Nano TiO2/Fe3O4 composite particles with different molar ratios of TiO2 to Fe3O4 were prepared via sol-gel method. X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and vibration sample magnetometry were used to characterize the TiO2/Fe3O4 particles. The photocatalytic activity of the particles was tested by degrading methyl blue solution under UV illumination (254 nm). The results indicate that with the content of TiO2 increasing, the photocatalytic activity of the composite particles enhances, while the magnetism of the particles decreases. When the molar ratio of TiO2 to Fe3O4 is about 8, both the photocatalytic activity and magnetism of the TiO2/Fe3O4 particles are relatively high, and their photocatalytic activity remains well after repeated use. 展开更多

Aluminum-matrix boron carbide (B4Cp/Al) is a kind of neutron absorbing material widely used in nuclear spent fuel storage. In order to improve the tensile property of B4Cp/Al composites, a new type of nano-Al2O3 particle (Al2O3np) reinforced B4Cp/Al + Al2O3np composites were prepared by powder metallurgy method. The Monte Carlo particle transport program (MCNP) was used to determine the influence of Al2O3np on the thermal neutron absorptivity of composites. The universal material testing machine and scanning electron microscope (SEM) were used to study the mechanical properties, microstructure and fracture morphology of B4Cp/Al composites. The results indicated that the neutron absorption properties of B4Cp/Al composites were not affected by the addition of nano-Al2O3 particles in the range of 1 wt%-15 wt%. The addition of Al2O3np can obviously reduce the grain size of B4Cp/Al matrix metals thus improve the tensile strength of the composites. The addition threshold of Al2O3np is about 2.5 wt%. Both B4Cp and Al2O3np change the fracture characteristics of the composites from toughness to brittleness, and the latter is more important. 展开更多

One-dimensional and quasi-one-dimensional nanostructure materials are promising building blocks for electromagnetic devices and nanosystems.In this work,the composite Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4(NZFO)/Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3(PZT)nanofibers with average diameters about 65 nm are prepared by electrospinning from poly(vinyl pyrrolidone)(PVP)and metal salts.The precursor composite NZFO/PZT/PVP nanofibers and the subsequent calcined NZFO/PZT nanofibers are investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The magnetic properties for nanofibers are measured by vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM).The NZFO/PZT nanofibers obtained at calcination temperature of 900°C for 2 h consist of the ferromagnetic spinel NZFO and ferroelectric perovskite PZT phases,which are constructed from about 37 nm NZFO and 17 nm PZT grains.The saturation magnetization of these NZFO/PZT nanofibers increases with increasing calcination temperature and contents of NZFO in the composite. 展开更多

A novel fluorescent probe for H_2PO_4^- was designed and fabricated based on the carbon dots/Fe^(3+) composite. The carbon dots were synthesized by an established one-pot hydrothermal method and characterized by transmission electron microscope, X-ray diffractometer, UV-Vis absorption spectrometer and fluorescence spectrophotometer. The carbon dots/Fe^(3+) composite was obtained by aqueous mixing of carbon dots and FeCl_3, and its fluorescence property was characterized by fluorescence spectrophotometer. The fluorescence of carbon dots was quenched by aqueous Fe^(3+) cations, resulting in the low fluorescence intensity of the carbon dots/Fe^(3+) composite. On the other hand, H_2PO_4^- reduced the concentration of Fe^(3+) by chemical reaction and enhanced the fluorescence of the carbon dots/Fe^(3+) composite. The Stern-Volmer equation was introduced to describe the relation between the relative fluorescence intensity of the carbon dots/Fe^(3+) composite and the concentration of H_2PO_4^-, and a fine linearity(R2=0.997) was found in the range of H_2PO_4^- concentration of 0.4-12 m M. 展开更多

In this paper,magnetic composite Fe3 O4/CeO2(MC Fe/Ce) was synthesized via CeO2 covered onto the surface of Fe3O4 by sol-precipitation method.The as-synthesized samples were characterized by FE-SEM,XRD,SEM-EDS and FT-IR spectrum.The pseudo-second-order(PSO) kinetic can describe well the adsorption of Acid black 210(AB210) onto the as-obtained MC Fe/Ce of which the adsorption isotherm fits the Langmuir adsorption model better than Freundlich adsorption model.Furthermore,the maximum monolayer adsorption capacity of MC Fe/Ce is about 93 mg/g,which is 6 times more than that of commercial CeO2 for AB210.Moreover,the removal rate of the adsorbates for AB210 is 82.3% after first adsorption and still about 70% the fourth forth adsorption experiments within 120 min,which demonstrates that the obtained MC Fe/Ce has outstanding adsorption capacity and good stability.Additionally,the composite can be easily separated from aqueous solution in a few seconds with an external magnetic field due to its magnetic property,which is vital and has potential for its practical applications. 展开更多

The purpose of this study is to explore the adsorption performance of meso-2,3-dimercaptosuccinic acid(DMSA)modified Fe3O4@SiO2 magnetic nanocomposite(Fe3O4@SiO2@DMSA)for Pb2+ions removal from aqueous solutions.The effects of solution pH,initial concentration of Pb2+ions,contact time,and temperature on the amount of Pb2+adsorbed were investigated.Adsorption isotherms,adsorption kinetics,and thermodynamic analysis were also studied.The results showed that the maximum adsorption capacity of the Fe3O4@SiO2@DMSA composite is 50.5 mg/g at 298 K,which is higher than that of Fe3O4 and Fe3O4@SiO2 magnetic nanoparticles.The adsorption process agreed well with Langmuir adsorption isotherm models and pseudo second-order kinetics.The thermodynamic analysis revealed that the adsorption was spontaneous,endothermic and energetically driven in nature. 展开更多

MnO2-impregnated carbon-coated Fe3 O4(Fe3O4/C/MnO2)nanocomposites with a good core-shell structure were prepared by direct oxidation of carbon-coated Fe3 O4(Fe3O4/C)microspheres with KMnO4 in alkaline solution and applied to adsorb bovine serum albumin(BSA).X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscope(TEM),Fourier transform infrared spectrometer(FTIR),vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM)and thermogravimetric analyzer(TGA)tests show that Fe3O4/C microspheres were newly functionalized via the oxidation by KMnO4.Fe3O4/C/MnO2 nanocomposites exhibit a higher adsorption capacity for BSA than Fe3O4/C microspheres and the maximum adsorption of BSA on them occurs at pH 4.7,which is the isoelectric point of BSA.Langmuir isotherm model describes the adsorption of BSA better than Freundlich model and Temkin model,and the kinetics data fit well with the pseudo-second-order model. 展开更多

A Y2O3 particle enhanced Ni/TiC composite coating was fabricated in-situ on a TC4 Ti alloy by laser surface cladding.The phase component,microstructure,composition distribution and properties of the composite layer were investigated.The composite layer has graded microstructures and compositions,due to the fast melting followed by rapid solidification and cooling during laser cladding.The TiC powders are completely dissolved into the melted layer during melting and segregated as fine dendrites when solidified.The size of TiC dendrites decreases with increasing depth.Y2O3 fine particles distribute in the whole clad layer.The Y2O3 particle enhanced Ni/TiC composite layer has a quite uniform hardness along depth with a maximum value of HV1380,which is 4 times higher than the initial hardness.The wear resistance of the Ti alloy is significantly improved after laser cladding due to the high hardness of the composite coating. 展开更多

通过溶胶-凝胶法、水热法和煅烧法,成功制备出具有光催化活性的Fe3O4@TiO2磁性纳米复合材料,将超顺磁性的Fe3O4与TiO2复合,实现材料的快速回收与可见光响应能力的结合。进一步将Fe3O4@TiO2磁性纳米复合材料应用于Cr(Ⅵ)的去除,实验结果... 通过溶胶-凝胶法、水热法和煅烧法,成功制备出具有光催化活性的Fe3O4@TiO2磁性纳米复合材料,将超顺磁性的Fe3O4与TiO2复合,实现材料的快速回收与可见光响应能力的结合。进一步将Fe3O4@TiO2磁性纳米复合材料应用于Cr(Ⅵ)的去除,实验结果表明,在可见光照射下Fe3O4@TiO2对Cr(Ⅵ)的去除能力是P25的1.96倍。并深入探究了Fe3O4@TiO2中TiO2含量、Cr(Ⅵ)溶液的pH以及空穴去除剂对Fe3O4@TiO2可见光下光催化还原Cr(Ⅵ)能力的影响,实验表明当Fe3O4@TiO2中TiO2含量为1.0g/g,添加甲酸作为空穴去除剂并且溶液pH=2时Fe3O4@TiO2对Cr(Ⅵ)的去除能力最佳,此条件下Cr(Ⅵ)的去除率达到99.85%,重复使用4次,催化能力依然保持较高水平。此外,Fe3O4@TiO2对5~500mg/L浓度范围内的Cr(Ⅵ)都具有良好的去除能力。Fe3O4@TiO2磁性纳米复合材料对Cr(Ⅵ)具备优异的去除能力,具有良好的应用前景。 展开更多

Therefore, it is very urgent to find a solution to improve the light corro... Ag3PO4 is widely used in the field of photocatalysis because of its unique activity. However, photocorrosion limits its practical application. Therefore, it is very urgent to find a solution to improve the light corrosion resistance of Ag3PO4. Herein, the Z-scheme WO3(H2O)0.333/Ag3PO4 composites are successfully prepared through microwave hydrothermal and simple stirring. The WO3(H2O)0.333/Ag3PO4 composites are characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and UV-Vis spectroscopy. In the degradation of organic pollutants, WO3(H2O)0.333/Ag3PO4 composites exhibit excellent performance under visible light. This is mainly attributed to the synergy of WO3(H2O)0.333 and Ag3PO4. Especially, the photocatalytic activity of 15%WO3(H2O)0.333/Ag3PO4 is the highest, and the methylene blue can be completely degraded in 4 min. In addition, the stability of the composites is also greatly enhanced. After five cycles of testing, the photocatalytic activity of 15%WO3(H2O)0.333/Ag3PO4 is not obviously decreased. However, the degradation efficiency of Ag3PO4 was only 20.2%. This indicates that adding WO3(H2O)0.333 can significantly improve the photoetching resistance of Ag3PO4. Finally, Z-scheme photocatalytic mechanism is investigated. 展开更多

为解决TiO_2光催化纳米材料在使用过程中不易回收的问题,采用直接水解法成功制备了磁性核壳结构Fe_3O_4@TiO_2纳米材料,采用扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、透射电子显微镜(TEM)、X-射线衍射仪(XRD)、傅里叶变换红外光谱仪(FT-IR)等对其物理化学... 为解决TiO_2光催化纳米材料在使用过程中不易回收的问题,采用直接水解法成功制备了磁性核壳结构Fe_3O_4@TiO_2纳米材料,采用扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、透射电子显微镜(TEM)、X-射线衍射仪(XRD)、傅里叶变换红外光谱仪(FT-IR)等对其物理化学特性进行了表征,并且考察了制备工艺条件,如钛酸四丁酯(TBOT)用量、氨水用量、反应温度、反应时间等因素对Fe_3O_4@TiO_2纳米颗粒光催化效果的影响。结果表明,TiO_2在Fe_3O_4颗粒表面进行了有效的包覆,形成了良好的包覆层,优化后制备工艺条件为:TBOT用量1.0 m L、氨水用量0.3 m L、制备温度85℃、制备时间4h,所得Fe_3O_4@TiO_2纳米材料对罗丹明B的催化降解效率明显提高,罗丹明B降解率达到98%。对负载前后纳米颗粒的磁滞回线进行测试发现,TiO_2的包覆并未明显减弱Fe_3O_4的磁性,所制备的可回收磁性Fe_3O_4@TiO_2催化剂具有良好的稳定性和重复利用性能。 展开更多

The Fe3O4@SiO2 composite nanoparticles were obtained from as-synthesized magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles through the modified St?ber method. Then, the Fe3O4 nanoparticles and Fe3O4@SiO2 composite nanoparticles were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectra, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Recently, the studies focus on how to improve the dispersion of composite particle and achieve good magnetic performance. Hence effects of the volume ratio of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) and magnetite colloid on the structural, morphological and magnetic properties of the composite nanoparticles were systematically investi-gated. The results revealed that the Fe3O4@SiO2 had better thermal stability and dispersion than the magnetite nanoparticles. Furthermore, the particle size and magnetic property of the Fe3O4@SiO2 composite nanoparticles can be adjusted by changing the volume ratio of TEOS and magnetite colloid. 展开更多

Fe3O4/T-ZnOw composites are fabricated by depositing a layer of Fe3O4 film on the surface of tetrapod-shaped ZnO whisker (T-ZnOw) by ferrite plating method. The morphology, structure and magnetic properties of the composites are characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and vibrating-sample magnetometer (VSM), respectively. The effects of temperature and pH value of fertile plating on the Fe3O4/T-ZnOw composites and the magnetic properties of composites are studied. It is shown that the chemical enviromnent with pH value at 7.5 is most favorable for the ferrite plating processes by analyzing the main peaks intensity of Fe3O4 in the XRD patterns and the average diameters of the Fe3O4 crystalline. The increase of the ferrite plating temperature with pH value around 7.5 benefits the whole encapsulation of T-ZnOw by the Fe3O4 magnetic films. The composites exhibit ferromagnetic properties and show much lower magnetization intensity than bulk samples at the same magnetic field intensity. 展开更多

Reduced graphene oxide-Fe3O4(rGO—Fe3O4) composite has been prepared via a facile and effective hydrothermal method by synthesizing Fe3O4 nanospheres on the planes of reduced graphene oxide(rGO).Characterizations suggest the successful attachment of Fe3O4 nanospheres to rGO sheets.The rGO—Fe3O4composite(66.7 wt%of Fe3O4 in the composite) exhibits a stable capacity of 668 mAh g-1 without noticeable fading for up to 200 cycles in the voltage range of 0.001—3.0 V,and the superior performance of rGO-Fe3O4 is clearly established by comparison of the results with those from bare Fe3O4 nanospheres(capacity declined to 117 mAh g-1 only at the 200 th cycle).The excellent electrochemical performance of rGO—Fe3O4 composite can be attributed to the fact that the uniform dispersion of the Fe3O4 nanospheres growing on the rGO sheets avoids aggregation during Li uptake-release cycling,which is desired for cycle stability.Meanwhile,the rGO sheets afford not only elastic buffer to alleviate the volume variations of Fe3O4nanospheres,but also good ionic and electronic transport medium in the electrode. 展开更多

Ni-Co-Fe2O3 composite coatings were electrodeposited using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB)-modified Watt's nickel bath with Fe2O3 particles dispersed in it.The effects of the plating parameters on the chemical composition,structural and morphological characteristics of the electrodeposited Ni-Co-Fe2O3 composite coatings were investigated by energy dispersive X-ray(EDS) spectroscopy,X-ray diffractometry(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The results reveal that Fe2O3 particles can be codeposited in the Ni-Co matrix.The codeposition of Fe2O3 particles with Ni-Co is favoured at high Fe2O3 particle concentration and medium stirring,and the deposition of Co is favoured at high concentration of CTAB.Moreover,the study of the textural perfection of the deposits reveals that the presence of particles leads to the worsening of the quality of the observed preferred orientation.Composites with high concentration of embedded particles exhibit a preferred crystal orientation of .The more the embedded Fe2O3 particles in the metallic matrix,the smaller the sizes of the crystallite for the composite deposits. 展开更多
