Currently,investigations of the color attributes of Foshan Woodblock New Year Paintings are limited to qualitative descriptions,devoid of objective quantitative data backing.Their color solutions fail to satisfy the distribution and creative requirements of the digital era.This study intends to utilize K-means clustering to calculate and analyze the color properties of Foshan Woodblock New Year Paintings.Incorporating contemporary display standards,this study examines color palettes consistent with traditional New Year Paintings culture.Firstly,a dataset consisting of 127 photos categorized into 6 principal types of Foshan Woodblock New Year Paintings was assembled.Images were subjected to pre-processing,which included color correction and noise reduction.Then,following the conversion of data from RGB to HSV color space to extract pixel vectors,the K-means algorithm was implemented with a specified K value for clustering.Primary colors were derived from both the comprehensive information and specific groups to create color schemes.Ultimately,in light of contemporary digital display attributes,the S and V values of cluster centers were moderately modified while maintaining conventional color characteristics to augment visual impact in digital distribution.The clustering results showed that Foshan Woodblock New Year Paintings display attributes of high saturation and pronounced value contrast,with prominent colors primarily consisting of high-saturation reds.This resulted in one comprehensive color scheme and six categorized schemes.This study offers methodological assistance for the quantitative analysis of New Year painting colors,providing practical recommendations for the innovative distribution of traditional New Year Paintings in contemporary media,and is crucial for the preservation and transmission of intangible cultural heritage. 展开更多

To adapt to national climate change strategies,understanding the thermal vulnerability of urban functional zones(UFZs)is critical for enhancing the livability and sustainable development of cities.We address the limitations of existing thermal vulnerability assessments by incorporating human perception into the analysis.Specifically,we introduce the sky openness index to reflect human perception of the thermal environment and examine variations in thermal vulnerability across different UFZs.Using the Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost)-SHapley Additive exPlanations(SHAP)model,we analyze the contributions of 2D and 3D urban form indicators to thermal vulnerability and link these contributions to the unique needs and vulnerability characteristics of UFZs of Foshan City,China in 2023.The results reveal that:1)high-value heat-fragile areas(1.74–2.00]constitute 10.42%of Foshan City;2)traffic zone and publiccommercial zone exhibit the highest levels of thermal vulnerability;and 3)building height and the normalized building index are the most influential factors,with contributions of|0.06|and|0.03|,respectively.We provide a scientific foundation for developing governance strategies to promote urban resilience. 展开更多

Driven by climate change,viral evolution,intensified human mobility,and increasing population susceptibility,mosquito-borne diseases are extending their geographic range and public health impact worldwide.The 2025 chikungunya outbreak in Foshan,Guangdong Province,provided a critical real-world assessment of the province's local surveillance and emergency response system.This commentary aims to elucidate the effectiveness,strengths,and limitations of Foshan's outbreak response,and to identify lessons for strengthening early warning and vectorborne disease preparedness.Containment was achieved within three weeks through coordinated multi-sectoral emergency activation,rapid case detection,and precision vector control.However,the response also exposed systemic vulnerabilities,including delayed activation of warning mechanisms,limitations in entomological surveillance,and deficiencies in multi-source data integration.Addressing these gaps will require establishing a multi-source,data-driven early warning system;institutionalizing standardized cross-border surveillance and response protocols;expanding genomic and epidemiological research capacity;and strengthening research capacities and workforce resources from a global perspective to enhance global preparedness against emerging mosquito-borne diseases. 展开更多

This paper focuses on the practice of building ceramics industry in Foshan City in the clean energy transition from coal to gas,and discusses the challenges and solutions in the transition process.As an important base of China’s building ceramics industry,Foshan City’s energy transformation is of great importance to regional energy security and environmental protection.This paper summarizes the practical background and effect of Foshan’s energy transformation and points out the challenges in the process of natural gas supply stability,technological renewal,and market competition.By comparing the experience of coal to gas at home and abroad,the paper summarizes the enlightenment of policy promotion,technological innovation,and upstream and downstream cooperation in the industrial chain.Based on this,the paper puts forward policy suggestions on strengthening policy support and supervision,promoting technological innovation,and research and development.Finally,it emphasizes the importance of promoting energy transformation to Foshan’s sustainable development and puts forward practical solutions. 展开更多

Under the guidance of national policies,the“coal to gas”project has become one of the important measures to promote the transformation of energy structure in China.Foshan,an important industrial town in Guangdong province,the implementation of the“coal to gas”policy has demonstrated significance for the optimization of the national energy structure.Through the analysis of the change in Foshan’s energy consumption structure and the implementation of the policy,this paper found that there were some challenges in the policy implementation process,such as high economic cost,lagging infrastructure,low social acceptance,and lack of technical personnel.To address this,suggestions are put forward,including increasing financial subsidies,improving laws and regulations,promoting technological innovation,and encouraging social inclusion policies.These recommendations aim to provide guidance and reference for the remaining“coal to gas”projects and the development of clean energy. 展开更多

Digital industrial clusters are a core driver of high-quality regional economic development.Building on its strong manufacturing base,Foshan has actively developed digital industrial clusters,yet still faces practical challenges such as insufficient collaboration and digital imbalance.Based on complex network theory,this study employs a mixed-methods approach by combining the DBSCAN spatial clustering algorithm,questionnaire surveys,and multiple case studies,to examine the characteristics,challenges,and development pathways of Foshan’s digital industrial clusters.The findings reveal that Foshan’s digital industrial clusters exhibit a three-tier hierarchical structure of‘core,intermediate,and small’clusters.Core clusters are concentrated in Chancheng District,demonstrating combined advantages in quantity,scale,and density.However,the cluster development faces several prominent issues:micro and small enterprises constitute over 55% of the total,yet their digital coverage rate is only 12%;product homogenization leads to intense competition;significant disparities exist among enterprises in the timing and investment of digital transformation;and collaboration barriers arise from over-reliance on core enterprises and insufficient resource sharing.Accordingly,this study proposes recommendations including optimizing the clusters’hierarchical functions,constructing collaborative innovation platforms,implementing differentiated support policies,and deepening industry-university-research cooperation.The aim is to provide practical references for Foshan to overcome the dilemma of clusters being“physically agglomerated but not functionally integrated”and to promote successful digital upgrading. 展开更多

The results of regression analysis showed F〉F0.05, indicating that fertilizer quantity is of significant regression relationship with yield. It was analyzed that yield-increasing range of N fertilizer was directly proportional to fertilizer quanti- ty, and negative yield even occurs if excessive P fertilizer is applied. In general, fertilizer effects from high to low were N fertilizer〉K ferUlizer〉P fertilizer. Besides, on equation aralysls, it was proposed the optimal fertilizer quantities included N fertilizer (N) of 270 kg, P fertilizer (PUs) of 165 kg and K fertilizer (K20) of 225 kg for achieving ideal yield of 2 500 kg/hm2 of luffa in Foshan. [Objectives]The study aims to provide important reference for the breeding and research of new varieties of functional broad-shoulder bitter gourd.[Methods]8 pure varieties of local broad-shoulder bitter gourd landraces in Foshan were used as experimental materials,in which polysaccharide,cellulose and vitamin C content were measured.[Results]Among the 8 varieties of local self-selected broad-shoulder bitter gourd in Foshan,the polysaccharide content of Foxuan 6 was the highest,up to 113.78 mg/100 (g·FW),which was significantly higher than that of the other 7 varieties.The polysaccharide content of Foxuan 2 was the lowest.The cellulose content of Foxuan 8 was the highest,reaching 24.50 mg/100 (g·FW),which was significantly higher than that of the other 7 varieties.The cellulose content of Foxuan 4 was the lowest.The vitamin C content of Foxuan 5 was the highest,reaching 74.24 mg/100 (g·FW),which was significantly higher than that of the other 7 varieties.The vitamin C content of Foxuan 4 was the lowest,only 7.05 mg/100 (g·FW).In a word,there were big differences between the 8 varieties of broad-shoulder bitter gourd in terms of polysaccharide,cellulose and vitamin C content.[Conclusions]It is possible to make full use of their own quality differences and develop new varieties of functional broad-shoulder bitter gourd by means of cross combination. 展开更多

It is suggested that subjects of Foshan paper-cutting is strongly affected by the coast and regional culture as well as widely affected by the coastal culture especially foreign culture. Chikungunya fever(CF)is caused by chikungunya virus(CHIKV),which is transmitted to humans through the bites of infected female Aedes mosquitoes.CHIKV has been documented in over 110 countries across Asia,Africa,Europe,and the Americas(1).China reported its first imported case of CF in 2008.Between 2010 and 2019,local outbreaks resulting from imported cases were documented in Guangdong(2),Zhejiang(3),and Yunnan provinces(4).On July 9,2025,Foshan City,Guangdong Province reported a cluster of CF cases.As of July 26,a total of 4,824 confirmed cases had been reported(5)across 12 prefecture-level cities in Guangdong,with 4,754 cases(98.5%)occurring in Foshan and 70 cases(1.5%)distributed among the other 11 prefectures.The majority of cases were concentrated in Shunde District of Foshan,which accounted for 4,208 cases(87.2%of all provincial cases). 展开更多

Background Since July 2025,an outbreak of mosquito-borne chikungunya fever has occurred in Foshan City,Guangdong Province,China.This was the second large-scale local outbreak in China after the one that occurred in Dongguan City,Guangdong Province,in 2010.As of 23 August,more than 10,000 human cases had been reported.This study aims to investigate mosquito infection and viral genomic characteristics during the Foshan outbreak.Methods Adult Aedes albopictus were collected using BioGents Sentinel trap in three hotspot towns(Beijiao,Chencun and Lecong).Mosquitoes were morphologically identified and pooled by species,sex and environment type.Each pool was homogenized,and the homogenate was clarified by centrifugation;and the supernatant was used for viral RNA isolation.The isolated RNA was screened using CHIKV RT-qPCR.Positive pools underwent Sanger sequencing and whole-genome sequencing.The CHIKV lineage and mutational profiles were inferred using maximum likelihood phylogenetic analysis and comparison with human-and mosquito-derived genomes.Results Over 11 days of trapping,2803 mosquitoes were captured.1569(55.97%)female Ae.albopictus were divided into 77 pools and 9.09%(7/77)of these pools were CHIKV-positive.The minimum infection rate(MIR,per 1000 females)for local Ae.albopictus was 4.46,while the MIR for residences in Lecong Town was the highest at 9.17 per 1000 females.The MIR for parklands was slightly higher than for residences(4.60 vs.4.30 per 1000 females).Five complete Ae.albopictus-derived CHIKV genome clustered within the East/Central/South African-Indian Ocean lineage genotype,and harbored novel E1 and E2 mutations consistent with those detected in the 2025 Reunion Island human strain.Amino-acid mutations E1-A226V/E2-L210Q were detected,enhancing adaptability to Ae.albopictus and increasing the transmission capacity.Conclusions This study represents the first mosquito-derived CHIKV whole-genome sequence obtained from the 2025 Foshan outbreak.Ae.albopictus was confirmed as the primary vector,and the presence of adaptive mutations indicated an enhanced transmission potential.Despite the outbreak emerging earlier in the season and affecting a dense urban population,it was effectively controlled through timely and intensive vector interventions.These findings highlighted the critical role of mosquito surveillance in early outbreak preparedness and effective vector management. 展开更多

Introduction:Chikungunya virus(CHIKV),an arthropod-borne alphavirus transmitted by Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus,causes fever,severe joint pain,and rash.By 2025,it has triggered outbreaks in 119 countries,endangering 5.5 million people.Recent epidemics in Foshan,China,have strained healthcare systems,underscoring the need to characterize viral load dynamics across infection phases.Methods:We collected 1,156 clinical samples from four Foshan hospitals in July 2025,spanning 6 days before to 12 days after symptom onset.Specimens included serum(904 valid),saliva(22),urine(4),throat swabs(3),and stool(37).CHIKV RNA was quantified via qRT-PCR;timepoints and specimen types with insufficient samples were excluded.Results:Serum showed the highest positivity(90%),followed by saliva(68%),throat swabs(15%),and urine(11%);stool was negative(0%).Serum also had the highest viral loads,confirming its optimal utility.Viral RNA was detectable as early as 1 day presymptom onset(day-1).Days 0–7 post-onset marked explosive replication and elevated loads,representing the optimal sampling window.From Day 8 onward,loads declined,requiring IgG testing to avoid false negatives.Conclusions:Serum is the gold standard for acute CHIKV diagnosis,with superior positivity and viral loads.Pre-symptomatic viral shedding(day-1)supports enhanced port-of-entry screening to intercept imported cases.Days 0–7 post-onset is the optimal sampling window for acute infection.During clearance(day 8+),IgG testing complements molecular diagnostics to reduce gaps.These findings inform evidence-based diagnosis,outbreak control,and resource allocation. 展开更多

[背景]木质家具制造业作为传统劳动密集型产业,长期面临噪声等职业病危害因素的突出威胁。[目的]通过回顾性调查分析广东省佛山市2020—2024年木质家具制造行业的职业卫生管理现状与工作场所噪声监测情况,明确该行业职业噪声危害的暴露水平、防控措施落实情况及其动态变化趋势,为制定和优化针对性的职业卫生监管策略提供参考依据。[方法]采用判断抽样法,选取佛山市2020—2024年381家木质家具制造企业为研究对象。通过查阅资料、现场调查及现场检测等方式系统收集企业基本信息、职业卫生管理关键指标(包括职业病危害项目申报、职业卫生培训、职业病防护设施设置与运行效果、个人防护用品配备与使用、职业健康检查等情况)及工作场所噪声强度监测数据。采用描述性统计分析企业特征与各项指标,并运用趋势χ2检验对各年度间职业卫生管理指标与噪声强度监测结果的动态变化进行趋势性分析。[结果]381家企业中,小微企业占比94.0%(358/381),劳动者总体接害率为56.7%(15199/26798),噪声接害率为45.6%(12221/26798)。职业病危害项目申报率为100%,接害劳动者培训率为69.6%,防噪声设施设置率和有效率分别为24.9%和95.8%,防噪耳塞/耳罩发放率和有效佩戴率分别为77.6%和87.1%,接噪劳动者职业健康检查开展率和异常率分别为55.4%和2.5%。趋势分析结果显示,职业卫生培训率、防噪声设施设置率和有效率、防噪耳塞/耳罩发放率和有效佩戴率、接噪劳动者职业健康检查率和异常率均呈整体上升趋势(P值均<0.05)。工作场所噪声强度大于85 dB(A)占比、工作岗位噪声超标率均呈整体上升趋势(P值均<0.01)。[结论]2020—2024年佛山市木质家具制造行业的职业卫生管理,特别是在防护设施设置、个体防护用品使用、职业健康检查落实等方面取得了一定积极进展,但工作场所噪声危害并未得到有效控制。未来监管工作需在巩固现有管理成效的基础上,强化对高噪声工艺的工程技术改造与降噪设施普及的强制要求与扶持力度,以实现对职业噪声危害的根本性遏制。 展开更多

Background:Triatomines,also known as kissing bugs,which are found throughout the world and especially in Latin America,are well known natural vectors that transmit American trypanosomiasis,also called Chagas disease.In China,the presence of two species of Triatoma(Triatoma rubrofasciata and T.sinica)was recorded in the past.Due to the growing population and the increasing risk of the global spread of Chagas disease,triatomines became a potential public health nuisance,and in 2016,we started monitoring triatomine activities in southern China.Methods:Triatomine specimens were collected by the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases,Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention,and identified by their morphological characteristics under a dissecting microscope.In addition to morphological analysis,the genomic DNA of the specimens was extracted,and the mitochondrial 16S rRNA,the cytochrome b(CytB)gene and the nuclear ribosomal 28S rRNA gene were PCRamplified to analyze and confirm the species genetically.Results:One female adult insect and one male adult insect were collected in a dwelling in the rural area of Shunde County,Foshan City,Guangdong Province,China(22°42′44.63″N,113°08′45.34″E).The results from the morphological and genetic analyses indicated that these triatomines were T.rubrofasciata.Conclusions:This is the first time that the occurrence of T.rubrofasciata has been confirmed in Foshan City,Guangdong Province in southern China.Further studies are needed to reach a clearer understanding of the ecology of this species of triatomine,since it has been found to be naturally infected by Trypanosoma cruzi and T.conorhini and there is evidence of its domiciliation capabilities. 展开更多
