Ammonia combustion does not produce carbon dioxide,and has been recognized as one of the promising approaches to achieving carbon neutrality in transportation sector.Due to the slow flame propagation speed and high ignition energy requirements,reactive fuel pilot ignition is essential for ammonia combustion in compression ignition engines.The reduction of pilot fuel drives CO2 mitigation by curtailing carbon input,but this has a demand of advanced combustion modulation techniques to sustain engine efficiency.Designed pilot fuel stratification enables an activated in-cylinder environment,overcoming the difficulty in ammonia ignition and combustion,and allowing for a minimal pilot fuel amount to trigger premixed ammonia combustion.The minimum pilot fuel permits 99.1% ammonia energy substitution,accounting for only 1.3% of the CO2 emissions from diesel combustion at the same load condition.Optimized intake organization coupled with improved reactivity stratification also achieves over 46%brake thermal efficiency,and reduces unburned ammonia by over 80% compared to baseline operation. 展开更多

Human-machine collaboration is a key feature of Single Pilot Operations(SPO).With only a single pilot in the cockpit,workload monitoring and adjustment become even more critical compared to Dual-Pilot Operations(DPO).Hence,a dynamic function allocation mechanism must be established—increasing the Level of Automation(LOA)under high workload conditions and reducing it under low workload conditions to maintain situational awareness.To address the challenges of excessive subjectivity and limited knowledge transfer in the existing dynamic function allocation methods,this paper proposes a dynamic function allocation method based on Bayesianenhanced Q-Learning(BQL).First,a Bayesian Network(BN)is constructed to predict HumanMachine System(HMS)performance,determining when reallocation should be triggered.Compared to the existing trigger mechanisms,this approach enables earlier activation while maintaining non-intrusive.Then,the BN-predicted HMS performance is integrated into the reward feedback for the reinforcement learning algorithm,allowing the system to continuously refine its strategy through interaction with the environment.Finally,flight experiments conducted in a low-fidelity SPO simulator,incorporating both objective physiological monitoring and subjective assessments,validate the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Psychological treatments such as exposure and response prevention(ERP)or cognitive behavioral therapy are effective in obsessive-compulsive disorder(OCD),either on their own or in combination with medications.However,very few patients receive ERP or cognitive behavioral therapy.Digital-delivered psychotherapy can surmount many obstacles associated with conventional psychotherapy,but there are very few trials of videoconferencing(VC)delivered ERP for OCD,particularly from low-resource settings.AIM To examine the VC-delivered ERP’s feasibility,acceptability,efficacy,and longterm outcomes and compare its efficacy with inpatient ERP.METHODS This study compared VC ERP’s pre-and post-intervention efficacy(n=20)with a matched group of patients who had undergone inpatient ERP(n=17).The Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale(YBOCS)scores rated the efficacy of ERP.The feasibility outcomes for VC-delivered ERP included the operational capacity,treatment utilization,treatment engagement,use of other services,and adverse events.Treatment satisfaction and preferences among users determined acceptability.Long-term follow-up determined whether patients were in remission based on the YBOCS scores and other criteria.RESULTS The sample had 97 patients with OCD.The patients had severe(YBOCS score 27)and chronic(6 years)OCD with psychiatric comorbidity(51%).The refusal rate for VC-ERP was 11%,and the dropout rate was 19%.VC-ERP failed in 29%with treatment-resistant OCD.The 20 patients who completed VC-ERP had 85% reductions in the YBOCS scores and recovered completely.The two groups did not differ in the change in YBOCS scores with the treatment.Gains from VC-ERP persisted for more than 2 years.The VC platform could deliver ERP despite the fluctuating network connectivity and variable patient motivation.The VC treatment improved access to ERP for many more patients.Users found VC-ERP acceptable and appreciated its advantages over inpatient ERP.CONCLUSION Despite its methodological limitations,this study suggests that VC-delivered ERP is feasible,acceptable,and as efficacious as in-person ERP for OCD in the resource-constrained settings of low-and middle-income countries. 展开更多

The orthogonal time frequency space(OTFS)modulation is a novel modulation scheme that can effectively cope with the high Doppler expansion caused by high mobility.Since it modulates data on delay-Doppler(DD)domain and makes full use of the sparse characteristics of DD domain,it has been widely studied to design efficient channel estimation and signal detection schemes.In this paper,we design a novel superimposed pilot pattern with transition band,which replaces the traditional embedded pilot(EP)guard zero-symbols,and perform a two-stage channel estimation.In the first stage,we fully utilize the dispersion characteristics of OTFS signal in DD domain,and use threshold decision to make coarse channel estimation.In the second stage,we use the results of the coarse estimation for iterative signal detection and accurate channel estimation.During the second stage,we make full use of the sparsity of the channel in DD domain,remodel the received signal into the form of sparse channel vector multiplied by channel coefficient matrix,and introduce Doppler index segmentation factor(DISF)to subdivide the Doppler index to solve the problem of fractional Doppler.Simulations reveal that,the scheme proposed in this paper has higher spectral efficiency compared with traditional EP scheme and lower peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR)compared with traditional superimposed pilot scheme. 展开更多

Objective:Olfactory dysfunction(OD)is a common and persistent symptom of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)for which effective treatments remain limited.Acupuncture,widely used in Chinese medicine for olfactory disorders has uncertain efficacy in post-COVID-19 OD.Therefore,in this study,we aimed to explore the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of acupuncture in patients with post-COVID-19 OD.Methods:This study was a dual-phased study.Phase I involved a systematic review conducted in accordance with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA)guidelines,encompassing eight databases.Phase II consisted of a pilot randomized controlled trial(RCT)enrolling 25 patients with moderate to severe post-COVID-19 OD.Participants were randomly assigned to receive either real(group A)or sham(group B)acupuncture.The intervention included eight sessions over 4 weeks,with assessments at baseline,post-cycle 1,2-week washout,post-cycle-2 treatment,and 2-week follow-up.The primary outcome was the change in scores on the 12-item Assessment of Self-Reported Olfactory Functioning and Quality of Life(ASOF).Secondary outcomes included the short version of the Questionnaire of Olfactory Disorders-Negative Statements(sQOD-NS)and the traditional Chinese version of the University of Pennsylvania Smell Identification Test(UPSIT-TC).Results:The systematic review identified 22 studies(15 case reports,seven RCTs)suggesting that acupuncture may positively influence olfactory function.In the pilot RCT,no significant baseline differences were observed between groups.Group A showed steady improvement across all ASOF domains during Cycle 1(SOC,mean=5.86;SRP,mean=3.26;ORQ,mean=3.98),with slight declines during cycle 2 and 2-week follow-up,though scores remained above baseline.Post-cycle 1,group A showed higher mean SOC and ORQ scores compared with group B(7.00 vs.4.67;3.98 vs.3.39).Improvements in secondary outcomes were also more pronounced in group A,whereas group B showed minimal changes.Conclusion:Acupuncture appears to be a safe and potentially effective treatment for post-COVID-19 OD,warranting validation through larger clinical trials. 展开更多

Absorption-based carbon dioxide(CO2)capture is limited by high regeneration energy and low cyclic capacity.Blends of methyldiethanolamine(MDEA)and piperazine(PZ)are promising for high CO2-content sources like biogas,outperforming conventional amines in both respects.However,their largescale CO2 capture performance remains unexplored due to difficulties in obtaining reliable pilot-scale data.Here,we present,for the first time,pilot-scale data on MDEA/PZ blends through absorber experiments,validated via steady-state data reconciliation and compared with Aspen Plus simulations.MDEA/PZ blends were benchmarked under emulated biogas upgrading conditions in a 10 m high pilot absorber,processing feed gas with 38%—51%(vol)CO2.Lean-to-gas flow,solvent temperature,and PZto-MDEA ratio were varied in the pilot campaigns.Data reconciliation validated the steady states within a 95%confidence interval,enhancing dataset reliability and model accuracy.Solvent requirements are reduced by 45%using the lean temperatures of 30℃ compared to 50℃.Doubling the PZ concentration further reduced the solvent requirement by 25%. 展开更多

Against the backdrop of accelerated development of new forms of trade,the question of whether rapid expansion of cross-border e-commerce(CBEC)can help to reduce carbon emissions among Chinese enterprises is of great significance for seizing new opportunities in foreign trade,and advancing firms’green and low-carbon transformation.This study treats the creation of CBEC pilot zones as a quasi-natural experiment,employing panel data from Chinese A-share listed companies matched with city-level information from 2006 to 2021.We construct a multi-period difference-in-differences model to identify the impact of CBEC pilot zone policy on corporate carbon emissions.Our findings indicate the construction of these pilot zones significantly reduces firms’carbon emissions intensity,and the results are robust across multiple tests.We show the pilot zone initiative contributes to emission reductions by enhancing the adoption of digital infrastructure,promoting green technological innovation,and increasing environmental awareness among enterprises.Quantile regressions reveal pilot zones exert a more pronounced carbon-reduction effect on firms characterized by high carbon emissions intensity and advanced levels of digital transformation.Moreover,the policy effect is especially significant in heavily polluting industries,and regions with weaker governmental environmental regulations or lower public environmental concerns.This study makes an innovative contribution to the literature by empirically verifying the environmental governance effect of establishing CBEC pilot zones,and offers practical guidance for governments in formulating cross-border e-commerce policies and for enterprises pursuing low carbon development. 展开更多

Neural receivers have demonstrated strong performance in wireless communication systems.However,their effectiveness typically depends on access to large-scale,scenario-specific channel data for training,which is often difficult to obtain in practice.Recently,generative artificial intelligence(AI)models,particularly diffusion models(DMs),have emerged as effective tools for synthesizing high-dimensional data.This paper presents a scenario-specific channel generation method based on conditional DMs,which accurately model channel distributions conditioned on user location and velocity information.The generated synthetic channel data are then employed for data augmentation to improve the training of a neural receiver designed for superimposed pilot-based transmission.Experimental results show that the proposed method generates highfidelity channel samples and significantly enhances neural receiver performance in the target scenarios,outperforming conventional data augmentation and generative adversarial network-based techniques. 展开更多

Coal dependence and inefficient decentralized heating have significantly increased China’s energy consumption for winter heating,increasing air pollution and exacerbating the greenhouse effect.In 2017,China implemented the Pilot Policy on Clean Winter Heating in Northern China,aiming to achieve high central heating coverage and cleaner energy consumption.Studying the effects of this policy can help promote its implementation and serve as a reference for effective adjustment of the contents in the future.However,few studies have investigated this policy and its carbon reduction effects,and most focus on the provincial or city levels.Therefore,this paper considers the policy’s influence on air pollution and carbon emissions at the county level to provide a precise and comprehensive assessment of the policy effects.We use panel data from 1290 counties in 15 provinces in Northern China from 2014 to 2021,applying a multiperiod difference-in-differences model to quantify the impact of the policy on carbon emissions and air quality in the pilot area.We then conduct a series of tests to demonstrate the robustness of the results and analyze the mechanisms of the policy effects from two perspectives,namely,central heating and natural gas use,through a mediating effect model.Finally,we examine the heterogeneity of policy effects between counties based on geographic location and per capita income levels of rural residents through a moderating effect model.The results reveal that the policy significantly reduces air pollution and carbon emissions in the pilot area by increasing the central heating area and natural gas use.Compared with the central and western regions in the north and areas with low-income rural residents,the policy effects in the eastern regions in the north and areas with high-income rural residents are more pronounced. 展开更多

Addressing the environmental issues of traditional vanadium extraction methods from vanadium-bearing shale,a highly efficient and clean suspension oxidation roasting-curing-leaching process was proposed and semi-industrial trials were conducted.Vanadium in raw ore mainly exists in sericite,roscoelite,and limonite,predominantly in the forms of V(Ⅲ)and V(Ⅳ).Under the conditions of a feed rate of 30 kg/h,an air flow rate of 28.0 m3/h,an O2 flow rate of 4.0 m3/h,and a temperature of 900℃ in both the suspension furnace and fluidized reactor,the vanadium-bearing mica underwent dehydroxylation and transformed into illite-montmorillonite.These changes disrupted the crystal structure of mica,facilitating vanadium extraction.Compared to direct acid leaching,curing-leaching demonstrates better performance in vanadium extraction.Under the conditions of curing temperature of 130℃,acid dosage of 40 wt.%,curing time of 6 h,and leaching time of 3 h,a V2O5 leaching efficiency of 83.92% was achieved. 展开更多

Sewage sludge in cities of Yangzi River Belt,China,generally exhibits a lower organic content and higher silt contentdue to leakage of drainage system,which caused low bioenergy recovery and carbon emission benefits in conventional anaerobic digestion(CAD).Therefore,this paper is on a pilot scale,a bio-thermophilic pretreatment anaerobic digestion(BTPAD)for low organic sludge(volatile solids(VS)of 4%)was operated with a long-term continuous flow of 200 days.The VS degradation rate and CH4 yield of BTPAD increased by 19.93%and 53.33%,respectively,compared to those of CAD.The analysis of organic compositions in sludge revealed that BTPAD mainly improved the hydrolysis of proteins in sludge.Further analysis of microbial community proportions by high-throughput sequencing revealed that the short-term bio-thermophilic pretreatment was enriched in Clostridiales,Coprothermobacter and Gelria,was capable of hydrolyzing acidified proteins,and provided more volatile fatty acid(VFA)for the subsequent reaction.Biome combined with fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction(PCR)analysis showed that the number of bacteria with high methanogenic capacity in BTPAD was much higher than that in CAD during the medium temperature digestion stage,indicating that short-term bio-thermophilic pretreatment could provide better methanogenic conditions for BTPAD.Furthermore,the greenhouse gas emission footprint analysis showed that short-term bio-thermophilic pretreatment could reduce the carbon emission of sludge anaerobic digestion system by 19.18%. 展开更多

The clinical application of solid lipid particles(SLPs)is hampered due to the need for advanced nano/micro-suspension production technology.This research aims to establish a pilot-scale production line employing high-speed shears as emulsification equipment.The primary purpose is to manufacture nano/micro-suspensions using solid lipid particles(SLPs).The study also exhaustively introduces and analyzes the regulatory schemes for process parameters and formulations at various stages of production.The process and formulation endured optimization through orthog-onal or single-factor tests at various production steps:laboratory research,small-scale trial production,and pilot production.Quality standards for the product were determined,and key parameters were obtained at each stage.The laboratory research demonstrated that the optimal SLPs comprised 15 mL 3%polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)per 1.0 g tilmicosin and 2.5 g carnauba wax(WAX).During small-scale production,modifications were made to the volume of the aqueous phase,emulsifier concentration,and emulsification strength,setting them to 16 mL,5%,and 2200 r/min,respectively.In the pilot production stage,the shear time was considered optimal at eight min.The impurity,content,polydispersion coefficient(PDI),and size of the pilot product were<3%,5%,0385 and 2.64μm,respectively.Among the several parameters studied,heating temperature,drug-lipid ratio,and emulsifier concentration were identified as the main factors affecting product quality,and they were regulated at 100℃,1:3,and 5%,respectively.A novel hot melt emulsification shear method aided the development of a new solid lipid-based suspension from its preliminary stages in the laboratory to pilot production.This innovation is expected to enhance solid lipid-based suspensions'industrial evolution extensively. 展开更多

This study explores the mechanisms by which China’s pilot carbon emissions trading schemes(ETS)facilitate industrial low-carbon transitions.We construct a theoretical model and conduct an empirical analysis using provincial panel data from seven pilot provinces spanning 2006-2021.Applying a multi-period difference-in-differences(DID)approach,we evaluate the environmental and economic impacts of the pilot ETS policies.The findings yield three key insights:(1)The pilot ETS significantly reduces carbon emission intensity and improves low-carbon total factor productivity(TFP),thereby promoting China’s industrial low-carbon transition.(2)Mechanism analysis indicates that the ETS primarily operates through cost constraints and industrial structural upgrading,while the effect of technological progress has yet to fully materialize.(3)Heterogeneity analysis reveals that the policy’s effects are more significant in regions with higher levels of economic development and R&D investment,leading to greater carbon intensity reductions and productivity gains.In addition,regions with higher foreign direct investment(FDI)experience more substantial improvements in low-carbon TFP,possibly reflecting technology spillover effects. 展开更多

In this paper,an interference cancellation based neural receiver for superimposed pilot(SIP)in multi-layer transmission is proposed,where the data and pilot are non-orthogonally superimposed in the same time-frequency resource.Specifically,to deal with the intra-layer and inter-layer interference of SIP under multi-layer transmission,the interference cancellation with superimposed symbol aided channel estimation is leveraged in the neural receiver,accompanied by the pre-design of pilot code-division orthogonal mechanism at transmitter.In addition,to address the complexity issue for inter-vendor collaboration and the generalization problem in practical deployments,respectively,this paper also provides a fixed SIP(F-SIP)design based on constant pilot power ratio and scalable mechanisms for different modulation and coding schemes(MCSs)and transmission layers.Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed schemes on the performance of block error rate and throughput compared with existing counterparts. 展开更多

The use of extended reality(XR)spectrum technologies as substitutes to augment traditional simulators in pilot flight training has received significant interest in recent times.A systematic review was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of XR technologies for this purpose and better understand the motivating factors for this use.The systematic review followed the QUOROM framework(adapted for educational studies),screening 1237 candidate articles to 67 eligible for thematic analysis,with 5 of these also meeting meta-analysis criteria.Existing literature emphasizes the benefits of these technologies,particularly as a result of immersiveness and spatial awareness,enabling the application of more modern educational theories.Although the existing literature is concerned with much of the industry,there is a specific focus on general aviation and the more ab initio skills of flight.The results of the meta-analysis indicate improvements in pilot performance,with an overall meta-analytic effect size estimate of 0.884(z=2.248,P=0.025),which is positive,statistically significant,and moderately strong.The findings of this review indicate support for the use and intention for the use of XR in pilot flight training simulators.However,multiple serious research gaps exist,such as the potential higher occurrence of simulator sickness and cybersickness,and a lack of robust research trials that examine transfer of training across the full pilot skill set and curricular contexts.This novel systematic review and meta-analysis represent a significant attempt to shape and direct better research to help to direct flourishing technological XR development in a time of increasing pilot shortages and aviation growth. 展开更多

A pilot plant integrating pervaporation membrane bioreactor and mechanical vapor compression for bioethanol production was designed and constructed in the study,with a bioethanol production of 300 t·a-1.Key equipment in the process were designed based on bench test data.A pilot-scale fermenter with 20 m3 in volume,4 m in height and 2.5 m in diameter was designed based on geometric similarity criterion and power equality criterion.An integrated plate-frame membrane module with 105 plates was newly developed.Compared with conventional batch fermentation,the improvement of equipment utilization efficiency and the cell utilization efficiency can be expected as 1.5-2.0 times and 2-10 times,respectively,with waste water reduced by 70% to 85%.The high-exergy energy requirement for pilot plant was 57.5 k W,of which the broth preheater occupied 85.7%,following by the compressor 1.1%,pump1.9% and fermenter agitator 0.3%.The total energy requirement including distillation for producing 1 kg ethanol(95%(mass)) achieved an energy surplus of 15.6 MJ. 展开更多

Background Self-care behaviors are essential for managing type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM),even among patients receiving specialized clinical care.However,limited evidence exists on how these behaviors affect glycemic outcomes in Nigerian patients already engaged with endocrinology services.This study assessed self-care practices and their association with glycemic control among T2DM patients attending two specialized clinics in Gusau,Nigeria.Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted among 262 adult T2DM patients from two endocrinology clinics in Gusau,Nigeria.Participants were recruited using a convenience sampling approach during routine clinic visits.Each completed questionnaires on demographics,the Summary of Diabetes Self-Care Activities(SDSCA),and the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale(MMAS-4).Fasting blood glucose levels were used to assess glycemic control.Logistic regression analyzed the association between self-care behaviors and glycemic outcomes;linear regression identified influencing factors.Results Among 262 participants,45.8%had uncontrolled fasting blood glucose(≥7 mmol/L).Higher overall self-care scores were significantly associated with better glycemic control(OR 0.83;95%CI 0.78-0.88;P<0.001).Dietary adherence(OR 0.72;95%CI 0.61-0.85),physical activity(OR 0.74;95%CI 0.65-0.84),and blood glucose monitoring(OR 0.22;95%CI 0.09-0.54)were significantly associated with improved glycemic outcomes.Foot care(OR 0.98;P=0.797)and medication adherence(OR 3.21;P=0.095)showed no significant association.Males,older adults(≥60 years),and Yoruba/Igbo participants had lower dietary scores,while exercise scores were higher among males,singles,and Igbo patients.Longer diabetes duration(≥20 years)was linked to better medication adherence and exercise.Conclusions Self-care behaviors were significantly associated with glycemic control among T2DM patients attending two specialized endocrinology clinics in Gusau,Nigeria.Interventions tailored to demographic and cultural contexts are essential to strengthen adherence in key areas such as diet,physical activity,and glucose monitoring.These findings underscore the importance of supporting self-management,even in patients with established access to clinical care. 展开更多

The Impact of Establishing Pilot Free Trade Zones on Integration Into the Digital Global Value Chain 认领 引用

This study utilizes panel data from 293 Chinese cities at the prefecture level or above,spanning from 2013 to 2022,to empirically examine the net effects and underlying mechanisms of establishing pilot free trade zones(FTZs)on integration into the digital global value chain(DGVC).The results demonstrate that the establishment of pilot FTZs positively promotes integration into the DGVC and generates a spatial spillover effect.Compared to coastal areas and small-and medium-sized cities,pilot FTZs have a more significant impact on the integration of inland regions and large cities into the DGVC.Mechanism tests reveal that pilot FTZs drive integration into the DGVC primarily by promoting digital industry agglomeration and enhancing the technological content of exports.Furthermore,bilateral foreign direct investment and digital trade rules positively amplify the impact of pilot FTZs on integration into the DGVC.Therefore,this study recommends comprehensively deepening the development of pilot FTZs,consistently enhancing the technological content of exports,and proactively establishing a sound digital trade regulatory framework.These recommendations offer valuable insights for DGVC integration and the construction of a high-standard free trade network. 展开更多
