Cerium-doped SiO2/TiO2 nanostructured fibers were fabricated by electrospinning technology. The prepared fibers were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Using the fibers as catalysts, photoeatalytic degradation of Methylene Blue (MB) aqueous solution was carded out under simulated sunlight. The 0.2% Ce doping proved to be the optimal concentration for the doping of TiO2/SiO2, compared to other Ce-doped molar concentrations. The 0.2% Ce-doped SiOdTiO2 fibers exhibited higher photocatalytic activity than industrial Degussa P25 and the samples doped with only Ce or SIO2. The reasons for improving the photocatalytic activity were also discussed. Several operational parameters were studied, which showed that the photocatalytic efficiency of MB was influenced by parameters such as the initial dye concentration, the initial pH, inorganic anions, and so on. In addition, the influences of an electron acceptor and a radical scavenger suggested that OH was the dominant photooxidant during the photocatalytic process. The reuse evaluation of the fibers indicated that their photocatalytic activity had good stability. 展开更多

Zr-doped-TiO2 loaded glass fiber(ZT/GF) composite photocatalysts with different Zr/Ti ratios were prepared with a sol–gel process. Zr4+can replace Ti4+in the TiO2 lattice, which is conducive to forming the anatase phase and reducing the calcination temperature. The glass fiber carrier was responsible for better dispersion and loading of Zr-doped-TiO2 particles, improving the applicability of the Zr-doped-TiO2. The ZT/GF photocatalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscope(SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy(UV–vis) and Barrett–Joyner–Halenda(BJH). The performance of photocatalysts with different loading was evaluated in formaldehyde degradation under visible light at room temperature. ZT/GF0.2exhibited the highest activity, with a formaldehyde removal rate as high as 95.14% being observed, which is better than that of the photocatalyst particles alone. The stability of the catalyst was also tested, and ZT/GF exhibited excellent catalytic performance with 94.38%removal efficiency, even after seven uses. 展开更多

A series of Ce, H3PW12O40 co-doped TiO2 hollow fibers photocatalysts have been prepared by sol-gel method using ammonium ceric nitrate, H3PW12O40 and tetrabutyltitanate as precursors and cotton fibers as template, followed by calcination at 500 ℃ in N2 atmosphere for 2 h. Scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption-desorption mea- surements, and UV-Vis spectroscopy are employed to characterize the morphology, crystal structure, surface structure, and optical absorption properties of the samples. The photo- catalytic performance of the samples has been studied by photodegradation phenol in water under UV and visible light irradiation. The results show that the TiO2 fiber materials have hollow structures, and the co-doped TiO2 hollow fibers exhibit higher photocatalytic activities for the degradation of phenol than un-doped, single-doped TiO2 hollow fibers under UV and visible light. In addition, the recyclability of co-doped TiO2 fibers is also confirmed that the TiO2 fiber retains ca. 90% of its activity after being used four times. It is shown that the co-doped TiO2 fibers can be activated by visible light and may be potentially applied to the treatment of water contaminated by organic pollutants. The synergistic effect of Ce and H3PW12O40 co-doping plays an important role in improving the photocatalytic activity. 展开更多

A novel three-dimensional photocatalyst, TiO2 particulate film immobilized on activated carbon fibers (TiOE/ACFs), was prepared by liquid phase deposition. The photocatalyst was characterized by SEM, XRD, BET surface area and photodegradation of methylene blue solution. TiO2 particulate film, with a thickness of nearly 200 nm and grain sizes of 30-50 nm, was deposited on almost each carbon fiber. The inner space between adjacent fibers remained as unmodified ACFs, therefore, both UV illumination and polluted solutions were allowed to pass through the felt-form photocatalyst to form a three-dimensional environment for photocatalytic reactions. With BET surface areas of 400-600 m^2/g, the TiOE/ACFs exhibited an enhanced adsorption of pollutants for photocatalysis. Comparative degradations indicated that photocatalytic activity of the TiOE/ACFs was slightly higher than that of Degussa P-25 TiO2. Two special properties, the three-dimensional structure and combined effects of ACFs' adsorption and titania's photodegradation, made contribution to high photocatalytic activity. TiO_2 nanoparticles coated cotton fiber composite was successfully prepared by using a sol-gel method at low temperature(about 100℃) using tetrabutyl-titanate [Ti(OBu)_4] as raw material.The preparation of the TiO_2 colloid and the composite were described.The properties of resulting materials were characterized by SEM and XRD,the photocatalytic degradation performance was tested using methylene blue(MB) as the target pollutant in aqueous solution.The results showed that the amorphous TiO_2 nanoparticles were distributed evenly on the outer surfaces of cotton fibers,which shows efficient photocatalytic properties when exposed to UV light,the degradation rate of MB reached 95.35% under the conditions of catalyst dosage 2.5 g/L,MB concentration 50 mg/L,irradiation time 120 min,and pH 10,and the photocatalytic activity of TiO_2/cotton fibers remained above 90% of its activity as-prepared after being used four times,the degradation rate of MB could reach 88.78% when irradiation time was 120 min.The photocatalytic degradation of MB could be properly described by the first-order kinetic law.By comparison of the removal rates of MB with and without UV light,it could be affirmed that the disappearance of MB was due to photodegradation rather than adsorption on cotton fibers. 展开更多

Silica( SiO_2) based aerogel/xerogel materials have been received ever-growing attentions for versatile applications. However,the widespread applications are narrowed by the inert properties,fragile and brittle natureof silica materials and cumbersome preparation processes. In this paper,titania( TiO_2) was introduced into SiO_2 matrix to form photocatalytic hybrid gels. The TiO_2/SiO_2 composites were then reinforced by the impregnation of various fibrillary reinforcements,such as glass,mullite mineral and ceramic fibers. The properties of the composites were studied systematically in terms of fiberstability,microstructure,chemical interaction and thermal conductivity. The final xerogel composites displayed improved monolithic geometry,satisfied thermal conductivity(0. 09-0. 25 W·m-1·K-1) and optimized photocatalytic performance(85% removal of model pollutant of methyl orange( Mo)),which could be expected to be a feasible route to multi-functional building facades in the future. 展开更多

The hierarchical nanostructured N-doped TiO2 immobilized activated carbon fiber(N-TiO2/ACF)porous composites are fabricated to removal dynamic toluene gas.The results show that nitrogen ions doping and ACF modification can decrease the band gap of TiO2,leading to red shift toward visible light region.Interestingly,N-TiO2/ACF exhibits strongly synergistic effect owing to high surface area,good crystallinity,enhanced bandgap structure and light harvesting.The toluene removal rate of N-TiO2/ACF composites is 2.29 times higher than that of TiO2.The N-TiO2/ACF for toluene degradation followed the Langmuir-Hinshelwood kinetic model,and the rate constant is enhanced 8 times compared with TiO2.The possible photodegradation pathway and mechanisms are proposed. 展开更多

The side-glowing optical fibers (SOFs) were chosen as the conducting medium of endogenous light; and 20 mg·L-1 methylene blue was chosen as the target to be degraded. The SOF is made up of quartz core with a silicon cladding, which can emit light through side surface more uniformly and transmit light for longer distance to avoid attenuation of light by liquid medium. The filament lamp was chosen as visible light source. Different reaction conditions, such as the presence of optical fiber or not, the quantity of SOF, light irradiation intensity were tested by measuring the methylene blue degradation of methylene blue. The results show that suitable reaction conditions were 1.167 g·L-1 Ag + /TiO 2 with 7% (by mass) of Ag + doped in TiO 2 , and 500 roots of SOF (30 cm length in solution). The photocatalytic degradation efficiency under 300W lamp irradiation for 8h was about 97%. And the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of methylene blue degradation was proportional to SOF quantity, light irradiation intensity and catalytic dosage within a certain range. Compared with general UV and visible light SOFs could save a huge amount of energy and cost, in the potential applications in dealing with organic pollutants on a large scale. 展开更多

TiO2 thin films and nanopowders were prepared by adding H3BO3 into (NH4)2TiF6 solution supersaturated with anatase nano-crystalline TiO2 at 40 ℃. The effects of the deposition conditions on the surface morphology, section morphology, thickness of the deposited TiO2 thin films were investigated. The results indicate that the growth rate and particle size of the thin films were controlled by both the deposition conditions and the amount of anatase nano-crystalline TiO2. 展开更多

Polysulfonamide/ZnO nanocomposite was prepared by in-situ polymerization. Some studies and characterization of Polysulfonamide/ Zinc oxide nanocomposite with ZnO 0.5% have been done. It includes ηr,, Crystal degree and thermal property. Experiment's results showed that, ZnO as filler can improve crystal degree of polysulfonamide fiber. The crystal degree has been bnproved, from lower than 20% up to 27%. ηr of polysulfonamide/ Zinc oxide nanocomposite solution with ZnO 0.5% is 2.03. The maxinum weight loss of the nanocomposite occurred at 453.5 ℃. 展开更多

This study focused on the development and characterization of TiO2-PES composite fibers with varying TiO2 loading amounts using a phase inversion process. The resulting composite fibers exhibited a sponge-like structure with embedded TiO2 nanoparticles within a polymer matrix. Their photocatalytic performance for ammonia removal from aqueous solutions under UV-A light exposure was thoroughly investigated. The findings revealed that PeTi8 composite fibers displayed superior adsorption capacity compared to other samples. Moreover, the study explored the impact of pH, light intensity, and catalyst dosage on the photocatalytic degradation of ammonia. Adsorption equilibrium isotherms closely followed the Langmuir model, with the results indicating a correlation between qm values of 2.49 mg/g and the porous structure of the adsorbents. The research underscored the efficacy of TiO2 composite fibers in the photocatalytic removal of aqueous under  UV-A light. Notably, increasing the distance between the photocatalyst and the light source resulted in de-creased hydroxyl radical concentration, influencing photocatalytic efficiency. These findings contribute to our understanding of TiO2 composite fibers as promising photocatalysts for ammonia removal in water treatment applications. 展开更多

TiO2-loaded activated carbon fibers (ACF) were prepared by a hydrothermal method. The samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometry and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS). SEM images showed that the TiO2 nanoparticles were deposited on the surface of ACF, and the particle size and loading amount of TiO2 were varied by changing the initial concentration of tetrabutyl titanate (TBOT). The results of an ash experiment showed that the loading amounts of TiO2 were 18.4%, 43.3%, 52.5%, 75.1%, and 91.1% for initial concentrations of TBOT of 0.07,014, 0.21,0.28, and 0.35 tool/L, respectively, Physical interactions played an important role in the formation of TiO2/ACF composite fibers that absorb UV and visible light. Compared with those of ACF, improved adsorption and photocatalytic activity toward Rhodamine B (RhB) were observed for TiO2/ACF composite fiber. The Rhodamine B could be removed efficiently by TiO2/ACF composite fibers, and the TiO2 loading amount had a significant effect on the photocatalytic activity of TiO2/ACF composite fibers. 展开更多

超疏水超亲油材料因其在油水分离等领域有广泛的应用前景而引起人们极大关注。目前,有很多方法可以用来制备超疏水超亲油材料,但因其过程复杂、成本高、环境适应性差限制了其在实际生产、生活中应用。本文以玉米秸秆为原料,经TiO 2溶胶... 超疏水超亲油材料因其在油水分离等领域有广泛的应用前景而引起人们极大关注。目前,有很多方法可以用来制备超疏水超亲油材料,但因其过程复杂、成本高、环境适应性差限制了其在实际生产、生活中应用。本文以玉米秸秆为原料,经TiO 2溶胶浸涂并经辛基三甲氧基硅烷修饰后显示出超疏水和超亲油,水滴、油滴在其表面的接触角分别为160°和0°。研究结果显示,玉米秸秆粉表面的超疏水性源于其表面微纳米复合阶层结构及低表面能化学组成的协同作用。利用玉米秸秆粉表面的憎水性和亲油性,能将其用于水面油污的吸附和分离,具有分离效率高、稳定性好、可循环利用的优点。相比于其它材料,以玉米秸秆为原料制备超疏水超亲油的油污吸附剂,原料丰富、成本低、过程简单、易降解、可循环利用,有望在生产、生活中得到应用。 展开更多

以胶原为模板剂、硫酸钛为钛源、硝酸钆为掺杂源制备了钆掺杂纤维结构TiO_2(Gd-TiO_2)。通过扫描电镜(SEM)、X射线衍射仪(XRD)、紫外可见漫反射光谱(UV-Vis-DRS)、X射线光电子能谱(XPS)对样品的表面形貌、晶相组成、紫外吸收带、元素组... 以胶原为模板剂、硫酸钛为钛源、硝酸钆为掺杂源制备了钆掺杂纤维结构TiO_2(Gd-TiO_2)。通过扫描电镜(SEM)、X射线衍射仪(XRD)、紫外可见漫反射光谱(UV-Vis-DRS)、X射线光电子能谱(XPS)对样品的表面形貌、晶相组成、紫外吸收带、元素组成及化合价态进行了分析。以甲基橙为目标降解物,研究了样品的光催化性能并确定钆的最佳掺杂量。结果表明:600℃煅烧温度下2%Gd-TiO_2纤维结构完好、光催化效果最好,光反应30 min后其降解率达到91. 89%,比起未掺杂试样大大提高。钆掺杂会改变TiO_2的晶粒尺寸并能够抑制TiO_2从锐钛矿相向金红石相转变,掺杂后紫外吸收带发生蓝移。 展开更多
