This paper investigates the problem of event-triggered H∞state estimation for Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy affine systems. The objective is to design an event-triggered scheme and an observer such that the resulting estimation error system is asymptotically stable with a prescribed H∞performance and at the same time unnecessary output measurement transmission can be reduced. First, an event-triggered scheme is proposed to determine whether the sampled measurements should be transmitted or not. The output measurements, which trigger the condition, are supposed to suffer a network-induced time-varying and bounded delay before arriving at the observer. Then, by adopting the input delay method, the estimation error system can be reformulated as a piecewise delay system. Based on the piecewise Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and the Finsler's lemma, the event-triggered H∞observer design method is developed. Moreover, an algorithm is proposed to co-design the observer gains and the event-triggering parameters to guarantee that the estimation error system is asymptotically stable with a given disturbance attenuation level and the signal transmission rate is reduced as much as possible. Simulation studies are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

For matrix polytopes, new conditions via the affine parameter-dependent Lyapunov function of uncertain systems are developed with the benefit of the scalar multi-convex function. To be convenient for applications, such conditions are simplified into new linear matrix inequality (LMI) conditions, which can be solved by the powerful LMI toolbox. Numerical examples are provided to indicate that this new approach is less conservative than previous results for Hurwitz stability, Schur stability and D-stability of uncertain systems under certain circumstances. 展开更多

An analysis method based on the fuzzy Lyapunov functions is presented to analyze the stability of the continuous affine fuzzy systems. First, a method is introduced to deal with the consequent part of the fuzzy local model. Thus, the stability analysis method of the homogeneous fuzzy system can be used for reference. Stability conditions are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities based on the fuzzy Lyapunov functions and the modified common Lyapunov functions, respectively. The results demonstrate that the stability result based on the fuzzy Lyapunov functions is less conservative than that based on the modified common Lyapunov functions via numerical examples. Compared with the method which does not expand the consequent part, the proposed method is simpler but its feasible region is reduced. Finally, in order to expand the application of the fuzzy Lyapunov functions, the piecewise fuzzy Lyapunov function is proposed, which can be used to analyze the stability for triangular or trapezoidal membership functions and obtain the stability conditions. A numerical example validates the effectiveness of the proposed approach. 展开更多

This article presents an adaptive fault-tolerant tracking control strategy for unknown affine nonlinear systems subject to actuator faults and external disturbances.To address the hyperparameter initialization challenges inherent in conventional neural network training,an improved self-organizing radial basis function neural network(SRBFNN)with an input-dependent variable structure is developed.Furthermore,a novel selforganizing RBFNN-based observer is introduced to estimate system states across all dimensions.Leveraging the reconstructed states,the proposed adaptive controller effectively compensates for all uncertainties,including estimation errors in the observer,ensuring accurate state tracking with reduced control effort.The uniform ultimate boundedness of all closed-loop signals and tracking errors is rigorously established via Lyapunov stability analysis.Finally,simulations on two different nonlinear systems comprehensively validate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed control approach. 展开更多

This paper addresses the problem of global practical stabilization of discrete-time switched affine systems via statedependent switching rules.Several attempts have been made to solve this problem via different types of a common quadratic Lyapunov function and an ellipsoid.These classical results require either the quadratic Lyapunov function or the employed ellipsoid to be of the centralized type.In some cases,the ellipsoids are defined dependently as the level sets of a decentralized Lyapunov function.In this paper,we extend the existing results by the simultaneous use of a general decentralized Lyapunov function and a decentralized ellipsoid parameterized independently.The proposed conditions provide less conservative results than existing works in the sense of the ultimate invariant set of attraction size.Two different approaches are proposed to extract the ultimate invariant set of attraction with a minimum size,i.e.,a purely numerical method and a numerical-analytical one.In the former,both invariant and attractiveness conditions are imposed to extract the final set of matrix inequalities.The latter is established on a principle that the attractiveness of a set implies its invariance.Thus,the stability conditions are derived based on only the attractiveness property as a set of matrix inequalities with a smaller dimension.Illustrative examples are presented to prove the satisfactory operation of the proposed stabilization methods. 展开更多

The Lie brackets generated by the vector fields which define the nonlinear system represent a remarkable mathematical instrument for the control of affine systems. We determine the optimal control which corresponds to the nilpotent operator of the first order. In particular, we obtain the control that minimizes the energy of the given nonlinear system. Since optics and mechanics both have symplectic structures, the concept of optics can be replaced by that of mechanics and vice versa. We list the four types of eikonal (generating functions). We also introduce a unitary operator for the affine transformation. Using the unitary operator, the kernel (propagator) is calculated and the wavization (quantization) of the Gabor function is discussed. Based on a piecewise singular Lyapunov function combined with S-procedure,Projection lemma and some matrix inequality convexifying techniques,sufficient conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities are given for the existence of an output-feedback controller for the discrete-time piecewiseaffine singular systems with a prescribed H∞disturbance attenuation level,and the H2norm is smaller than a given positive number. It is shown that the controller gains can be obtained by solving a family of LMIs parameterized by one or two scalar variables. The numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed design methods. 展开更多

One of the non-spectral problems on μM,D is to estimate the number of orthogonal exponentials in L2(μM,D). In the present paper, we establish some relations inside the zero set  by the Fourier transform of the self-affine measure μM,D. Based on these facts, we show that μM,D is a non-spectral measure and there exist at most 4 mutually orthogonal exponential functions in L2(μM,D), where the number 4 is the best possible.
