When the umbrellas were held up against the tear gas attack in the protest on September 28, 2014, the hot issue raised by the marathon-like Yellow Umbrella Movement was not only the matter of politics but also a coincidence created for the Hong Kong locals to face, or to be faced with an already moot cliche： How the Hongkongese can redef＇me and redeem their almost lost socio-cultural identity, particularly under the increasingly hegemonic influences and the socio-cultural invasion of the mainland after the 1997 Handover. My present paper is not intended to discuss the topic of identity on the platform of politics, or the postcolonial studies such as transculturation or cultural hybridty. But instead, I am far more interested in locating such issue on the aesthetic dimension of collective memory, which is revealed in two local contemporary Hong Kong compositions. In the process of shaping and reshaping a form of＂HongKongeseness＂ in which the composers tend to create and the local listeners tend to experience, albeit transient, can appear in every nuance of the sonic metaphor embedded in the pre-existing indigenous tunes of a self-contained compositional work. 展开更多

Mobile-Assisted Language Learning(MALL)has garnered substantial attention due to its demonstrated potential for significantly enhancing learner engagement and instructional effectiveness.However,current research primarily foregrounds learners’experiences,often overlooking the emotional trajectories and teachers’identity construction during its implementation.Grounded in Sociocultural Theory(SCT),this study employs a narrative approach to examine the emotional evolution and identity transformation of a university English teacher adopting MALL.Drawing on nearly four years of empirical data—including interviews,dialogues,and reflective journals—the analysis reveals that the teacher progressed through three distinct identity stages:a conservative novice,a natural user,and an enthusiastic adopter.Each stage aligned with an emotional transition,moving from anxiety to acceptance and,ultimately,to confidence.His internalization of MALL unfolded across three sequential phases:establishing connections,deepening learning,and engaging in critical reflection.This study underscores the dynamic interplay between emotion and identity and posits that effective technology integration must attend to teachers’emotional support needs.The findings may offer valuable insights for the professional development of university English teachers and for the strategic integration of educational technology. 展开更多

The developing Sixth-Generation(6G)network aims to establish seamless global connectivity for billions of humans,machines,and devices.However,the rich digital service and the explosive heterogeneous connection between various entities in 6G networks can not only induce increasing complications of digital identity management,but also raise material concerns about the security and privacy of the user identity.In this paper,we design a user-centric identity management that returns the sole control to the user self and achieves identity sovereignty toward 6G networks.Specifically,we propose a blockchain-based Identity Management(IDM)architecture for 6G networks,which provides a practical method to secure digital identity management.Subsequently,we develop a fully privacy-preserving identity attribute management scheme by using zero-knowledge proof to protect the privacy-sensitive identity attribute.In particular,the scheme achieves an identity attribute hiding and verification protocol to support users in obtaining and applying their identity attributes without revealing concrete data.Finally,we analyze the security of the proposed architecture and implement a prototype system to evaluate its performance.The results demonstrate that our architecture ensures effective user digital identity management in 6G networks. 展开更多

Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)are becoming a common solution to urban mobility,and traffic monitoring as well,owing to their ability to be deployed flexibly,ability to see a broader area and real-time sensing.However,the reliability of UAV-assisted traffic systems can be compromised through identity spoofing,Sybil attacks,false data injection,and trajectory manipulation.Current authentication techniques primarily verify cryptographic identities but often cannot detect when a claimed identity is inconsistent with physical movement patterns and settings.To overcome this drawback,this paper presents a context-aware identity validation system,CIV-UAV,for UAV-based urban traffic surveillance.The paradigm combines a model of cryptographic validation,model mobility,on-the-fly visual,road-network,temporal continuity,anomaly scoring,and multi-UAV consensus into a cohesive trust-based validation model.The risk-adaptive policy also adjusts the validation strictness based on the seriousness of the situation and the level of uncertainty.The outcomes of simulations indicate that CIV-UAV enhances identity validation,lowers the false detection and false acceptance rates,and reinforces the detection of spoofing,Sybil behaviour,path forgery,injection of fake events,and vision-communication mismatch attacks.The suggested architecture provides an identity validation system that is easy to implement and can be upgraded to a next-generation UAV-intelligent transportation network. 展开更多

Recognizing frontal faces from non-frontal or profile images is a major problem due to pose changes,self-occlusions,and the complete loss of important structural and textural components,depressing recognition accuracy and visual fidelity.This paper introduces a new deep generative framework,Modified Multi-Scale Fused CycleGAN(MMF-CycleGAN),for robust and photo-realistic profile-to-frontal face synthesis.The MMF-CycleGAN framework utilizes pre-processing and then the generator employs a Deep Dilated DenseNet encoder-based hierarchical feature extraction along with a transformer and decoder.The proposed Multi-Scale Fusion PatchGAN discriminator enforces consistency at multiple spatial resolutions,leading to sharper textures and improved global facial geometry.Also,GAN training stability and identity preservation are improved through the Ranger optimizer,which effectively balances adversarial,identity,and cycle-consistency losses.Experiments on three benchmark datasets show that MMFCycleGAN achieves accuracy of 0.9541,0.9455,and 0.9422,F1-scores of 0.9654,0.9641,and 0.9614,and AUC values of 0.9742,0.9714,and 0.9698,respectively,and the extreme-pose accuracy(yaw>60°)reaches 0.92.Despite its enhanced architecture,the framework maintains an efficient inference time of 0.042 s per image,making it suitable for real-time biometric authentication,surveillance,and security applications in unconstrained environments. 展开更多

In this paper, we aim to use an innovative model to integrate applied work on a fast-acting mind-body intervention, Mind-Body Bridging (MBB), with theoretical work based on psychology and neuroscience. In an affect-object generative inference and regulation (AGIR) model, we propose that functional dynamics between two systems, the affect-object thought generation system and the cognitive control system, can guide an individual to achieve homeostasis within self and harmonious relationships with others. We used Neurosynth (www.neurosynth.org), an automated meta-analysis database, to identify potential brain substrates underlying the key components in the AGIR model. Based on the findings, some brain regions are implicated as the key cortical substrates in this model, corroborating our central hypothesis that a hallmark of mind-body wellbeing can be characterized as a low-frequency anti-correlantion between 1) the cognitive control system including the dorsal anterior/middle cingulate cortex, and 2) the affect-object thought generation system including the ventromedial prefrontal cortex and posterior cingulate cortex. MBB provides an efficient strategy for responding to and dissolving a fundamental problem that impairs mind-body wellbeing, i.e., unrealistic identity-grasping consisting of self-centered embodied expectations of self and others. We demonstrated how theoretical and applied work could be integrated by drawing evidence from the neuroscience literature to support the AGIR model, and then we applied the AGIR model to elucidate how MBB might work. 展开更多

National identity and subjective well-being among college students:A sequential mediation analysis of collective and personal self-esteem 认领 引用

The current study examined the roles of collective self-esteem and personal self-esteem in the relationship between national identity and subjective well-being.Participants were 583 Chinese college students(females=49%;mean age=19.25±1.85 years).They completed measures of national identity,collective self-esteem,personal self-esteem,and subjective well-being.Path analysis findings result indicated national identity to influence the students’subjective wellbeing through three pathways:(1)national identity→collective self-esteem→subjective well-being,meaning higher subjective wellbeing with collective self-esteem.(2)national identity→personal self-esteem→subjective well-being,to suggest higher personal self-esteem was associated with subjective wellbeing;(3)national identity→collective selfesteem→personal self-esteem→subjective well-being.Compared to simple mediation models constructed with only personal self-esteem or collective self-esteem as a single mediating variable,the chain mediation model better explains the mediating mechanism of national identity on subjective well-being(the variance explained by the mediating variables increased by 65.38%and 59.26%,respectively).The collective self-esteem and personal self-esteem mediation is consistent with social identity theory,whereby national identity enhances collective self-evaluation,which in turn bolsters personal self-worth and subjective well-being.These findings of the current study offer new insights into how national identity affects subjective well-being in collectivistic culture. 展开更多

Background:Emerging adulthood is a critical period for ego identity exploration and consolidation,and self-presentation on social media constitutes a salient online context for this developmental process.However,limited research has explored the associations between self-presentation on WeChat Moments and ego identity.This study aims to examine these associations,focusing on the mediating role of online positive feedback and the moderating role of gender.Methods:Using a three-wave longitudinal design,this study followed 767 Chinese college students(Mean age=18.96 years)through cluster sampling.Participants completed self-report questionnaires assessing self-presentation on WeChat Moments,online positive feedback,and ego identity status.Data analyses were conducted using mediation modeling and multi-group structural equation modeling.Results:Authentic self-presentation was positively associated with identity achievement and negatively associated with identity diffusion,whereas positive self-presentation was linked to higher levels of identity foreclosure.Online positive feedback played a significant mediating role in the associations between self-presentation strategies and identity statuses,and gender differences were observed in this mediating pathway.For both males and females,authentic self-presentation was associated with higher identity achievement through online positive feedback.However,indirect associations with identity foreclosure and diffusion were observed only among females:authentic self-presentation was linked to lower levels,whereas positive self-presentation was linked to higher levels of foreclosure and diffusion through online positive feedback.No comparable indirect associations were detected among males.Conclusions:Online positive feedback is closely linked to self-presentation strategies and ego identity statuses,with these associations varying by gender. 展开更多

With the growing deployment of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)swarms in national defense,military operations,and emergency response,secure and reliable intra-swarm identity authentication has become critical for ensuring coordinated action and mission reliability.To address the drawbacks of public key infrastructure(PKI)based authentication in UAV swarms,namely,complex certificate management,strong dependence on centralized authorities,and authentication latency.We propose a certificateless identity authentication scheme for UAV swarms built on blockchain sharding.The scheme leverages sharding to execute authentication in parallel across multiple shards,significantly improving efficiency.Each UAV locally generates its public/private key pair and then adopts a registration-based encryption(RBE)mechanism:A registration algorithm binds the device identity to its key on the blockchain,ensuring public verifiability and immutability of identity mapping.On this basis,an authentication algorithm runs in which the initiator produces an authentication signature using a common reference string(CRS),on-chain public-key registration information,and its local private key,and the verifier rapidly validates the authentication message using the on-chain registration data and the identity of the initiator.The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme achieves low-latency and high-throughput identity authentication in large-scale UAV swarm environments,providing a solid technical foundation and broad application prospects for trustworthy UAV swarm identity authentication. 展开更多

This article investigates the role of Chinese-language cinema in shaping the cultural identity of overseas Chinese communities.Confronting the challenge of cultural preservation amidst assimilation pressures,these communities increasingly engage with diasporic cinema.The analysis,drawing on literature review and comparative case studies of The Wedding Banquet(1993),The Farewell(2019),and Crazy Rich Asians(2018),argues that such cinema functions as a vital cultural archive,a platform for identity formation,and a contact zone for transnational dialogue.Findings reveal that films actively negotiate heritage and belonging,yet their impact is moderated by generational and regional differences,while commercial transnational productions may risk homogenising diverse diasporic experiences.The study concludes that Chinese-language cinema is instrumental in sustaining dynamic,multifaceted identities,challenging static notions of“Chineseness”.It calls for more inclusive narratives and further research employing longitudinal and comparative designs to better understand the affective and cognitive dimensions of audience reception within global networks. 展开更多

Objectives:Psychological resilience is a critical resource for vocational high school students navigating social biases and fostering mental well-being.This six-month longitudinal study investigated the developmental trajectories of discrimination perception,vocational identity,and psychological resilience in this population.It further examined the longitudinal mediating role of vocational identity in the relationship between discrimination perception and psychological resilience.Methods:A total of 526 students from five vocational high schools in Guangdong,China,were assessed via convenience sampling at two time points:baseline(T1,September 2023)and six-month follow-up(T2,March 2024).Measures of discrimination perception,psychological resilience,and vocational identity were administered.Data were analyzed using a cross-lagged panel model to test for bidirectional relationships.Results:Over the six-month period,students showed significant decreases in discrimination perception and vocational identity,but a significant increase in psychological resilience.The cross-lagged model revealed significant bidirectional relationships:discrimination perception and psychological resilience negatively predicted each other over time(β=−0.124,p<0.01;β=−0.200,p<0.001),while psychological resilience and vocational identity positively predicted each other(β=0.084,p<0.05;β=0.076,p<0.05).The mediation analysis revealed a dual-pathway mechanism.T1 discrimination perception exerted both a significant direct negative effect on T2 psychological resilience(β=−0.332,p<0.001)and a significant indirect positive effect via T1 vocational identity(indirect effect=0.020,95%CI[0.001,0.046]).This confirms a partial mediating role,indicating that vocational identity functions as a compensatory mechanism,transforming the experience of discrimination perception into a potential source of psychological resilience.Conclusions:For vocational high school students,perception of discrimination directly undermines psychological resilience,but also indirectly fosters it through the positive development of vocational identity.These findings highlight vocational identity as a pivotal mechanism in the complex relationship between social adversity and mental resilience. 展开更多

An AI-Driven and Risk-Aware Digital Identity Protection Framework for Secure IoMT Environments 认领 引用

With the rapid expansion of the Internet of Medical Things(IoMT),the importance of digital identity-based security has significantly increased.However,conventional static authentication mechanisms are insufficient to effectively address various identity misuse and abuse attacks.In this study,we model digital identity as a dynamic security entity and propose an AI-based framework that integrates a risk scoring model—combining unsupervised anomaly detection with context-aware analysis—and a multi-level risk-adaptive access control mechanism(Permit,Step-Up,Restrict).Experimental results using an extended version of the CERT Insider Threat Dataset tailored for IoMT environments provide proof-of-concept evidence that the proposed method can achieve an AUC of approximately 0.927,demonstrating effective discrimination between normal and malicious behavioral patterns.Furthermore,the framework maintains a low False Restriction Rate of around 1.605%while still detecting attacks at a meaningful level,thereby achieving a balance between security and usability.This study highlights the feasibility of a risk-adaptive digital identity protection framework that dynamically evaluates digital identity and adaptively responds based on risk levels in IoMT environments. 展开更多

This study examined the mediating role of perceived supervisor–student relationship quality and the moderating role of student extraversion in the relationship between supervisor conscientiousness and graduate students’professional identity.A total of 450 graduate students completed surveys of supervisor conscientiousness,perceived supervisor–student relationship quality,professional identity,and extraversion.Results of a moderated mediation model testing showed that supervisor conscientiousness was associated with higher graduate students’professional identity.Perceived supervisor–student relationship quality mediated this association,with higher supervisor conscientiousness linked to better perceived supervisor–student relationship quality,which in turn related to higher levels of professional identity.In addition,student extraversion moderated the link between supervisor conscientiousness and perceived relationship quality,such that this association was stronger among students low in extraversion.These findings extend social learning theory by showing that supervisors’personality traits shape graduate students’professional identity through relational mechanisms,while also indicating this process may operate through relationship-based need satisfaction,as proposed in self-determination theory.By implication,fostering conscientious supervisory practices and supportive relationships may facilitate professional identity development,particularly among students low in extraversion. 展开更多

values into visual symbols,and keep a visual system coherent across different media.AIGC tools can assist with reference collection,keyword generation,moodboard exploration,preliminary logo ideas,and application mock-... values into visual symbols,and keep a visual system coherent across different media.AIGC tools can assist with reference collection,keyword generation,moodboard exploration,preliminary logo ideas,and application mock-ups.These uses are helpful,but they do not remove the hard part of the course.Brand identity design still depends on brand understanding,semiotic awareness,aesthetic judgment,teacher feedback,and students’own revision.Recent studies in design education suggest that generative AI works best in early ideation and visual variation,while design quality still needs human selection and refinement.Based on this view,the paper proposes a practice-oriented path for integrating AIGC into Brand Identity Design courses.The path covers pre-class research,in-class ideation,design development,presentation,reflection,and evaluation.It also introduces AI use statements,prompt logs,process portfolios,teacher review,and originality reflection as ways to control risks such as homogenization,copyright uncertainty,over-reliance,and blurred authorship.The goal is not to make AIGC the center of the course.It is to place the tool inside a guided teaching process where students still have to think,decide,and revise. 展开更多

This study investigates the role of affective trust as a catalyst for cultural engagement and identity formation among the Chinese-Australian diaspora through the lens of Chinese-language cinema.It addresses a critical gap in understanding the psychosocial mechanisms by which emotionally resonant film narratives foster trust,strengthen communal bonds,and facilitate the negotiation of hybrid identities in a multicultural context.Employing a qualitative,case-study methodology focused on three representative films-The Farewell,Ash Is Purest White,and The Year of the Everlasting Storm-the analysis reveals how narrative authenticity builds affective trust,which in turn mediates audience engagement and supports both individual identity reconciliation and community cohesion.The findings highlight cinema’s unique function as a translocal forum within the Sinosphere,offering practical insights for cultural programming and policy aimed at leveraging media for deeper social integration and sustainable diasporic identity work. 展开更多
