Platycladus orientalis(L.)Franco seed orchards play an important role in sustainable forestry in China but balancing genetic gain and genetic diversity remains a significant challenge.Two key factors influence the success of seed orchards:parental breeding value and gamete contribution,as they determine both the genetic gain and diversity of the seed crops produced.This study aimed to optimize breeding strategies by analyzing parental breeding value,gamete contribution,and genetic gain across two growth periods(89 families in 2008 and 52 families in 2021).We evaluated height,diameter at breast height,and stem volume of progeny in a primary seed orchard,uncovering significant genetic variation among families.Interestingly,no correlation was found between growth traits and gamete contribution,indicating their independence.Using comprehensive scoring and PCA-biplot analysis,we consistently identified several elite families with superior growth performance in both years.We propose an optimal breeding strategy that combines 30%selective harvesting and 50%selective thinning to effectively balance genetic gain and genetic diversity,addressing a critical goal in tree improvement programs.The selected families and optimized strategy provide a scalable framework not only for P.orientalis but also for other conifer species globally,enhancing both productivity and genetic diversity in afforestation efforts. 展开更多

In this paper,the bounded control gain based prescribed-time(Pre-T)consensus problem for general linear multiagent systems(MASs)with controllable agent dynamics is addressed.First,an observer with Pre-T performance is designed for each agent to estimate the leader's state within a prescribed time.Then,based on the estimated states,a Pre-T switching controller integrating a bounded control gain is developed by employing a special coordinate transformation in combination with the backstepping technique,under the assumption that the agents'system matrix pair is controllable.It is shown that the proposed controller enables general linear MASs to achieve the Pre-T consensus independently of the agents'initial conditions and control parameters.Notably,the controller eliminates the numerical implementation problem associated with unbounded control gains,without compromising the consensus performance.The proposed approach is further applied to high-order singleinput MASs to demonstrate its broader applicability.Finally,a simulation example validates the effectiveness of both the proposed observer and the Pre-T switching controller. 展开更多

Chiral metasurfaces with tailorable chiroptical responses are of great interest for applications in many fields.However,most previous studies on non-Hermitian chiral metasurfaces have focused on the realization of exceptional points,where the strong circular dichroism(CD)is often accompanied by low transmission.Here,we propose a gain-assisted non-Hermitian approach to achieve near-perfect optical chirality in a Born-Kuhn-type plasmonic metasurface.The structure consists of bilayer,orthogonally oriented silver nanorods integrated with an optical gain medium.Guided by a coupled-oscillator model,we show that the interplay between geometrical chirality and gain-induced non-Hermitian coupling enables precise control of the interlayer interaction and modal hybridization.As a result,a CD value as high as 0.999 is obtained at 1550 nm,while a high transmission of 0.988 for the selected circular polarization is maintained.Furthermore,leveraging the plasmon-enhanced local fields,a pronounced handedness-selective third-harmonic generation response is theoretically demonstrated.This work provides a strategy for high-efficiency chiral photonic devices and opens opportunities for potential applications in chiral molecular detection,ultrasensitive sensing,chiral logic,superchiral fields,and chiral nonlinear optics. 展开更多

Co-optimization of linear gain and dynamic range for atomic superheterodyne receivers based on homodyne readout 认领 引用

Rydberg-atom-based superheterodyne receivers integrate self-calibration,high sensitivity,a wide operational frequency range,and phase/frequency resolved detection capabilities,demonstrating broad application prospects as nextgeneration microwave receivers.Linear gain and linear dynamic range(LDR)are critical metrics for assessing receiver sensitivity and demodulation fidelity,respectively.We numerically solve the four-level master equation and then employ particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm to co-optimize linear gain and LDR in atomic superheterodyne receivers based on balanced homodyne detection.Further,we systematically account for dominant dephasing mechanisms in the simulation,encompassing spontaneous decay,transit dephasing,collision dephasing,laser linewidth dephasing,and Doppler averaging.Homodyne readout utilizes both the real and imaginary parts of polarizability for sensing.In the case of the photon shot noise limit,its signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)expression resembles that of direct optical-intensity readout.However,the inherent coherent subtraction operation in homodyne detection significantly suppresses common-mode noise,while appropriately increasing the reference beam power enhances the gain in practical experiments.Indeed,this co-optimization problem,characterized by a high-dimensional variable space,two objectives,and non-convexity,is well-suited for solution by PSO.In addition,probe and coupling detuning contribute equivalently to polarizability and compensate for each other owing to Doppler averaging,thereby reducing the optimization variable space by one.By adopting a product form of linear gain and LDR as the fitness function,the PSO achieves rapid convergence.Here,the effectiveness of the PSO results is verified via the total harmonic distortion(THD).The relative error-based LDR calculation method we proposed efficiently measures receiver response linearity with consuming fewer computational resources.This research is expected to offer valuable insights into enhancing the performance of Rydberg-atom-based superheterodyne receivers. 展开更多

Integrated sensing and communication(ISAC)is an appealing approach to address spectrum congestion and beamforming is an effective method to realize ISAC.In this paper,we investigate the beamforming design problem for multiple-input multipleoutput(MIMO)ISAC systems and propose to maximize the radar beampattern gain of the target direction while ensuring the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio(SINR)constraints of communication users.Particularly,we discuss two cases of ISAC transmit beamforming,i.e.,Case-Ⅰand Case-Ⅱ,which do not have and do have the dedicated probing signal,respectively.For these two cases of transmit beamforming design problems,we start from the single-user scenario and provide the closed-form solutions for MIMO ISAC beamforming vectors.Then,we consider the multiuser scenario and utilize the semidefinite relaxation technique to convert the beamforming design problems into convex semidefinite programming problems.Furthermore,we investigate the impact of the channel correlation between radar and communication on the performance gain of MIMO ISAC systems and characterize the performance tradeoff.Numerical results validate that the dedicated probing signal is unnecessary in the single-user scenario,whereas it has a slight improvement in target detection performance at low SINR thresholds in the multi-user scenario.It is also shown that the stronger the correlation between radar and communication channels,the greater the performance gain of the system. 展开更多

This paper proposes a gain-based neural secure protection(GBNSP)control scheme for feedforward nonlinear systems subject to unknown control coefficients and impulsive false data injection(FDI)attacks.Notably,the nonlinear functions of the systems are relaxed to any continuous functions and the control coefficients are permitted to be constants with both unknown sizes and signs,a scenario not covered in existing works.Furthermore,the uncertain abrupt changes in system states caused by impulsive FDI attacks inevitably exacerbate the challenges in control design.To this end,this paper integrates the neural network technique and the gain control method to propose a novel GBNSP control scheme.Specifically,the neural network technique effectively compensates for strong nonlinearities and uncertainties,while the gain control method quantifies the tolerable frequency of impulsive FDI attacks and avoids the tedious design procedures.It is shown that,under the designed GBNSP controller,all closed-loop signals remain bounded and the system states eventually converge to an adjustable neighborhood near the origin.Moreover,an enhanced GBNSP control scheme incorporates an improved gain scaling mechanism to withstand unknown external disturbances.In the end,the effectiveness and practicality of the proposed scheme are validated by a theoretical example and a practical example. 展开更多

The absence of an efficient light source compatible with silicon complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor technology remains a pivotal bottleneck in integrated photonics.Recently,the hexagonal diamond phase of germanium(2H-Ge)has emerged as a promising alternative in light of the direct nature of its bandgap,yet its light emission efficiency falls behind that ofⅢ–Ⅴsemiconductors.Here,by performing theoretical calculations using an atomistic semi-empirical pseudopotential method,we systematically investigate the electronic structure and interband optical gain of[0001]-oriented 2HGe nanowires(NWs).We show that quantum confinement in pure 2H-Ge NWs enables diameter-tunable bandgaps across the infrared spectrum,but retains a pseudodirect character with weak near-band-edge optical transitions at the Brillouin zone center.Interestingly,we demonstrate that a moderate uniaxial tensile strain can induce a conduction band inversion,which dramatically enhances the optical gain by over two orders of magnitude and switches the dominant polarization of the emission.We illustrate such an enhancement by correlating the gain characteristics with the energy ordering of the active conduction band states.Our results thus provide essential theoretical guidance and optimization strategies to realize high-performance,polarized light emitters based on 2H-Ge NWs for integrated photonic applications. 展开更多

In this paper,the semi-global leader-following consensus issue of multi-agent systems with constrained input under fixed and switching topologies is investigated via a distributed gain scheduling dynamic event-triggered method.First,a novel distributed gain scheduling consensus protocol is proposed under fixed topology,which integrates time-varying gain and distributed parameter schedulers.This approach enhances the transient performance of consensus tracking by enlarging the gain parameter through the scheduler,while the reliance of the scheduler on global state information is eliminated via a distributed design method.Subsequently,a distributed dynamic event-triggered mechanism is introduced to reduce the controller updates,while the expression of the inter-event times mitigates its explicit reliance on the system matrix.Additionally,to eliminate the need for real-time monitoring of neighboring agents'states and continuous communication,a distributed dynamic self-triggered mechanism is developed.Next,our approaches are extended to solve the semi-global leader-following consensus problem under switching topologies.The average dwell time technique is employed to alleviate the limitations on the switching rate among multiple topologies.Finally,the theoretical analysis is validated through simulation results. 展开更多

This work presents a multi-objective optimization framework for systematic design-space exploration of a 28 GHz single-stage cascode LNA(Low noise amplifier)in 22 nm FDSOI technology using NSGA-Ⅱ and MOPSO algorithms.The objectives of the paper include simultaneous minimization of noise figure(NF)and power consumption while maximizing gain under matching and stability constraints.Using device parameters and circuit models that were developed for a 22 nm FDSOI process technology,an optimization framework was created in Python,with the passive components LG,LS,LD,LOUT,and COUT chosen to be the variables optimized.The NSGA-Ⅱ optimized design achieves 1.7 dB NF,17 dB gain,and 4.7 mW DC power,while MOPSO achieves 1.8 dB NF,17.1 dB gain,and 5.0 mW power.NSGA-Ⅱ provides improved Pareto diversity and slightly better output matching,whereas MOPSO reduces computational time by 24%with comparable RF performance.The results demonstrate effective multi-objective design-space exploration and controlled algorithm benchmarking at the schematic-level for mm-wave LNA design. 展开更多

Functional units are ubiquitous,but their existence in laser gain materials remains unverified.We investigated the impact of local coordination structures of active ions on the spectral parameters of neodymium-doped laser crystals using machine learning.The results indicate that increasing the size of the local coordination structure does not significantly alter the prediction accuracy,which provides the first evidence that the first coordination shell of active ions constitutes the dominant functional unit governing the photoluminescence parameters.This finding enables a modular design paradigm,in which laser materials can be designed and optimized through targeted manipulation of specific functional units.It not only facilitates the simplification of the design and optimization of laser materials but also provides new insights and directions for further exploration of functional units in laser materials. 展开更多

Objective:Glioblastoma(GBM)is the most common primary malignant brain tumor and is characterized by significant intratumoral heterogeneity.This study aimed to investigate the clinical and genomic landscapes of GBM across diverse ethnic populations to identify potential prognostic markers.Methods:Leveraging The Cancer Imaging Archive(TCIA)and bioinformatics modeling,White,African,and Asian American cohorts were analyzed.Patients were stratified according to the 2021 WHO classification of central nervous system(CNS)tumors.Population-specific genomic drivers and phenotypic markers were evaluated for their impact on outcomes.Survival rates across age,sex,and ethnicity were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method and Cox proportional hazards models.Results:Incidence was highest among White American males aged 50–60(n=105,34%)compared with females in the same age group(n=48,24%).Asian Americans exhibited a lower incidence rate(0.46-fold)compared to White individuals.In the adjusted model,Asian American ethnicity showed a trend toward a different survival outcome(HR 0.464;95%CI 0.206–1.047;p=0.064).The co-occurrence of chromosome 7 gains and chromosome 10 losses(+7/−10)was associated with significantly lower survival rates compared to those without combined alterations(HR 0.798;95%CI 0.647–0.984;p=0.035).Conclusions:Epidemiological evidence-based medicine shows that the chromosome+7/−10 genotype predicts poor survival,particularly in high-risk White(Caucasian)males.Its lower prevalence in African and Asian American cohorts suggests the presence of distinct ancestry-specific oncogenic drivers.Integrating ethnic stratification into clinical frameworks is essential for improving biomarker-informed diagnostics and ensuring equity in personalized GBM treatment strategies based on ancestry-informative genetic markers. 展开更多

After training the connection weights of two-stage NNs separately in training phase, the connection weights of the unified NN are updated again in verification phase according to error between the predicted and target gains to eliminate the inherent error of the NNs. The simulation results show that the mean of root mean square error(RMSE) and maximum error of gains are 0.131 d B and 0.281 d B, respectively. It shows that the method can realize adaptive adjustment function of FRA gain with high accuracy. 展开更多

To address the significant degradation of Space-Time Adaptive Processing(STAP)performance when the array elements have mutual coupling and gain/phase errors,a STAP algorithm with adaptive calibration for the above two array errors is proposed in this article.First,based on a defined error matrix that simultaneously considers both array mutual coupling and gain/phase errors,a STAP signal model including these errors is given.Then,utilizing the defined signal model,it is demonstrated that the estimation of the defined error matrix can be formulized as a standard convex optimization problem with the low-rank structure of the clutter covariance matrix and the subspace projection theory.Once the defined error matrix is estimated by solving the convex optimization problem,it is illustrated that a STAP method with adaptive calibration of the mutual coupling and gain/phase errors is coined.Analyses also show that the proposed adaptive calibration algorithm only needs one training sample to construct the adaptive weight vector.Therefore,it can achieve a good detection performance even with severe non-homogeneous clutter environments.Finally,the simulation experiments verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and the correctness of the analytical results. 展开更多

This paper proposes a separated trajectory tracking controller for fishing ships at sea state level 6 to solve the trajectory tracking problem of a fishing ship in a 6-level sea state,and to adapt to different working environments and safety requirements.The nonlinear feedback method is used to improve the closed-loop gain shaping algorithm.By introducing the sine function,the problem of excessive control energy of the system can be effectively solved.Moreover,an integral separation design is used to solve the influence of the integral term in conventional PID controllers on the transient performance of the system.In this paper,a common 32.98 m large fiberglass reinforced plastic(FRP)trawler is adopted for simulation research at the winds scale of Beaufort No.7.The results show that the track error is smaller than 3.5 m.The method is safe,feasible,concise and effective and has popularization value in the direction of fishing ship trajectory tracking control.This method can be used to improve the level of informatization and intelligence of fishing ships. 展开更多

Weizhou Island,located in Beihai,Guangxi Province,is recognized as the largest paleovolcanic island in China,characterized by its relatively young geological age.The development of island tourism has progressively established it as a significant tourist attraction within Beihai,transforming the area into a prominent leisure and tourism resort.As tourism on Weizhou Island continues to develop both in scope and in depth,it has increasingly influenced the sense of gain among the local community residents.Currently,in alignment with the strategic objective of achieving common prosperity,it is crucial to comprehend and enhance the sense of gain experienced by residents in island tourism destinations,as this is vital for the achievement of this overarching goal.Taking the residents of Weizhou Island in Beihai as the subjects,this paper constructs their sense of gain related to tourism,employing grounded theory.It posits that the residents’sense of gain comprises four primary dimensions:sense of economic gain,sense of social gain,sense of cultural gain,and sense of environmental gain.Additionally,the paper examines the factors that influence these dimensions.Based on this foundation,effective strategies are proposed to enhance the sense of gain among community residents in island tourism destinations,thereby promoting the sustainable development of island tourism. 展开更多

The Ocean 4A scatterometer, expected to be launched in 2024, is poised to be the world’s first spaceborne microwave scatterometer utilizing a digital beamforming system. To ensure high-precision measurements and performance sta-bility across diverse environments, stringent requirements are placed on the dynamic range of its receiving system. This paper provides a detailed exposition of a field-programmable gate array (FPGA)-based automatic gain control (AGC) design for the spaceborne scatterometer. Implemented on an FPGA, the algo-rithm harnesses its parallel processing capabilities and high-speed performance to monitor the received echo signals in real time. Employing an adaptive AGC algorithm, the system gene-rates gain control codes applicable to the intermediate fre-quency variable attenuator, enabling rapid and stable adjust-ment of signal amplitudes from the intermediate frequency amplifier to an optimal range. By adopting a purely digital pro-cessing approach, experimental results demonstrate that the AGC algorithm exhibits several advantages, including fast con-vergence, strong flexibility, high precision, and outstanding sta-bility. This innovative design lays a solid foundation for the high-precision measurements of the Ocean 4A scatterometer, with potential implications for the future of spaceborne microwave scatterometers. 展开更多

This paper presented an automatic gain control (AGC) circuit suitable for FM/cw ladar. The proposed architecture was based on two-stage variable gain amplifier (VGA) chain with a novel DC offset canceller circuit, which contained an improved Gilbert cell and a Gm-C feedback loop. To keep the VGA with a linearity in dB characteristic, an improved exponential gain control circuit was introduced. The AGC was implemented in 0.18 gm standard CMOS process. Simulation and measurement results verified that its gain ranged from -20 dB to 30 dB, and band- width ranged from 100 kHz to 10 MHz. Its power consumption was 19.8 mW under a voltage supply of 3.3 V. 展开更多
