Due to its clear definition of property rights, flexible spatial layout, and effective reduction of noise pollution and risks associated with waterproofing leakage, same-floor drainage technology has gradually become a significant development direction in residential drainage systems. This article elaborates on the fundamental principles of same-floor drainage technology in residential buildings and classifies the main system types into three categories: dropped floor slab, wall-mounted, and subfloor systems. It provides a detailed analysis of the technical characteristics and applicable scenarios for each type. It summarizes several commonly used application models and related product systems currently available in the market. The study reveals that this technology still faces numerous challenges during widespread adoption, including the lack of unified design and construction standards, resulting in poor compatibility among different systems; higher initial investment costs compared to traditional drainage methods, which affects market acceptance; and high demands for precision and teamwork during construction, increasing the risk of quality issues. To promote further development of this technology, it is recommended to establish and improve relevant standards and regulations as soon as possible, advancing product standardization and interoperability. The shape functions of the transition plate elements are derived based on a practical rule. The transition plate elements are all quadrilateral and can be used to obtain efficient finite element models using minimum number of elements. The mesh convergence rates of the models including the transition elements are compared with the regular element models. To verify the developed elements, simple tests are demonstrated and various elasto-plastic problems are solved. Their results are compared with ANSYS results.展开更多
