By comparing with the calibrated normalized resolution product(r*) and the hierarchical chromatographic response function(HCRF), the validity of this criterion was demonstrated by experimental chromatograms. The soy isoflavone extract was selected as the analytical object. The initial and end percentages of methanol and elution time affecting gradient elution were tested by orthogonal design. The final optimized conditions were as follows. It was detected by UV absorbance at 254 nm, column temperature was maintained at 36 oC, solvent A was 0.1%(v/v) acetic acid, solvent B was methanol, gradient elution was from 34% to 65% B in a linear gradient in 25 min, and the flow-rate was set at 1.0 m L/min. In addition, the main ingredients of the soy isoflavone extract were confirmed by LC-ESI/MS.展开更多

The optimized TiO2:Eu3+ (5 mol%) NPs can be used as fluorescent labeling agent for visualizing of latent fingerprints(LFPs) on various porous and non-porous surfaces. The obtained results exhibit well defined ridge details with high sensitivity, selectivity, and low background hindrance which show greater advantages as compared to conventional powders. We demonstrated the viability of high-performance security labels thorough excellent luminescence for practical anti-mimetic applications. Morphology of the prepared samples is highly dependent on pH, concentration of the bio-surfactant, temperature and time durations.Photoluminescence(PL) emission spectra exhibit intense red emission at ~ 615 nm due to electric dipole transition(~5 D_0/~7 F_2). Photometric(CIE and CCT) results clearly show the intense warm red emission of the optimized samples. Therefore, this work offers a superior and universal luminescent label, which can be applied to visualize miniature LFPs particulars for individualization and consequently display great prospective in forensic investigation.展开更多

However, due to the limit of current imaging technologies and instruments, recognition and matching of fingerprints are mostly based on their level 2 structures(bifurcation, crossover, and etc.).Moreover, in real-world cases, fingerprints collected in the field are often incomplete or damaged, which adds further difficulty in fingerprint analysis. Quantum dots(QDs) are superior fluorescent imaging agents for latent fingerprints, which can provide both level 2 and level 3(sweat pores) details. Here, we used red-emitting N-acetylcysteine-capped Cd Te QDs as imaging agent for staining of eccrine LFPs. The numbers of level 2 and level 3 features that can be mapped are significantly larger than those obtained by cyanoacrylate fuming, a standard technique being adopted at forensic scene. Therefore, the level 2 and level 3 characteristics from QD-staining were simultaneously extracted for improved fingerprint analysis.A preliminary fingerprint matching based modified Pore Matching algorithm was thus developed based on the integration of both level 2 and level 3 characteristics. Satisfactory results of fingerprint matching were obtained, demonstrating the advantage of the QD-staining for advanced fingerprint analysis.展开更多

A total of forty-one compounds were identified by HPLC-DAD-Q-TOF-MS and phytochemical methods in V. paradoxa nutshell methanol extract. Based on HPLC fingerprints, four characteristic constituents were quantified and the origin of twenty-eight V. paradoxa nutshells from seven sub-Saharan countries was compared, which were classified into three groups with chemometric method. Twenty-eight samples contained high total phenolic content, and exhibited moderate-higher antioxidant activity and strong α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. Furthermore, all fractions and isolated compounds were evaluated for their antioxidant and α-glucosidase inhibitory activities, and α-glucosidase inhibitory action mechanism of four characteristic constituents including protocatechuic acid, 3, 5, 7-trihydroxycoumarin,(2 R, 3 R)-(+)-taxifolin and quercetin was investigated via molecular docking method, which were all stabilized by hydrogen bonds with α-glucosidase. The study provided an effective approach to waste utilization of V. paradoxa nutshell, which would help to resolve waste environmental pollution and provide a basis for developing potential herbal resource for treating diabetes.展开更多

Despite the importance of this storage, uncertainties remain about the molecular characteristics of soil organic matter(SOM), a key factor governing the stability of soil organic carbon(SOC). In this study, the molecular fingerprints of SOM in a typical freshwater wetland in Northeast China were investigated using pyrolysis gas-chromatography/mass-spectrometry technology(Py-GC/MS). Results indicated that the SOC, total nitrogen(TN),and total sulfur contents of the cores varied between 16.88% and 45.83%, 0.93% and 2.82%, and 1.09% and 3.79%, respectively. The bulk δ^13C and δ^15N varied over a range of 9.85‰, between –26.85‰ and –17.00‰, and between –0.126‰ and 1.002‰, respectively. A total of 134 different pyrolytic products were identified, and they were grouped into alkyl(including n-alkanes(C:0) and n-alkenes(C:1),aliphatics(Al), aromatics(Ar), lignin(Lg), nitrogen-containing compounds(Nc), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs), phenols(Phs), polysaccharides(Ps), and sulfur-containing compounds(Sc). On average, Phs moieties accounted for roughly 24.11% peak areas of the total pyrolysis products, followed by Lg(19.27%), alkyl(18.96%), other aliphatics(12.39%), Nc compounds(8.08%), Ps(6.49%), aromatics(6.32%), Sc(3.26%), and PAHs(1.12%). Soil organic matter from wetlands had more Phs and Lg and less Nc moieties in pyrolytic products than soil organic matters from forests, lake sediments, pastures, and farmland.δ^13 C distribution patterns implied more C3 plant-derived soil organic matter, but the vegetation was in succession to C4 plant from C3 plant. Significant negative correlations between Lg or Ps proportions and C3 plant proportions were observed. Multiple linear analyses implied that the Ar and Al components had negative effects on SOC. Alkyl and Ar could facilitate ratios between SOC and total nitrogen(C/N), while Al plays the opposite role. Al was positively related to the ratio of dissolved organic carbon(DOC) to SOC. In summary, SOM of wetlands might characterize by more Phs and lignin and less Nc moieties in pyrolytic products. The use of Pyrolysis gas-chromatography/mass-spectrometry(Py-GC/MS) technology provided detailed information on the molecular characteristics of SOM from a typical freshwater wetland.展开更多

摘要Carbonate radical is among the most important environmental relevant reactive species which govern the transformation and fate of pharmaceutical contaminants(PCs).However, reaction rate constants between carbonate radical and most of the PCs have not been experimentally determined, and quantitative structural-activity relationships(QSARs)have not been established for rate estimation. This study applied Max Min data processing method and used molecular fingerprints(MF)as the input of a deep neural network(DNN)to predict the rate constants between carbonate radical and organic compounds.MF parameters and the hyper-structure of the DNN were adjusted to yield satisfactory accuracy of rate prediction. The vector length of 512 bits with radius of 1 for MF and 5 hidden layers gave the best performance. The optimized MaxMin-MF-DNN model was compared with some of the most commonly used QSARs and machine learning methods, including random data splitting, molecular descriptors, supporting vector machine, decision tree, etc. Results showed that the MF-DNN model out-performed the other methods by more than 10%increase in prediction accuracy.Applying this MF-DNN model,we estimated reaction rates between carbonate radical and pharmaceuticals used in human medicine(1576)and veterinary practice(390).Among them,46 drugs were identified as fast-reacting compounds, suggesting the important relations of their environmental fate with carbonate radical.

摘要In this paper, we proposed a novel resolution criterion(improved calibrated normalized resolution product, r*') to evaluate separation quality of fingerprints. In addition, the main ingredients of the soy isoflavone extract were confirmed by LC-ESI/MS.
摘要In the present work, TiO2:Eu3+ (1 mol%e11 mol%) nano powders(NPs) were prepared via a facile one-pot hydrothermal method by using Epigallocatechin Gallate(EGCG) as bio-surfactant. Therefore, this work offers a superior and universal luminescent label, which can be applied to visualize miniature LFPs particulars for individualization and consequently display great prospective in forensic investigation.

摘要Fingerprints are unique and life-long to everyone, so they occupy very important statuses in forensic science. Satisfactory results of fingerprint matching were obtained, demonstrating the advantage of the QD-staining for advanced fingerprint analysis.

摘要The aim of the study was to determine the feasibility of the Vitellaria paradoxa nutshell as a new medicinal resource for treating diabetes. The study provided an effective approach to waste utilization of V. paradoxa nutshell, which would help to resolve waste environmental pollution and provide a basis for developing potential herbal resource for treating diabetes.
摘要Identification of victims following a mass fatality is conducted by collecting and analysing a series of scientific identifiers and contextual information of each decedent.Recently, there has been a paradigm shift demanding that this complex identification process be accelerated to meet the needs of the surviving families, politicians and even the media.Postmortem fingerprint identification is a fast and efficient means of victim identification, and through the use of new advances in technology, the digital capture of fingerprints in a disaster victim identification(DVI)setting will play a strong role. This paper provides an overview of current technology and explains how this technology can adapt to current DVI procedures. The Malaysian Airlines Flight 17(MH17)incident is a recent example of a DVI event that utilized new digital fingerprint capture technology and further demonstrates why such technology is warranted in future mass fatality operations.

摘要This study introduces an innovative contour detection algorithm,PeakCET,designed for rapid and efficient analysis of natural product image fingerprints using comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatogram(GC×GC).This method innovatively combines contour edge tracking with affinity propagation(AP)clustering for peak detection in GC×GC fingerprints, the first in this field.Contour edge tracking signif-icantly reduces false positives caused by“burr”signals, while AP clustering enhances detection accuracy in the face of false negatives. The efficacy of this approach is demonstrated using three medicinal products derived from Curcuma wenyujin.PeakCET not only performs contour detection but also employs inter-group peak matching and peak-volume percentage calculations to assess the compositional similarities and differences among various samples.Furthermore, this algorithm compares the GC×GC fingerprints of Radix/Rhizoma Curcumae Wenyujin with those of products from different botanical origins. The findings reveal that genetic and geographical factors influence the accumulation of secondary metabolites in various plant tissues. Each sample exhibits unique characteristic components alongside common ones, and vari-ations in content may influence their therapeutic effectiveness. This research establishes a foundational data-set for the quality assessment of Curcuma products and paves the way for the application of computer vision techniques in two-dimensional(2D)fingerprint analysis of GC×GC data.

摘要Natural wetlands are known to store huge amounts of organic carbon in their soils. The use of Pyrolysis gas-chromatography/mass-spectrometry(Py-GC/MS) technology provided detailed information on the molecular characteristics of SOM from a typical freshwater wetland.

摘要A high-performance liquid chromatography coupled ultraviolet (HPLC-UV) method was developed for a chemical fingerprint analysis of Viscum coloratura. Eighteen peaks were selected as the common peaks and Homoeriodictyol-7-O-β-D-apiosiyl-(1→2)-β-D-glucoside was used as a reference. The relative areas of common peaks were used for hierarchical clustering analysis and similarity calculation. Thirty-seven samples collected from different sources were classified into five groups. The similarities of 21 batches Viscum coloratura samples were beyond 0.90. The results obtained suggest that the chromatographic fingerprint can efficiently identify Viscum coloratum. Additionally, the fingerprints can then be used to evaluate the correlation between Viscum coloratura and hosts.

摘要Among the emitters in powder dusting to visualize the latent fingerprints(LFPs),aggregation-induced emission luminogens(AIEgens)are well employed for their high brightness and resistance to photobleaching. However, the serious background interference and low resolution still limit their fast development. Therefore,to further enhance the signal-to-noise ratio in LFPs imaging, especially to improve the analysis for level 3 details,donor-acceptor(D-A)typed AIEgens of DTPA-2,3-P,DTPA-2,5-P and DTPA-2,6-P are designed here.It is observed that strong emission covering from 450nm to 650nm can be obtained for all these molecules, especially that a high PLQY value of 10.06%in solids is achieved in DTPA-2,3-P.This is much higher than that of the other two cases(0.80%and 0.51%).By utilizing the DTPA-2,3-P in powder dusting, fluorescence imaging of LFPs can be clearly captured on both smooth and rough substrates. Moreover, confocal laser scanning microscope(CLSM)enables us to achieve high-resolution LFPs imaging in both 2D and 3D views, providing more detailed information of fingerprints pores in width, distance, distribution, and shapes. The results here demonstrate that highly emissive AIEgen of DTPA-2,3-P could be an excellent candidate for the visualization of fingerprints, thus providing the potential application in criminal investigation in the future.
