Orthogonal arrays with repeated rows have significant applications in the domains of statistical experimental design and pure error estimation,quantum information and quantum communication,and scientific computing and computer theory,among others.However,there are many unsolved problems on orthogonal arrays with repeated rows.This paper focuses on asymmetric orthogonal arrays.First,we find a bound for asymmetric orthogonal arrays of strength 2 with repeated rows.Second,based on this bound,optimal orthogonal arrays and m-optimal orthogonal arrays are defined.By using the orthogonal decomposition of projection matrices and the contractive replacement method,we construct many asymmetric orthogonal arrays of strength 2 with repeated rows including quite a few optimal and m-optimal ones.Finally,by employing the juxtaposition method and the expansive replacement method,asymmetric orthogonal arrays of general strength with repeated rows are obtained.Some selective new ROAs are tabulated for practical uses. 展开更多

Extensive experimental studies on the heat transfer characteristics of two rows of aligned jet holes impinging on a concave surface in a wing leading edge were conducted, where50000 Rej 90000, 1.74 H/d 27.5, 66° a 90°, and 13.2 r/d 42.03. The finding was that the heat transfer performance at the jet-impingement stagnation point with two rows of aligned jet holes was the same as that with a single row of jet holes or the middle row of three-row configurations when the circumferential angle of the two jet holes was larger than 30°. The attenuation coefficient distribution of the jet impingement heat transfer in the chordwise direction was so complicated that two zones were divided for a better analysis. It indicated that: the attenuation coefficient curve in the jet impingement zone exhibited an approximate upside-down bell shape with double peaks and a single valley; the attenuation coefficient curve in the non-jet impingement zone was like a half-bell shape, which was similar to that with three rows of aligned jet holes; the factors,including Rej, H/d and r/d, affected the attenuation coefficient value at the valley significantly.When r/d was increased from 30.75 to 42.03, the attenuation rates of attenuation coefficient increased only by 1.8%. Consequently, experimental data-based correlation equations of the Nusselt number for the heat transfer at the jet-impingement stagnation point and the distributionof the attenuation coefficient in the chordwise direction were acquired, which play an important role in designing the wing leading edge anti-icing system with two rows of aligned jet holes. 展开更多

Paddy field management is complicated and labor intensive.Correct row detection is important to automatically track rice rows.In this study,a novel method was proposed for accurate rice row recognition in paddy field transplanted by machine before the disappearance of row information.Firstly,Bayesian decision theory based on the minimum error was used to classify the period of collected images into three periods(T1:0-7 d;T2:7-28 d;T3:28-45 d),and resulting in the correct recognition rate was 97.03%.Moreover,secondary clustering of feature points was proposed,which can solve some problems such as row breaking and tilting.Then,the robust regression least squares method(RRLSM)for linear fitting was proposed to fit rice rows to effectively eliminate interference by outliers.Finally,a credibility analysis of connected region markers was proposed to evaluate the accuracy of fitting lines.When the threshold of credibility was set at 40%,the correct recognition rate of fitting lines was 96.32%.The result showed that the method can effectively solve the problems caused by the presence of duckweed,high-density inter-row weeds,broken rows,tilting(±60°),wind and overlap. 展开更多

Crop rows detection in maize fields remains a challenging problem due to variation in illumination and weeds interference under field conditions.This study proposed an algorithm for detecting crop rows based on adaptive multi-region of interest(multi-ROI).First,the image was segmented into crop and soil and divided into several horizontally labeled strips.Feature points were located in the first image strip and initial ROI was determined.Then,the ROI window was shifted upward.For the next image strip,the operations for the previous strip were repeated until multiple ROIs were obtained.Finally,the least square method was carried out to extract navigation lines and detection lines in multi-ROI.The detection accuracy of the method was 95.3%.The average computation time was 240.8 ms.The results suggest that the proposed method has generally favorable performance and can meet the real-time and accuracy requirements for field navigation. 展开更多

Water-driven crop simulation models are often employed to evaluate crop yields and irrigation management strategies for improving agricultural water productivity.Well-tested models can serve as powerful tools for guiding agricultural practices.The objective of this study was to assess the capability of the AquaCrop Model for simulating cotton transpiration and water use under drip irrigation conditions compared with field sap flow measurements.A two-year field experiment(2020-2021)in cotton was conducted in Xinjiang,China,including two row spacings and two topping methods.The model adequately estimated canopy cover with a normalized root mean square error(nRMSE)of less than 5%and a model efficiency(EF)close to 1.The model estimation of transpiration showed good agreement with sap flow measurements(nRMSE=22.4%)across all years and treatments.The model simulated water use efficiency(WUE)values for cotton(4.42 g m-2 mm-1)were lower than those calculated from actual measurements with WUE of 4.79 g m-2 mm-1.The estimated transpiration was slightly higher than that measured using a sap flow meter due to an 11.5%overestimation of the crop coefficient in the model when cotton grew in a short and dense canopy structure under drip irrigation and plastic film cover conditions.Air temperature,vapor pressure difference and radiation had positive effects on cotton transpiration while humidity had negative effects.The model could capture the trends of transpiration with climatic factors,but the climatic effects were stronger than those of the sap flow observation.In conclusion,the AquaCrop Model is a useful tool for optimizing cotton irrigation strategies. 展开更多

Improved yield potential is the goal of barley domestication and cultivation.During this process,two-and six-rowed barley types emerged and have been utilised in breeding and production.The six-rowed type could produce three times as many grains as its ancestral two-rowed forms,thus dominating barley cultivation for thousands of years.The deficiens form of the two-rowed type,characterised by extremely suppressed lateral spikelets,has gained dominance over the past few decades in barley-growing regions worldwide.We hypothesised that the absence of lateral spikelets in deficiens barley affects spike architecture and spike-related traits,contributing to its superior yield potential of deficiens barley cultivation.Currently,a deficiens barley variety,RGT Planet,is the most popular barley variety in the world.In this study,we used two F2 populations derived from crossing RGT Planet with two canonical two-rowed barley and identified the functional allele Vrs1.t1 associated with deficiens morphology.We observed that the Vrs1.t1 allele may contribute to high yield potential by optimising spike architecture through increased spikelet length,grain number,and grain size.Phylogenetic analysis suggests that the deficiens mutation was likely present from the early stages of barley cultivation in the Fertile Crescent and spread to Ethiopia and beyond with agricultural expansion.We conclude that the ancient deficiens allele Vrs1.t1 has been a critical driver for the recent success of modern barley improvement by optimising spike architecture. 展开更多

Substrate and nutrient supply are essential for vegetable cultivation in greenhouse.The strategies for plant nutrient supply vary depending on the cultivation methods or substrate dosages employed.With the development of mechanization,wide-row spacing substrate cultivation became an optimize mode of the greenhouse cucumber cultivation,aligning with the trend of intelligent agriculture.To determine the optimal nutrient solution supply amount(NS)and supply frequency(SF)for promoting the integrated growth of cucumber under wide-row spacing substrate cultivation,we explored the effects of substrate supply amount(SS),NS,and SF on cucumber yield,quality,and element utilization efficiency.A five-level quadratic orthogonal rotation combination design with three experimental factors(NS,SF,and SS)was implemented for 23 coupling treatments over three growing seasons,including spring(2022S and 2023S)and autumn(2022A).The technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution(TOPSIS)combining weights based on game theory was applied to construct cucumber comprehensive growth evaluation model.Single and two experimental factors analyses revealed significant effects of single factors and the coupling of NS-SS,NS-SF and SS-SF on the integrated growth of cucumber for all three growing seasons.For the NS-SF-SS combination,the optimal parameters for comprehensive cucumber growth were determined as follows:levels of-1.68 for NS,-0.7 for SF,and-1.682 for SS in 2022A;-0.43 for NS,-0.06 for SF,and 0.34 for SS in 2022S;0.3 for NS,-0.02 for SF,and 0.04 for SS in 2023S.Furthermore,for SS ranges of 2.00-3.01,3.01-4.50,4.50-5.99,5.99-7.00(L·plant-1),the corresponding NS and SF intervals maximizing cucumber integrated growth in spring were:0.28-0.30(L·plant-1)and 6(times·d-1),0.26-0.30(L·plant-1)and 6(times·d-1),0.25-0.30(L·plant-1)and 6(times·d-1),0.23-0.30(L·plant-1)and 6(times·d-1),respectively.With the same SS,the corresponding NS and SF intervals that maximized cucumber integrated growth in autumn were:0.10(L·plant-1)and 8(times·d-1),0.18(L·plant-1)and 7(times·d-1),0.30(L·plant-1)and 6(times·d-1),0.49(L·plant-1)and 5(times·d-1),respectively.The results provide a theoretical basis for solution management,and further in-depth research on cucumber cultivation. 展开更多

Sugarcane planting is an important and growing activity in Brazil.Thereupon,several techniques have been developed over the years to maximize crop productivity and profit,amongst them,processing of sugarcane field images.In this sense,this research aims to identify and analyze crop rows and measure their gaps from aerial images of sugarcane fields.For this,a small Remotely Piloted Aircraft captured the images,generating orthomosaics of the areas for analysis.Then,each orthomosaic is classified with the K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm to segment regions of interest.Planting row orientation is estimated using the RGB gradient filter.Morphological operations and computational geometry models are then used to detect and map rows and gaps along the planting row segment.To evaluate the results,crop rows are mapped and compared to manually taken measurements.Our technique obtained an error smaller than 2%when compared to gap length in crop rows from an orthomosaic with the area of 8.05 ha(ha).The proposed approach can map the positioning of the automatically generated row segments appropriately onto manually created segments.Moreover,our method also achieved similar results when confronted with a manual technique for differing growth stages(40 and 80 days after harvest)of the sugarcane crop.The proposed method presents a great potential to be adopted in sugarcane planting monitoring。 展开更多

Root-zone temperature(RZT)strongly affects plant growth,nutrient uptake and tolerance to environmental stress,making its regulation a key challenge in greenhouse cultivation in cold climates.This study aimed to assess the potential of passive techniques,namely black polyethylene mulch and row covers,for modifying RZT dynamics in lettuce(Lactuca sativa L.)production and to evaluate the predictive performance of the eXtreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost)algorithm.Experiments were conducted in Iğdır,Türkiye,over a 61-day period,with soil temperature continuously monitored at depths of 1-30 cm under mulched and non-mulched conditions,alongside measurements of greenhouse air temperature both with and without row covers.The application of row covers increased internal air temperature by 5.8℃,while mulching raised RZT by 0.6-1.3℃,with effects diminishing at deeper layers.XGBoost modeling achieved high predictive accuracy,with RMSE values of 0.150-0.189◦C and R2values above 0.99,and feature-importance analysis indicated that neighboring soil depths were the strongest predictors of RZT.These findings show that integrating row covers and mulching can stabilize the root-zone microclimate without active heating.The XGBoost model provides a robust tool for forecasting soil temperature and supports sustainable greenhouse production in cold regions. 展开更多

Climate change and extreme weather pose significant challenges to the traditional viticulture regions.Emerging high-altitude grape-producing regions with diverse orientations have shown great potential in coping with this challenge.Stable,high-quality wine grape production may be achieved by synchronizing the meso-and microclimate.To clarify the role of high altitude and row orientation in meso-and microclimate and the response of berries to it,we evaluated seven years(2012-2018)of climate data,two years of basic grape(Cabernet Sauvignon,Vitis vinifera L.)quality,and one-year microclimate from veraison to harvest.By comparing two locations(Sidon 2047 m,Sinon 2208 m)in Yunnan Province,China,we found that the average temperature has been stable at approximately 15℃ for seven years,with no extreme weather or,noticeable global warming.The light intensity(LI)in the north-south(NS)was more balanced than the east-west(EW)direction,and the east-west to the south(EW-S)canopy side was almost higher than the other sides.High LI was associated with high photosynthetically active radiation(PAR),ultraviolet(UV),and infrared(IR)light and vice versa.The north-south to the east(NS-E)and east-west to the north(EWN)sides were characterized by lower LI and higher UV and IR light,and higher total anthocyanin content.Most anthocyanin synthesis-related genes,for example,VvF3'H and VvF3'5'H,were highly expressed in NS-E from veraison to maturity.Perhaps UV and IR light induced their expression.This study provides new insights on the role of differently orientated rows in controlling grape quality due to varied light quality.The findings are globally significant,particularly in the context of climate change,and offer fresh insights into berry physiological responses and decision-making for the management of existing vineyards. 展开更多

[Objectives]To provide a reference for the promotion of appropriate row spacing configuration modes for cotton planting in the Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang.[Methods]Xinluzao 63 was employed as the research subject to examine the effects of three different configuration modes:three rows with one film,four rows with one film,and six rows with one film,on the growth and development of cotton,as well as on yield and the amount of residual film in the field.[Results]In comparison to the configuration modes of four rows with one film and six rows with one film,the development process in the row spacing configuration mode of three rows with one film was accelerated by 1-4 d.This configuration mode exhibited variability in several agronomic traits,particularly in plant height,the number of fruiting branches per plant,and the number of leaves per plant,with the observed trend indicating T3>T2>T1.Conversely,the height of the first fruiting branch node displayed an inverse trend.In terms of yield composition,no significant differences were observed in boll weight and yield among various configuration modes.However,T3 exhibited the highest boll weight at 5.68 g and a yield of 462.67 kg/667 m 2.Additionally,significant differences were noted in harvesting density and the number of bolls per plant.T3 demonstrated the lowest harvesting density at 1.11×104 plants/666.7 m 2,the highest number of bolls per plant at 8.63,and the highest boll opening rate at 97.48%.Furthermore,T3 also resulted in the least amount of agricultural film residue during the current season.[Conclusions]Among the three planting configuration modes examined,the low-density planting configuration mode consisting of three rows and one film demonstrated a significant advantage at the individual plant level.This approach yielded results comparable to those of the high density planting configuration mode while also reducing costs.Furthermore,low density planting positively influenced the cotton boll opening rate,leading to a decreased amount of residual film and promoting ecological health within the agricultural land. 展开更多

基于孪生网络的目标跟踪,存在特征信息欠丰富,跟踪效率有待提高,大型数据集上训练时间长等问题。针对上述问题,提出特征融合与训练加速的高效目标跟踪。增加主干网络参考特征层级,减小下采样,融合多层级参考特征图,提取目标更深度、丰... 基于孪生网络的目标跟踪,存在特征信息欠丰富,跟踪效率有待提高,大型数据集上训练时间长等问题。针对上述问题,提出特征融合与训练加速的高效目标跟踪。增加主干网络参考特征层级,减小下采样,融合多层级参考特征图,提取目标更深度、丰富的语义信息。深度互相关操作得到候选窗口响应(Response of Candidate Windows,RoWs),在其中构建区域建议网络(Region Proposal Network,RPN),通过权衡正负锚点的数量比,使孪生网络性能更加高效、稳定。大型数据集训练孪生网络时,使用均匀滑动漂移采样,代替随机漂移采样算法,在抑制中心偏置现象的同时,显著加快了孪生网络的训练速度。跟踪基准VOT2018上的评估实验结果表明,与所有参考的主流目标跟踪算法相比,所提算法具有最佳的跟踪性能。 展开更多

Mechanical pot-seedling transplanting is an innovatively developed transplanting method that has the potential to replace mechanical carpet-seedling transplanting. However, the initial pot-seedling transplanting machine lacked optimized density spacing and limited yield potential for japonica rice. Therefore, ascertaining the optimized density by wide-narrow rows and the appropriate transplanting method for yield formation and grain quality of japonica rice is of great importance for high-quality rice production. Field experiments were conducted using two japonica rice cultivars Nanjing 9108 and Nanjing 5055 under three transplanting methods in 2016 and 2017: mechanical pot-seedling transplanting with wide-narrow row(K, average row spacing of 30 cm);equidistant row(D, 33 cm×12 cm);and mechanical carpet-seedling transplanting(T, 30 cm×12.4 cm). In addition, five different density treatments were set in K(K1–K5, from 18.62×10~4 to 28.49×10~4 hills ha–1). The results showed that the highest yield was produced by a planting density of 26.88×104 hills ha–1 in mechanical pot-seedling transplanting with wide-narrow row with a greater number of total spikelets that resulted from significantly more panicles per area and slightly more grain number per panicle, as compared with equidistant row, and yield among density in wide-narrow row showed a parabolic trend. Compared with mechanical carpet-seedling transplanting, the treatment of the highest yield increased yield significantly, which was mainly attributed to the larger sink size with improved filled-grain percentage and grain weight, higher harvest index, and increased total dry matter accumulation, especially the larger amount accumulated from heading stage to maturity stage. With the density in wide-narrow row decreasing, processing quality, appearance quality, and nutrition quality were all improved, whereas amylose content and the taste value were decreased. Compared with mechanical carpet-seedling transplanting, mechanical pot-seedling transplanting improved processing quality and nutrition quality, but decreased amylose content and deteriorated appearance quality. These results suggested that mechanical pot-seedling transplanting with wide-narrow row coupling produced a suitable planting density of 26.88×10~4 hills ha–1 and may be an alternative approach to improving grain yield and quality for japonica rice. 展开更多

AIM: To retrospectively analyze the imaging features of solid-pseudopapillary tumors (SPTs) of the pancreas on multi-detector row computed tomography (MDCT) and define the imaging findings suggestive of malignant potential. METHODS: A total of 24 consecutive cases with surgically and pathologically confirmed SPTs of the pancreas underwent preoperative abdominal MDCT studies in our hospital. All axial CT images, CT angiographic images, and coronally and sagittally reformed images were obtained. The images were retrospectively reviewed at interactive picture archiving and communication system workstations. RESULTS: Of the 24 cases of SPTs, 11 cases (45.8%) occurred in the pancreatic head and seven (29.1%) in the tail. Eighteen were pathologically diagnosed as benign and six as malignant. MDCT diagnosis of SPTs was well correlated with the surgical and pathological results (Kappa = 0.6, P 〈 0.05). The size of SPTs ranged from 3 to 15 cm (mean, 5.8 cm). When the size of the tumor was greater than 6 cm (including 6 cm), the possibilities of vascular (8 vs 1) and capsular invasion (9 vs 0) increased significantly (P 〈 0.05).Two pathologically benign cases with vascular invasion and disrupted capsule on MDCT presented with local recurrence and hepatic metastases during follow-up about 1 year after the resection of the primary tumors. CONCLUSION: Vascular and capsular invasion with superimposed spread into the adjacent pancreatic parenchyrna and nearby structures in SPTs of the pancreas can be accurately revealed by MDCT preoperatively. These imaging findings are predictive of the malignant potential associated with the aggressive behavior of the tumor, even in the pathologically benign cases. 展开更多
