The wide availability of powerful computers, user friendly modeling systems and GIS stimulates an exponential growth of regional groundwater modeling. Large scale transient groundwater models have been built to analyze regional flow systems, to simulate water budget components changes, and to optimize groundwater develop- ment scenarios. This paper reviews the historical development of regional groundwater modeling. Examples of Death Valley and Great Artesian Basin transient groundwater models are introduced to show the application of large scale regional groundwater flow models. Specific methodologies for regional groundwater flow modeling are descried and special issues in regional groundwater flow modeling are discussed.展开更多

The 5G system is facing grand challenges such as the ever-increasing traffic volumes and remarkably diver- sified services connecting humans and machines alike. As a result, the future network has to deliver massively increased capacity, greater flexibility, incorporated computing capabili- ty, support of significantly extended battery lifetime, and ac- commodation of varying payloads with fast setup and low latency, etc. In particular, as 5G requires more spectrum resource, higher frequency bands are desirable. Nowadays, millimeter wave has been widely accepted as one of the main communication bands for 5G.展开更多

Over the past few years, ZR has released a series of special issuesopics addressing various aspects of these areas, e.g., ge- netics, immunology, and physiology neuroscience. A special issue for 2017 focusing on "Animal Models of Infectious Diseases" is under preparation and, so far, includes original research articles and reviews on filo- viruses and coxsackievirus involving guinea pigs, mice, and other species. Further to this, ZR would like to extend a very warm invitation to all peer researchers in the field to submit outstanding work to the journal on this special issue.展开更多

Methods: 212 medical devices which were implemented the conventional management method in our hospital from January 2020 to December 2020 were taken as the control group and 212 medical devices which were implemented the FOCUS-PDCA management mode from January 2021 to December 2021 were taken as the observation group. The failure rates, average inspection time and satisfaction of medical device users in the two groups were recorded. Results: the incidence and frequency of medical equipment failures in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (3.33% < 8.89%), the average inspection time was significantly shorter than that in the control group, and the satisfaction of medical equipment users was significantly higher than that in the control group (96.00% > 78.00%). the above data differences were statistically significant (p < 0.05). Conclusion: the application of FOCUS-PDCA management model in medical equipment management can reduce the occurrence of failures and promote the common improvement of medical equipment maintenance level and users' satisfaction.展开更多
