The adsorption rate could reach above 99% when the pH values were at the range of 5-6. The adsorption balance time, adsorption capacities, and the eluent were investigated. A novel method of trace Cu( Ⅱ ) preconcentration and separation with nanometer-size titanium dioxide colloid and determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) was advanced. The detection limit (3a) of the method was 1.15 μg · L^-1, and the relative standard deviation (R.S.D) was 1.53% (n=6). Environmental sample experiments were also conducted to test the feasibility of the method, and it came out that the recovery rates were between 95.9% and 97.8%. 展开更多

A novel method of ultra-trace Cd(Ⅱ) preconcentration with nanometer-size TiO2 colloid and determination by graphite furnace atomic adsorption spectrometry(GFAAS) with slurry sampling was first advanced in this paper. The adsorption efficiency of nanometer-size TiO2 colloid for ultra-trace Cd(Ⅱ) could reach above 96% in a short time when the pH value was between 5 and 6. Other problems were also studied, such as adsorption capacity, nanometer-size TiO2 colloid dosage, effect of coexistent ions. The detection limit(3σ) and the relative standard deviation (R.S.D) of this method were 4.46.103 μg/L and 1.30%(n=7), respectively. The method was successfully applied to the analysis of environmental samples with recoveries between 93.8% and 96.4%. 展开更多

The photochromic performances of the resulting materials obtained via combining the WO3 colloid with the treated TiO2 colloid and the non-treated TiO2 colloid, respectively, are very different. The TiO2 colloid without hydrothermal treatment can effectively improve the photochromic performance of the WO3colloid. The TiO2 nanoparticles were investigated in detail by XRD, TEM, surface photovohage spectra(SPS) and field-induced surface photovoltage spectrometry(FISPS). The photochromism mechanism of WO3 colloid is discussed. 展开更多

The adsorption rate could reach above 99~ when the pH values were at the range of 4 10. The adsorption balance time was 10 min , the saturation capacity of adsorption of nanometer-size TiO2 to V(Ⅴ) was 6.43 mg per gram. Using 2 mL 1.5 mol · L^-1 NaOH as elution, we found the elution rate could reach 95%. A novel method of extreme-trace V(Ⅴ ) preconeentration with nanometer-size titanium dioxide and determination by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectroscopy (GFAAS) was advanced. The detection limit(3σ)of the method was 0.61μg ·L^-1 , and the relative standard deviation was 8.1% (n=6) of 2.5μg ·L-^1 V(Ⅴ). Environmental samples experiments were also conducted to test the feasibility of the method, and it came out that the recovery rates were between 91.2% and 102.0%. 展开更多

ZrO2/TiO2 composite photocatalytic film was produced on the pure titanium substrate using in-situ Zr(OH)4 colloidal particle by the micro-arc oxidation technique and characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometer. The composite film shows a lamellar and porous structure which consists of anatase, futile and ZrO2 phases. The optical absorption edge of film is shifted to longer wavelength when ZrO2 is introduced to TiO2. Furthermore, the photocatalytic reaction rate constants of degradation of rhodamine B solution with ZrO2/TiO2 composite film and pure TiO2 film under ultraviolet irradiation are measured as 0.0442 and 0.0186 h 1, respectively. 展开更多

Yb-doped TiO2 pastes with different Yb/TiO2 weight ratios are prepared in the sol-gel process to obtain dyesensitized solar cells (DSCs). The nanocrystalline size of Yb-TiO2 becomes smaller and the lattice parameters change. Lattice distortion is observed and dark current is detected. It is found that a part of Yb existing as insulating oxide Yb2O3 state acts as barrier layers at the electrode-electrolyte interface to suppress charge recombination. A Yb-doped TiO2 electrode applied in DSCs leads to a higher open-circuit voltage and a higher fill factor. How the Yb-doped TiO2 films affect the photovoltaic response of DSCs is discussed. 展开更多

In this work, we developed a templated self-assembly approach to fabricate self-supporting Au/TiO2 binary nanoparticles-nanotubes (NPNTs) for the first time. The stable Au/TiO2 nanoparticles colloids were pre-synthesized and then deposited onto an AAO template, following by a mild calcination process. Au/TiO2 binary NPNTs can be achieved after removing the AAO template by NaOH solution. In addition, Au/TiO2 NPNTs with different thicknesses and size distributions could be achieved by tailoring the process parameters, such as the molar ratio of AuNPs to TiO2NPs, deposition modes and calcinations conditions. Therefore, these findings made controllable formation of Au/TiO2 NPNTs attractive for promising fabrication methodologies of metal/metal oxides NPNTs. 展开更多

Metal nanoparticle (NP) co-catalysts on metal oxide semiconductor supports are attracting attention as photocatalysts for a variety of chemical reactions. Related efforts seek to make and use Pt-free catalysts. In this regard, we report here enhanced CH4 formation rates of 25 and 60 μmol·g^-1·h^-1 by photocatalytic CO2 reduction using hitherto unused ZnPd NPs as well as Au and Ru NPs. The NPs are formed by colloidal synthesis and grafted onto short n-type anatase TiO2 nanotube arrays (TNAs), grown anodically on transparent glass substrates. The interfacial electric fields in the NP-grafted TiO2 nanotubes were probed by ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS). Au NP-grafted TiO2 nanotubes (Au-TNAs) showed no band bending, but a depletion region was detected in Ru NP-grafted TNAs (Ru-TNAs) and an accumulation layer was observed in ZnPd NP-grafted TNAs (ZnPd-TNAs). Temperature programmed desorption (TPD) experiments showed significantly greater CO2 adsorption on NP-grafted TNAs. TNAs with grafted NPs exhibit broader and more intense UV-visible absorption bands than bare TNAs. We found that CO2 photoreduction by nanoparticle-grafted TNAs was driven not only by ultraviolet photons with energies greater than the TiO2 band gap, but also by blue photons close to and below the anatase band edge. The enhanced rate of CO2 reduction is attributed to superior use of blue photons in the solar spectrum, excellent reactant adsorption, efficient charge transfer to adsorbates, and low recombination losses. 展开更多

Fractionations of rare earth elements(REEs)and their mechanisms in soybean were studied through application of exogenous mixed REEs under hydroponic conditions.Significant enrichment of middle REEs(MREEs)and heavy REEs(HREEs)was observed in plant roots and leaves respectively,with slight fractionation between light REEs(LREEs)and HREEs in stems.Moreover,the tetrad effect was observed in these organs.Investigations into REE speciation in roots and in the xylem sap using X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS)and nanometer-sized TiO2 adsorption techniques,associated with other controlled experiments,demonstrated that REE fractionations should be dominated by fixation mechanism in roots caused by cell wall absorption and phosphate precipitation,and by the combined effects of fixation mechanism and transport mechanism in aboveground parts caused by solution complexation by intrinsic organic ligands.A conceptive model was established for REE fractionations in plants based on the above studies. 展开更多
