Transition metal oxyhydroxides are crucial for the electrochemical oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF),though the co-adsorption and activation mechanisms of HMF and hydroxyl species require further clarification. This study designs cerium-doped Co-based layered double hydroxide(LDH)arrays, including 3%Ce-Co3Fe1-xAlx-LDH/NF,to investigate Fe as a secondary active center and the role of Ce–O–TM(Transition metal)bridges in regulating HMF/OH-adsorption.Theoretical calculations indicate that Ce–O–TM bridges induce f–p–d gradient orbital coupling, optimizing HMF/OH-adsorption configurations and facilitating the HMF oxidation reaction(HMFOR).Synchrotron radiation characterization and in situ Raman spectroscopy reveal that Fe enhances electronic interaction between Ce and Co/Fe sites, strengthening the stability of M-O bonds, suppressing metal dissolution, and further optimizing reactant adsorption.Fe doping also modulates charge distribution and accelerates charge transfer. The optimized3%Ce-Co3Fe1-LDH/NF delivers industrial current density(0.1 A cm-2)at 1.44 VRHE,with 98.1%HMF conversion,99.6%FDCA yield, and 99.8%Faradaic efficiency. In an anion exchange membrane(AEM)electrolyzer,it achieves 0.5 A cm-2at 2.1 V while maintaining high stability across 0.1–0.5 A cm-2.These results provide an effective strategy for designing high-performance HMFOR catalysts through electronic structure modulation. 展开更多

Multi-domain competition is developing for disintegrating the component of the opponent’s operational system and winning advantage in decision space.Island air defense is a typical multi-domain security problem, which dramatically increases the complexity of decision-making by considering different factors such as multi-stages decisions,multi-domain settings, imperfection information, and uncertain events. However, current research on island air defense security problems is sparse and lacks consideration of key factors. To provide support for assisting human commanders to take wise decisions in a complex environment,we build a multi-domain multi-state island air defense model and propose responding solving algorithms. We study the whole progress of island air defense and propose a multi-domain,multi-stage imperfection information security game that formulates critical characters in the adversarial scenario of island air defense. In addition, considering a bounded rational opponent’s possible strategies,we propose an opponent-aware Monte Carlo counterfactual regret minimization algorithm for learning a robust defensive strategy in the security game.We evaluate our methods in various adversarial scenarios. The results show that our equilibrium learning method can effectively play against an opponent with bounded rationality and significantly outperform some advanced algorithms. 展开更多

The convergence rate is one of the key performance measures for Nash equilibrium(NE)seeking strategies. In this work,we present several novel fast decoupled/coupled time-varying neurodynamic optimization approaches with fixed-time(FT)convergence to Nash equilibrium seeking in non-cooperative games. The dynamics trajectories are demonstrated to converge to the NE solution within a fixed time from any initial states. The proposed neurodynamic networks exhibit a faster convergence rate with appropriately selected time-varying coefficients.Additionally, the upper bounds of the convergence time of the proposed NE seeking networks are smaller than those for strategies with constant coefficients. The robustness of the proposed NE seeking neurodynamic approaches under bounded perturbations is further studied. The efficacy and practicality of the proposed NE seeking approaches are validated through simulations and field-programmable gate array(FPGA)experiments on duopoly market games. 展开更多

Analytically connecting equilibrium criticality and dynamical quantum phase transitions(DQPTs)under complex driving fields remains a significant challenge, primarily due to the combinatorial complexity of non-local long-range entanglement. Here,we decode this connection in the 2D strongly interacting Wen-plaquette model.By mapping its anyonic excitations to 1D effective dissipative channels,we reveal that microscopic single-particle fidelity zeros exactly reconstruct the macroscopic equilibrium topological phase boundaries.Beyond equilibrium,we demonstrate that during non-unitary quench dynamics, these very same static singularities enforce a momentumspace exclusion against dynamical Fisher zeros.Furthermore,a newly identified dissipation-phase racing mechanism prematurely depletes the decaying mode, suppressing DQPTs and generating topologically trivial steady states. Our results establish exact microscopic static singularities as an analytical decoder for macroscopic non-unitary topological dynamics involving discrete symmetry breaking. 展开更多

Dimethylphenols serve as important intermediates in synthesizing pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, yet traditional distillation struggles to separate their isomers due to minimal boiling point differences, and the development of melt crystallization is hampered by lacking solid–liquid equilibrium (SLE) data for some isomers. Therefore, the SLE data of both binary and ternary mixtures of 2,3-dimethylphenol (2,3-DMP),3,5-dimethylphenol (3,5-DMP),and 3,4-dimethylphenol (3,4-DMP) were determined by using differential scanning calorimetry in this work.Additionally, crystallographic analysis was conducted to investigate the thermodynamic characteristics of these mixtures. The experimental results indicated that all the systems investigated in this research exhibited eutectic behavior. The experimentally obtained SLE data were well correlated with the Wilson and non-random two-liquid models. The excess thermodynamic functions were calculated to analyze the types and intensities of the molecular interactions occurring in the mixtures.Furthermore, this study developed a model for the correlation between the theoretical crystallization yield and the actual cooling yield and final yield in melt crystallization. This study has furnished reliable data essential for developing and optimizing the melt crystallization process of mixtures of 2,3-DMP,3,5-DMP,and 3,4-DMP. 展开更多

Separation of 2-methylfuran(2-MF)and methanol(MeOH)azeotropes is a key challenge in biofuel production because of the efficiency and sustainability issues of conventional methods. In this study, ionic liquids(ILs)were introduced as green solvents for separation of 2-MF/MeOH through liquid–liquid equilibrium(LLE)experiment.Three ILs,namely 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazole dihydrogen phosphate([EMIM][H2PO4]),1-propyl-3-methylimidazole dihydrogen phosphate([PMIM][H2PO4])and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazole dihydrogen phosphate([BMIM][H2PO4]),were screened out from 425 candidates using the conductor-like screening model for real solvents(COSMO-RS).Then,the ternary LLE data of 2-MF(1)+MeOH(2)+ILs(3)were determined at 30℃ and 101.32 kPa.Results confirmed[EMIM][H2PO4]as the best performer, achieving a selectivity of 343.86 and a distribution coefficient of 36.66 for MeOH—significantly higher than[PMIM][H2PO4]and[BMIM][H2PO4].The accuracy of the LLE data was verified by Othmer–Tobias and Hand equations(R2>0.90).The non-random two liquid model was used to correlate the experimental data(RMSD<2%).Besides,the combination of electrostatic surfaces potential, independent gradient model based on Hirshfeld partition, mean square displacement and radial distribution functions revealed strong electrostatic interactions between[H2PO4] and MeOH.Interaction energy analysis further emphasizes the mechanism of MeOH separation from a mixture of 2-MF and MeOH by ILs.This work provides a multiscale strategy for the separation of 2-MF and MeOH azeotropes, highlighting the potential of ILs to improve biofuel purification while reducing energy and environmental costs. 展开更多

This paper investigates a distributed generalized Nash equilibrium-seeking problem in stochastic dynamical systems, focusing on two key challenges:1)nonlinear coupled constraints and nonlinear dynamics, and 2)nonconvex objectives influenced by disturbances with unknown time-varying distributions. To address these challenges,a distributionally robust game framework with an exact penalty is proposed. We introduce a first-order equilibrium concept suitable for nonconvex-nonsmooth settings and ensure finite-sample guarantees.Furthermore,a distributed zeroth-order feedback algorithm is proposed to solve the problem. This algorithm utilizes gradient estimators for the objective functions and subgradient estimators for the exact penalty terms. We provide a detailed analysis of the relationship between communication errors and the dynamic energy of the system, along with an expected upper bound for the zeroth-order gradient estimation. Our findings indicate that the expectation of the time-accumulated regret grows at a sublinear rate.Furthermore,as the distribution stabilizes,we show that the empirical distribution converges with O(1)sampling complexity. 展开更多

The equilibrium dynamics and nonlinear rheology of unentangled polymer blends remain inadequately understood, especially regarding the influence of short-chain matrix length NS on the structure and rheological behavior of dispersed long chains.Using molecular dynamics simulations based on the Kremer-Grest model,we systematically explore the NS-dependence of static conformations, equilibrium dynamics, and nonlinear shear responses in unentangled long-chain/short-chain polymer blends. Our results demonstrate a decoupling between the static and dynamic sensitivity to NS:while the static chain size,R_g,follows Flory theory with slight swelling at small NS due to incomplete excluded volume screening, the diffusion coefficient,D,and the relaxation time,τ0,exhibit a strong,non-monotonic NS-dependence,transitioning from monomeric friction dominance at small NS to collective segmental rearrangement at large NS.Additionally,we observe partial decoupling between the viscous and normal stress responses:while the zero-shear viscosity,η,is strongly NS-dependent,the first and second normal stress coefficients,Ψ1 and Ψ2,collapse onto universal curves when scaled by the dimensionless shear rate,γτ0,suggesting a common mechanism of orientation and stretching.Under shear, long chains compress in the vorticity direction λz~Wi-0.2,which reduces collision frequency and contributes to shear thinning, while the scaling of weaker orientation resistance mG~Wi0.35reflects hydrodynamic screening by the short-chain matrix. These findings highlight the limitations of single-chain models and emphasize the necessity of considering NS-dependent matrix dynamics and flow-induced structural changes in understanding the rheology of unentangled polymer blends. 展开更多

The modified molecular interaction volume model(M-MIVM)was used to calculate the activity values and their deviations from experimental data for Ag-Cu and Ag-Sb binary alloys.Subsequently, theoretical vapor-liquid equilibrium phase diagrams(T-x-y and p-x-y)were plotted via combining M-MIVM and vacuum theory. The vapor-liquid phase equilibrium(VLE)experiments were conducted on the Ag-Cu alloy at 1500-1560 K and 10-15 Pa and Ag-Sb alloys at 950-1350 K and 10 Pa.The results showed that the average relative deviation and average standard deviation of activity were lower than 5%and 0.02,respectively.A comparison of theoretical and experiment results for VLE revealed that the simulated data on the T-x-y diagram were well consistent with experimental values. Therefore, the VLE phase diagrams can serve as a guide in vacuum separation experiments and industrial production for Ag-Cu and Ag-Sb binary alloys. 展开更多

The heterogeneous geological conditions of mixed ground in the Hualong Cross-River Passage Project in Guangdong Province,China, pose significant challenges to tunnel face stability during shield tunneling operations, leading to complex failure mechanisms that require systematic investigation.Currently, there is a lack of clear criteria for defining and distinguishing between US-LH(upper soft-lower hard)and UH-LS(upper hard-lower soft)strata, and the influence of these two types of strata on the failure mechanisms of the tunnel face remains unclear. This study quantitatively characterizes soft-over-hard ground distributions through the dimensionless strength ratio Q(qu/ql),where qu and ql represent the unconfined compressive strength of upper and lower strata respectively. The failure mechanism and limit support pressure of the tunnel face under varying strength ration Q were determined through numerical simulations. Two models were established based on the Q,namely the US-LH model(01).Comparative and parametric analyses were conducted to evaluate the rationality of the proposed model.Key findings reveal:(1)Differential failure zone evolution patterns, with US-LH conditions demonstrating progressive geometrical transformation from initial right-triangular to final trapezoidal configurations, while UH-LS ground maintain persistent right-triangular failure morphology;(2)Normalized pressureσp/γD displays consistent Q-dependent behavior across methodologies, characterized by three distinct phases:stability plateau(0<Q≤1/4),critical peak at Q=1,and subsequent decay to a constant level(Q≥4),with UH-LS ground requiring lower support pressures for maintaining tunnel face stability than US-LH counterparts;(3)Limit equilibrium analysis identifies 45°+φ/2 as the critical failure angle inducing maximum limit support pressure;(4)Parametric sensitivity analysis demonstrates Nc shows inverse proportionality with limit support pressure, while Nγand Nv exhibit strong positive correlations.A key contribution of this study lies in the introduction of an unconfined compressive strength ratio, enabling the prediction of the limit support pressure of the tunnel face under various conditions of soft-hard strata. This provides a theoretical basis for setting chamber pressure in practical engineering applications. 展开更多

This paper is devoted to the study of KKT-type optimality via the generalized subdifferentials of a nonsmooth vector equilibrium problem with set, inequality and equality constraints(CVEP, for brevity) and its applications. First, we provide the notion of the generalized subdifferentials associated to the contingent epiderivatives(also called the Aubin-Frankowska's generalized subdifferentials) and the Clarke's generalized subgradients. Additionally, we provide some regularity conditions(RC1) and(RC3-s) for any index s ∈ I = {1, ..., p}. Some KKT-type necessary optimality conditions for the efficient solution types of problem CVEP under some suitable regularity conditions are derived. Besides, some strong KKT-type necessary optimality conditions become sufficient optimality conditions under some suitable assumptions on the pseudoconvexity, quasiconvexity and quasilinearly of objective and constraint functions. Finally, an application of such result to the vector optimization problem with constraints(CVOP) and the vector variational inequality problem with constraints(CVVI) is presented. Some illustrative examples are also provided for our findings. 展开更多

It was aimed to evaluate a variety of conventional and emerging CO2-selective adsorbents, considering their use in a five-step VSA(Vacuum Swing Adsorption)system for flue gas capture. In most works, porous materials synthesised for CO2capture were assessed by simply comparing their gas adsorption capacities measured at fixed pressures, without considering how they would perform in cyclic adsorption processes.Meanwhile it would be so laborious to conduct full numerical simulations of adsorption processes for evaluating and screening a number of adsorbents. In this study, zeolites, carbons and MOFs synthesised for CO2capture were assessed and ranked with respect to the CO2product recovery and the bed productivity of a five-step VSA,with an Equilibrium Theory model developed for the adsorption process. The simplified VSA model can provide the results so quickly, requiring only the adsorbent’s pure component adsorption isotherms in solving it.According to the simplified model, the CO2recovery hinges upon the process operating conditions,i.e.adsorption-to-desorption pressure ratio and feed composition as well as equilibrium adsorption isotherms,i.e.the shape of CO2isotherm and adsorbent’s selectivity of CO2over N2.The bed productivity is influenced greatly by adsorbent’s CO2adsorption capacity, also affected by the VSA’s CO2recovery and adsorbent’s CO2selectivity. 展开更多

Objective and fair scholar evaluation promotes academic engagement and ensures proper allocation of research resources. However, current evaluation methods face challenges such as insufficient consideration of disciplinary differences,over-reliance on publication output, neglect of low-cited papers, and limited discriminative power. This paper proposes an improved evaluation metric—the Academic Equilibrium Value index(AEV-index)—based on academic equilibrium value.By incorporating weights for publication and citation tiers and integrating average publication and citation levels within disciplines, the AEV-index aims to offer a more comprehensive and equitable assessment of scholarly performance.Using Scopus data from computer science conference papers(2012-2021)across the subfields of"Network and Information Security","Computer Graphics and Multimedia",and"Artificial Intelligence",we weighted publications and citations to evaluate researchers'academic levels. The research findings indicate that:(i)The AEV-index enhances existing scholar evaluation metrics from multiple perspectives, providing a relatively reasonable and broadly applicable comprehensive evaluation index.(ii)The AEV-index is significantly correlated with traditional scholar evaluation indicators such as total publications, total citations, and the hindex, while also moderating disciplinary differences, thereby facilitating cross-disciplinary comparisons of academic influence.(iii)Additionally, the AEV-index mitigates the negative impact of low publication output, recognizes the value of low-cited but high-quality papers, and offers improved discriminative power, thereby addressing several limitations of existing evaluation metrics. 展开更多

Dear Editor,This letter presents a solution to the problem of seeking Nash equilibrium(NE)in a class of non-cooperative games of multi-agent systems(MASs)subject to the input disturbance and the networked communication. To this end,a novel distributed robust predefined-time algorithm is proposed, which ensures the precise convergence of agent states to the NE within a settling time that can be directly determined by adjusting one or more parameters. The proposed algorithm employs an integral sliding mode strategy to effectively reject disturbances.Additionally,a consensus-based estimator is designed to overcome the challenge of limited information availability, where each agent can only access information from its directly connected neighbors, which conflicts with the computation of the cost function that requires information from all agents. Finally,a numerical example is provided to demonstrate the algorithm's effectiveness and performance. 展开更多

Loess-mudstone landslides are common in the Loess Plateau.Investigations into the mechanical theory of loess-mudstone landslides have become a challenging undertaking due to the distinctive interfacial properties of loess-mudstone and the unique water sensitivity characteristics of mudstone.Hence,it is imperative to develop innovative mechanical models and mathematical equations specifically tailored to loess-mudstone landslides. In this study,we analyze the fracture mechanism of the loess-mudstone sliding zone using plastic fracture mechanics and develop a unique fracture yield model. To calculate the energy release rate during the expansion of the loess-mudstone interface tip region, the shear fracture energy G is applied, which reflects both the yield failure criterion and the fracture failure criterion. To better understand the instability mechanism of loess-mudstone landslides, equilibrium equations based on G are established for tractive, compressive, and tensile loess-mudstone landslides.Based on the equilibrium equation, the critical length Lc of the sliding zone can be used for the safety evaluation of loess-mudstone landslides. In this way, this study proposes a new method for determining the failure mechanism and equilibrium equation of loessmudstone landslides, which resolves their starting mechanism, mechanical equilibrium equations, and safety evaluation indicators, thus justifying the scientific significance and practical value of this research. 展开更多

This paper designs distributed Nash equilibrium seeking strategies for heterogeneous dynamic cyber-physical systems. In particular, we are concerned with parametric uncertainties in the control channel of the players. Moreover, the weights on communication links can be compromised by time-varying uncertainties, which can result from possibly malicious attacks, faults and disturbances. To deal with the unavailability of measurement of optimization errors, an output observer is constructed, based on which adaptive laws are designed to compensate for physical uncertainties. With adaptive laws, a new distributed Nash equilibrium seeking strategy is designed by further integrating consensus protocols and gradient search algorithms. Moreover, to further accommodate compromised communication weights resulting from cyber-uncertainties, the coupling strengths of the consensus module are designed to be adaptive. As a byproduct, the coupling strengths are independent of any global information. With theoretical investigations, it is proven that the proposed strategies are resilient to these uncertainties and players' actions are convergent to the Nash equilibrium. Simulation examples are given to numerically validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategies. 展开更多

Fractional discrete systems can enable the modeling and control of the complicated processes more adaptable through the concept of versatility by providing systemdynamics’descriptions withmore degrees of freedom.Numerical approaches have become necessary and sufficient to be addressed and employed for benefiting from the adaptability of such systems for varied applications.A variety of fractional Layla and Majnun model(LMM)system kinds has been proposed in the current work where some of these systems’key behaviors are addressed. In addition, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the stability and asymptotic stability of the fractional dynamic systems are investigated,as a result of which, the necessary requirements of the LMM to achieve constant and asymptotically steady zero resolutions are provided. As a special case, when Layla and Majnun have equal feelings,we propose an analysis of the system in view of its equilibrium and fixed point sets.Considering that the system has marginal stability if its eigenvalues have both negative and zero real portions,it is demonstrated that the system neither converges nor diverges to a steady trajectory or equilibrium point. It,rather, continues to hover along the line separating stability and instability based on the fractional LMM system. 展开更多
