This article offers a critical overview of clay sculpture and terracotta production in ancient Khotan,the Buddhist kingdom located in the southern Tarim Basin,with particular attention to their archaeological,historic...This article offers a critical overview of clay sculpture and terracotta production in ancient Khotan,the Buddhist kingdom located in the southern Tarim Basin,with particular attention to their archaeological,historical,and artistic contexts.It examines the distinctive features of Khotanese sculptural traditions while reassessing long-standing assumptions concerning their chronology and cultural affiliations.After outlining the geographical,historical,and religious background of Khotan,the study discusses the complexities of the archaeological record,shaped by early twentieth-century explorations,undocumented acquisitions from the antiquarian market,and the fragmentary nature of surviving evidence.Special attention is devoted to Buddhist clay sculpture,its architectural setting,iconographic programmes,ritual functions,and technical characteristics.A substantial section is dedicated to the Rawak site,traditionally regarded as one of the earliest examples of Khotanese Buddhist art.Through a reassessment of its architecture,sculptural style,and broader artistic connections,the article argues that Rawak and its clay sculptures should be dated not to the 3rd-5th centuries CE,as commonly assumed,but rather to the 6th-7th centuries.The article also re-examines the corpus of Khotanese terracottas,including decorated vessels,figurines,and masks,traditionally assigned to the Kushan period.Iconographic motifs,musical instruments,costume details,and decorative patterns instead suggest a later chronology,consistent with the cultural milieu of the 6th-7th centuries CE and with wider exchanges along the Silk Road.The study concludes that the archaeological record of Khotan reflects a far more complex and dynamic artistic landscape than previously recognised.By proposing a revised chronology for major sculptural traditions and emphasising the need for renewed archaeological investigation,the article contributes to a broader understanding of Buddhist art and cultural interactions across Central Asia.展开更多

To solve this problem, a dual drive curve tool path planning method is proposed in this article. First, the maximum machining strip width of a whole tool path can be obtained through optimizing each tool position with multi-point machining (MPM) method. Second, two drive curves are then determined according to the obtained maximum machining strip width. Finally, the tool is positioned once more along the dual drive curve under the condition of tool path smoothness. A computer simulation and cutting experiments are carried out to testify the performance of the new method. The machined surface is measured with a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) to examine the machining quality. The results obtained show that this method can effectively eliminate sharp scallops between adjacent tool paths, keep tool paths smooth, and improve the surface machining quality as well as machining efficiency.展开更多
The current research of the 5-axis tool positioning algorithm mainly focuses on searching the local optimal tool position without gouging and interference at a cutter contact(CC)point,while not considering the smoothn...The current research of the 5-axis tool positioning algorithm mainly focuses on searching the local optimal tool position without gouging and interference at a cutter contact(CC)point,while not considering the smoothness and continuity of a whole tool path.When the surface curvature varies significantly,a local abrupt change of tool paths will happen.The abrupt change has a great influence on surface machining quality.In order to keep generated tool paths smooth and continuous,a five-axis tool positioning algorithm based on smooth tool paths is presented.Firstly,the inclination angle,the tilt angle and offset distance of the tool at a CC point are used as design variables,and the machining strip width is used as an objective function,an optimization model of a local tool positioning algorithm is thus established.Then,a vector equation of tool path is derived by using the above optimization model.By analyzing the equation,the main factors affecting the tool path quality are obtained.Finally,a new tool position optimization model is established,and the detailed process of tool position optimization is also given.An experiment is conducted to machine an aircraft turbine blade by using the proposed algorithm on a 5-axis blade grinding machine,and the machined blade surface is measured with a coordinate measuring machine(CMM).Experimental and measured results show that the proposed algorithm can ensure tool paths are smooth and continuous,improve the tool path quality,avoid the local abrupt change of tool paths,and enhance machining quality and machining efficiency of sculptured surfaces.展开更多

Due to the lack of machining information and the inability to adapt the parameters to the dyna...On-machine inspection has a significant impact on improving high-precision and efficient machining of sculptured surfaces. Due to the lack of machining information and the inability to adapt the parameters to the dynamic cutting conditions, theoretical modeling of profile inspection usually leads to insufficient adaptation, which causes inaccuracy problems. To address the above issues, a novel coupled model for profile inspection is proposed by combining the theoretical model and the data-driven model. The key process is to first realize local feature extraction based on the acquired vibration signals. The hybrid sampling model, which fuses geometric feature terms and vibration feature terms, is modeled by the lever principle. Then, the weight of each feature term is adaptively assigned by a multi-objective multi-verse optimizer.Finally, an inspection error compensation model based on the attention mechanism considering different probe postures is proposed to reduce the impact of pre-travel and radius errors on inspection accuracy. The anisotropy of the probe system error and its influence mechanism on the inspection accuracy are analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Compared with the previous models, the proposed hybrid profile inspection model can significantly improve the accuracy and efficiency of on-machine sampling. The proposed compensation model is able to correct the inspection errors with better accuracy. Simulations and experiments demonstrate the feasibility and validity of the proposed methods. The proposed model and corresponding new findings contribute to high-precision and efficient on-machine inspection, and help to understand the coupling mechanism of inspection errors.展开更多

The desired cutter path is computed through NCprogramming and any gouging between the cutter and the part being machined is detected and correctedautomatically. It was revealed that such STFs could act as band-reject filters with tunable Bragg regime of free space wavelengths and different bandwidth through changing the vapor incident angle during glancing angle deposition process. These Bragg filters are narrowing due to the change of vapor incident angle for circularly polarized light. Interestingly, as the vapor incident angle increased, the band-rejected filter exhibited to decrease the bandwidth and shifted in the Bragg regime, indicating that such STF nanostructures have high potential for behaving as unique polarization insensitive Bragg mirror.展开更多

The geometric information is represented with trimmed parametric patches and trimmed parametric splines. The topological information is represented with an extended half edge data structure. In the process of intersection calculation, hierarchy intersection method is applied for unified classification. Tracing the intersection curve to overcome degenerate cases that occur frequently in practice. 摘要Figurative sculpture and decorative elements belong to the same category of art;the development of sculpture art requires innovation and constant exploration of new development paths,while many characteristics of decorative elements can give the creation of sculpture works a variety of inspiration.This paper explores the significance of figurative sculpture and decorative elements,examining their intrinsic connections and historical practices.The study aims to uncover the potential of figurative sculpture in the creation of decorative elements,highlighting how the integration of these forms can contribute to the development of art and the creation of meaningful figurative sculptures.
摘要Landscape design and sculpture art have gradually integrated into each other, as sculptures are no longer limited in art galleries but adapted to various environments, and gardens are trying to make earth into a great work of art by using sculptures. The interpenetrating and tolerance of sculpture and garden has changed the appearance of environmental landscape, and led to a new era of art and design.
摘要NC machining path of sculptured surfaces in CAD/CAM system plays an important role on manufacture. This paper describes a new algorithm for 5 axis machining of sculptured surfaces and the algorithm is interference free. The approach includes: (1) the tesselation of the parametric surfaces into triangles; (2) building topological relations among triangles;(3) 5 axis tool path generation; (4) interference detection and tool position correction.
摘要We have theoretically simulated the optical properties of perturbed chiral STF (sculptured thin film) with and without defect. It was revealed that such STFs could act as band-reject filters with tunable Bragg regime of free space wavelengths and different bandwidth through changing the vapor incident angle during glancing angle deposition process. These Bragg filters are narrowing due to the change of vapor incident angle for circularly polarized light. Interestingly, as the vapor incident angle increased, the band-rejected filter exhibited to decrease the bandwidth and shifted in the Bragg regime, indicating that such STF nanostructures have high potential for behaving as unique polarization insensitive Bragg mirror.
摘要Human beings rely on natural instinct to feel the world from the beginning of life, the experience in the spatial place reveals the essential point contacting man and environment, also sublimates the relationship between man and environment. To deepen the understanding of the experience in the spatial place, we shift the origin of environmental landscape design from "design environment" to "design experience". The essence of experience is to arouse perception, such as senses, emotions, spirits, thinking, action to participate, among which "form, space, quality" as the carrier of landscape sculpture's place spirit and experience co-form a complete spatial place imagery of landscape sculpture. Place experience makes people able to experience a more detailed and richer world, these construction activities bring innovation consciousness with inner vitality, and detail the means of man observing the world while seeking a pluralistic world.
摘要To enhance the ability of current modeling system, an uniformed representation is designed to represent wire frame, solid, surface models. We present an algorithm for Boolean operation between the models under this representation. Accuracy, efficiency and robustness are the main consideration. The geometric information is represented with trimmed parametric patches and trimmed parametric splines. The topological information is represented with an extended half edge data structure. In the process of intersection calculation, hierarchy intersection method is applied for unified classification. Tracing the intersection curve to overcome degenerate cases that occur frequently in practice. The algorithm has been implemented as the modeling kernel of a feature based modeling system named GS CAD98, which was developed on Windows/NT platform.

摘要For the purposes of Chinese Contemporary Sculpture, what we should see are the real cultural connotation and its cultural background behind it, rather than just comparing Chinese sculpture to Western art. It can be seen as a driving force in enlarging the influence of traditional culture. At the same time, it will make our contemporary sculptures have more long-term career developments and advancements. Therefore, we should find that our culture is able to be enjoyed by all over the world, because it has a huge difference to west culture. As the descendants of our nation, we should inherit our great culture and flourish it .This is not simply a display of traditional cultural symbols, it also gives us the possibility to understand humanistic ideas of understanding and recycling. Works not only brought out the beauty of the material, but also delivered a serene classical mood.
摘要By analyzing the role of public art in the construction and development of urban landscape, the concept of public art and its regional meaning are analyzed, the relation between public art and city sculpture is explained, it is pointed out that city sculpture could enhance the landscape of urban space and enrich public art. The functions of city sculpture are expounded in details, including guiding spatial communication, creating the sociality of humanistic environment, and communicating space with human. With the design of city sculpture at the entrance of Xiasi County in Southeast part of Guizhou Province for example, its location and status are analyzed, highlighting its special location advantages as well as the historical business climate, the sculpture integrates the ancient corn which represents commercial culture with butterfly which embodies the totem of Miao nationalities in Southeast Guizhou Province, therefore brings both the visual impact and culture features. Here the significance of regional city sculpture is summarized, it is emphasized that the city sculpture is the material carrier of city culture, the cultural source of original design elements and the concrete manifestation of regional spirit.
