Method: A multicentered randomized prospective clinical trial was conducted in ten center...Objective: To compare the efficacy, side-effects and acceptability of domestic produced implant No. I and No. II with Norplant. Method: A multicentered randomized prospective clinical trial was conducted in ten centers in Chi na since 1993. Every center have recruited 100 cases for each of the three types of implants. Results: Altogether l, 001 cases of No. I, 1, 000 cases of No. II and 998 cases of Norplant were recruited. The follow--up rate was 99. 2% at the end of 24 months and 99. 1% at the end of 36 months. One pregnancy in No. I implant occurred & months after insertion and the net cumulative pregnancy rate was 0. 1 per 100 women. Total discontinuation rates were 15. 1, 14. 1, and 12. 9 per 100 women in NO. I, No. II and Norplant groups respectively. Among them about 75% of discontinuation was due to the menstrual problems. The incidence of side-effects were 22. 6%, 19. 0% and 19. 7% respectively at 36 months follow--up. There was no significant differences in efficacy and side effects among these three types of implant. Conclusion: The result of this three-years’ follow--up indicated that the domestic products implant No. I and No. II just as Norplant are long term, highly effective contraceptive and have been accepted in different area by different people. Rural domestic sewage treatment is critical for environmental protection.This study defines the spatial pattern of villages from the perspective of rural sewage treatment and develops an integrated decision-making sys...Rural domestic sewage treatment is critical for environmental protection.This study defines the spatial pattern of villages from the perspective of rural sewage treatment and develops an integrated decision-making system to propose a sewage treatment mode and scheme suitable for local conditions.By considering the village spatial layout and terrain factors,a decision tree model of residential density and terrain type was constructed with accuracies of 76.47%and 96.00%,respectively.Combined with binary classification probability unit regression,an appropriate sewage treatment mode for the village was determined with 87.00%accuracy.The Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP),combined with the Technique for Order Preference(TOPSIS)by Similarity to an Ideal Solution model,formed the basis for optimal treatment process selection under different emission standards.Verification was conducted in 542 villages across three counties of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,focusing on the standard effluent effect(0.3773),low investment cost(0.3196),and high standard effluent effect(0.5115)to determine the best treatment process for the same emission standard under different needs.The annual environmental and carbon emission benefits of sewage treatment in these villages were estimated.This model matches village density,geographic feature,and social development level,and provides scientific support and a theoretical basis for rural sewage treatment decision-making.展开更多

Peanut(Arachis hypogaea),a globally important oilseed crop,exhibits contrasting growth habits between wild species(prostrate)and cultivated varieties(erect or spreading),but the underlying mechanism is unclear.In this...Peanut(Arachis hypogaea),a globally important oilseed crop,exhibits contrasting growth habits between wild species(prostrate)and cultivated varieties(erect or spreading),but the underlying mechanism is unclear.In this study,we performed quantitative trait locus(QTL)mapping of two recombinant inbred line(RIL)populations of peanut using SNP arrays and bulk segregant analysis,which identified qGH15on chromosome 15 as a major QTL regulating growth habit.Fine mapping using KASP markers narrowed the candidate region to a 151-kb interval,while analysis of a residual heterozygous line(RHL)further delimited qGH15 to a 38-kb interval containing a single candidate gene,which we designated as AhGH15.Genotyping of a natural population revealed multiple types of polymorphisms in this gene associated with the erect habit in cultivated varieties.Phylogenetic and pedigree analyses demonstrated that these polymorphisms were recurrently and convergently selected during peanut domestication and breeding,with modern hybridization accelerating their dissemination.Transcriptome deep sequencing and gene co-expression analysis via WGCNA revealed polymorphism-specific patterns of transcriptome regulation,with co-expressed gene modules differentially active between accessions with erect or prostrate growth habits.These findings establish AhGH15 as a key determinant of peanut growth habit and highlight its complex selection history during peanut improvement.展开更多

The Huang(Yellow River)-Huai(Huaihe)-Hai(Haihe)region(3H region)is an area with dense population,industry and agriculture in China,and is vital to the national economic development.Water scarcity in this region has be...The Huang(Yellow River)-Huai(Huaihe)-Hai(Haihe)region(3H region)is an area with dense population,industry and agriculture in China,and is vital to the national economic development.Water scarcity in this region has become critical especially due to climate change and intensified human activities.It is therefore essential to quantify the impact of water pricing policies on water consumption for optimizing water consumption structure and improving water use efficiency.This paper analyzed the water-saving effect of water pricing policies based on nonlinear fixed-effect models considering users’behaviors,and compared the water price elasticities in domestic and industrial sectors among provincial regions during 2007–2016.The results show that the price elasticity of industrial water demand approached unit elasticity,whereas the price elasticity of domestic water demand is relatively low.Consequently,water pricing policies during 2007–2016 reduced industrial water demand by 55.9%and domestic water demand by only 23.8%.By 2030,water price needs to be raised about 45%to balance the total water demand,as the growth per capita Gross Domestic Product(GDP)and industrial Gross Value Added(GVA)are projected to drive significant rise in water demand(both P<0.001).This study revealed the limitation of current water pricing policies on regional water conservation,which needs a combination with other measures to systematically promote water use efficiency and alleviate water stress.展开更多

In the complex architecture of global value-chain(GVC)trade,firms’technological content increasingly reflects external knowledge flows.This study examines how inter-regional technological complementarity shapes firms...In the complex architecture of global value-chain(GVC)trade,firms’technological content increasingly reflects external knowledge flows.This study examines how inter-regional technological complementarity shapes firms’GVC advancement,measured by the domestic value-added rate(DVAR)in exports.Using integrated Chinese microdata(2000-2014),we find this complementarity significantly boosts export DVAR,explaining about one-quarter of its observed growth.Two mechanisms drive this effect:increased use of domestic intermediates and gains in firm productivity.The benefits are especially large for firms with lower human capital and for those in accessible,innovation-peripheral regions,helping narrow productivity gaps across firms and space.Affected firms also exhibit broader export scopes,higher product quality,more diversified destinations,and greater markups-firm-level evidence of GVC upgrading.These findings highlight how external technological linkages drive upgrading and underscore the importance of fostering inter-regional synergies for balanced development.展开更多
Agriculture is a crucial pillar for economic growth,food security,and trade,therefore,it is necessary to study how the performance of agriculture affects the overall situation of a country.This study assessed the exte...Agriculture is a crucial pillar for economic growth,food security,and trade,therefore,it is necessary to study how the performance of agriculture affects the overall situation of a country.This study assessed the extent to which agricultural production in Lincolnshire shapes the agricultural performance of the United Kingdom(UK)and contributes to the economic development of the country.This study used the Chow test and parsimonious vector autoregressive(VAR)model to analyze data(Gross Value Added(GVA)for agriculture in Lincolnshire during 1997–2023,and GVA for agriculture in the UK,gross domestic product(GDP)in the UK,and agricultural trade balance(ATB)in the UK during 1990–2023)sourced from the Food and Agriculture Organization Statistics(FAOSTAT),Office of National Statistics,Statistica,and the UK Government.The results indicated that GVA for agriculture in Lincolnshire accounted for 4.30%–6.90%of the national GVA for agriculture during 1997–2023,and it increased by 57.20%during the study period.Structural break analysis revealed statistically significant breaks of GVA for agriculture in Lincolnshire at 5%,10%,and 1%significance levels in 2004,2008,and 2013,respectively.The current level of GVA for agriculture in Lincolnshire was negatively influenced by the GDP level of previous two years and positively influenced by the ATB level of previous one year.In conclusion,GVA for agriculture in Lincolnshire was strongly endogenous,whereas GDP and ATB were weakly exogenous with respect to GVA for agriculture.Furthermore,GVA for agriculture,GDP,and ATB in the UK exerted asymmetric effects on GVA for agriculture in Lincolnshire.This study recommends leveraging the governance opportunities presented by devolution to provide sustained support for agricultural production through mechanisms analogous to the Common Agricultural Policy,particularly in relation to subsidy provision.Devolution can further promote local consumption through targeted campaigns and may serve as a foundation for developing Lincolnshire-specific policies that can strengthen agricultural production and export.展开更多

As the only carnivore domesticated by humans,the evolutionary transition of proto-domestic canids into human-associated niches remains a central unresolved question in domestication biology.Although prior work has emp...As the only carnivore domesticated by humans,the evolutionary transition of proto-domestic canids into human-associated niches remains a central unresolved question in domestication biology.Although prior work has emphasized behavioral transformations during domestication,the circadian shift from crepuscular activity in gray wolves to predominantly diurnal patterns in dogs has received comparatively little attention,despite its importance in synchronizing with human daily cycles.This study examined highly diverged loci linked to circadian system remodeling,a putative early domestication trait that likely preceded intentional human selection.Comparative genomic analyses identified NOCT as a candidate domestication gene,characterized by pronounced indel frequency divergence between gray wolves and dogs.Functional assays demonstrated that reduced NOCT expression disrupted circadian rhythmicity and was accompanied by increased myelin sheath formation in the prefrontal cortex.These neurophysiological alterations were associated with marked behavioral shifts,including extended exploratory locomotion,elevated fear and anxiety responses,and enhanced short-term memory.Collectively,these phenotypic outcomes provide empirical support for the self-domestication hypothesis and offer a mechanistic framework explaining how ancestral scavenging wolves gradually adapted to human-modified environments.Furthermore,these findings elucidate a previously underappreciated circadianneurodevelopmental axis in canid domestication and advance understanding of the evolutionary processes that enabled the emergence of dogs as the only carnivore companion species for humans.展开更多

Alternatively, prey species may employ strategies such as aposematism, which advertises unpalatability, or mimicry, which involves imitating other organisms. Because domestic animals typically experience reduced predation pressure compared with their wild counterparts, they are expected to exhibit less developed cryptic coloration. To test this prediction, we compared dorsal and ventral crypsis between domestic and wild black-spotted frogs(Pelophylax nigromaculatus) using reflectancemeasurement methods. Our results showed that domestic males displayed significantly weaker dorsal crypsis than wild males. In contrast, no statistically significant difference in dorsal crypsis was observed between domestic and wild females. These findings suggest that the reduction in dorsal crypsis among domestic males may be attributable to relaxed predation pressure and shifts in dietary resources within human-modified environments.展开更多
In engineering practice of microbial-induced carbonate precipitation(MICP),urease-producing bacteria(UPB)cannot tolerate high-salt concentrations of cementation solution(CS).Increasing the salt tolerance of UPB to CS ...In engineering practice of microbial-induced carbonate precipitation(MICP),urease-producing bacteria(UPB)cannot tolerate high-salt concentrations of cementation solution(CS).Increasing the salt tolerance of UPB to CS can improve the efficiency and the application scope of MICP.In order to enhance the salt tolerance of Sporosarcina pasteurii,a gradual salt concentration gradient method was employed for its domestication.Growth characteristics in the domestication medium were evaluated through optical density tests,revealing a slowed growth rate in domesticated bacteria.Furthermore,salt tolerance tests,unconfined compressive strength(UCS)tests,and scanning electron microscopic analyses were conducted to investigate the calcium ion precipitation capacity,strength properties of bio-cemented sand columns,and microstructure of reinforced samples among untamed bacteria(UB),domesticated bacteria(DB),and the control group.The results indicate the following:DB's tolerance to CS salt concentration exhibited an approximate increase of 0.25 mol/L.In the context of high concentration CS conditions,DB-treated samples demonstrated approximately double the UCS in comparison to UB,indicating a more efficient calcium ion precipitation process.Furthermore,DB resulted in a higher proportion of cauliflower-like calcium carbonate crystals under high concentration CS conditions.This crystal morphology is commonly associated with superior mechanical properties.These findings demonstrate that domestication effectively enhances bacterial biomineralization performance in high-salinity environments.展开更多

Conclusion: The result of this three-years’ follow--up indicated that the domestic products implant No. I and No. II just as Norplant are long term, highly effective contraceptive and have been accepted in different area by different people. It will be widely selected by women of reproductive age in China.

摘要Goats(Capra hircus)provide a rich source of products,such as meat,milk,and wool,and are important domestic animals in many parts of the world.Goats were one of the first domesticated livestock species during the late Neolithic period,approximately 11,000 years ago,in the Fertile Crescent.In the past decades,genomic studies of goats have provided insight into their domestication and genetic basis of economically important traits.This review outlines the latest advancements that have been made in reference to domestication and genetic improvement of production traits such as meat and carcass quality,reproduction,milk,cashmere,and functional traits such as environmental adaptation and diseaseresistance.Genomic research is entering a new era with the availability of graphical pan-genomics and telomere-totelomere(T2T)gap-free genome assembly,which will extend our understanding of domestication and molecular mechanistic dissection of economic traits in goats.We provide new perspectives and future directions for genomics and suggest how the ever-increasing multi-omics dataset will facilitate future studies and molecular breeding in goat.

摘要Rural domestic sewage treatment is critical for environmental protection.This study defines the spatial pattern of villages from the perspective of rural sewage treatment and develops an integrated decision-making system to propose a sewage treatment mode and scheme suitable for local conditions.By considering the village spatial layout and terrain factors,a decision tree model of residential density and terrain type was constructed with accuracies of 76.47%and 96.00%,respectively.Combined with binary classification probability unit regression,an appropriate sewage treatment mode for the village was determined with 87.00%accuracy.The Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP),combined with the Technique for Order Preference(TOPSIS)by Similarity to an Ideal Solution model,formed the basis for optimal treatment process selection under different emission standards.Verification was conducted in 542 villages across three counties of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,focusing on the standard effluent effect(0.3773),low investment cost(0.3196),and high standard effluent effect(0.5115)to determine the best treatment process for the same emission standard under different needs.The annual environmental and carbon emission benefits of sewage treatment in these villages were estimated.This model matches village density,geographic feature,and social development level,and provides scientific support and a theoretical basis for rural sewage treatment decision-making.

摘要Peanut(Arachis hypogaea),a globally important oilseed crop,exhibits contrasting growth habits between wild species(prostrate)and cultivated varieties(erect or spreading),but the underlying mechanism is unclear.In this study,we performed quantitative trait locus(QTL)mapping of two recombinant inbred line(RIL)populations of peanut using SNP arrays and bulk segregant analysis,which identified qGH15on chromosome 15 as a major QTL regulating growth habit.Fine mapping using KASP markers narrowed the candidate region to a 151-kb interval,while analysis of a residual heterozygous line(RHL)further delimited qGH15 to a 38-kb interval containing a single candidate gene,which we designated as AhGH15.Genotyping of a natural population revealed multiple types of polymorphisms in this gene associated with the erect habit in cultivated varieties.Phylogenetic and pedigree analyses demonstrated that these polymorphisms were recurrently and convergently selected during peanut domestication and breeding,with modern hybridization accelerating their dissemination.Transcriptome deep sequencing and gene co-expression analysis via WGCNA revealed polymorphism-specific patterns of transcriptome regulation,with co-expressed gene modules differentially active between accessions with erect or prostrate growth habits.These findings establish AhGH15 as a key determinant of peanut growth habit and highlight its complex selection history during peanut improvement.

摘要The inflorescence and spikelet structural units of rice significantly impact grain development.Among the grasses,the sterile lemma represents a unique spikelet organ exclusive to rice.As most studies on sterile lemma genes primarily focus on Asian cultivated rice(Oryza sativa L.),genes influencing the sterile lemma phenotype in African rice remain unreported.This study identified lsl3,a gene located on the short arm of chromosome 7 that controls the sterile lemma length in African rice.The key mutation of lsl3,leading to long sterile lemmas in African rice,was discovered and differed from that in Asian rice.The investigation of lsl3 not only provides a reference for the molecular evolution of cultivated rice in Africa but also offers new evidence supporting the parallel domestication of rice and the independent origin of Oryza glaberrima.

摘要Scientific instruments serve as foundational pillars for both scientific progress and industrial innovation,enabling deep exploration and driving technological breakthroughs.Their independent controllability and continuous innovation are indispensable for sustaining a competitive advantage in technological development,thereby securing national scientific capacity and long-term strategic growth.At present,however,China faces substantial risks of technological"stranglehold"in the high-end scientific instrument domain.The underlying causes are multifaceted,arising not only from insufficient accumulation of core technologies but also from entrenched systemic and ecosystem-level barriers that impede the application,scaling,and promotion of domestic instruments.This paper provides a systematic analysis of the challenges hindering the widespread adoption of domestically developed scientific instruments and proposes practical pathways to build a new,integrated"R&D-application-promotion"ecosystem.This ecosystem is anchored in trust,driven by user demand,and shaped through collaborative innovation.Key initiatives include organizing user visits to instrument manufacturers,convening seminars on domestic alternatives to imported equipment,establishing demonstration centers for application and promotion,and involving end-users directly in the R&D and iterative upgrading of domestic instruments.Together,these efforts aim to close the final critical gap,advancing domestic instruments from merely"functional"to genuinely"user-friendly",and ultimately to"widely implemented".By doing so,this framework offers both theoretical grounding and practical guidance for achieving high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and sustained innovation capacity.

摘要The Huang(Yellow River)-Huai(Huaihe)-Hai(Haihe)region(3H region)is an area with dense population,industry and agriculture in China,and is vital to the national economic development.Water scarcity in this region has become critical especially due to climate change and intensified human activities.It is therefore essential to quantify the impact of water pricing policies on water consumption for optimizing water consumption structure and improving water use efficiency.This paper analyzed the water-saving effect of water pricing policies based on nonlinear fixed-effect models considering users’behaviors,and compared the water price elasticities in domestic and industrial sectors among provincial regions during 2007–2016.The results show that the price elasticity of industrial water demand approached unit elasticity,whereas the price elasticity of domestic water demand is relatively low.Consequently,water pricing policies during 2007–2016 reduced industrial water demand by 55.9%and domestic water demand by only 23.8%.By 2030,water price needs to be raised about 45%to balance the total water demand,as the growth per capita Gross Domestic Product(GDP)and industrial Gross Value Added(GVA)are projected to drive significant rise in water demand(both P<0.001).This study revealed the limitation of current water pricing policies on regional water conservation,which needs a combination with other measures to systematically promote water use efficiency and alleviate water stress.
摘要Aiming at the problems of lagging curriculum,weak practice,and single evaluation in the cultivation of HarmonyOS Development talents,this study constructs a“teacher-machine-student”ternary interactive teaching model based on the Congyou platform.Through the building block curriculum system,the HarmonyOS technology stack is decoupled into dynamic capability units,and a multi-disciplinary cross-case library is jointly built with Huawei,which significantly improves the synchronization of teaching content and industrial technology.This paper innovatively designs an AI collaborative teaching system,which employs knowledge graphs to plan learning paths,utilizes virtual equipment clusters to simulate development environments,and establishes a“diagnosis-feedback-enhancement”closed loop through AI-based review,thereby effectively improving students’development efficiency and code reuse rate.A three-dimensional evaluation model integrating task outcomes,process performance,and innovation is constructed,incorporating indicators such as code standardization and an innovation index to strengthen the cultivation of engineering thinking and innovative ability.Furthermore,a data-driven support platform is built to generate student competency profiles,open up the“credit-competency-certification”pathway,promote the transformation of course achievements into contributions to the Huawei ecosystem,and significantly shorten the job adaptation cycle for graduates.The research results provide a replicable paradigm for the cultivation of domestic operating system talents.

摘要In the complex architecture of global value-chain(GVC)trade,firms’technological content increasingly reflects external knowledge flows.This study examines how inter-regional technological complementarity shapes firms’GVC advancement,measured by the domestic value-added rate(DVAR)in exports.Using integrated Chinese microdata(2000-2014),we find this complementarity significantly boosts export DVAR,explaining about one-quarter of its observed growth.Two mechanisms drive this effect:increased use of domestic intermediates and gains in firm productivity.The benefits are especially large for firms with lower human capital and for those in accessible,innovation-peripheral regions,helping narrow productivity gaps across firms and space.Affected firms also exhibit broader export scopes,higher product quality,more diversified destinations,and greater markups-firm-level evidence of GVC upgrading.These findings highlight how external technological linkages drive upgrading and underscore the importance of fostering inter-regional synergies for balanced development.

摘要Agriculture is a crucial pillar for economic growth,food security,and trade,therefore,it is necessary to study how the performance of agriculture affects the overall situation of a country.This study assessed the extent to which agricultural production in Lincolnshire shapes the agricultural performance of the United Kingdom(UK)and contributes to the economic development of the country.This study used the Chow test and parsimonious vector autoregressive(VAR)model to analyze data(Gross Value Added(GVA)for agriculture in Lincolnshire during 1997–2023,and GVA for agriculture in the UK,gross domestic product(GDP)in the UK,and agricultural trade balance(ATB)in the UK during 1990–2023)sourced from the Food and Agriculture Organization Statistics(FAOSTAT),Office of National Statistics,Statistica,and the UK Government.The results indicated that GVA for agriculture in Lincolnshire accounted for 4.30%–6.90%of the national GVA for agriculture during 1997–2023,and it increased by 57.20%during the study period.Structural break analysis revealed statistically significant breaks of GVA for agriculture in Lincolnshire at 5%,10%,and 1%significance levels in 2004,2008,and 2013,respectively.The current level of GVA for agriculture in Lincolnshire was negatively influenced by the GDP level of previous two years and positively influenced by the ATB level of previous one year.In conclusion,GVA for agriculture in Lincolnshire was strongly endogenous,whereas GDP and ATB were weakly exogenous with respect to GVA for agriculture.Furthermore,GVA for agriculture,GDP,and ATB in the UK exerted asymmetric effects on GVA for agriculture in Lincolnshire.This study recommends leveraging the governance opportunities presented by devolution to provide sustained support for agricultural production through mechanisms analogous to the Common Agricultural Policy,particularly in relation to subsidy provision.Devolution can further promote local consumption through targeted campaigns and may serve as a foundation for developing Lincolnshire-specific policies that can strengthen agricultural production and export.

摘要The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China called for the coordinated advancement of domestic and foreign-related rule of law,using sound legislation to promote development and ensure good governance.The legislation of China,grounded in the national conditions,involves absorption and transformation of ratified international human rights treaties as well as drawing reference from those not yet ratified,and constitutes a significant practice in foreign-related rule of law.This concerns not only the earnest fulfillment of obligations under international treaties but also the organic integration of international human rights standards with domestic law under the guidance of China’s contemporary outlook on human rights.During the process,China upholds the leadership of the Communist Party of China,emphasizes the people-centered approach,adheres to its actual conditions,maintains the initiative and puts things into its own use,advances its path of democracy and rule of law with Chinese characteristics,so as to realize the creative transformation,and meanwhile,with a global vision,China promotes international cooperation,expands foreign aid,actively participates in global human rights governance.This is a progressive and dynamic process.The legal system of China on human rights protection has been fundamentally established and will continue to be improved,with significant progress in the absorption and transformation of international human rights treaties.It will become more detailed and systematic as well as more creative and internationally influential.

摘要Maize is amongst the most agriculturally and economically important crops to human beings.It was domesticated from a wild relative called teosinte.During domestication,maize has experienced drastic morphological transformations,such that it produces fewer ears,each of which bears many more kernels covered by soft and reduced glumes.The striking differences between maize and teosinte make the origin of maize ear a fascinating question,which has been fiercely and actively debated for more than a century.Over the past few decades,the discovery of numerous key genes and genetic pathways has greatly deepened our understanding of the mechanisms underlying maize ear development and domestication.In this review,by providing an overview of the morphogenetic processes of maize and teosinte ears,and the molecular mechanisms of maize ear development,we highlight key morphodynamical distinctions between maize and teosinte ears.By recapitulating historical accounts and summarizing recent advances regarding maize domestication,we present the current understanding and propose a model for the origin of maize ear.

摘要Secondary metabolites play fundamental roles in apple,influencing the interaction with pollinators and frugivores for seed dispersal,contributing to fruit quality and promoting human health through their antioxidant property.Domestication and breeding have significantly re-shaped the apple metabolism,altering both aromatic profiles and nutritional properties.This study assessed the secondary metabolite variation in a comprehensive Malus spp.collection comprising 163 accessions belonging to 44 species.The profiling of phenolic and volatile organic compounds(VOCs),performed with Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography(UPLC)and Proton-Transfer-Reaction Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry(PTR-ToF-MS)instruments respectively,in both skin and pulp tissues,uncovered distinct metabolic patterns between wild and domesticated apples.This investigation underlined the higher concentration of these metabolites in the skin tissue and revealed a clear metabolic divergence between the two groups of Malus accessions.Wild Malus spp.accessions resulted particularly rich in specific polyphenols characterized by antioxidant activity,including catechin and procyanidins.Conversely,apples of Malus domestica accessions exhibited a more abundant VOC profile,particularly represented by esters associated with fruity aroma,enhancing sensory appeal.These findings provide a foundation for leveraging wild germplasm in breeding programs,and the identification of accessions with high polyphenolic concentration and desirable aromatic profiles offers valuable opportunities to improve the aromatic and nutraceutical properties of apple.

摘要As the only carnivore domesticated by humans,the evolutionary transition of proto-domestic canids into human-associated niches remains a central unresolved question in domestication biology.Although prior work has emphasized behavioral transformations during domestication,the circadian shift from crepuscular activity in gray wolves to predominantly diurnal patterns in dogs has received comparatively little attention,despite its importance in synchronizing with human daily cycles.This study examined highly diverged loci linked to circadian system remodeling,a putative early domestication trait that likely preceded intentional human selection.Comparative genomic analyses identified NOCT as a candidate domestication gene,characterized by pronounced indel frequency divergence between gray wolves and dogs.Functional assays demonstrated that reduced NOCT expression disrupted circadian rhythmicity and was accompanied by increased myelin sheath formation in the prefrontal cortex.These neurophysiological alterations were associated with marked behavioral shifts,including extended exploratory locomotion,elevated fear and anxiety responses,and enhanced short-term memory.Collectively,these phenotypic outcomes provide empirical support for the self-domestication hypothesis and offer a mechanistic framework explaining how ancestral scavenging wolves gradually adapted to human-modified environments.Furthermore,these findings elucidate a previously underappreciated circadianneurodevelopmental axis in canid domestication and advance understanding of the evolutionary processes that enabled the emergence of dogs as the only carnivore companion species for humans.
摘要A primary anti-predator adaptation is crypsis, in which animals reduce their visibility to predators, often through camouflage, to lower the risk of predation. Alternatively, prey species may employ strategies such as aposematism, which advertises unpalatability, or mimicry, which involves imitating other organisms. Because domestic animals typically experience reduced predation pressure compared with their wild counterparts, they are expected to exhibit less developed cryptic coloration. To test this prediction, we compared dorsal and ventral crypsis between domestic and wild black-spotted frogs(Pelophylax nigromaculatus) using reflectancemeasurement methods. Our results showed that domestic males displayed significantly weaker dorsal crypsis than wild males. In contrast, no statistically significant difference in dorsal crypsis was observed between domestic and wild females. These findings suggest that the reduction in dorsal crypsis among domestic males may be attributable to relaxed predation pressure and shifts in dietary resources within human-modified environments.

摘要In engineering practice of microbial-induced carbonate precipitation(MICP),urease-producing bacteria(UPB)cannot tolerate high-salt concentrations of cementation solution(CS).Increasing the salt tolerance of UPB to CS can improve the efficiency and the application scope of MICP.In order to enhance the salt tolerance of Sporosarcina pasteurii,a gradual salt concentration gradient method was employed for its domestication.Growth characteristics in the domestication medium were evaluated through optical density tests,revealing a slowed growth rate in domesticated bacteria.Furthermore,salt tolerance tests,unconfined compressive strength(UCS)tests,and scanning electron microscopic analyses were conducted to investigate the calcium ion precipitation capacity,strength properties of bio-cemented sand columns,and microstructure of reinforced samples among untamed bacteria(UB),domesticated bacteria(DB),and the control group.The results indicate the following:DB's tolerance to CS salt concentration exhibited an approximate increase of 0.25 mol/L.In the context of high concentration CS conditions,DB-treated samples demonstrated approximately double the UCS in comparison to UB,indicating a more efficient calcium ion precipitation process.Furthermore,DB resulted in a higher proportion of cauliflower-like calcium carbonate crystals under high concentration CS conditions.This crystal morphology is commonly associated with superior mechanical properties.These findings demonstrate that domestication effectively enhances bacterial biomineralization performance in high-salinity environments.
