Stochastic characteristics of the Benue River streamflow process are examined under conditions of data austerity.The streamflow process is investigated for trend,non-stationarity and seasonality for a time period of 26 years.Results of trend analyses with Mann-Kendall test show that there is no trend in the annual mean discharges.Monthly flow series examined with seasonal Kendall test indicate the presence of positive change in the trend for some months,especially the months of August,January,and February.For the stationarity test,daily and monthly flow series appear to be stationary whereas at 1%,5%,and 10%significant levels,the stationarity alternative hypothesis is rejected for the annual flow series.Though monthly flow appears to be stationary going by this test,because of high seasonality,it could be said to exhibit periodic stationarity based on the seasonality analysis.The following conclusions are drawn:(1)There is seasonality in both the mean and variance with unimodal distribution.(2)Days with high mean also have high variance.(3)Skewness coefficients for the months within the dry season period are greater than those of the wet season period,and seasonal autocorrelations for streamflow during dry season are generally larger than those of the wet season.Precisely,they are significantly different for most of the months.(4)The autocorrelation functions estimated"over time"are greater in the absolute value for data that have not been deseasonalised but were initially normalised by logarithmic transformation only,while autocorrelation functions for i=1,2365 estimated"over realisations"have their coefficients significantly different from other coefficients. 展开更多

Initial sugarcane production in South Africa relied on imported varieties. When imported varieties succumbed to diseases, the industry established the South African Research Institute (SASRI) with the mandate to develop sugarcane varieties. The popular and highly successful varieties, NCo310 and NCo376 were selected from crosses imported from India. NCo310 and NCo376 were grown successfully in several countries across the world where they produced high yield and ratooning ability. Later, crossing was established at SASRI based on flowers initiated in the glasshouse and photoperiod house under controlled temperature and photoperiod conditions. A five stage program is currently being implemented in the variety development process. More than 60 varieties have been released from the breeding programs. Other achievements include development of germplasm that is currently being used to enhance sugar cane variety development in South Africa. Currently, high realised selection gains are evident in most of the advanced selection populations. The released varieties show genetic gains over time. Efforts to enhance the breeding program include introgression, family evaluation, selection models and use of molecular markers. 展开更多

弯道内水流受离心力影响发生偏转,使剪切力分布变得极为复杂。为研究弯道中心角对弯道剪切力的影响,基于Fluent采用Realise k~ε湍流模型开展数值模拟,对6种不同中心角弯道的剪切力进行对比分析。结果表明,弯道内剪切力出现位置受弯道... 弯道内水流受离心力影响发生偏转,使剪切力分布变得极为复杂。为研究弯道中心角对弯道剪切力的影响,基于Fluent采用Realise k~ε湍流模型开展数值模拟,对6种不同中心角弯道的剪切力进行对比分析。结果表明,弯道内剪切力出现位置受弯道中心角影响明显,随中心角增加,凸岸侧剪切力最大值出现位置由弯道出口断面处向上游移动,然后向下游移动;在凹岸侧剪切力变化规律比较明显,均呈现出先减小后增大的变化规律,弯顶断面处剪切力最大值出现在中心角为30°时,出口断面处剪切力最大值出现在中心角为180°时。研究成果可为弯道岸坡设计提供一定的参考与借鉴。 展开更多

Empowering the value realization of ecological products with a digital economy is an important path for achieving the transformation of“two mountains”and the construction of ecological civilization.Based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2011 to 2022,a fixed-effects model was used to empirically test the impact,heterogeneity and mechanism of the effects of the digital economy on the value realization of ecological products.This analysis revealed three key findings.(1)The digital economy has a significant driving effect on improving the ability to realize the value of ecological products,and this effect is still applicable in a variety of robustness tests such as shrinking the years,replacing explanatory variables,and endogeneity tests.(2)The rise of the digital economy affects the value realization of ecological products to different degrees in different regions,especially in the eastern region,while the effect in the central region is not obvious.(3)The analysis of mechanistic variables indicated that the digital economy has an impact on the value realization of ecological products through the development of green finance and government revenue.Therefore,the government should design differentiated and multi-level support policies for the realization of ecological product value according to the heterogeneity of natural resources,ecological potential and the levels of digital economy development in different regions,and it should strengthen the control of non-environmental protection behaviors of the enterprises.Enterprises should accelerate the digital transformation of the entire production,distribution,circulation and consumption chain of ecological products,and actively develop financial products and services that meet the characteristics and needs of ecological products. 展开更多
