X-ray diffraction, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller, and transmission electron microscopy were deployed for nanoparticle surface characterization.Mono-dispersed Fe3O4(Fe2O3·Fe O) NPs synthesized with oleic acid(OA) as surfactant, and uncoated poly-dispersed Fe3O4 NPs demonstrated comparable removal efficiencies.Adsorption experiments of BTEX on NPs were measured using gas chromatography equipped with flame ionization detection, which indicated high removal efficiencies(up to(95 ± 2)%) under dry conditions. The humidity effect and competitive adsorption were investigated using toluene as a model compound. It was observed that the removal efficiencies decreased as a function of the increase in RH, yet, under our experimental conditions, we observed(40 ± 4)% toluene removal at supersaturation for Fe3O4 NPs, and toluene removal of(83 ± 4)% to(59 ± 6)%, for OA-Fe3O4 NPs. In the presence of SO2, the toluene uptake was reduced under dry conditions to(89 ± 2)% and(75 ± 1)% for the uncoated and coated NPs, respectively, depicting competitive adsorption. At RH 〉 100%,competitive adsorption reduced the removal efficiency to(27 ± 1)% for uncoated NPs whereas OA-Fe3O4 NPs exhibited moderate efficiency loss of(55 ± 2)% at supersaturation. Results point to heterogeneous water coverage on the NP surface. The magnetic property of magnetite facilitated the recovery of both types of NPs, without the loss in efficiency when recycled and reused.展开更多

The ultrafine Fe_2O_3 nanoparticles in size of 5 nm can be highly dispersed on zeolite Y matrix due to its much better wettability than ZSM-5 and mordenite. By using the obtained Fe_2O_3/zeolite composite as the heterogeneous Fenton-like catalysts, the degradation of phenol as a model reaction was systematically investigated, including the zeolite supports, particle size and dispersion of Fe_2O_3, and reaction conditions of H_2O_2 concentration, temperature, and pH value. The catalyst based on zeolite Y with Fe loading of 9% exhibited the best phenol degradation efficiency (> 90%)in neutral pH within 2 h. Its high catalytic activity in Fenton reaction can be attributed to the bifunctional properties of strong surface BrФnsted acidity and high reactivity of octahedral Fe3+ in the highlydispersed ultrafine Fe_2O_3 nanoparticles in size of 5 nm, which were the primary active centers to quickly decompose H_2O_2 into hydroxyl radicals. Since phenol degradation can be performed under mild conditions of ambient temperature (283-323 K) and a wide pH range (4.0-7.0), the catalysts can be easily recovered for recyclable use with stable degradation activity, which own the immense potential in deep treatment of organic pollutants in industrial wastewater.展开更多

The high production cost of biodiesel and the recovery of the catalyst after the transesterification process are the major challenges to be addressed in biodiesel production. In the present work, a cheap and promising solid base oxide catalyst was synthesized from chicken eggshell by calcination at 900 ℃ forming catalyst eggshells(CES) and was impregnated with the nanomagnetic material(Fe3O4) to obtain Fe3O4 loaded catalytic eggshell(CES–Fe3O4). Fe3O4 nanomaterials were synthesized by co-precipitation method and were loaded in catalytic eggshell by sonication, for better recovery of the catalyst after transesterification process. CES–Fe3O4 material was characterized by Thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, a vibrating-sample magnetometer, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller, Dynamic light scattering, and Scanning electron microscopy. Biodiesel was synthesized by transesterification of Pongamia pinnata raw oil with 1:12 oil to methanol molar ratio and 2 wt% catalyst loading for 2 h at a temperature of 65 ℃ and yields were compared. The reusability of the catalyst was studied by the transesterification of the raw oil and its catalytic activity was found to be retained up to 7 cycles with a yield of 98%.展开更多

Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were studied in this paper and the surface modification of Fe3O4 nanoparticles was investigated by a series of experiments. Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized with pH value, temperature, and the dosage of surfactant. The phase, structure, size and magnetism of nanoparticles were tested by X-ray diffration (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and magnetic balance. On the basis of the surface modification coating mechanism, the experimental phenomena and the effects on the variation of size, magnetism and stability of Fe3O4 nanoparticles were theoretically analyzed. X-Ray diffraction spectrum and TEM photograph show that 1) the nanoparticles structure is perfect, 2) the diameter of narnoparticles is small and have good deliquescence, and 3) Sodium oleate is the anion surfactant. Therefore 1) the good condition of surface modification is in an acidic solution, 2) the best temperature of surface modification is at 80 ℃, and 3) the dosage of surfactant should be about 0.6 times of that of Fe^2+.展开更多

The characterization results indicated that Fe3O4 NPs with regular crystal structure and a narrow of diameters had been synthesized successfully and had high purity. A series of experiments were carried out to investigate the degradation of Orange II by the obtained heterogeneous Fe3O4 catalysts in the presence of H2O2. The response surface methodology(RSM) based on Box–Behnken design(BBD) was employed to design and optimize individual and interactive effects of the four main independent parameters(catalyst loading, initial p H, reaction temperature and H2O2concentration) on decolorization efficiency of Orange II. A significant quadratic model(p-value 〈0.0001, R2= 0.9369) was derived using analysis of variance(ANOVA). Optimum conditions were catalyst loading of 1.5 g/L, initial p H of 2.7, reaction temperature of 42 8C and H2O2 concentration of 22 mmol/L, respectively. The predicted decolorization rate under the optimum conditions as determined by the proposed model was 99.55%. Confirmatory tests were carried out and the decolorization rate of 99.49% was observed under the optimum conditions, which agreed well with the model prediction.展开更多

The magnetic property of magnetite facilitated the recovery of both types of NPs, without the loss in efficiency when recycled and reused.

摘要A versatile wet impregnation method was employed to conveniently and controllably deposit Fe_2O_3 nanoparticles on zeolites including commercial Y, mordenite and ZSM-5 with the similar framework Si/Al ratios and crystal sizes, respectively. Since phenol degradation can be performed under mild conditions of ambient temperature (283-323 K) and a wide pH range (4.0-7.0), the catalysts can be easily recovered for recyclable use with stable degradation activity, which own the immense potential in deep treatment of organic pollutants in industrial wastewater.

摘要The surface organic modification of Fe3O4 nanoparticles with silane coupling reagent KH570 was studied. The modified and unmodified nanoparticles were characterized by FT-IR,XPS and TEM.The spectra of FT-IR and XPS revealed that KH570 was coated onto the surface of Fe3O4 nanoparticles to get Fe-O-Si bond and an organic coating layer also was formed.Fe3O4 nanoparticles were spheres partly with mean size of 18,8 nm studied by TEM,which was consistent with the result 17.9 nm calculated by Scherrer's equation.KH570 was adsorbed on surface and formed chemistry bond to be steric hindrance repulsion which prevented nanoparticles from reuniting. Then glycol-based Fe3O4 magnetic liquids dispersed stably was gained.
摘要Nanofluids because of their surface characteristics improve the oil production from reservoirs by enabling different enhanced recovery mechanisms such as wettability alteration, interfacial tension(IFT)reduction, oil viscosity reduction, formation and stabilization of colloidal systems and the decrease in the asphaltene precipitation. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, the synthesis of a new nanocomposite has been studied in this paper for the first time.It consists of nanoparticles of both SiO2 and Fe3O4.Each nanoparticle has its individual surface property and has its distinct effect on the oil production of reservoirs.According to the previous studies,Fe3O4 has been used in the prevention or reduction of asphaltene precipitation and SiO2 has been considered for wettability alteration and/or reducing IFTs in enhanced oil recovery.According to the experimental results, the novel synthesized nanoparticles have increased the oil recovery by the synergistic effects of the formed particles markedly by activating the various mechanisms relative to the use of each of the nanoparticles in the micromodel individually.According to the results obtained for the use of this nanocomposite, understanding reservoir conditions plays an important role in the ultimate goal of enhancing oil recovery and the formation of stable emulsions plays an important role in oil recovery using this method.
摘要Biodiesel is a green fuel which can replace diesel while addressing various issues such as scarcity of hydrocarbon fuels and environmental pollution to an extent. The reusability of the catalyst was studied by the transesterification of the raw oil and its catalytic activity was found to be retained up to 7 cycles with a yield of 98%.

摘要Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were prepared by co-precipitation of Fe^2+and Fe^3+in an ammonia solution, and its size was about 36 nm measured by an atomic force microscope.Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were modified by L-dopa or dopamine using sonication method. The analysis of FTIR clearly indicated the formation of Fe-O-C bond.Direct immobilization of trypsin(EC:3.4.21.4)on Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles with L-dopa and dopamine spacer was investigated using glutaraldehyde as a coupling agent. No significant changes in the size and magnetic property of the three kinds of magnetic nanoparticles linked with or without trypsin were observed. The existence of the spacer molecule on magnetic nanoparticles could greatly improve the activity and the storage stability of bound trypsin through increasing the flexibility of enzyme and changing the microenvironment on nanoparticles surface compared to the naked magnetic nanoparticles.
摘要The Fe3O4@SiO2 composite nanoparticles were obtained from as-synthesized magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles through the modified St?ber method. Then, the Fe3O4 nanoparticles and Fe3O4@SiO2 composite nanoparticles were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectra, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Recently, the studies focus on how to improve the dispersion of composite particle and achieve good magnetic performance. Hence effects of the volume ratio of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) and magnetite colloid on the structural, morphological and magnetic properties of the composite nanoparticles were systematically investi-gated. The results revealed that the Fe3O4@SiO2 had better thermal stability and dispersion than the magnetite nanoparticles. Furthermore, the particle size and magnetic property of the Fe3O4@SiO2 composite nanoparticles can be adjusted by changing the volume ratio of TEOS and magnetite colloid.

摘要Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles with diameters varying from 10 to 426 nm were synthesized and characterized.Heating effects of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles under radiofrequency capacitive field(RCF) with frequency of 27.12 MHz and power of 60-150 W were investigated. When the power of RCF is lower than 90 W,temperatures of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles(75-150 mg/mL) can be raised and maximal temperatures are all lower than 50 ℃.When the power of RCF is 90-150 W,temperatures of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles can be quickly raised and are all obviously higher than those of normal saline and distilled water under the same conditions.Temperature of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles can even reach 70.2 ℃ under 150 W RCF.Heating effects of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles are related to RCF power, particle size and particle concentration.

摘要The local detection of magnetic domains of isolated 10 nm Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles(MNPs) has been achieved by field-variable magnetic force microscopy(MFM) with high spatial resolution. The domain configuration of an individual MNP shows a typical dipolar response. The magnetization reversal of MNP domains is governed by a coherent rotation mechanism, which is consistent with the theoretical results given by micromagnetic calculations.Present results suggest that the field-variable MFM has great potential in providing nanoscale magnetic information on magnetic nanostructures, such as nanoparticles, nanodots, skyrmions, and vortices, with high spatial resolution. This is crucial for the development and application of magnetic nanostructures and devices.
摘要Nanometer particles are important portion of magnetic fluid. Therefore 1) the good condition of surface modification is in an acidic solution, 2) the best temperature of surface modification is at 80 ℃, and 3) the dosage of surfactant should be about 0.6 times of that of Fe^2+.

摘要In this study, Fe3O4nanoparticles(Fe3O4NPs) were successfully prepared via oxidation–precipitation method and characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR). Confirmatory tests were carried out and the decolorization rate of 99.49% was observed under the optimum conditions, which agreed well with the model prediction.

摘要A facile method for synthesis of the magnetic Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles was introduced.Magnetic nanoparticles were prepared via co-precipitation method with(PMF) and without(AMF) 0.15 T static magnetic field. The effects of magnetic field on the properties of magnetic nanoparticles were studied by XRD,TEM,SEM,VSM and BET.The results showed that the magnetic field in the co-precipitation reaction process did not result in the phase change of the Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles but improved the crystallinity. The morphology of Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles was varied from random spherical particles to rod-like cluster structure. The VSM results indicated that the saturation magnetization value of the Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles was significantly improved by the magnetic field. The BET of Fe_3O_4nanoparticles prepared with the magnetic field was larger than the control by 23.5%.The batch adsorption experiments of Mn(Ⅱ) on the PMF and AMF Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles showed that the Mn(II) equilibrium capacity was increased with the pH value increased. At pH 8,the Mn(Ⅱ) adsorption capacity for the PMF and AMF Fe_3O_4 was reached at 36.81 and 28.36 mg·g-1,respectively.The pseudo-second-order model fitted better the kinetic models and the Freundlich model fitted isotherm model well for both PMF and AMF Fe_3O_4.The results suggested that magnetic nanoparticles prepared by the magnetic field presented a fairly good potential as an adsorbent for an efficient removal of Mn(Ⅱ) from aqueous solution.

摘要[ Objective] The study aims at developing a novel fluorescence enhancement method to determine anionic surfactants. [ Method] Based on Fe3O4 @ PAA-RB fluorescent nanoparticles as fluorescent probes, we have developed a novel fluorescence enhancement method for the determi- nation of an anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) through the gradual optimization of experiment conditions. [ Result] Under the opti- mum conditions, the extent of fluorescence enhancement is directly proportional to SDS concentration varying from 0.5 to 16.0 μmol/L, and the de- tection limit reaches 0.051 μmol/L. The relative standard deviation (RSD) for 4.0 μmol/L SDS is 3.3% ( n =6). The proposed method has been successfully applied to the determination of SDS in environmental water samples, with recovery of 96.3% -105.5%. E Conclusion] The novel fluo- rescence enhancement method is not only simple and rapid, but also has avoided using tedious solvent-extraction and toxic organic solvents.
