To overcome this dilemma, this paper proposed a spatial forest information system based on Web service using an open source software approach. With Web service based architecture, the system can enable interoperability, integrate Web services from other application servers, reuse codes, and shorten the development time and cost. At the same time, it is possible to extend the local system to a regional or national spatial forest information system. The growth of Open Source Software (OSS) provides an alternative choice to proprietary software for operating systems, web servers, Web-based GIS applications and database management systems. Using open source software to develop spatial forest information systems can greatly reduce the cost while providing high performance and sharing spatial forest information. We chose open source software to build a prototype system for Xixia County, Henan Province, China. By integrating OSS packages Deegree and UMN MapServer which are compliant to the OGC open specifications, the prototype system enables users to access spatial forest information and travelling information of Xixia County which come from two different data servers via a standard Web browser and promotes spatial forest information sharing.展开更多

The verification of the existence or lack of accessibility equipment at bus stops and parking areas close to tourist attractions relies on current legislation (NBR 9050/1994) that establishes the right to accessibility for disabled people to transportation, local culture and leisure. An application that facilitates this recognition with low operating costs and high performance was developed using the OS software Quantum GIS 1.0.2, Apache 2.2.4, Mapserver 5.0.2, I3GEO 4.0, PostgreSQL 8.3 and PostGIS 1.3.5. An open source software (OSS) ecosystem refers to an OSS development community composed of many software projects and developers contributing to these projects. The projects and developers co-evolve in an ecosystem....An open source software (OSS) ecosystem refers to an OSS development community composed of many software projects and developers contributing to these projects. The projects and developers co-evolve in an ecosystem. To keep healthy evolution of such OSS ecosystems, there is a need of attracting and retaining developers, particularly project leaders and core developers who have major impact on the project and the whole team. Therefore, it is important to figure out the factors that influence developers' chance to evolve into project leaders and core developers. To identify such factors, we conducted a case study on the GNOME ecosystem. First, we collected indicators reflecting developers' subjective willingness to contribute to the project and the project environment that they stay in. Second, we calculated such indicators based on the GNOME dataset. Then, we fitted logistic regression models by taking as independent variables the resulting indicators after eliminating the most collinear ones, and taking as a dependent variable the future developer role (the core developer or project leader). The results showed that part of such indicators (e.g., the total number of projects that a developer joined) of subjective willingness and project environment significantly influenced the developers' chance to evolve into core developers and project leaders. With different validation methods, our obtained model performs well on predicting developmental core developers, resulting in stable prediction performance (0.770, F-value).展开更多

Industrial protocolstandardization organizations are confronted with fragmented and numerous code PR (Pull Request) and informalproposals, and differentworkflowswill lead to increased operating costs. The open-source community maintenanceteam needs software that is more intelligent to guide the identification and classification of these issues. To solvethe above problems, this paper proposes a PR review prediction model based on multi-dimensional features. Weextract 43 features of PR and divide them into five dimensions: contributor, reviewer, software project, PR, andsocial network of developers. The model integrates the above five-dimensional features, and a prediction model isbuilt based on a Random Forest Classifier to predict the review results of PR. On the other hand, to improve thequality of rejected PRs, we focus on problems raised in the review process and review comments of similar PRs.Wepropose a PR revision recommendation model based on the PR review knowledge graph. Entity information andrelationships between entities are extracted from text and code information of PRs, historical review comments,and related issues. PR revisions will be recommended to code contributors by graph-based similarity calculation.The experimental results illustrate that the above twomodels are effective and robust in PR review result predictionand PR revision recommendation.展开更多
Software Defined Networking(SDN)is programmable by separation of forwarding control through the centralization of the controller.The controller plays the role of the‘brain’that dictates the intelligent part of SDN t...Software Defined Networking(SDN)is programmable by separation of forwarding control through the centralization of the controller.The controller plays the role of the‘brain’that dictates the intelligent part of SDN technology.Various versions of SDN controllers exist as a response to the diverse demands and functions expected of them.There are several SDN controllers available in the open market besides a large number of commercial controllers;some are developed tomeet carrier-grade service levels and one of the recent trends in open-source SDN controllers is the Open Network Operating System(ONOS).This paper presents a comparative study between open source SDN controllers,which are known as Network Controller Platform(NOX),Python-based Network Controller(POX),component-based SDN framework(Ryu),Java-based OpenFlow controller(Floodlight),OpenDayLight(ODL)and ONOS.The discussion is further extended into ONOS architecture,as well as,the evolution of ONOS controllers.This article will review use cases based on ONOS controllers in several application deployments.Moreover,the opportunities and challenges of open source SDN controllers will be discussed,exploring carriergrade ONOS for future real-world deployments,ONOS unique features and identifying the suitable choice of SDN controller for service providers.In addition,we attempt to provide answers to several critical questions relating to the implications of the open-source nature of SDN controllers regarding vendor lock-in,interoperability,and standards compliance,Similarly,real-world use cases of organizations using open-source SDN are highlighted and how the open-source community contributes to the development of SDN controllers.Furthermore,challenges faced by open-source projects,and considerations when choosing an open-source SDN controller are underscored.Then the role of Artificial Intelligence(AI)and Machine Learning(ML)in the evolution of open-source SDN controllers in light of recent research is indicated.In addition,the challenges and limitations associated with deploying open-source SDN controllers in production networks,how can they be mitigated,and finally how opensource SDN controllers handle network security and ensure that network configurations and policies are robust and resilient are presented.Potential opportunities and challenges for future Open SDN deployment are outlined to conclude the article.展开更多

Open source software has become a fundamental component of modern software ecosystems,supporting a wide range of critical applications in operating systems,cloud services,embedded systems,and security-sensitive infras...Open source software has become a fundamental component of modern software ecosystems,supporting a wide range of critical applications in operating systems,cloud services,embedded systems,and security-sensitive infrastructures.However,the rapid growth of open source projects also brings increasingly serious security challenges.Many widely used C/C++components still contain hidden vulnerabilities,and attackers are no longer limited to exploiting traditional memory-related bugs such as buffer overflows or use-after-free errors.In recent years,non-memory logic flaws,including improper authentication,incorrect state transitions,flawed boundary checks,and insecure API usage,have become more prevalent and more difficult to detect using conventional static analysis or pattern-matching methods.To address these limitations,this study proposes a novel vulnerability detection framework that combines the semantic understanding capability of large language models(LLMs)with the structural representation ability of heterogeneous graph learning.Specifically,we construct a Heterogeneous Vulnerability Graph(HeVG)to explicitly model multiple types of code structures in C/C++programs,including syntax,control flow,data dependency,and function-call relationships.By representing source code as a heterogeneous graph,the proposed framework can capture both local code patterns and long-range dependencies that are essential for identifying complex vulnerabilities.In addition,a cross-modal alignment mechanism is introduced to effectively fuse code-text semantic features extracted by LLMs with graph-based structural representations.This enables the model to jointly understand what the code means and how different program elements interact.Experimental results show that the proposed approach achieves state-of-the-art performance,reaching 80.24%accuracy in single-file vulnerability detection and 71.78%accuracy in cross-file vulnerability detection.Further analysis demonstrates that the framework is particularly effective in detecting complex logic vulnerabilities and maintains strong generalization ability across different projects.These results indicate that integrating LLMs with heterogeneous graph learning provides a promising direction for more accurate and robust open source software vulnerability detection.Open source software faces growing security challenges,with widespread vulnerabilities in critical components and an increasing prevalence of non-memory logic flaws.To address these issues,this study proposes a novel vulnerability detection framework that integrates large language models(LLMs)with heterogeneous graph learning.We introduce a Heterogeneous Vulnerability Graph(HeVG)to explicitly model diverse code structures in C/C++programs,and employ a cross-modal alignment mechanism to fuse semantic information from code text with graph representations.Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach,achieving state-of-the-art performance in both single-file(80.24%accuracy)and cross-file(71.78%accuracy)vulnerability detection.The framework shows particular strength in identifying complex logic vulnerabilities while maintaining high generalization capability across projects.展开更多
Vulnerabilities are a known problem in modern Open Source Software(OSS).Most developers often rely on third-party libraries to accelerate feature implementation.However,these libraries may contain vulnerabilities that...Vulnerabilities are a known problem in modern Open Source Software(OSS).Most developers often rely on third-party libraries to accelerate feature implementation.However,these libraries may contain vulnerabilities that attackers can exploit to propagate malicious code,posing security risks to dependent projects.Existing research addresses these challenges through Software Composition Analysis(SCA)for vulnerability detection and remediation.Nevertheless,current solutions may introduce additional issues,such as incompatibilities,dependency conflicts,and additional vulnerabilities.To address this,we propose Vulnerability Scan and Protection(VulnScanPro),a robust solution for detection and remediation vulnerabilities in Java projects.Specifically,VulnScanPro builds a finegrained method graph to identify unreachable methods.The method graph is mapped to the project’s dependency tree,constructing a comprehensive vulnerability propagation graph that identifies unreachable vulnerable APIs and dependencies.Based on this analysis,we propose three solutions for vulnerability remediation:(1)Removing unreachable vulnerable dependencies,thereby resolving security risks and reducing maintenance overhead.(2)Upgrading vulnerable dependencies to the closest non-vulnerable versions,while pinning the versions of transitive dependencies introduced by the vulnerable dependency,in order to mitigate compatibility issues and prevent the introduction of new vulnerabilities.(3)Eliminating unreachable vulnerable APIs,particularly when security patches are either incompatible or absent.Experimental results show that these solutions effectively mitigate vulnerabilities and enhance the overall security of the project.展开更多

An open-source software for field-based plant phenotyping,Precision Plots Analyzer(PREPs),was developed using Window.NET.The software runs on 64-bit Windows computers.This software allows the extraction of phenotypic ...An open-source software for field-based plant phenotyping,Precision Plots Analyzer(PREPs),was developed using Window.NET.The software runs on 64-bit Windows computers.This software allows the extraction of phenotypic traits on a per-microplot basis from orthomosaic and digital surface model(DSM)images generated by Structure-from-Motion/Multi-View-Stereo(SfM-MVS)tools.Moreover,there is no need to acquire skills in geographical information system(GIS)or programming languages for image analysis.Three use cases illustrated the software's functionality.The first involved monitoring the growth of sugar beet varieties in an experimental field using an unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV),where differences among varieties were detected through estimates of crop height,coverage,and volume index.Second,mixed varieties of potato crops were estimated using a UAV and varietal differences were observed from the estimated phenotypic traits.A strong correlation was observed between the manually measured crop height and UAV-estimated crop height.Finally,using a multicamera array attached to a tractor,the height,coverage,and volume index of the 3 potato varieties were precisely estimated.PREPs software is poised to be a useful tool that allows anyone without prior knowledge of programming to extract crop traits for phenotyping.展开更多
Objectives A nurse duty roster is usually prepared monthly in a hospital ward.It is common for nurses to make duty shift requests prior to scheduling.A ward manager normally spends more than a working day to manually ...Objectives A nurse duty roster is usually prepared monthly in a hospital ward.It is common for nurses to make duty shift requests prior to scheduling.A ward manager normally spends more than a working day to manually prepare and subsequently to optimally adjust the schedule upon staff requests and hospital policies.This study aimed to develop an automatic nurse roster scheduling system with the use of open-source operational research tools by taking into account the hospital standards and the constraints from nurses.Methods Artificial intelligence and end user tools operational research tools were used to develop the code for the nurse duty roster scheduling system.To compare with previous research on various heuristics in employee scheduling,the current system was developed on open architecture and adopted with real shift duty requirements in a hospital ward.Results The schedule can be generated within 1 min under both hard and soft constraint optimization.All hard constraints are fulfilled and most nurse soft constraints could be met.Compared with those schedules prepared manually,the computer-generated schedules were more optimally adjusted as real time interaction among nurses and management personnel.The generated schedules were flexible to cope with daily and hourly duty changes by redeploying ward staff in order to maintain safe staffing levels.Conclusions An economical but yet highly efficient and user friendly solution to nurse roster scheduling system has been developed and adopted using open-source operational research methodology.The open-source platform is found to perform satisfactorily in scheduling application.The system can be implemented to different wards in hospitals and be regularly updated with new hospital polices and nurse manpower by hospital information personnel with training in artificial intelligence.展开更多

We have analyzed the trend of fault severity level by using fault data in Bug Tracking System (BTS) and proposed our model based on the result of analysis. Also, we have shown the numerical example for evaluating the performance of our proposed model. Furthermore, we have extended our proposed model to the hazard-rate considering the imperfect debugging environment and showed numerical example for evaluating the possibility of application. As the result, we found out that performance of our proposed model is better than typical hazard-rate models. Also, we verified the possibility of application of proposed model to hazard-rate model considering imperfect debugging.展开更多

Subsequently, it was realized that the methods could be implemented more efficiently in a local manner and that the local approaches could match or even surpass the accuracy of the global implementations. In this work, three localization approaches are compared: a local RBF method, a partition of unity method, and a recently introduced modified partition of unity method. A simple shape parameter selection method is introduced and the application of artificial viscosity to stabilize each of the local methods when approximating time-dependent PDEs is reviewed. Additionally, a new type of quasi-random center is introduced which may be better choices than other quasi-random points that are commonly used with RBF methods. All the results within the manuscript are reproducible as they are included as examples in the freely available Python Radial Basis Function Toolbox.展开更多

By integrating OSS packages Deegree and UMN MapServer which are compliant to the OGC open specifications, the prototype system enables users to access spatial forest information and travelling information of Xixia County which come from two different data servers via a standard Web browser and promotes spatial forest information sharing.
摘要Based on the concepts of social inclusion, universal design and accessibility, this paper aims to describe the stages of the development and implementation of a Web GIS (geographic information system for the internet) based on OS (open source) software The Web GIS developed is called "accessibility to Campinas tourist attractions", which provides information about cultural and natural attractions in Campinas/SP-Brazil, especially for people with disabilities or reduced mobility that prevents access these sites via public and private transportation. The verification of the existence or lack of accessibility equipment at bus stops and parking areas close to tourist attractions relies on current legislation (NBR 9050/1994) that establishes the right to accessibility for disabled people to transportation, local culture and leisure. An application that facilitates this recognition with low operating costs and high performance was developed using the OS software Quantum GIS 1.0.2, Apache 2.2.4, Mapserver 5.0.2, I3GEO 4.0, PostgreSQL 8.3 and PostGIS 1.3.5. This software is able to integrate the management of tourist areas and the advertisement of tourist information regarding accessibility devices at sights recognized as tourist attractions by Campinas city hall.

摘要In the context of large language model(LLM)reshaping software engineering education,this paper presents OSSerCopilot,a LLM-based tutoring system designed to address the critical challenge faced by newcomers(especially student contributors)in open source software(OSS)communities.Leveraging natural language processing,code semantic understanding,and learner profiling,the system functions as an intelligent tutor to scaffold three core competency domains:contribution guideline interpretation,project architecture comprehension,and personalized task matching.By transforming traditional onboarding barriers-such as complex contribution documentation and opaque project structures-into interactive learning journeys,OSSerCopilot enables newcomers to complete their first OSS contribution more easily and confidently.This paper highlights how LLM technologies can redefine software engineering education by bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical OSS participation,offering implications for curriculum design,competency assessment,and sustainable OSS ecosystem cultivation.A demonstration video of the system is available at http://gffzz6169854dd1504498sxuwucpu000pf6xnp.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/articles/media/OSSerCopilot_Introduction_mp4/29510276.
摘要Ensuring software quality in open⁃source environments requires adaptive mechanisms to enhance scalability,optimize service provisioning,and improve reliability.This study presents the dynamic correlation analysis technique to enhance software quality management in open⁃source environments by addressing dynamic scalability,adaptive service provisioning,and software reliability.The proposed methodology integrates a scalability metric,an optimized service provisioning model,and a weighted entropy⁃based reliability assessment to systematically improve key performance parameters.Experimental evaluation conducted on multiple open⁃source software(OSS)versions demonstrates significant improvements:scalability increased by 27.5%,service provisioning time reduced by 18.3%,and software reliability improved by 22.1%compared to baseline methods.A comparative analysis with prior works further highlights the effectiveness of this approach in ensuring adaptability,efficiency,and resilience in dynamic software ecosystems.Future work will focus on real⁃time monitoring and AI⁃driven adaptive provisioning to further enhance software quality management.
摘要Nowadays open source software becomes highly popular and is of great importance for most software engi- neering activities. To facilitate software organization and re- trieval, tagging is extensively used in open source communi- ties. However, finding the desired software through tags in these communities such as Freecode and ohloh is still chal- lenging because of tag insufficiency. In this paper, we propose TRG (tag recommendation based on semantic graph), a novel approach to discovering and enriching tags of open source software. Firstly, we propose a semantic graph to model the semantic correlations between tags and the words in software descriptions. Then based on the graph, we design an effec- tive algorithm to recommend tags for software. With com- prehensive experiments on large-scale open source software datasets by comparing with several typical related works, we demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of our method in recommending proper tags.

摘要An open source software (OSS) ecosystem refers to an OSS development community composed of many software projects and developers contributing to these projects. The projects and developers co-evolve in an ecosystem. To keep healthy evolution of such OSS ecosystems, there is a need of attracting and retaining developers, particularly project leaders and core developers who have major impact on the project and the whole team. Therefore, it is important to figure out the factors that influence developers' chance to evolve into project leaders and core developers. To identify such factors, we conducted a case study on the GNOME ecosystem. First, we collected indicators reflecting developers' subjective willingness to contribute to the project and the project environment that they stay in. Second, we calculated such indicators based on the GNOME dataset. Then, we fitted logistic regression models by taking as independent variables the resulting indicators after eliminating the most collinear ones, and taking as a dependent variable the future developer role (the core developer or project leader). The results showed that part of such indicators (e.g., the total number of projects that a developer joined) of subjective willingness and project environment significantly influenced the developers' chance to evolve into core developers and project leaders. With different validation methods, our obtained model performs well on predicting developmental core developers, resulting in stable prediction performance (0.770, F-value).
摘要The development,integration,and distribution of the information and spatial data infrastructure(i.e.Digital Earth;DE)necessary to support the vision and goals of Future Earth(FE)will occur in a distributed fashion,in very diverse technological,institutional,socio-cultural,and economic contexts around the world.This complex context and ambitious goals require bringing to bear not only the best minds,but also the best science and technologies available.Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial Applications(FOSS4G)offers mature,capable and reliable software to contribute to the creation of this infrastructure.In this paper we point to a selected set of some of the most mature and reliable FOSS4G solutions that can be used to develop the functionality required as part of DE and FE.We provide examples of large-scale,sophisticated,mission-critical applications of each software to illustrate their power and capabilities in systems where they perform roles or functionality similar to the ones they could perform as part of DE and FE.We provide information and resources to assist the readers in carrying out their own assessments to select the best FOSS4G solutions for their particular contexts and system development needs.

摘要Currently, open-source software is gradually being integrated into industrial software, while industry protocolsin industrial software are also gradually transferred to open-source community development. Industrial protocolstandardization organizations are confronted with fragmented and numerous code PR (Pull Request) and informalproposals, and differentworkflowswill lead to increased operating costs. The open-source community maintenanceteam needs software that is more intelligent to guide the identification and classification of these issues. To solvethe above problems, this paper proposes a PR review prediction model based on multi-dimensional features. Weextract 43 features of PR and divide them into five dimensions: contributor, reviewer, software project, PR, andsocial network of developers. The model integrates the above five-dimensional features, and a prediction model isbuilt based on a Random Forest Classifier to predict the review results of PR. On the other hand, to improve thequality of rejected PRs, we focus on problems raised in the review process and review comments of similar PRs.Wepropose a PR revision recommendation model based on the PR review knowledge graph. Entity information andrelationships between entities are extracted from text and code information of PRs, historical review comments,and related issues. PR revisions will be recommended to code contributors by graph-based similarity calculation.The experimental results illustrate that the above twomodels are effective and robust in PR review result predictionand PR revision recommendation.

摘要Software Defined Networking(SDN)is programmable by separation of forwarding control through the centralization of the controller.The controller plays the role of the‘brain’that dictates the intelligent part of SDN technology.Various versions of SDN controllers exist as a response to the diverse demands and functions expected of them.There are several SDN controllers available in the open market besides a large number of commercial controllers;some are developed tomeet carrier-grade service levels and one of the recent trends in open-source SDN controllers is the Open Network Operating System(ONOS).This paper presents a comparative study between open source SDN controllers,which are known as Network Controller Platform(NOX),Python-based Network Controller(POX),component-based SDN framework(Ryu),Java-based OpenFlow controller(Floodlight),OpenDayLight(ODL)and ONOS.The discussion is further extended into ONOS architecture,as well as,the evolution of ONOS controllers.This article will review use cases based on ONOS controllers in several application deployments.Moreover,the opportunities and challenges of open source SDN controllers will be discussed,exploring carriergrade ONOS for future real-world deployments,ONOS unique features and identifying the suitable choice of SDN controller for service providers.In addition,we attempt to provide answers to several critical questions relating to the implications of the open-source nature of SDN controllers regarding vendor lock-in,interoperability,and standards compliance,Similarly,real-world use cases of organizations using open-source SDN are highlighted and how the open-source community contributes to the development of SDN controllers.Furthermore,challenges faced by open-source projects,and considerations when choosing an open-source SDN controller are underscored.Then the role of Artificial Intelligence(AI)and Machine Learning(ML)in the evolution of open-source SDN controllers in light of recent research is indicated.In addition,the challenges and limitations associated with deploying open-source SDN controllers in production networks,how can they be mitigated,and finally how opensource SDN controllers handle network security and ensure that network configurations and policies are robust and resilient are presented.Potential opportunities and challenges for future Open SDN deployment are outlined to conclude the article.
摘要Decentralized autonomous organizations(DAOs)have found use in the governance of open source software(OSS)projects.However,the governance of an OSS producing DAO should match the particularities of OSS production while also overcoming the existing challenges of decentralized governance.The existing decentralized governance frameworks do not include all the governance activities of OSS projects.Therefore,this study presents a governance framework for DAOs that produce OSS.The framework is built upon a total of 34 articles on DAO and OSS governance.The framework was evaluated in three leading DAOs that produce OSS.The evaluation underscores the significance of the framework and proves the potential of the systematic categorization of governance mechanisms.Finally,we list emerging governance practices in various governance domains in this developing field.
摘要Open source software (OSS) has become an indispensable part of society, not only for personal use but also for corporate use. Projects developed and operated by OSS are called open source projects, and the number of such projects is increasing. On the other hand, because anyone can participate in an open source project, the progress of the project is uncertain due to differences in project members’ skills, development environments, and time zones of activity. Therefore, many users and companies need to understand the development and operation status of open source project. Then, the developers carefully make decisions on upgrading or installing new OSS. In this paper, we focus on the maintenance effort estimation for open source projects considering uncertainty. Also, we evaluate the project quantitatively using Earned Value Management (EVM). Moreover, we examine the appropriateness of the model for predicting the maintenance effort expeditures. Furthermore, we discuss the appropriateness of this EVM method.

摘要Open source software has become a fundamental component of modern software ecosystems,supporting a wide range of critical applications in operating systems,cloud services,embedded systems,and security-sensitive infrastructures.However,the rapid growth of open source projects also brings increasingly serious security challenges.Many widely used C/C++components still contain hidden vulnerabilities,and attackers are no longer limited to exploiting traditional memory-related bugs such as buffer overflows or use-after-free errors.In recent years,non-memory logic flaws,including improper authentication,incorrect state transitions,flawed boundary checks,and insecure API usage,have become more prevalent and more difficult to detect using conventional static analysis or pattern-matching methods.To address these limitations,this study proposes a novel vulnerability detection framework that combines the semantic understanding capability of large language models(LLMs)with the structural representation ability of heterogeneous graph learning.Specifically,we construct a Heterogeneous Vulnerability Graph(HeVG)to explicitly model multiple types of code structures in C/C++programs,including syntax,control flow,data dependency,and function-call relationships.By representing source code as a heterogeneous graph,the proposed framework can capture both local code patterns and long-range dependencies that are essential for identifying complex vulnerabilities.In addition,a cross-modal alignment mechanism is introduced to effectively fuse code-text semantic features extracted by LLMs with graph-based structural representations.This enables the model to jointly understand what the code means and how different program elements interact.Experimental results show that the proposed approach achieves state-of-the-art performance,reaching 80.24%accuracy in single-file vulnerability detection and 71.78%accuracy in cross-file vulnerability detection.Further analysis demonstrates that the framework is particularly effective in detecting complex logic vulnerabilities and maintains strong generalization ability across different projects.These results indicate that integrating LLMs with heterogeneous graph learning provides a promising direction for more accurate and robust open source software vulnerability detection.Open source software faces growing security challenges,with widespread vulnerabilities in critical components and an increasing prevalence of non-memory logic flaws.To address these issues,this study proposes a novel vulnerability detection framework that integrates large language models(LLMs)with heterogeneous graph learning.We introduce a Heterogeneous Vulnerability Graph(HeVG)to explicitly model diverse code structures in C/C++programs,and employ a cross-modal alignment mechanism to fuse semantic information from code text with graph representations.Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach,achieving state-of-the-art performance in both single-file(80.24%accuracy)and cross-file(71.78%accuracy)vulnerability detection.The framework shows particular strength in identifying complex logic vulnerabilities while maintaining high generalization capability across projects.

摘要Vulnerabilities are a known problem in modern Open Source Software(OSS).Most developers often rely on third-party libraries to accelerate feature implementation.However,these libraries may contain vulnerabilities that attackers can exploit to propagate malicious code,posing security risks to dependent projects.Existing research addresses these challenges through Software Composition Analysis(SCA)for vulnerability detection and remediation.Nevertheless,current solutions may introduce additional issues,such as incompatibilities,dependency conflicts,and additional vulnerabilities.To address this,we propose Vulnerability Scan and Protection(VulnScanPro),a robust solution for detection and remediation vulnerabilities in Java projects.Specifically,VulnScanPro builds a finegrained method graph to identify unreachable methods.The method graph is mapped to the project’s dependency tree,constructing a comprehensive vulnerability propagation graph that identifies unreachable vulnerable APIs and dependencies.Based on this analysis,we propose three solutions for vulnerability remediation:(1)Removing unreachable vulnerable dependencies,thereby resolving security risks and reducing maintenance overhead.(2)Upgrading vulnerable dependencies to the closest non-vulnerable versions,while pinning the versions of transitive dependencies introduced by the vulnerable dependency,in order to mitigate compatibility issues and prevent the introduction of new vulnerabilities.(3)Eliminating unreachable vulnerable APIs,particularly when security patches are either incompatible or absent.Experimental results show that these solutions effectively mitigate vulnerabilities and enhance the overall security of the project.
摘要The software reliability model is the stochastic model to measure the software reliability quantitatively. A Hazard-Rate Model is the well-known one as the typical software reliability model. We propose Hazard-Rate Models Considering Fault Severity Levels (CFSL) for Open Source Software (OSS). The purpose of this research is to make the Hazard-Rate Model considering CFSL adapt to baseline hazard function and 2 kinds of faults data in Bug Tracking System (BTS), i.e., we use the covariate vectors in Cox proportional Hazard-Rate Model. Also, we show the numerical examples by evaluating the performance of our proposed model. As the result, we compare the performance of our model with the Hazard-Rate Model CFSL.

摘要An open-source software for field-based plant phenotyping,Precision Plots Analyzer(PREPs),was developed using Window.NET.The software runs on 64-bit Windows computers.This software allows the extraction of phenotypic traits on a per-microplot basis from orthomosaic and digital surface model(DSM)images generated by Structure-from-Motion/Multi-View-Stereo(SfM-MVS)tools.Moreover,there is no need to acquire skills in geographical information system(GIS)or programming languages for image analysis.Three use cases illustrated the software's functionality.The first involved monitoring the growth of sugar beet varieties in an experimental field using an unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV),where differences among varieties were detected through estimates of crop height,coverage,and volume index.Second,mixed varieties of potato crops were estimated using a UAV and varietal differences were observed from the estimated phenotypic traits.A strong correlation was observed between the manually measured crop height and UAV-estimated crop height.Finally,using a multicamera array attached to a tractor,the height,coverage,and volume index of the 3 potato varieties were precisely estimated.PREPs software is poised to be a useful tool that allows anyone without prior knowledge of programming to extract crop traits for phenotyping.
摘要Objectives A nurse duty roster is usually prepared monthly in a hospital ward.It is common for nurses to make duty shift requests prior to scheduling.A ward manager normally spends more than a working day to manually prepare and subsequently to optimally adjust the schedule upon staff requests and hospital policies.This study aimed to develop an automatic nurse roster scheduling system with the use of open-source operational research tools by taking into account the hospital standards and the constraints from nurses.Methods Artificial intelligence and end user tools operational research tools were used to develop the code for the nurse duty roster scheduling system.To compare with previous research on various heuristics in employee scheduling,the current system was developed on open architecture and adopted with real shift duty requirements in a hospital ward.Results The schedule can be generated within 1 min under both hard and soft constraint optimization.All hard constraints are fulfilled and most nurse soft constraints could be met.Compared with those schedules prepared manually,the computer-generated schedules were more optimally adjusted as real time interaction among nurses and management personnel.The generated schedules were flexible to cope with daily and hourly duty changes by redeploying ward staff in order to maintain safe staffing levels.Conclusions An economical but yet highly efficient and user friendly solution to nurse roster scheduling system has been developed and adopted using open-source operational research methodology.The open-source platform is found to perform satisfactorily in scheduling application.The system can be implemented to different wards in hospitals and be regularly updated with new hospital polices and nurse manpower by hospital information personnel with training in artificial intelligence.

摘要The advancement of effective spatial planning to support sustainable development and interregional cooperation has become an issue of serious concern for regional authorities.Spatial planning research helps to identify economic clusters and analyze their changing spatial patterns,which is important for understanding regional economic space dynamics and poten-tial inter-regional cooperation.To support decision-makers in the development of efficient plans of spatial development encompassing the identification of the best-suited territories,a combined Geographic Information System(GIS)based approach to interpret qualitatively expressed multiple socio-economic scenarios in quantitative map-based terms of graded suitability,and a formalized approach to the socio-economic evaluation of the territory is offered.Based on GIS technology coupled with integrated cellular automata decision analysis techniques,the study provides a method that performs socio-economic assessment of the study area according to the generated scenarios of regional spatial and socio-economic development.The proposed method is applied to Primorsky and Khabarovsk Krais,located in the Russian Far East.Socio-economic scenarios of spatial development initiated by investors and regional authorities were assessed and evaluated.The generated socio-economic scenar-ios illustrate how the unified set of spatial and socio-economic variables can be linked and used to gain insights into inter-regional socio-economic and spatial development.The application results demonstrate the advantage of the proposed method in identifying the best-suited unit areas for targeted regional development.
摘要A submergible robot model has been presented, and for 3D printing measures, their parts have been modified enough. It has been shown in our design that using printable connectors—a few engines and weight arrangements can be carried out, permitting distinctive moving prospects. After presenting our configuration and delineating a bunch of potential structures, a helpful model dependent on open-source equipment and programming arrangements has been presented conditionally. The model can be effectively tried in a few makes-a plunge streams and lakes throughout the planet. The unwavering quality of the printed models can be strained distinctly in generally shallow waters. Nonetheless, we accept that their accessibility will inspire the overall population to construct and test submerged robots, subsequently accelerating the improvement of imaginative arrangements and applications.
摘要Software reliability model is the tool to measure the software reliability quantitatively. Hazard-Rate model is one of the most popular ones. The purpose of our research is to propose the hazard-rate model considering fault level for Open Source Software (OSS). Moreover, we aim to adapt our proposed model to the hazard-rate considering the imperfect debugging environment. We have analyzed the trend of fault severity level by using fault data in Bug Tracking System (BTS) and proposed our model based on the result of analysis. Also, we have shown the numerical example for evaluating the performance of our proposed model. Furthermore, we have extended our proposed model to the hazard-rate considering the imperfect debugging environment and showed numerical example for evaluating the possibility of application. As the result, we found out that performance of our proposed model is better than typical hazard-rate models. Also, we verified the possibility of application of proposed model to hazard-rate model considering imperfect debugging.
摘要Radial Basis Function methods for scattered data interpolation and for the numerical solution of PDEs were originally implemented in a global manner. Subsequently, it was realized that the methods could be implemented more efficiently in a local manner and that the local approaches could match or even surpass the accuracy of the global implementations. In this work, three localization approaches are compared: a local RBF method, a partition of unity method, and a recently introduced modified partition of unity method. A simple shape parameter selection method is introduced and the application of artificial viscosity to stabilize each of the local methods when approximating time-dependent PDEs is reviewed. Additionally, a new type of quasi-random center is introduced which may be better choices than other quasi-random points that are commonly used with RBF methods. All the results within the manuscript are reproducible as they are included as examples in the freely available Python Radial Basis Function Toolbox.
