized carbon,exhibits outstanding performance in NO3RR with desirable NH3Faraday efficiency of more than 90%over a wide potential ranging from-0.2 V vs.RHE to-0.6 V vs.RHE,comparable to the reported noble metal catalysts.Different from common tandem catalysis,the wide-potential high ammonia selectivity of Fe3C-CuOx@NC is domina ntly ascribed to the complementary enhancement between CuOxand Fe3C,fully supported by results of experiments and density function theory calculations.CuOxexhibit highly intrinsic nitrate reduction to nitrite to compensate for the slow potential determination step(*NO3→*NO3H)of Fe3C,while Fe3C,besides behaving like noble metals to supply adequate active hydrogens,has both good adsorption and reduction abilities for nitrite species to ammonia.Moreover,Fe3C partially stabilizes active Cu0/Cu+sites,and the unique carbon-layer enca psulation structure effectively prevents the agglomeration and corrosion of metal nanoparticles during the electrocatalysis,thus maintaining good cyclic stability.The Zn-NO3-battery assembled with Fe3C-CuOx@NC can reach a high power density of 5.2 mW cm-2at a potential of 1.0 V vs.Zn,with an NH3Faraday efficiency of 92.4%at a current of 8.0 mA,proving its potential practical application.This advance provides unique insights into complementary catalysis mechanisms on multiple metal sites in NO3RR,and offers a reference for the design of other transition metal electrocatalysts matching with renewable electricity.
摘要Background:The use of complementary and alternative medicine(CAM)is common among individuals with underlying chronic illnesses.Objective:This systematic review and meta-analysis investigated the global prevalence and patterns of CAM use among individuals with chronic kidney disease(CKD).Search strategy:PubMed,Embase,and Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature Plus were searched from inception until 26th February 2024.Inclusion criteria:Original articles reporting the use of at least one type of CAM among individuals aged above 18 years old and at all stages of CKD or undergoing any form of kidney replacement therapy.Data extraction and analysis:Two independent reviewers performed the literature screening.The data were extracted from the included studies by one reviewer and cross-checked by another.Discrepancies were resolved by discussion and consensus among two reviewers.Primary information included prevalence of CAM use,types of CAM used,reasons for CAM use,factors associated with CAM use,and disclosure to healthcare providers.Meta-analyses were performed to determine the pooled prevalence of CAM use and non-disclosure of CAM using a random effect model.Results:Forty-one studies were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis.The pooled prevalence of CAM use was 43%(95%confidence interval:34%,51%),I2=99.46%.The reasons for CAM use included treatment of underlying comorbidities,complications or symptoms,maintenance of general health,and treatment of CKD.Nutritional approaches were the most common CAM modality,with 412different herbal and dietary supplements reported;psychological and physical approaches included massage therapy,relaxation techniques,and mind–body practices;and other complementary health approaches such as homeopathy,traditional Chinese medicine,and Ayurvedic medicine were also frequently reported.Factors associated with CAM use included sociodemographic characteristics such as older age,female gender,or higher income;disease or therapy factors such as not having diabetes,relying on hemodialysis,or poor adherence to medication;and patient or internal factors such as positive attitude towards CAM and perceived safety of CAM.About 66%(61%,72%)of CAM users did not disclose the use of CAM to their healthcare providers.Conclusion:CAM use is prevalent among individuals with CKD,and healthcare providers should communicate openly and effectively to emphasize the rational use of CAM to avoid potential harm.
摘要This editorial is based on the network pharmacology and in vivo study by Qin et al,which investigated the potential therapeutic mechanisms of Panax ginseng(P.ginseng)in ulcerative colitis.The key findings from the study included the identification of the targets of P.ginseng and ulcerative colitis,elucidation of mechanistic pathways,and in vivo validation of the pharmacological activity and therapeutic effect of panaxadiol,a key active component of P.ginseng.This editorial provides additional context regarding the evidence supporting the use of ginseng and other commonly used complementary therapies that clinicians may encounter.We also aim to highlight potential similarities between the mechanisms of popular complementary and conventional medical therapies.

摘要Crumb rubber concrete(CRC)has emerged as a sustainable solution to the environmental challenges posed by rubber waste.This study introduces an advanced mixed-random-aggregate mesoscale model for CRC based on the Base Force Element Method(BFEM)and the complementary energy principle.The model incorporates different rubber substitution ratios(0%-30%),rubber particle sizes(2 mm and 4 mm),and specimen dimensions(edge lengths of 100,150,and 300 mm).These parameters are considered to investigate their effects on the mechanical properties and failure mechanisms of CRC.Accordingly,the numerical results include stress-strain responses,elastic modulus,and damage progression patterns.The results indicate that increasing rubber content leads to a pronounced reduction in both tensile and compressive strengths.This drop occurs mainly because rubber particles have a much lower elastic modulus.Thus,they represent stress concentrators and weak points,which accelerate the sample failure.Moreover,for the same replacement ratio,CRC with smaller rubber particles(2 mm)exhibits lower strength than CRC with larger particles(4 mm).This reduction occurs because the finer particles create more interfacial areas,introducing more sites for defect initiation and micro-cracks.In addition,increasing specimen size is associated with reduced strength and elastic modulus,highlighting size-dependent phenomena in CRC.The numerical predictions show good agreement with experimental results reported in the literature.

摘要The international scientific literature presents still incipient results regarding the management of cancer symptom clusters by oncology nursing,especially in pediatric oncology.This is a promising field of investigation for clinical nurses and researchers,and when it is subsidized by medium-range theories,they co-rroborate the diagnoses and interventions of nursing in oncology,enhancing the science of nursing care.This minireview article aims to discuss the utilizing the hospital clowns as a complementary therapy,to enhance quality of life and reduce stress and fatigue in pediatric cancer patients.Overall,the evidence presented so far pointed out that complementary therapy might help improve the quality of life of pediatric cancer patients,and that complementary therapy usage should be part of a health comprehensive care model,delivering therapeutic approaches that might enhance the mind-body during a pediatric cancer patients’life span.The results of scientific investigations by nurses,particularly those linked to the basic sciences,play a critical role in advancing personalized care in pediatric integrative oncology.
摘要Inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD)have a chronic,relapsing,remitting course and impose a substantial clinical impact and economic burden.Despite the expansion of therapeutic options,a significant proportion of patients continue to fail to achieve relevant outcomes,representing a difficult-to-overcome therapeutic ceiling and highlighting the need to explore complementary pharmacological strategies.In this context,statins,widely used in cardiovascular prevention,have attracted increasing attention for their anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects,independent of their lipid-lowering action.This review summarizes the available data on the relationship between statin use and IBD,including preclinical data,observational studies and clinical trials.Experimental studies demonstrate that statins modulate key pathways of intestinal inflammation,reducing pro-inflammatory cytokine production,improving epithelial barrier function and influencing both innate and adaptive immune responses.Large-scale epidemiological studies further suggest an association between statin use and a reduced risk of IBD onset,as well as a less aggressive clinical course in patients with established disease,with a lower need for corticosteroids,hospitalizations and surgery.Preliminary evidence also indicates a potential role in reducing the risk of colorectal carcinoma associated with chronic inflammation.Although the current data do not yet justify the adoption of statins as a specific treatment for IBD,these findings demonstrate a clear potential for these pharmacological agents to enter the therapeutic armamentarium of IBD.

摘要Organic electrochemical transistor(OECT)-based inverters hold great promise for neural-machine interfaces due to their low operating voltage and compatibility with aqueous environments.However,unbalanced p--channel characteristics hinder the inverter's voltage gain and fast switching.Here,a rational inverter design is presented,leveraging ion concentration to equilibrate p-n channel conductivity and kinetic doping in the OECT inverter,achieving an extremely high gain value of over 370 V/V under optimized driving conditions.Furthermore,a 3-stage ring oscillator constructed from these ion-equilibrated OECT inverters exhibits a rapid response time(stage delay<0.6 ms)and a broad frequency response exceeding 300 Hz,matching the mechanoreceptor signals in human skin.The biocompatible output displays a sublinear reaction to static pressure pulses,indicating successful tactile recognition in live neurons.This work presents a practical strategy for constructing neural-compatible artificial logics through ion-concentration engineering,providing a platform for seamless neural-machine integration.
摘要Gait,the unique pattern of how a person walks,has emerged as one of the most promising biometric features in modern intelligent sensing.Unlike fingerprints or facial characteristics,gait can be captured unobtrusively and at a distance,without requiring the subject’s awareness or cooperation.This makes it highly suitable for long-range surveillance,forensic investigation,and smart environments where contactless recognition is crucial.Traditional gait-recognition systems rely either on silhouettes,which capture the outer appearance of a person,or on skeletons,which describe the internal structure of human motion.Each modality provides only a partial understanding of gait.Silhouettes emphasize shape and contour but are easily distorted by clothing or carried objects;skeletons describe motion dynamics and limb coordination but lose discriminative details about body shape.This article presents the concept of Complementary Semantic Embedding(CSE),a unified framework that merges silhouette and skeleton information into a comprehensive semantic representation of human walking.By modeling the complementary nature of appearance and structure,the approach achieves more robust and accurate gait recognition even under challenging conditions.
摘要Reflexology has recently gained attention as a complementary therapy, but existing evidence on its effectiveness for blood pressure (BP) remains scattered and inconsistent. This study aimed to synthesize and critically evaluate published systematic reviews and meta-analyses examining the impact of reflexology on BP. A comprehensive search was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Epistemonikos up to unti August 25, 2025. Eligible studies included systematic reviews and meta-analyses assessing the effects of reflexology on adult systolic BP and diastolic BP. Methodological quality was evaluated using the A MeaSurement Tool to Assess Systematic Reviews 2 tool, and overlap among primary studies was measured using the Corrected Covered Area (CCA) index. The review process followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Overviews of Reviews checklist. Nine reviews (five meta-analyses and four systematic reviews), including 43 primary studies, were identified.Meta-analytic results showed considerable heterogeneity, with findings ranging from no significant effect to mild or moderate BP reduction after reflexology. All included reviews were rated as critically low quality, mainly due to inadequate assessment of publication bias and insufficient evaluation of risk of bias in primary studies. Primary study overlap was low (CCA = 3.77%). The current evidence on the efficacy of reflexology for BP control remains uncertain and low in certainty. While reflexology appears safe and may contribute to small BP reductions, the evidence is insufficient to support strong clinical recommendations. Robust, large-scale randomized controlled trials and methodologically sound systematic reviews are needed to clarify the role of reflexology in hypertension management.
摘要Mainstream medicine commonly categorizes acupuncture as“alternative and complementary,”a designation that reflects conceptual gaps in existing treatment classification systems.Integrating complementary medicine into the mainstream medical system requires a conceptual adjustment.Here,Ⅰ propose a mechanism-based 5R classification—Removing,Repairing,Replacing,Replenishing,Regulating—to systematically categorize therapies.Based on this classification,acupuncture and its related interventions fall under functional regulation therapy.This framework offers a unified,functional perspective that facilitates the integration of complementary medicine into mainstream medical taxonomy.
