Angular differential cross sections for elastic scattering and charge transfer in low-energy He+-He collisions underpin diverse plasma applications,yet systematic quantum mechanical data remain scarce.Employing the fully quantum mechanical molecular-orbital close-coupling method with high-accuracy ab initio potential energy curves,absolute angular differential cross sections are computed over 0.005-1250 eV/u and scattering angles 0.01°-90°.The present results show good agreement with available high-resolution experimental benchmarks in both magnitude and oscillatory structure,with improved consistency over existing semiclassical and single-electron approaches.By decomposing the cross sections into separate symmetric and antisymmetric channel contributions,three classes of oscillatory structures and their energy evolution are identified:regular oscillations from two-channel quantum interference,irregular oscillations from rainbow scattering in the deep attractive well,and fine-scale oscillations from matter-wave diffraction off the repulsive wall.This work provides the first systematic,fully quantum mechanical differential cross-section dataset across the low-energy and full angular range,serving as reliable reference data for plasma modeling and related applications. 展开更多

Systematic disagreements exist mainly in the available partial photoneutron cross sectionsσ(γ,inX)(i=1,2),which were measured using quasimonoenergetic annihilation photons at the Saclay(France)and Livermore(USA)laboratories based on neutron multiplicity sorting methods.In this study,the reliability of theσ(γ,inX)for 142-146,148,150Nd isotopes obtained at Saclay was evaluated using an experimental–theoretical method that satisfies the data reliability criteria proposed based on the theoretical model in TALYS.Our evaluations were then compared with the major Evaluated Nuclear Data Libraries,and the differences from the available experimental data were analyzed.It was found that theσ(γ,1nX)data of Saclay were overestimated and theσ(γ,2nX)data were underestimated in the 144-146,148,150Nd cases,which is consistent with the conclusion of Varlamov;on the contrary,theσ(γ,1nX)were underestimated and theσ(γ,2nX)were overestimated in the 142,143Nd cases.Possible reasons for the above inconsistency in the Nd isotopes were further analyzed.Interestingly,subtracting the contribution of isotopic target impurities significantly reduced the discrepancy in the 143Nd case.However,this is no longer applicable to the 142Nd case,and other factors,including the detector efficiency and accidental coincidence events,should be fully considered to resolve such discrepancies. 展开更多

Complex interchanges and elevated lifting sections represent critical nodes in the reconstruction and expansion projects of expressways and urban express roads,characterized by the most intricate structures,highest risks,and greatest traffic disruptions.Under conditions of heavy network traffic,limited construction space,frequent structural transitions,and interweaving multi-directional traffic flows,conventional traffic organization methods struggle to ensure both construction safety and network efficiency.To systematically address core challenges such as traffic dispersion,safety management,construction transitions,and network coordination faced during the reconstruction and expansion of complex interchanges and elevated lifting sections,this paper outlines the engineering characteristics and traffic pain points of these projects.It proposes key technologies for traffic organization in both complex interchange reconstruction and elevated lifting section reconstruction,aiming to provide technical references for similar complex node reconstruction projects.These technologies hold significant engineering value in enhancing traffic safety during construction,reducing congestion risks,and ensuring the smooth operation of the road network. 展开更多

Here,we report the spin-orbit state-resolved differential cross sections(DCSs)for the prototype barrierless reaction S(1D)+HD.Both product channels,namely H+SD(2Π3/2,1/2)and D+SH(2Π3/2,1/2),were measured by high-resolution crossed molecular beam experiments.The DCSs of the two product channels show an overall forward-backward symmetry,in accordance with statistical model predictions.However,the DCSs for different spin-orbit manifolds show different preferences in forward or backward scattering directions at the same collision energies.This study reveals that,even though the title reaction proceeds via the long-lived complex mechanism,the spin-orbit coupling effects in the product channels play an important role in the reaction process. 展开更多

Tissue clearing combined with high-resolution confocal imaging is a cutting-edge approach for dissecting the three-dimensional(3D)architecture of tissues and deciphering cellular spatial interactions under physiological and pathological conditions.Deciphering the spatial interaction of leptin receptor-expressing(LepR+)stromal cells with other compartments in the bone marrow is crucial for a deeper understanding of the stem cell niche and the skeletal tissue.In this study,we introduce an optimized protocol for the 3D analysis of skeletal tissues,enabling the visualization of hematopoietic and stromal cells,especially LepR+stromal cells,within optically cleared bone hemisections.Our method preserves the 3D tissue architecture and is extendable to other hematopoietic sites such as calvaria and vertebrae.The protocol entails tissue fixation,decalcification,and cryosectioning to reveal the marrow cavity.Completed within approximately 12 days,this process yields highly transparent tissues that maintain genetically encoded or antibody-stained fluorescent signals.The bone hemisections are compatible with diverse antibody labeling strategies.Confocal microscopy of these transparent samples allows for qualitative and quantitative image analysis using Aivia or Bitplane Imaris software,assessing a spectrum of parameters.With proper storage,the fluorescent signal in the stained and cleared bone hemisections remains intact for at least 2–3 months.This protocol is robust,straightforward to implement,and highly reproducible,offering a valuable tool for tissue architecture and cellular interaction studies. 展开更多

Inelastic collisions are the dominant cause of energy loss in radiotherapy.In the energy range around the Bragg peak,single ionization(SI)and single-electron capture(SC)are the primary inelastic collisions that lead to energy loss.This study employs the classical trajectory Monte Carlo method to study the SI and SC processes of H2O molecules using He2+ and C6+ projectiles in the energy range of 10 keV/u to 10 MeV/u.The total cross sections,single differential cross sections,impact parameter dependence of SI and SC,and fragmentation cross sections were investigated.Results illustrate that the cross section for SI is the highest when the projectile energy is close to the Bragg peak energy.When the projectile energy is below the Bragg peak energy,the ionized electrons in the forward direction dominate,and the removal of electrons can be associated with large impact parameters.As the projectile energy increases,the emission angle of the electrons gradually transitions from small angles(60°~120°)to large angles(60°~120°),and the removal of electrons is associated with small impact parameters.The energy distributions of the ionized electron are similar when the projectile energy is equal to,below or above the Bragg peak energy.The fragmentation cross sections after SI and SC in the energy range around the Bragg peak were also estimated. 展开更多

The neutron capture cross section for165Ho was measured at the backstreaming white neutron beam line(Back-n)of the China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS)using total energy detection systems,composed of a set of four C6D6scintillator detectors coupled with pulse height weighting techniques.The resonance parameters were extracted using the multilevel multichannel R-matrix code SAMMY to fit the measured capture yields of the165Ho(n,γ)reaction in the neutron energy range below100 eV.Subsequently,the resonance region’s capture cross sections were reconstructed based on the obtained parameters.Furthermore,the unresolved resonance average cross section of the165Ho(n,γ)reaction was determined relative to that of the standard sample197Au within the neutron energy range of 2 keV to 1 MeV.The experimental data were compared with the recommended nuclear data from the ENDF/B-VIII.0 library,as well as with results of calculations performed using the TALYS-1.9 code.The comparison revealed agreement between the measured165Ho(n,γ)cross sections and these data.The present results are crucial for evaluating the165Ho neutron capture cross section and thus enhance the quality of evaluated nuclear data libraries.They provide valuable guidance for nuclear theoretical models and nuclear astrophysical studies. 展开更多

To overcome the limitations of low efficiency and reliance on manual processes in the measurement of geometric parameters for bridge prefabricated components,a method based on deep learning and computer vision is developed to identify the geometric parameters.The study utilizes a common precast element for highway bridges as the research subject.First,edge feature points of the bridge component section are extracted from images of the precast component cross-sections by combining the Canny operator with mathematical morphology.Subsequently,a deep learning model is developed to identify the geometric parameters of the precast components using the extracted edge coordinates from the images as input and the predefined control parameters of the bridge section as output.A dataset is generated by varying the control parameters and noise levels for model training.Finally,field measurements are conducted to validate the accuracy of the developed method.The results indicate that the developed method effectively identifies the geometric parameters of bridge precast components,with an error rate maintained within 5%. 展开更多

The neutron capture cross sections(n,γ)of bromine were obtained using the time-of-flight technique at the Back-n facility of the China Spallation Neutron Source.Promptγ-rays originating from neutron-induced capture events were detected using four C6D6 detectors.The pulse-height weighting technique and double-bunch unfolding method based on Bayesian theory were used in the data analysis.Background deductions,normalization,and corrections were carefully considered to obtain reliable measurement results.The multilevel R-matrix Bayesian code SAMMY was used to extract the resonance parameters in the resolved resonance region(RRR).The average cross sections in the unresolved resonance region(URR)were obtained from 10 to 400 keV.The experimental results were compared with data from several evaluated libraries and previous experi-ments in the RRR and URR.The TALYS code was used to describe the average cross sections in the URR.The astrophysical Maxwell average cross sections(MACSs)of 79,81Br from kT=5 to 100 keV were calculated over a sufficiently wide range of neutron energies.At a thermal energy of kT=30 keV,the MACS value for 79Br 682±68 mb was in good agreement with the KADoNiS v1.0 recommended value.By contrast,the value of 293±29 mb for 81Br was substantially higher than that of the evaluated database and the KADoNiS v1.0 recommended value. 展开更多

The direct and dissociative ionizations of oxygen molecule are investigated experimen-tally by electron collision with energies from 350 eV to 8000 eV.The absolute ionization cross sections for the product ions(O22+,O22+O+,O2+,and their total)and two Coulomb explosion channels(O++O+and O2++O+)are obtained by putting the data of O2+on the scale of Ar+from O2and Ar gases mixed with a fixed relative flow ratio of 1:1.The experimental errors are assessed by taking uncertainties of various factors into account.The present absolute cross sections are well consistent with the previous data in the overlapped energy range below 1000 eV. 展开更多

This work is an attempt to improve the Bayesian neural network (BNN) for studying photoneutron yield cross sections as a function of the charge number Z, mass number A, and incident energy ε. The BNN was improved in terms of three aspects:numerical parameters, input layer, and network structure. First, by minimizing the deviations between the predictions and data, the numerical parameters, including the hidden layer number, hidden node number, and activation function, were selected. It was found that the BNN with three hidden layers, 10 hidden nodes, and sigmoid activation function provided the smallest deviations. Second, based on known knowledge,such as the isospin dependence and shape effect, the optimal ground-state properties were selected as input neurons. Third, the Lorentzian function was applied to map the hidden nodes to the output cross sections, and the empirical formula of the Lorentzian parameters was applied to link some of the input nodes to the output cross sections. It was found that the last two aspects improved the predictions and avoided overfitting, especially for the axially deformed nucleus. 展开更多

The three-body distorted=wave Born approximation has been used to calculate the (e, 2e) triple differential cross sections (TDCSs) of Cu+ (3p) in different kinematical variables in coplanar asymmetric geometry. The angles 4°, 10° and 20° were selected as the scattering electron angles. Under high incident energy (≥500 eV) and high asymmetric detection energy, the binary peaks showed abnormal splits. Such abnormal splits have not been observed in atomic target and outer valence orbitals of ionic target, which indicates that an (e, 2e) process for inner valence orbitals of ionic target would be more complicated than outer valence orbitals. Furthermore, some pronounced peaks appeared at certain ejected angles. We considered that these pronounced peaks are probably related to one kind of double-binary collision. 展开更多

A lead-shielded HPGe detector and offlineγ-ray spectra of the residual product were used to measure the cross section(CS)and ratios of isomeric CS(σm/σg)in134Xe(n,2n)133m,gXe reactions at different energies(13.5 MeV,13.8 MeV,14.1 MeV,14.4 MeV,14.8 MeV)relative to the93Nb(n,2n)92mNb reaction CS.The target was high-purity natural Xe gas under high pressure.The T(d,n)4He reaction produces neutrons.TALYS code(version 1.95)for nuclear reactions was used for calculations,with default parameters and nuclear level density models.The uncertainties in the measured CS data were thoroughly analyzed using the covariance analysis method.The results were compared with theoretical values,evaluation data,and previous experimental findings.CS data of the 134Xe(n,2n)133mXe and 134Xe(n,2n)133gXe reactions and the corresponding isomeric CS ratios at 13.5 MeV,13.8 MeV,and 14.1 MeV neutron energies are reported for the first time.This research advances our knowledge of pre-equilibrium emission in the(n,2n)reaction channel by resolving inconsistencies in the Xe data. 展开更多

OBJECTIVE: To explore a semi-automatic computerized three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of human spinal cord based on histological serial sections, in order to solve issues such as low contrast. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: An experimental study combining serial section techniques and 3D reconstruction, performed in the laboratory of Human Anatomy and Histoembryology at the Medical School of Nantong University during January to April 2008. SETTING: Department of Anatomy, Institute of Neurobiology, Jiangsu Province Key Laboratory of Neural Regeneration, Laboratory of Image Engineering. MATERIALS: A human lumbar spinal cord segment from fresh autopsy material of an adult male. METHODS: After 4% paraformaldehyde fixation for three days, serial sections of the lumbar spinal cord were cut on a Leica cryostat and mounted on slides in sequence, with eight sections aligned separately on each slide. All sections were stained with Luxol Fast Blue to reveal myelin sheaths. After gradient dehydration and clearing, the stained slides were coverslipped. Sections were observed and images recorded under a light microscope using a digital camera. Six images were acquired at x25 magnification and automatically stitched into a complete section image. After all serial images were obtained, 96 complete serial images of the human lumbar cord segment were automatically processed with "Curves", "Autocontrast", "Gray scale 8 bit", "Invert", "Image resize to 50%" steps using Photoshop 7.0 software. All images were added in order into 3D-DOCTOR 4.0 software as a stack, where serial images were automatically realigned with neighboring images and semi-automatically segmented for white matter and gray matter. Finally, simple surface and volume reconstruction were completed on a personal computer. The reconstructed human lumbar spinal cord segment was interactively observed, cut, and measured. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The reconstructed human lumbar spinal cord segment. RESULTS: Compared with serial images obtained from other image modalities, such as CT, MRI, and macrosections from The Visual Human Project database, the Luxol Fast Blue stained histological serial section images exhibited higher resolution and contrast between gray and white matter. Image processing and 3D reconstruction steps were semi-automatically performed with related software. The 3D reconstructed human lumbar cord segment were observed, cut, and measured on a PC. CONCLUSION: A semi-automatically computerized method, based on histological serial sections, is an effective way to 3D-reconstruct the human spinal cord. 展开更多

Measurements were performed of K-shell ionization cross sections of Ti element by 10~30 keV positron impact using the thick-target method. The effects of multiple scattering of incident positron and from bremsstrahlung photons and annihilation photons with the thick-target method are discussed with the Monte Carlo code PENELOPE. Meanwhile, the Monte Carlo method is also applied to determine the detection efficiencies of X- and γ-ray detectors. Our experimental K-shell ionization cross sections for Ti element are compared with the distorted-wave Born approximation (DWBA) theoretical predictions, and it is found that the agreement of the experimental data and theoretical values is good and this indicates that the experimental method adopted in this study is applicable. 展开更多

The total and partial charge-changing cross sections of 28 Si on carbon targets at 736 and 723 A Me V are studied by CR-39 plastic nuclear track detectors using the HSP-1000 microscope system and the PitFit track measurement software. The values of the total charge-changing cross section are σtot=(11794-50) mb and σtot=(11864-42) mb at 736 and 723A MeV, respectively. The result is compared with the ones obtained by other experimental and theoretical results. The odd-even effect of the partial charge-changing cross section is observed. 展开更多

Thin films with thick carbon substrates are used in the experiment. The effects of target structure on the Mαβ X-ray production cross sections are corrected by using the Monte Carlo method. The corrected experimental data are compared with calculated cross sections in terms of the distorted-wave Born approximation(DWBA) theory. The measured Mαβ X-ray production cross sections for Pb and Bi are lower than the DWBA calculations. The atomic relaxation parameters used in comparing the DWBA values with experimental results affect the degree of difference. 展开更多

An interaction potential of the Ne-HC1 van der Waals complex is obtained by utilizing the Huxley analytic potential function to fit the accurate interaction energy data, which have been computed at the coupled cluster singles and doubles including connected triple excitations level and with the augmented correlation consistent polarized valence quintuple zeta basis set extended with a set of 3s3p2dlflg mid-bond functions [CCSD (T)/aug-cc-pV5Z-33211]. The close coupling calculation of state-to-state partial cross sections for collision of Ne with HC1 is first performed by employing the fitted interaction potential. This calculation is performed at the incident energies: 40, 60, 75 and 100 meV, separately. The effects of the long-range attractive and the short-range anisotropic interactions on the inelastic state-to-state partial cross sections are discussed in detail. Two maxima are present in the rotationally inelastic partial cross sections and they originate from different mechanisms. 展开更多

[Result] After the prepared specimens in the treatment group were fixed, it could be macroscopical y observed that retina and choroid were closely connected, with detachment occurring at a smal portion be-tween the two. According to the paraffin sections, it was microscopical y observed that the continuity of trabecular meshwork was intact, as wel as the continuity be-tween different layers of eyebal wal , without detachment between them, no retinal detachment, no shrinkage of each layer of tissue cells.
