Many tests have been conducted over the years in Milan on moderately-thick concrete slabs—with diameter-to-thickness ratios of 5 and 5.5—either reinforced or unreinforced,all subjected to punching,with different mixes,reinforcement technologies,and loading procedures.Their results are revisited systematically in this paper,starting from a thorough review of the literature on moderately thick concrete slabs.The specimens were either square(but fastened to a circular support)or circular.In three experimental campaigns,99 specimens were tested:50 under quasi-static loading(including 16 exposed to high temperatures)and 49 under impulsive loading.The first campaign investigated concrete slabs reinforced with polyacrylonitrile fibers,steel fibers,or steel nets,focusing on their deformed shapes and failure modes under quasi-static punching.The second campaign examined the effects of high temperatures on unreinforced and net-reinforced slabs subjected to quasi-static punching,while the third campaign focused on the failure modes and energy issues of fiber-reinforced slabs under impulsive punching.Polyacrylonitrile fibers increase punching resistance under impact,but change the failure mode from mixed(bending+punching)to pure punching.Steel nets increase slab ductility more than steel fibers,while high temperatures promote a shift from bending-controlled to shear-controlled failure modes.The main contributions of the test results are:(a)the varying degree of softening in the slab’s response to punching due to the formation of either small or large punching cones;(b)the reduction in bearing capacity with increasing temperature,which occurs more in net-reinforced than in fiber-reinforced slabs;and(c)the different contributions to the total dissipated energy under impact,resulting from the formation of bending-related cracks and of the punching cone.Overall,this work aims to highlight general trends in slab behavior under punching loads in different conditions,using highly idealized tests(as often done in labs),that provide a basic representation of actual punching scenarios. 展开更多

In this study,a mosquito population suppression model that integrates stage structure is introduced,which serves as the foundation for exploring various strategies for the periodic impulsive release of sterile mosquitoes,including those that either incorporate or disregard population state feedback,as well as a composite control approach.We identify release thresholds under different strategies that ensure the complete eradication of the wild mosquito population.Numerical analyses are conducted to evaluate the performance of these release strategies.Our findings reveal that integrating state feedback mechanisms can effectively prevent the blindness of release behaviors.Key factors such as the release interval,frequency of population assessments,and control intensity significantly influence the reduction of the cumulative release quantity of sterile mosquitoes,the shortening of control duration,and the decrease in effective release events.The influence of these factors on control outcomes across different strategies and scenarios is also examined. 展开更多

An event-triggered impulsive control(ETIC)approach has attracted considerable attention in both theoretical and practical fields,as it ensures that control resources are deployed solely at moments of strict necessity,thereby significantly reducing the control frequency without compromising system performance.This survey aims to provide a timely,structured,and in-depth overview of recent advances in ETIC.First,a brief introduction of impulsive control and ETIC is given,analysing the advantages of ETIC over the traditional time-triggered impulsive control.Second,the representative results and methodologies reported in ETIC are generally classified from the perspective of structural characteristics of event-triggering mechanisms(ETMs),and the fundamental principles underlying each type of ETM are elaborated in detail.Third,the common methods used to exclude the Zeno behavior in recent ETIC results are presented in detail.Then,an in-depth analysis is made on several categories of theoretical results on the stability problem based on ETIC.Fourth,applications of ETIC in practical scenarios,including motor servo systems,chemical reactor systems,and wheeled robots,are provided.Finally,some challenging issues on ETIC are proposed to guide future research. 展开更多

This paper proposes a gain-based neural secure protection(GBNSP)control scheme for feedforward nonlinear systems subject to unknown control coefficients and impulsive false data injection(FDI)attacks.Notably,the nonlinear functions of the systems are relaxed to any continuous functions and the control coefficients are permitted to be constants with both unknown sizes and signs,a scenario not covered in existing works.Furthermore,the uncertain abrupt changes in system states caused by impulsive FDI attacks inevitably exacerbate the challenges in control design.To this end,this paper integrates the neural network technique and the gain control method to propose a novel GBNSP control scheme.Specifically,the neural network technique effectively compensates for strong nonlinearities and uncertainties,while the gain control method quantifies the tolerable frequency of impulsive FDI attacks and avoids the tedious design procedures.It is shown that,under the designed GBNSP controller,all closed-loop signals remain bounded and the system states eventually converge to an adjustable neighborhood near the origin.Moreover,an enhanced GBNSP control scheme incorporates an improved gain scaling mechanism to withstand unknown external disturbances.In the end,the effectiveness and practicality of the proposed scheme are validated by a theoretical example and a practical example. 展开更多

The multi-body dynamics in the launch process of a space platform deploying a server,as well as the optimal double impulse rendezvous guidance law between the server and the target spacecraft,are studied.Firstly,the space platform enters into orbit around the target,keeping its launch tube axis aiming at it.After receiving the launch command,the server shoots out from the launch tube,flying to the target.Due to body coupling,the platform’s attitude is disturbed,preventing the server from accurately aiming at the target during separation.The server uses its small rocket engine to apply two velocity pulses:the first one to adjust its trajectory for rendezvous,and the second near the target to reduce relative velocity to zero for soft docking.A two-body dynamics model is established using the Newton-Euler method,and a virtual prototype is developed in ADAMS for validation.To solve the multi-objective optimization subject to energy consumption and flight time for rendezvous,an improved non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II(NSGA-II)algorithm is proposed.Simulation results show that launch-induced perturbations are non-negligible,and the proposed algorithm effectively derives the optimal guidance law that balances energy use and flight time. 展开更多

This paper proposes a novel impulsive thrust strategy guided by optimal continuous thrust strategy to address two-player orbital pursuit-evasion game under impulsive thrust control.The strategy seeks to enhance the interpretability of impulsive thrust strategy by integrating it within the framework of differential game in traditional continuous systems.First,this paper introduces an impulse-like constraint,with periodical changes in thrust amplitude,to characterize the impulsive thrust control.Then,the game with the impulse-like constraint is converted into the two-point boundary value problem,which is solved by the combined shooting and deep learning method proposed in this paper.Deep learning and numerical optimization are employed to obtain the guesses for unknown terminal adjoint variables and the game terminal time.Subsequently,the accurate values are solved by the shooting method to yield the optimal continuous thrust strategy with the impulse-like constraint.Finally,the shooting method is iteratively employed at each impulse decision moment to derive the impulsive thrust strategy guided by the optimal continuous thrust strategy.Numerical examples demonstrate the convergence of the combined shooting and deep learning method,even if the strongly nonlinear impulse-like constraint is introduced.The effect of the impulsive thrust strategy guided by the optimal continuous thrust strategy is also discussed. 展开更多

This paper investigates impulsive orbital attack-defense(AD)games under multiple constraints and victory conditions,involving three spacecraft:attacker,target,and defender.In the AD scenario,the attacker aims to breach the defender's interception to rendezvous with the target,while the defender seeks to protect the target by blocking or actively pursuing the attacker.Four different maneuvering constraints and five potential game outcomes are incorporated to more accurately model AD game problems and increase complexity,thereby reducing the effectiveness of traditional methods such as differential games and game-tree searches.To address these challenges,this study proposes a multiagent deep reinforcement learning solution with variable reward functions.Two attack strategies,Direct attack(DA)and Bypass attack(BA),are developed for the attacker,each focusing on different mission priorities.Similarly,two defense strategies,Direct interdiction(DI)and Collinear interdiction(CI),are designed for the defender,each optimizing specific defensive actions through tailored reward functions.Each reward function incorporates both process rewards(e.g.,distance and angle)and outcome rewards,derived from physical principles and validated via geometric analysis.Extensive simulations of four strategy confrontations demonstrate average defensive success rates of 75%for DI vs.DA,40%for DI vs.BA,80%for CI vs.DA,and 70%for CI vs.BA.Results indicate that CI outperforms DI for defenders,while BA outperforms DA for attackers.Moreover,defenders achieve their objectives more effectively under identical maneuvering capabilities.Trajectory evolution analyses further illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed variable reward function-driven strategies.These strategies and analyses offer valuable guidance for practical orbital defense scenarios and lay a foundation for future multi-agent game research. 展开更多

Considering that actual systems are often constrained by multiple factors such as state limitation,actuator saturation and actuator failure at the same time,this paper provides an effective solution for non-affine multi-player systems,which can guarantee the required performance while saving communication cost.Initially,an auxiliary system is established to accommodate state limitations,following which the controller design is partitioned into two distinct segments,addressing different types of faults.Specifically,the discontinuous and continuous aspects of the controller are achieved by sliding-mode control(SMC)and adaptive critic design(ACD),respectively.During the implementation of ACD to solve the guaranteed value function incorporating the utility function designed for the asymmetric saturation of the control input,two adaptive schemes including adaptive eventtriggered impulsive control(AETIC)and adaptive self-triggered impulsive control(ASTIC)are introduced successively.It is proved that the system maintains exponential stability rather than asymptotic stability and the state signals keep ultimately uniformly bounded(UUB).Finally,the effectiveness of the proposed control sequence is verified by simulation comparisons. 展开更多

Reactive compatibilization has been widely applied to enhance the compatibility of polymer blends,thereby improving their mechanical properties.However,it generally reduces the chain mobility and regularity,often leading to slower polymer crystallization.Here,we demonstrate that reactive compatibilization in poly(lactic acid)/poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate)(PLA/PBAT)blends unexpectedly promotes PLA matrix crystallization during injection molding,in contrast to the retarded kinetics observed in differential scanning calorimetry isothermal crystallization studies.The phase morphology,rheological behavior,and crystalline structure were systematically analyzed to elucidate markedly different crystallization kinetics under static and shear fields.The potential mechanism underlying crystallization enhancement is attributed to PBAT domain refinement and viscosity increase induced by reactive compatibilization,which,under shear flow,create favorable conditions for crystallization by enhancing PBAT fibril nucleation and retarding the relaxation of oriented PLA chains.This study offers new perspectives on the effect of reactive compatibilization on the polymer crystallization behavior. 展开更多

A novel aperiodically intermittent impulse control(AIIC)method is proposed to investigate the exponential synchronization in mean square(ESMS)of a class of impulsive stochastic infinite-dimensional systems with Poisson jumps(ISIDSP).The AIIC control strategy inherits the flexibility of aperiodically intermittent control,including the variable control period,adjustable control interval length,and the discretization of impulsive control.In addition,this article introduces a novel mild Itô's formula.By leveraging semigroup theory,the contraction mapping principle,and graph theory,along with constructing the Lyapunov function,the criterion for the existence and uniqueness of a mild solution of ISIDSP is thereby established.Furthermore,the mean-square exponential synchronization problem of the above systems is resolved,and the constraints within the mild solution domain are alleviated.These criteria clarify the impact of control parameters,control intervals and network topology on ESMS.The theoretical results are subsequently applied to a class of neural networks with reaction-diffusion processes,and the validity of the results is verified using numerical simulations. 展开更多

The aim of this study was to compare the effects of percussive massage treatment and static stretching on muscle tone,stiffness,and strength recovery following exercise fatigue.Sixty subjects were randomly divided into three groups:a control group(CG,n=20),a static stretching group(SSG,n=20),and a percussive massage treatment group(PMTG,n=20).Following exercise-induced muscle fatigue,interventions were applied,including supine rest,static stretching,and percussive massage treatment.Muscle tone,stiffness,and muscle strength indicators were assessed at five time points:before the exercise(Pre-exercise),immediately after exercise(Post-exercise),immediately after therapy intervention(Post-0),24 hours(h)after therapy intervention(Post-24 h),and 48 h after therapy intervention(Post-48 h).Results:At Post-0,muscle tone and stiffness in both the control group and static stretching group were significantly higher than Pre-exercise,while in the percussive massage treatment group,there were no statistically significant differences compared to Pre-exercise.At Post-48 h,peak torque in the control group was significantly lower than Pre-exercise.In contrast,the percussive massage treatment group and static stretching group showed no significant differences at Post-48 h compared to Pre-exercise.These findings indicated that percussive massage therapy is immediately effective in mitigating muscle tone and stiffness after exercise fatigue,whereas static stretching and percussive massage therapy facilitate the recovery of muscle strength within 48 h. 展开更多

To accelerate the development of impulse hydro‐turbines and support the efficient utilization of hydropower resources in Southwest China,this paper examines the background,historical development,and research progress of impulse hydroturbines.By analyzing energy development data,hydropower potential,and research trends in impulse hydro‐turbines,we provide a comprehensive review based on existing studies and technical achievements from domestic and international scholars.This paper focuses on five key components:distributors,injectors(including deflectors),runners,auxiliary systems,and engineering applications.For each part,the working principles and technological progress are detailed.Furthermore,five main findings are highlighted—such as the role of impulse hydropower in addressing China's energy crisis—and five recommendations are put forward,including the need to strengthen related technological capabilities in China.This review aims to provide a reference for further research and industrial development. 展开更多

To effectively control the large deformation of the surrounding rock under complex conditions,it is often necessary to apply prestress to anchor cables.However,due to the influence of surrounding rock deformation,mining disturbance,and strong impact,anchor cables are often in a dynamic and static coupling stress state.Therefore,it is crucial to study the dynamic and static coupling mechanical characteristics of anchor cables.Based on this,the self-developed dynamic and static coupling test equipment is developed.The dynamic and static coupling mechanical test of anchor cables is conducted.Test results indicate that the energy absorption for anchor cables under the initial load of 350 kN decreased by 69.8%compared to the condition without initial load,and the energy absorption efficiency increased by 6.6 times.The increase of initial load can improve its energy absorption efficiency,but it can also lead to a decrease in its energy absorption.The energy absorption and energy absorption efficiency shows a bilinear variation law with the increase of initial load.On this basis,the energy absorption calculation formula and the support design model of the anchor cable are established.It provides new ideas for the safety control of dynamic disasters in deep engineering. 展开更多
