Parkinson’s disease(PD),one of whose symptoms is dysphonia,is a prevalent neurodegenerative disease.The use of outdated diagnosis techniques,which yield inaccurate and unreliable results,continues to represent an obstacle in early-stage detection and diagnosis for clinical professionals in the medical field.To solve this issue,the study proposes using machine learning and deep learning models to analyze processed speech signals of patients’voice recordings.Datasets of these processed speech signals were obtained and experimented on by random forest and logistic regression classifiers.Results were highly successful,with 90%accuracy produced by the random forest classifier and 81.5%by the logistic regression classifier.Furthermore,a deep neural network was implemented to investigate if such variation in method could add to the findings.It proved to be effective,as the neural network yielded an accuracy of nearly 92%.Such results suggest that it is possible to accurately diagnose early-stage PD through merely testing patients’voices.This research calls for a revolutionary diagnostic approach in decision support systems,and is the first step in a market-wide implementation of healthcare software dedicated to the aid of clinicians in early diagnosis of PD. 展开更多

Recent studies in oncology have addressed the importance of detecting circulating tumor cell clusters because circulating tumor cell clusters might survive and metastasize more easily than single circulating tumor cells.Signals with larger peak widths detected by in vivo flow cytometer(IVFC)have been used to identify cell clusters in previous studies.However,the accuracy of this criterion might be greatly degraded by variance in blood°ow and the rolling behaviors of circulating tumor cells.Here,we propose a criterion and algorithm to distinguish cell clusters from single cells.In this work,we first used area-based and volume-based models for single°uorescent cells.Simulating each model,we analyzed the corresponding morphology of IVFC signals from cell clusters.According to the Rayleigh criterion,the valley between two adjacent peak signals from two distinguishable cells should be lower than 73.5%of the peak values.A novel signal processing algorithm for IVFC was developed based on this criterion.The results showed that cell clusters can be reliably identied using our proposed algorithm.Intravital imaging was also performed to further support our algorithm.With enhanced accuracy,IVFC is a powerful tool to study circulating cell clusters. 展开更多

It is seriously interfered by ship noise when analyzing and extracting broadband spark sound source signal. In the energy concentrated domain which is below 5 kHz, the traditional scale correlation filtering algorithm, which is based on adjacent-scale correlation, has limited anti-interference ability due to the low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and similar Lipschitz exponent characteristic of each other. However, because different frequency bands of the broadband electric spark signal have different noise interferences, the filtering algorithm based on adjacent-scale correlation is adapted to high SNR and small-scale high-frequency wavelet coefficients filtering; the filtering algorithm based on cross-scale correlation is adapted to low SNR and large-scale low-frequency wavelet coefficients filtering, and the threshold coefficient selection method had been corrected in the algorithm. It is shown that the filtering algorithm has a good filtering effect and extracts the broadband spark sound source signal effectively; it is applicable to broadband underwater acoustic signM processing in the presence of narrow-band strong interference background noise. 展开更多

This work investigates the direction-of-arrival(DOA) estimation for a uniform circular acoustic Vector-Sensor Array(UCAVSA) mounted around a cylindrical baffle.The total pressure field and the total particle velocity field near the surface of the cylindrical baffle are analyzed theoretically by applying the method of spatial Fourier transform.Then the so-called modal vector-sensor array signal processing algorithm,which is based on the decomposed wavefield representations,for the UCAVSA mounted around the cylindrical baffle is proposed.Simulation and experimental results show that the UCAVSA mounted around the cylindrical baffle has distinct advantages over the same manifold of traditional uniform circular pressure-sensor array(UCPSA).It is pointed out that the acoustic Vector-Sensor(AVS) could be used under the condition of the cylindrical baffle and that the UCAVSA mounted around the cylindrical baffle could also combine the anti-noise performance of the AVS with spatial resolution performance of array system by means of modal vector-sensor array signal processing algorithms. 展开更多
