Three-dimensional(3D)covalent organic frameworks(COFs)have attracted extensive attention as photocatalysts for CO2reduction reactions.Introducing metal atoms is essential for enhancing activity,but previous metal sites in 3D COFs predominantly exhibit symmetrical coordination,making them unsuitable for CO2activation.Here,we design a 3D COF with 2,2'-pyridine linked around tetra-(4-anilyl)methane(TCM-Bpy-COF),where Co2+is asymmetrically coordinated by bipyridine and acetates(TCMBpy-COF-CoAc).The TCM-Bpy-COF-CoAc exhibits outstanding photocatalytic CO2reduction performance under weak visible light,achieving a CO evolution rate of 26,650μmol g-1h-1under 5 W of lightemitting-diode(LED)lamp and high apparent quantum efficiency.The performance far exceeds that of symmetrically coordinated bipyridine-Co-bipyridine TCM-Bpy-COF and surpasses most reported COF-based photocatalysts.In-situ spectral characterizations and theoretical calculations show that asymmetric N,O-coordination around the Co2+center polarizes electron density and lowers reaction energy barriers of*COOH intermediates,enhancing the conversion of CO2to CO.This work inspires the design of 3D COF-based photocatalysts with highly catalytic efficiency. 展开更多

Nobel Prize winner Doris Lessing is a renowned writer in the contemporary British literary scene.Her debut novel The Grass is Singing is based on a case in which a black manservant kills a white mistress who is poor and mentally unbalanced.Doris Lessing arranges a tangible form of perception for the expression of the colonial discourse in the work by seeking the relationship between spatial structure and the writer’s value.This paper focuses on the spatial writing in The Grass is Singing and analyses it in depth with reference to the spatial critical theories of Henri Lefebvre and Michel Foucault.The oppressed and enslaved characters in the novel are analysed from three perspectives:physical space,social space and mental space respectively to explore how power oppression is made visible through space and the writer’s critique of colonial relations and racial discrimination as well as unequal gender relations. 展开更多

This paper examines the disease writing in Jesmyn Ward’s Sing,Unburied,Sing,focusing on its metaphorical implications at three levels.Through an analysis of three central diseases-Mam’s cancer,Leonie’s drug addiction,and Kayla’s fever and vomiting,this study reveals how Ward employs illness as a lens to critique systemic racism,social injustice,and intergenerational trauma in the American South.Mam’s cancer symbolizes emotional repression and historical wounds inflicted upon Black Americans,while Leonie’s addiction reflects both personal escapism and the destructive consequences of racial and social marginalization.Kayla’s symptoms,along with other people’s symtom of vomiting,serve as visceral expressions of psychological rejection and resistance to oppression.Drawing on Sontag’s theories of illness as metaphor,the paper argues that Ward’s disease narratives transcend individual suffering,exposing the pervasive“diseases”of racism and inequality in society.The novel’s portrayal of illness underscores the resilience of Black communities and the urgent need for collective healing from cultural trauma. 展开更多

From the perspective of the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage,this study explores practical strategies for integrating local opera singing styles into the cultivation of preschool music literacy.After literature research,field investigation,and teaching practice,it analyzes the application value of the artistic features of local opera singing styles in preschool education and seeks effective methods for integrating them into music education in kindergartens.Research shows that local opera singing styles are rich in cultural connotations and artistic charm,and have unique advantages in cultivating children’s musical literacy.Therefore,integrating them into preschool music education is beneficial to children’s understanding of traditional culture,the development of musical abilities,and the cultivation of aesthetic tastes.This study proposes the following practical strategies:Select suitable opera segments for young children and design interesting teaching activities;use multimedia technology to create vivid and interesting learning scenarios;organize opera experience activities to bring children closer to traditional culture;and conduct teacher training to enhance their knowledge of opera and teaching abilities.This research result has certain theoretical and practical significance for promoting local operas into kindergartens,facilitating the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage,and innovating preschool music education. 展开更多

Fe single-atom catalysts(Fe-SACs)have been extensively studied as a highly efficient electrocatalyst toward the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).Nonetheless,they suffer from stability issue induced by dissolution of Fe metal center and the OH−blocking.Herein,a surface molecular engineering strategy is developed by usingβ-cyclodextrins(CDs)as a localized molecular encapsulation.The CD-modified Fe-SAC(Fe-SNC-β-CD)shows obviously improved activity toward the ORR with 0.90 V,4.10 and 4.09 mA cm-2for E1/2,J0and Jk0.9,respectively.Meanwhile,the Fe-SNC-β-CD shows the excellent long-term stability against aggressive stress and the poisoning.It is confirmed through electrochemical investigation that modification ofβ-CD can,on one hand,regulate the atomic Fe coordination chemistry through the interaction between the CD and FeNx moiety,while on the other mitigate the strong adsorption of OH−and function as protective barrier against the poisoning molecules leading to enhanced ORR activity and stability for the Fe-SACs.The molecular encapsulation strategy demonstrates the uniqueness of post-pyrolysis surface molecular engineering for the design of single-atom catalyst. 展开更多

Complex 1 is a 2-dimensional(2 D) 3,4-connected network with 3,4 L13 topology, complex 2 features a 3-dimensional(3D) 3,4-connected tfa topology with a 2-fold interpenetrating structure and complex 3 has a 3D 4-connected dia topology with a 4-fold interpenetrating structure. Interestingly, 2 exhibits permanent pores and selective adsorption of CO_2 over CH_4. The Singing Sand Mountain and Crescent Spring Scenic Spot in Dunhuang,Northwest China is a world-renowned desert attraction that is also an integral component of the Dunhuang UNESCO Global Geopark.This scenic area underwent a 30-year transformation,i.e.,from a severe sand risk with spring water threatened by sand burial due to dune deformation,to restoration of the original sand flow field and mitigation of the sand burial problem.The current paper summarizes the research on the intensive monitoring of the dynamic change of star dunes near the spring,observation of wind and sand flow movement,and then restoring the harmonic vibration of the sand particles(singing sand)that were previously silenced.The existing and prospective impacts of anthropogenic and natural forces on the deformation of the sand dunes are investigated by integrated methods,guiding the implementation of mitigating measures with significant ameliorative effects.Contrast to common sand control practices that aim to reduce wind speed and stop blown sands,our research highlights the importance of maintaining the natural wind flow field in stabilizing surrounding dunes.These mitigation measures consist of removing excessive vegetation and newly constructed buildings to recover the original wind flow field and sand transport activity.Such research and mitigation efforts ensure the scientific protection and restoration of the special desert landform,and contribute to the mutual enhancement of the conservation and exploitation of this desert scenic spot and similar sites. 展开更多

In this paper, the stationarity of propeller singing signal is tested by the recurrence plot technique. According to surrogate data, the singing time series has nonlinearity character. And the nonlinearity of time series is not caused by the static nonlinear measurement function but the intrinsic character itself based on further research. The search for common characteristics between the musical abilities of humans and other animal species is still taking its frst steps.One of the most promising aspects from a comparative point of view is the analysis of rhythmic components,which are crucial features of human communicative performance but also well-identifable patterns in the vocal displays of other species.Therefore,the study of rhythm is becoming essential to understand the mechanisms of singing behavior and the evolution of human communication.Recent fndings provided evidence that particular rhythmic structures occur in human music and some singing animal species,such as birds and rock hyraxes,but only 2 species of nonhuman primates have been investigated so far(Indri indri and Hylobates lar).Therefore,our study aims to consistently broaden the list of species studied regarding the presence of rhythmic categories.We investigated the temporal organization in the singing of 3 species of crested gibbons(Nomascus gabriellae,Nomascus leucogenys,and Nomascus siki)and found that the most prominent rhythmic category was isochrony.Moreover,we found slight variation in songs’tempo among species,with N.gabriellae and N.siki singing with a temporal pattern involving a gradually increasing tempo(a musical accelerando),and N.leucogenys with a more regular pattern.Here,we show how the prominence of a peak at the isochrony establishes itself as a shared characteristic in the small apes considered so far. 展开更多

This paper presents the results of the analysis of the vibrato parameter in the singing. The well-known fact is the existence of vibrato of sufficient quality in the voices of professional singers. The authors focus here on the choral voices to assess the quality of their singing from the point of view of the vibrato parameter. The method presented here is developed to evaluate the vibrato while singing under conditions close to the real ones. The study was carried out on the recordings of the members of an academic choir. As a result of tests it was found that not all singers present the same quality of vibrato in terms of deviation of vibrato confidence （STDCV）. 展开更多

The potential use of sound and vibration for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes remains largely under-explored and under-estimated.Sound and vibrational energy has great positive impact on the mind and body.It could be particularly useful for psychosomatic diseases as a complementary therapy.Singing bowls,the spiritual ancient therapy has been claimed to aid in mind relaxation and painful and inflammatory conditions.Childhood asthma is an inflammatory airway disease and a psychosomatic disorder.The psychological management in it is often neglected leading to under-treatment or a relapse.Hence,we hypothesized that sound therapy with singing bowls might be useful as complementary therapy in management of childhood asthma.We aimed to study the effect of singing bowl session on child’s asthma severity and control and on the psychological well-being.Children<18 years of age and suffering from childhood asthma were recruited after informed written consent of parents.At the baseline,demographic and clinical details were noted.Anthropometric parameters,PEFR readings,asthma severity,parental and child’s subjective feeling of well-being,asthma control score,and pediatric symptom checklist score(based on age)were determined.The child was given 15 min of singing bowl session as per the set protocol.The subjective and objective evaluation of asthma control and psychological assessment was repeated at 1 month and 3 months follow-up and compared with the baseline results for clinical significance.Eighteen children formed the study group with a mean age of 9.13±2.15 years(range 2–15.25 years).4 children had psychological issues on initial screening.There was a significant improvement in asthma severity,subjective feeling of well-being and asthma control score at 3 months(p<0.05).Singing bowl therapy could be a useful,low-cost complementary therapy in childhood asthmatics. 展开更多

Thirty female volunteers with age between 20 and 45 years old were kindly invited to use the cosmetic product on the inner side of their crank arm for a testing period of 8 weeks continuously. Values of MI, L＊ and ITA° of the skin were measured and the results display signifcant difference （ P〈0. 05） before and after the 8 weeks testing period. Duncan multiple comparisons showed that the whitening effcacy of cosmetic product formulated with the extract from Tricholoma matsutake Sing is signifcantly greater than that of the formulation matrix and equivalent with that of ascorbyl ethyl ether. Via the data collection and statistical analysis, this method can directly refect the whitening effect of active additives in cosmetics, and it is suitable for the evaluation of the whitening effcacy of cosmetics with additives. 展开更多

Polysaccharides of Tricholoma matsutake Sing. were extracted with boilingwater, followed by precipitating with ethanol. Two membranes of different molecular weight cut-off, namely, 30 kD and 10 kD were chosen with ultrafiltration. The antioxidant activity of the purification polysaccharides was evaluated by various antioxidant assay, including DPPH （l,l-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl） radical scavenging, superoxide anion radical scavenging and hydrogen peroxide scavenging. The scavenging effect on hydroxyl radical and DPPH radical, which may be comparable to Vitamin C, while the scavenging effect on superoxide anion radicals was not obvious. 展开更多

This paper aims at critiquing Katie's language in the famous film, Mockingbird Don't Sing, which is a 2001 American independent film based on the true story of Genie, a modern-day feral child, discovered in California in 1970. The analyses of Katie's language are based on Katie's language by the stimulation of some people around her after she escaped from her home according to the theories of the interactionist position, Behaviorism, the affective filter hypothesis, Innatism, the stages of language development and the critical period hypothesis. Katie's abnormal language bitterly proves the importance of critical period for language acquisition and language learning. 展开更多
