Advancements in Natural Language Processing and Deep Learning techniques have significantly pro-pelled the automation of Legal Judgment Prediction,achieving remarkable progress in legal research.Most of the existing research works on Legal Judgment Prediction(LJP)use traditional optimization algorithms in deep learning techniques falling into local optimization.This research article focuses on using the modified Pelican Optimization method which mimics the collective behavior of Pelicans in the exploration and exploitation phase during cooperative food searching.Typically,the selection of search agents within a boundary is done randomly,which increases the time required to achieve global optimization.To address this,the proposed Chaotic Opposition Learning-based Pelican Optimization(COLPO)method incorporates the concept of Opposition-Based Learning combined with a chaotic cubic function,enabling deterministic selection of random numbers and reducing the number of iterations needed to reach global optimization.Also,the LJP approach in this work uses improved semantic similarity and entropy features to train a hybrid classifier combining Bi-GRU and Deep Maxout.The output scores are fused using improved score level fusion to boost prediction accuracy.The proposed COLPO method experiments with real-time Madras High Court criminal cases(Dataset 1)and the Supreme Court of India database(Dataset 2),and its performance is compared with nature-inspired algorithms such as Sparrow Search Algorithm(SSA),COOT,Spider Monkey Optimization(SMO),Pelican Optimization Algorithm(POA),as well as baseline classifier models and transformer neural networks.The results show that the proposed hybrid classifier with COLPO outperforms other cutting-edge LJP algorithms achieving 93.4%and 94.24%accuracy,respectively. 展开更多

Developmental and reproductive toxicity(DART)endpoint entails a toxicological assessment of all developmental stages and reproductive cycles of an organism.In silico tools to predict DART will provide a method to assess this complex toxicity endpoint and will be valuable for screening emerging pollutants as well as for m anaging new chemicals in China.Currently,there are few published DART prediction models in China,but many related research and development projects are in progress.In 2013,WU et al.published an expert rule-based DART decision tree(DT).This DT relies on known chemical structures linked to DART to forecast DART potential of a given chemical.Within this procedure,an accurate DART data interpretation is the foundation of building and expanding the DT.This paper excerpted case studies demonstrating DART data curation and interpretation of four chemicals(including 8-hydroxyquinoline,3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridinol,thiacloprid,and imidacloprid)to expand the existing DART DT.Chemicals were first selected from the database of Solid Waste and Chemicals Management Center,Ministry of Ecology and Environment(MEESCC)in China.The structures of these 4 chemicals were analyzed and preliminarily grouped by chemists based on core structural features,functional groups,receptor binding property,metabolism,and possible mode of actions.Then,the DART conclusion was derived by collecting chemical information,searching,integrating,and interpreting DART data by the toxicologists.Finally,these chemicals were classified into either an existing category or a new category via integrating their chemical features,DART conclusions,and biological properties.The results showed that 8-hydroxyquinoline impacted estrous cyclicity,s exual organ weights,and embryonal development,and 3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridinol caused central nervous system(CNS)malformations,which were added to an existing subcategory 8e(aromatic compounds with multi-halogen and nitro groups)of the DT.Thiacloprid caused dystocia and fetal skeletal malformation,and imidacloprid disrupted the endocrine system and male fertility.They both contain 2-chloro-5-methylpyridine substituted imidazolidine c yclic ring,which were expected to create a new category of neonicotinoids.The current work delineates a t ransparent process of curating toxicological data for the purpose of DART data interpretation.In the presence of sufficient related structures and DART data,the DT can be expanded by iteratively adding chemicals within the a pplicable domain of each category or subcategory.This DT can potentially serve as a tool for screening emerging pollutants and assessing new chemicals in China. 展开更多

The Ms ≥ 8.0 strong earthquakes occurring in Chile since 1800 were analyzed using the ternary, quaternary, and quinary commensurability methods and the butterfly structure diagram, and it was believed that the earthquake signal in Chile in 2014 is relatively strong, a large earthquake is likely to occur in Chile in 2014. An analysis of spatial epicenter migrations showed that the longitudinal and latitudinal epicenter migra- tions have symmetry and synchronism, and there were five obvious northward migrations and four southward migrations. The symmetry axis of the longitudinal migrations is at about 71.7°W and that of the latitudinal mi- grations is at about 30°S; these spatial symmetry axes are located at the subduction zone on the western margin of South America, where two major plates (the Nazca Plate and the South American Plate) converge. 展开更多

A method for ranking complementary judgment matrixes with traspezoidal fuzzy numbers based on Hausdorff metric distance and fuzzy compromise decision approach is proposed. With regard to fuzzy number complementary judgment matrixes given by a decider group whose members have various weights, the expert's information was aggregated first by means of simple weight average(SWA) method and Bonissone calculational method. Hence a matrix including all the experts' preference information was got. Then the matrix' column members were added up and the fuzzy evaluation values of the alternatives were got. Lastly, the Hausdorff metric distance and fuzzy compromise decision approach were used to rank the fuzzy evaluation values and then the ranking values of all the alternatives were got. Because exact numbers and triangular fuzzy numbers could all be transformed into trapezoidal fuzzy numbers, the method developed can rank complementary judgment matrixes with trapezoidal fuzzy numbers, triangular fuzzy numbers and exact numbers as well. An illustrative example is also given to verify the developed method and to demonstrate its feasibility and practicality. 展开更多

One of the most prominent issues in criminal judgment documents is the insufficient evidence. In order to raise the level of judgment documents reasoning, we need to evaluate the quality of evidence in judgment documents. In the recent informatization of Chinese courts, the huge amount of law cases made it necessary to automate the evaluation of evidence. Constructing the model of evidence chain is the basis for assessing the quality of the judgment documents as evidence chain model can describe the relationship between evidence and fact as well as the relationship between evidence more intuitively. In trying to achieve all above mentioned, we propose a model of evidence chain based on Chinese criminal judgment documents. Automated text preprocessing of Chinese criminal documents creates semi-structured XML documents and in XML file, we can get evidence set and fact set. Key element extraction based on syntactic parsing is used to get keywords of each evidence and fact. Text similarity measure based on Word2vec and keyword overlap ratio calculation is used to get the connection point of evidence chain. Predefined weight of dif- ferent kinds of evidence can be used to measure the importance of each evidence chain. We presented a quantity judgment task that involved comparing two sequentially presented sets of items to preschoolers and chimpanzees using nearly identical procedures that excluded verbal instructions to children. Trial difficulty in this task reflected the ratio difference between sets of discrete items where larger ratios (e.g., 0.80 as from comparing 4 to 5) were more difficult than smaller ones (e.g., 0.50 as from comparing 4 to 8). Children also completed verbal-based tasks probing the relationskip between counting proficiency and performance on the quantity judgment task of sequentially presented identical sized items. Both species' performance was best when ratios between comparison sets were small regardless of set size in all types of tasks. Generally, chimpanzees and older children performed better than younger children except at larger ratios. Children's counting proficiency was not related to success in choosing the larger of two quantities of identical-sized items. These results indicate that chimpanzees and children share an approximate number sense that is reflected through analog magnitude estimation when comparing quantities [Current Zoology 57 (4): 419-428, 2011]. 展开更多

Transition prediction has always been a frontier issue in the field of aerodynamics.A supervised learning model with probability interpretation for transition judgment based on experimental data was developed in this paper.It solved the shortcomings of the point detection method in the experiment,that which was often only one transition point could be obtained,and comparison of multi-point data was necessary.First,the Variable-Interval Time Average(VITA)method was used to transform the fluctuating pressure signal measured on the airfoil surface into a sequence of states which was described by Markov chain model.Second,a feature vector consisting of one-step transition matrix and its stationary distribution was extracted.Then,the Hidden Markov Model(HMM)was used to pre-classify the feature vectors marked using the traditional Root Mean Square(RMS)criteria.Finally,a classification model with probability interpretation was established,and the cross-validation method was used for model validation.The research results show that the developed model is effective and reliable,and it has strong Reynolds number generalization ability.The developed model was theoretically analyzed in depth,and the effect of parameters on the model was studied in detail.Compared with the traditional RMS criterion,a reasonable transition zone can be obtained using the developed classification model.In addition,the developed model does not require comparison of multi-point data.The developed supervised learning model provides new ideas for the transition detection in flight experiments and other experiments. 展开更多

The incomplete linguistic judgment matrix is transformed into incomplete fuzzy judgment matrix and an optimization model is developed on the basis of incomplete fuzzy judgment matrix provided by the decision maker and the decision matrix to determine attribute weights by Lagrange multiplier method. In order to promote the reform of judgment documents reasoning and improve the level of it, the technology of automated judgment documents reasoning evaluation has to be studied on. How to build evidence chain relational model is the basis and key to this technology.An approach is proposed to build evidence chain relational model based on Chinese judgment documents. Using automated text preprocessing for Chinese judgment documents creates semi-structured XML documents and extracts evidence set and fact set. The method of key elements extraction is used to obtain the keywords of evidence and facts. Calculating the degree of association can work out the connection points of evidence chain relational model. In order to improve the quality of the judgment documents, the state and government have introduced laws and regulations. However, the current status of trials in our country is that the number of cases is very large. Using system to verify the documents can reduce the burden on the judges and ensure the accuracy of the judgment. This paper describes an evaluation system for reasoning description of judgment documents. The main evaluation steps include: segmenting the front and back of the law;extracting the key information in the document by using XML parsing technology;constructing the legal exclusive stop word library and preprocessing inputting text;entering the text input into the model to get the text matching result;using the “match keyword, compare sentencing degree” idea to judge whether the logic is consistent if it is the evaluation of “law and conclusion”;integrating the calculation results of each evaluation subject and feeding clear and concise results back to the system user. Simulation of real application scenarios was conducted to test whether the reasoning lacks key links or is insufficient or the judgment result is unreasonable. The result show that evaluation speed of each document is relatively fast and the accuracy of the evaluation of the common nine criminal cases is high. 展开更多

This paper proposes anoptimal fuzzy-based model for obtaining crisp priorities for Fuzzy-AHP comparison matrices.Crisp judgments cannot be given for real-life situations,as most of these include some level of fuzziness and com-plexity.In these situations,judgments are represented by the set of fuzzy numbers.Most of the fuzzy optimization models derive crisp priorities for judgments repre-sented with Triangular Fuzzy Numbers(TFNs)only.They do not work for other types of Triangular Shaped Fuzzy Numbers(TSFNs)and Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers(TrFNs).To overcome this problem,a sum of squared error(SSE)based optimization model is proposed.Unlike some other methods,the proposed model derives crisp weights from all of the above-mentioned fuzzy judgments.A fuzzy number is simulated using the Monte Carlo method.A threshold-based constraint is also applied to minimize the deviation from the initial judgments.Genetic Algorithm(GA)is used to solve the optimization model.We have also conducted casestudiesto show the proposed approach’s advantages over the existingmethods.Results show that the proposed model outperforms other models to minimize SSE and deviation from initial judgments.Thus,the proposed model can be applied in various real time scenarios as it can reduce the SSE value upto 29%compared to the existing studies. 展开更多

In the recent informatization of Chinese courts, the huge amount of law cases and judgment documents, which were digital stored,has provided a good foundation for the research of judicial big data and machine learning. In this situation, some ideas about Chinese courts can reach automation or get better result through the research of machine learning, such as similar documents recommendation, workload evaluation based on similarity of judgement documents and prediction of possible relevant statutes. In trying to achieve all above mentioned, and also in face of the characteristics of Chinese judgement document, we propose a topic model based approach to measure the text similarity of Chinese judgement document, which is based on TF-IDF, Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), Labeled Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LLDA) and other treatments. Combining with the characteristics of Chinese judgment document,we focus on the specific steps of approach, the preprocessing of corpus, the parameters choices of training and the evaluation of similarity measure result. Besides, implementing the approach for prediction of possible statutes and regarding the prediction accuracy as the evaluation metric, we designed experiments to demonstrate the reasonability of decisions in the process of design and the high performance of our approach on text similarity measure. Objective:To study the influence of cognition and emotion on moral judgment of college students under the circumstance of whether the cognitive resources are occupied and whether the emotion is induced.Methods:This experiment uses a multi-factor mixed experiment method to divide experiments and groups.Experiment 1 uses a two-factor mixed experimental design of 2(cognitive resource occupancy group,cognitive resource non-occupied group)×3(difficult situation type).Experiment 2 uses a two-factor mixed experimental design of 2(emotion induction group,emotion induction and cognitive resource occupation group)×3(three types of dilemma situation types)is adopted.The dependent variable of this experiment(including Experiment 1 and Experiment 2)is the judgment response time and the judgment result is“Yes”(F)or“No”(J).Results:(1)The reaction time of the cognitive resource occupancy group was significantly higher than that of the cognitive resource non-occupied group,and the cognitive resource occupancy group in the three types of dilemma situations of high personal involvement,low personal involvement,and non-personal participation.There is no significant difference between the results of moral judgments and the cognitive resource non-occupied group.(2)In the three dilemmas of high personal involvement,low personal involvement,and non-personal participation,the emotion-induced group and the emotion-induced and cognitive resource occupation group have no significant differences in reaction time and moral judgment results.(3)In the three dilemmas of high personal involvement,low personal involvement,and non-personal participation,the reaction time difference between the cognitive resource occupation group and the emotionally induced and cognitive resource occupation is not significant,while in the dilemma of low personal involvement,the number of people in the cognitive resource occupation group whose moral judgment is“Yes”was significantly higher than that in the emotionally induced and cognitive resource occupation group.(4)In the three dilemmas of high personal involvement,low personal involvement,and non-personal participation,the reaction time of the emotionally induced group was significantly higher than that of the cognitive resource non-occupied group,and the moral judgment results of the two groups were both found no significant difference.Conclusion:When the occupation of cognitive resources and the induction of emotions will significantly affect the response of individual moral judgments,different types of dilemmas will significantly affect the results of individual moral judgments. 展开更多

Political skill is a critical interpersonal competency.However,the self-reported political skill scale is unsuitable for personnel selection beacuse it may lead to socially desirable responses,thereby compromising the authenticity of the test scores.Consequently,the absence of a valid assessment method limits the application of political skill in selection con-texts.In this study,we applied the situational judgment test(SJT)method to measure political skill and conducted two sub-studies to evaluate the reliability and validity of the situational judgment test of political skill(SJT-PS).Study 1 focused on the development and initial testing of the SJT-PS.The results demonstrated that the SJT-PS possessed strong structural validity and reliability.Study 2 aimed to assess the criterion-related and incremental validity of the SJT-PS.To evaluate the predictive validity of the SJT-PS in selection contexts,we first compared the correlations between the SJT-PS and self-reported political skill with social desirability.Subsequently,we selected team-member exchange(TMX)and workplace popularity as criteria.The results indicated that the SJT-PS was less affected by social desirability,while self-reported political skill exhibited a significant positive correlation with social desirability.Additionally,the SJT-PS positively pre-dicted TMX and workplace popularity and demonstrated incremental validity over the self-reported political skill scale. 展开更多
