Using the panel data of small and medium-sized board listed companies in China’s A-share market from 2021 to 2024, this research applies the input-oriented DEA-BCC model to measure the technical efficiency at the com...Using the panel data of small and medium-sized board listed companies in China’s A-share market from 2021 to 2024, this research applies the input-oriented DEA-BCC model to measure the technical efficiency at the company level and then adopts the industry-annual two-way fixed effects model to examine the influence of management information system investment on the technical efficiency of small and medium-sized enterprises. We find that the investment in the management information system significantly restrains the technical efficiency: an increase of one standard deviation in the investment intensity will lead to the efficiency decreasing by 0.0431 units, which is equivalent to 13.34% of the sample mean and this confirms that there is a productivity paradox in the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises which is analogous to the classic Solow Paradox at the corporate level. This inhibitory effect is more obvious in small-scale, high-leverage, low-profitability companies, which shows that resource endowments and risk-resistance capabilities are indeed the key boundary conditions. This research not only provides micro-empirical evidence for the research regarding the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises but also produces practical reference materials for enterprises and policymakers.展开更多

AIM:Regulatory T cells(Tregs)are a specialized subset of CD4+T cells primarily involved in im⁃munosuppressive functions.AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK)serves as a metabolic sensor that governs the differen⁃tiati...AIM:Regulatory T cells(Tregs)are a specialized subset of CD4+T cells primarily involved in im⁃munosuppressive functions.AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK)serves as a metabolic sensor that governs the differen⁃tiation,maturation,and immune functions of Tregs through metabolic reprogramming.However,the impact of AMPKα1(the catalytic subunit of AMPK)knockout specifically in Tregs on the host's immune microenvironment remains largely un⁃explored.METHODS:Histological changes in immune organs were assessed using HE staining.The types of immune cells and their relative population percentages in immune organs and blood were quantified through flow cytometry in both AMPKα1flox/flox(AMPKα1fl/fl)mice and Treg-specific AMPKα1 knockout mice(AMPKα1fl/flFoxp3cremice).RESULTS:Compared to AMPKα1fl/flmice,the percentage of eosinophils in the bone marrow of AMPKα1fl/flFoxp3cremice was significant⁃ly reduced.Additionally,while the thymus of AMPKα1fl/flFoxp3cremice exhibited normal structure,both its size and the ratio of thymus weight to body weight were significantly decreased.The knockout of AMPKα1 in Tregs led to a notable reduction in the total percentage of immature double-negative(DN)cells.Consequently,the percentage of CD4+T cells derived from these DN cells also decreased,even though the percentages of DN1 and DN4 cells were higher in the thymus of AMPKα1fl/flFoxp3cremice compared to AMPKα1fl/flmice.Importantly,the proportion of Siglec-F+CD11b+eosinophils in the thymus was significantly lower in AMPKα1fl/flFoxp3cremice.Knockout of AMPKα1 in Tregs resulted in a marked increase in the percentage of CD4+T cells in peripheral blood,alongside a decrease in the proportion of mature CD8+T cells.Similarly,the proportion of CD4+T cells in the spleen of AMPKα1fl/flFoxp3cremice was elevated compared to AMPKα1fl/flmice.In contrast,the proportion of neutrophils significantly decreased,while mononuclear cell proportions increased in the spleen of AMPKα1fl/flFoxp3cremice.In lymph nodes,the medullary boundaries in AMPKα1fl/flFoxp3cremice were blurred,and the lymphoid follicles were missing,a feature not observed in AMPKα1fl/flmice.Furthermore,the knockout of AMPKα1 in Tregs reduced the CD3+T cell population,particularly the CD8+T cell population,in lymph nodes.Although the mature Treg cell population was significantly lower in AMPKα1fl/flFoxp3cremice,the percentage of CD4+T cells was markedly in⁃creased.In contrast,there was no statistically significant difference in granulocyte populations between AMPKα1fl/flFoxp3creand AMPKα1fl/flmice.CONCLUSION:The populations of mature Tregs,CD8+T cells and eosinophils in various im⁃mune organs were significantly altered in mice with Treg-specific AMPKα1 knockout,suggesting a potential remodeling of the host immune microenvironment in response to inflammatory stimuli.展开更多
Objective: To determine quantitatively the amount of demineralization and the ability of commercially available products and an experimental cream to inhibit or reverse orthodontic related demineralization.Methods: A ...Objective: To determine quantitatively the amount of demineralization and the ability of commercially available products and an experimental cream to inhibit or reverse orthodontic related demineralization.Methods: A total of 20 patients who were 25–35 years old and having orthodontic treatment for 6–8 months were chosen.Caries risk assessments were done for each patient and ones with "moderate risk" were included.Patients with fixed orthodontic appliances were divided into 4 groups(5 patients each) including one control and 3 study groups.All patients used same toothpaste 2 times a day during the 3 weeks study period.Additional to the toothpaste first study group used MI Paste Plus(GC, Tokyo, Japan), second study group used Remin Pro(Voco, Cuxhaven, Germany) and third group used an experimental remineralizing cream per day for 3 weeks.Maxillary central and lateral incisors of each patient were examined by FluoreCam(Daraza Therametric Technologies, USA) device.The examinations were performed at baseline and at the end of 1st, 2nd and 3rd weeks.Results: According to the FluoreCam measurements the control group showed significant amount of demineralization at the end of 3 weeks, moreover the amount of demineralization has gradually increased in time.At the end of the study all 3 study groups showed significant amount of remineralization and the amount of remineralization for all the 3 study groups has gradually increased in time.However the amount of remineralization for 3rd study group was lesser than the 1st and 2nd study groups.The remineralization amounts for the 1st and 2 nd study groups were determined to be identical.Conclusions: This study demonstrated that demineralization is measurable around orthodontic brackets and the demineralization can be completely inhibited and/or reversed by the use of commercially available remineralization products.展开更多
