Quantum error correction technology is based on the principle of redundant encoding,encoding logical quantum information into multiple physical qubits to provide important support for the stable operation of quantum computers.To address the issues of low decoding accuracy and limited feature extraction in quantum error correction,this paper proposes a toric code decoder based on a syndrome-preliminary error fusion module(SPEFM)and a ResNet architecture.This decoder takes full advantage of the correlations between X and Z errors.In the SPEFM,the syndrome and preliminary error predictions are deeply fused,while a unidirectional Swin transformer architecture is incorporated to extract global error features from the syndrome data,signiffiificantly improving both decoding accuracy and computational efffiificiency.In addition,this paper further extracts local error features from the fused features using the deep residual structure of ResNet,enhancing the decoder's ability to capture quantum error patterns.Experimental results show that the decoder is applicable to different code distances(d=4,6,8,10)under the depolarizing noise model.Its bit error rate is lower than that of the minimum weight perfect matching(MWPM)algorithm,and its logical error rate is lower than both the MWPM algorithm and the ResNet18 decoder.Furthermore,the decoding threshold is increased to 0.163,representing a 3.82%improvement over the MWPM algorithm threshold of 0.157. 展开更多

Lossy image coding is the art of computing that is principally bounded by the image’s rate-distortion function.This bound,though never accurately characterized,has been approached practically via deep learning technologies in recent years.Indeed,learned image coding schemes allow direct optimization of the joint rate-distortion cost,thereby outperforming the handcrafted image coding schemes by a large margin.Still,it is observed that there is room for further improvement in the rate-distortion performance of learned image coding.In this article,we identify the gap between the ideal rate-distortion function forecasted by Shannon’s information theory and the empirical rate-distortion function achieved by the state-of-the-art learned image coding schemes,revealing that the gap is incurred by five different effects:modeling effect,approximation effect,amortization effect,digitization effect,and asymptotic effect.We design simulations and experiments to quantitatively evaluate the last three effects,which demonstrates the high potential of future lossy image coding technologies. 展开更多

Accurate forecasting of tropical cyclone(TC)tracks and intensities is essential.Although the TianXing large weather model,a six-hourly forecasting model surpassing operational forecasts,exhibits superior performance,its TC forecasts still require enhancement.Prediction errors persist due to biases in the training data and smoothing effects in data-driven methods.To address this,we introduce CycloneBCNet,a deep-learning model designed to correct TianXing’s TC forecast biases by leveraging spatial and temporal data.CycloneBCNet utilizes the SimVP(simpler yet better video prediction)framework with spatial attention to highlight cyclone core regions in forecast fields.It also incorporates TC trend information(center position,maximum wind speed,and minimum sea level pressure)via an LSTM(long short-term memory)module.These TC vectors are derived from post-processed TianXing forecasts.By fusing features from forecast fields and TC vectors,CycloneBCNet corrects biases across multiple lead times.At a 96-h lead time,the track error reduces from 162.4 to 86.4 km,the wind speed error from 17.2 to 6.69 m s-1,and the pressure error from 22.2 to 9.36 hPa.Interpretability analysis shows that CycloneBCNet adjusts its attention across forecast lead times.Intensity corrections prioritize inner-core dynamics,particularly the eye and eyewall,while track corrections shift from lower-level variables and the cyclone’s core to broader environmental factors and mid-to upper-level features as the forecast duration increases.These findings demonstrate that CycloneBCNet effectively captures key TC dynamics consistent with meteorological principles,including the dominance of near-surface conditions for intensity and the increasing influence of steering currents on track prediction. 展开更多

In this paper,a stress gradient correction method for full-stage life prediction models is proposed on the basis of the existing studies.Different from the existing methods,the new method does not need the local dimensions of the structure but determines the critical distance according to the stress gradient curve,which avoids the distortion due to the excessive variation of the local dimensions of the structure and improves the applicability.Smooth and notched test specimens were designed to complete the processes of modelling,fitting parameters,and life prediction,which verified the validity and fitting accuracy of the new method.The study incorporated fatigue test specimens containing two distinct notches,which are designed to ensure equivalent stress and strain levels at the notch root through dimensional engineering,to underscore the pivotal role of stress gradient in fatigue life prediction.Furthermore,the novel method was applied to fatigue life prediction of aero-engine compressor disc and validation experiment was completed.The results demonstrate that the stress gradient correction method proposed in this paper exhibits high accuracy in predicting both the life and the damage location,and more accurately reflects the degree of stress concentration at the dangerous location of the actual structure. 展开更多

The attention-based encoder-decoder end-to-end model has achieved promising performance in automatic speech recognition(ASR).However,in practical applications,substitution errors commonly occur in ASR systems,particularly for characters with the same or similar pronunciation.According to statistics,homophones cause at least 50%character errors.Therefore,our study focuses on addressing the issue of substitution errors with the same or similar pronunciation.In this study,we propose a BERT language model with error correction(EC-BERT)for the ASR system.We design a two-stage training schedule involving pre-training with a large amount of pseudo-paired data followed by fine-tuning with a small real-paired data to mitigate the inconsistency of the original pre-trained BERT model with our task.Unlike other error correction models,we do not need an error detection network or mask mechanism but directly use the BERT model to learn and correct the error locations.The experimental results show that our proposed method is effective and achieves a relative reduction of 19.2%in character error rate compared with the connectionist temporal classification(CTC)greedy search result and 12.8%compared with the CTC-WFST result on the AISHELL-1 test set.We also prove that our proposed EC-BERT model can achieve comparable results to other error correction models with a shorter runtime and can easily be integrated into the practical ASR system. 展开更多

In seismic data processing from areas with complex near-surface geometries,residual static correction is a critical factor influencing final imaging quality.This study focuses on two typical types of such complex areas—faulted basins and complex foothill belts—by conducting an in-depth analysis of their geological conditions and seismic data characteristics.Corresponding static correction solutions are proposed.For faulted basins,an iterative processing fl ow of"fi rst-arrival wave tomography static correction+surfaceconsistent residual static correction+high-density velocity analysis"was adopted,which eff ectively resolved time-shift distortions in fault-shadow zones,reducing the root-mean-square error(RMSE)from 15 ms to<3 ms.In the complex foothill belts,a methodology integrating"multi-information constrained tomography static correction+Monte Carlo global optimization+anisotropic velocity analysis"was implemented,signifi cantly suppressing the cycle-skipping phenomenon in steep topographic gradient zones and improving the signalto-noise ratio(SNR)by 40%.Practical applications demonstrate that these two targeted approaches can substantially enhance the seismic imaging quality in complex near-surface regions,thereby providing reliable data for hydrocarbon exploration. 展开更多

Complex distillation processes can often be effectively optimized using meta‑heuristic algorithms.However,during optimization procedure,a large number of infeasible solutions are generated,hindering efficient exploration of feasible,high‑performance regions of the search space.In this study,we propose a data‑driven identification and adaptive directed correction strategy for handling infeasible solutions,and on this basis,develop an efficient multi‑objective optimization framework(MO‑DIDC)for complex distillation processes.By identifying infeasible solutions that closely resemble high‑performance ones,the framework leverages them to accelerate convergence to optimal designs.A surrogate model is trained to distinguish high‑and low‑performance solutions and is then used to identify potentially high‑performance candidates within the infeasible set.Through similarity analysis,the most influential variable is selected for correction to generate new promising solutions.This strategy reduces unnecessary exploration of infeasible regions and concentrates computational effort on feasible,high‑quality solutions.Demonstrated on a side‑stream double‑column extractive distillation system and a four‑column extractive distillation system,the proposed optimization framework outperforms a widely used genetic algorithm while substantially improving computational efficiency,achieving optimization time reductions of 35.3%and 20.8%,respectively.Overall,the proposed MO‑DIDC framework provides an effective and computationally efficient tool for the optimization of complex distillation processes. 展开更多

The source area of the Yellow River(SAYR)is a critically important cryospheric region highly sensitive to climate warming.However,capturing fine-scale thawing–freezing dynamics remains challenging due to the region's rugged topography and sparse observational networks.In this study,we developed a 1-km,40-year(1981–2020)dataset of surface temperatures and thawing–freezing indices by applying month-specific topographic corrections to ERA5-Land reanalysis data.Validation against independent station observations yielded a root mean square error(RMSE)of 1.49℃,and uncertainty assessments demonstrate that the monthly-derived indices capture interannual trends with high consistency(R2>0.97).Over the past four decades,regional freezing indices have significantly decreased,while thawing indices have increased,resulting in an extension of the average thawing duration by 1.17 days per decade.Furthermore,a regime shift detected in 2005 prolonged the annual thawing duration by 14.8 days,extending the unfrozen soil period and potentially enhancing moisture infiltration into the subsurface.Spatially,this thawing intensification is most pronounced in the southeastern valleys,whereas changes in the thermal regime over the northwestern and central highlands indicate intensified ground warming,which is likely associated with permafrost degradation and active-layer deepening.Overall,this high-resolution dataset offers an improved representation of surface thermal processes compared to traditional air-temperature-based proxies,providing valuable support for climate adaptation and infrastructure planning in this critical headwater region. 展开更多

With the rise of the internet of things demanding low latency,the significance of real-time transmission communications is being increasingly emphasized.In real-time transmission systems,there are two ways to do the transmission:without and with channel coding,and therefore,it is worth comparing the performance of these ways.In this paper,the distortions of these two systems are derived.Specifically,a general formula for calculating distortion in wireless communication systems is first provided.Next,variations of the formula are developed for three standard wireless communication systems:single-input,single-output(SISO);multiple-input,multiple-output(MIMO)with a Gaussian channel;and mmWave MIMO.Theoretical derivations,supported by simulation results,demonstrate that systems without channel coding exhibit less distortion than those with channel coding on average. 展开更多

Meteor burst channels(MBC)exhibit significant randomness and non-stationarity,limiting the effectiveness of traditional fixed-rate transmission strategies.This paper proposes an adaptive coding and modulation(ACM)scheme based on real-time channel state perception using enhanced Turbo codes.By leveraging the interleaving structure of Turbo codes to mitigate channel fading and incorporating multi-rate adaptation,the scheme dynamically adjusts symbol rate,modulation,and coding methods to improve spectral efficiency.Meanwhile,a joint evaluation mechanism integrating physical-layer signal to noise ratio(SNR)estimation and media access control(MAC)-layer frame error rate(FER)statistics is introduced to achieve dynamic optimization of switching thresholds in multipath channels.Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme significantly enhances system adaptability to MBC,and increases data transmission success rates,offering a more efficient and reliable solution for MBC systems. 展开更多

Objective:The stress experienced by female Persons Deprived of Liberty(PDLs)in correctional facilities is a significant yet underexplored issue.This study aims to explore the stressors and coping mechanisms of female PDLs using Callista Roy’s Adaptation Model(RAM)to understand their adaptive processes within a prison environment.Methods:A qualitative design was employed using purposive sampling.Ten female PDLs from a Bureau of Jail Management and Penology(BJMP)facility in Nueva Vizcaya,Philippines were interviewed using 3 guided questions to explore their stress experiences and coping strategies.Thematic analysis was applied to identify key themes from the collected data.Results:The study identified interpersonal conflicts,family separation,legal delays,and challenging prison environments as primary sources of stress.To manage these stressors,the participants employed various coping strategies,including emotional introspection,engagement in physical activities,participation in religious practices,and seeking support from peers and family members.These strategies reflect adaptive responses within the framework of RAM.Conclusions:The findings highlight the need for comprehensive interventions that promote the mental well-being of female PDLs.Recommendations include implementing conflict resolution programs,facilitating family communication,organizing physical and group activities,and providing mental health services.The study highlights the importance of adopting a holistic approach to inmate care,recognizing the complex nature of stress and adaptation.These insights can guide correctional institutions and healthcare professionals in developing targeted interventions to improve the well-being and rehabilitation outcomes of female PDLs,thereby enhancing their reintegration into society. 展开更多
