Advancements in nanostructures and nanomaterials have significantly impacted both academic research and industry.Notable nanomaterials include carbon materials,polymeric nanoparticles,dendrimers,metal and metal oxide nanoparticles,liposomes,zeolites,Metal-Organic Frameworks(MOFs),MXenes,molecular cages,and covalent organic frameworks(COFs).Their unique structures and properties make them suitable for diverse applications.Nano-structuration,which generates various nano-architectures with unique characteristics,influences the physical,chemical,and electrical properties of nanomaterials.This process is essential for achieving desired properties and maximizing application potential.Carbon materials,MOFs,and other nanomaterials have been classified based on their architectural dimensionality and the effects of nano-structuration on their applications.However,comprehensive studies on the synthesis and fabrication of COF nanostructures with desired architectures and dimensionalities are lacking.This review discusses the library of available nanostructures based on dimensionality,factors influencing nano-structuration,and the potential applications of nanomaterials like carbon materials,MOFs,and organic cage molecules.Additionally,it attempts to classify COFs based on architectural variation,specific synthetic strategies,and other factors influencing nano-structuration and applications.The aim is to develop novel synthetic methods for COF architectures across all dimensions,utilizing their morphological diversity for targeted applications based on their structure-property relationship,and to explore new methodologies for interconverting COF architectures through covalent and supramolecular self-assembly. 展开更多

In addition to soil samples, conventional soil maps, and experienced soil surveyors, text about soils(e.g., soil survey reports) is an important potential data source for extracting soil–environment relationships. Considering that the words describing soil–environment relationships are often mixed with unrelated words, the first step is to extract the needed words and organize them in a structured way. This paper applies natural language processing(NLP) techniques to automatically extract and structure information from soil survey reports regarding soil–environment relationships. The method includes two steps:(1) construction of a knowledge frame and(2) information extraction using either a rule-based method or a statistic-based method for different types of information. For uniformly written text information, the rule-based approach was used to extract information. These types of variables include slope, elevation, accumulated temperature, annual mean temperature, annual precipitation, and frost-free period. For information contained in text written in diverse styles, the statistic-based method was adopted. These types of variables include landform and parent material. The soil species of China soil survey reports were selected as the experimental dataset. Precision(P), recall(R), and F1-measure(F1) were used to evaluate the performances of the method. For the rule-based method, the P values were 1, the R values were above 92%, and the F1 values were above 96% for all the involved variables. For the method based on the conditional random fields(CRFs), the P, R and F1 values for the parent material were, respectively, 84.15, 83.13, and 83.64%; the values for landform were 88.33, 76.81, and 82.17%, respectively. To explore the impact of text types on the performance of the CRFs-based method, CRFs models were trained and validated separately by the descriptive texts of soil types and typical profiles. For parent material, the maximum F1 value for the descriptive text of soil types was 90.7%, while the maximum F1 value for the descriptive text of soil profiles was only 75%. For landform, the maximum F1 value for the descriptive text of soil types was 85.33%, which was similar to that of the descriptive text of soil profiles(i.e., 85.71%). These results suggest that NLP techniques are effective for the extraction and structuration of soil–environment relationship information from a text data source. 展开更多

Currently,the enhancement in electromagnetic interference(EMI)performance of polymeric composite generally relies on either improving electrical conductivity(σ)for stronger electromagnetic(EM)reflections or tailoring structure for higher EM resonances.Herein,we proposed a novel technique called cyclic pulsating pressure enhanced segregating structuration(CPP-SS),which can reinforce these two factors simultaneously.The structural information was supplied by optical microscopy(OM)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM),both of which confirmed the formation and evolution of segregate structured ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene(UHMWPE)/graphene composites.Then,the result showed that CPP-SS can significantly improve theσof samples.Ultimately,advanced specific EMI shielding efficiency of 31.1 d B/mm was achieved for UHMWPE/graphene composite at 1-mm thickness and a low graphene loading of 5 wt%.Meanwhile,it also confirmed that the intrinsic disadvantage of poor mechanical properties of conventional segregated structure composites can be surpassed.This work is believed to provide a fundamental understanding of the structural and performance evolutions of segregated structured composites prepared under CPPSS,and to bring us a simple and efficient approach for fabricating high-performance,strong and light-weight polymeric EMI shields. 展开更多

This paper considers accounting regulation research from a structuration and cultural perspective. Therefore, accounting regulation research spans over three spheres of enquiry: (1) an accounting focus of standard-setting; (2) a cultural analysis in an empirical context; and (3) the use of a research methodology drawn from Anthony Giddens' structuration theory. In such approach, accounting regulation research analyzes the accounting regulation actors drawing upon the cultures in their standard-setting actions and interactions, referring to Giddens' three structural properties of meaning, power, and morality. The integration of these three spheres of enquiry is not entirely original. A few prior studies have similar combinations: Although they stress the uses and consequences of accounting systems in producing and reproducing organizational culture and negotiating meaning at the organizational level, this paper chooses the research approach of contextual analysis of accounting systems at more macro-societal and cultural levels. This different research interest and design provides this paper with its distinguishable characteristic from the prior similar studies. 展开更多

The authors extend the Structuration Theory by integrating it with the Activity Theory to provide the means of evaluating the activities that the system is to perform. Toward a More Flexible Language Policy: An Attempt to Apply Giddens' Structuration Theory on Analysis of Language Policy Efficiency 认领 引用

Inspired by Giddens' structuration theory and its mutually constitutive character of structure and agency, the present paper offers a different and interdisciplinary approach to the analysis of the language policy efficien in terms of analysis of the flexibility of language policy design. Flexibility in a language policy design can cy be measured by how different agents on interstate, state, local municipality, and institutional level are left with possibility of agency, i.e., possibility to be involved in identification and solving of local and contextual language problems. Inspired furthermore by Foucault's governmentality, legal regulations in the area of language use, status and acquisition are seen as crucial, as they explicitly frame the possibility for agency for the mentioned agents. The possibility for success of a language political intervention furthermore depends on whether the agent involved in allocative resources for the su finding ccessful local solutions for a language problem also has access to the necessary fulfillment of the task. Key points of the paper are highlighted through contrasting examples of Estonia's overt (or thick) and Denmark's covert (or thin) language policy design Using an analytical paradigm of Giddens' allocatively and authoritatively distributed resources, and moving from the macro level in legislation to the meso and micro levels of language activity, the paper demonstrates how "free spaces" can open up, revealing potential for bottom-up agency to solve language problems in the allocative model, whereas the authoritative model (as in Estonia) can lead to "holes" through its insufficient distribution of resources to support successful linguistic integration, since the majority of resources are used on control on the state level 展开更多

Explanations with standard physics remain controversial. Recently, I proposed a new explanation of the galactic flat rotation curves, introducing a new cosmic acceleration due to expansion. In this paper, I apply this new acceleration to the dynamics of DSG’s (without dark matter). I show that this new acceleration implies planar structures for the DSG trajectories. More generally, it is shown that this acceleration produces a space structuration around any massive center. It remains a candidate to explain several cosmic observations without dark matter. 展开更多

Plutella xylostella, pointed out as the most dangerous destroyer of cabbage (Brassica olerarea), is a cosmopolitan species. In fact, owing to its large capacity of adaptation, P. xylestella colonizes any kind of area. This insect can bring about up to 90% of losses on cabbage farming. To control the insect, Senegalese farmers, very often, resort to high dose of chemical pesticides which are repetitively sprayed. The use of these chemical products gives rise to different varieties of resistant insects, which results in the emergence of different haplotypes between populations. It is in such a context that this study has been undertaken. Our objective is then to contribute to the knowledge of the genetic diversity of P. xylostella populations in Senegal. To hit the target, PCR- Sequencing method has been applied on samples from the five following localities: Diofior, Malika, Mboro, Santh Ndong, and Sebikotane. P. xylostella from Mboro is genetically different from the other populations. This fact could be due to a different way of using pesticides in this area vis-à-vis of the other localities. On the other hand, between populations of P. xylostella from Diofior, Malika, Santh Ndong, and Sebikotane, there is no significant genetic difference. In other respects, phylogenetic trees reveal the existence of two clades: one with individuals from Mboro and the other one with individuals from the other four localities. P. xylostella from Mboro distinguishes itself from other populations and then, can be regarded as a sub-population. Thus, the phylogenetic trees reveal the existence of two groups of P. xylostella in Senegal. 展开更多

The tea plant(Camellia sinensis)is a widely cultivated and economically significant crop that originated from southwestern China.Owing to its high heterozygosity and complex genetic diversity,the evolutionary history of the tea plant and its domestication remain unclear.In this study,we used 1076 Camellia accessions to elucidate the phylogenetic relationships and population structure of Camellia accessions across 16 major tea-producing provinces in China.Six species-specific populations were classified based on these SNPs through phylogenetic trees and population structure.We found that C.taliensis populations have undergone divergent evolution compared to other wild relatives,such as C.kwangsiensis and C.crassicoluma.Population structure and introgression analyses further revealed frequent interspecific genetic exchanges between C.sinensis and its wild relatives.Thus,a transitional C.sinensis population that shared a genetic background with C.taliensis was characterized.Distinct genetic divergence was observed within the two main varieties of C.sinensis.Contrary to the relatively exclusive genetic background within the C.sinensis var.assamica population in southwestern China,extensive regional introgression and gene flow were observed in the C.sinensis var.sinensis population between southwestern and eastern China.Finally,we developed a core collection comprising 160 accessions based on our genetic diversity analyses.Our findings not only provide insights into the evolutionary history and genetic diversity of the tea plant but may facilitate the development of the conservation and utilization of tea plant resources. 展开更多

Exploring new material systems and enhancing the birefringence of compounds is a highly valuable endeavor.In this study,we introduce a novel method to enhance the birefringence of inorganic compounds by inducing structural alignment through linear groups and fluoride ions.We report on two new compounds:HgGa2(SeO3)4 and Hg2Ga(SeO3)2F.HgGa2(SeO3)4 crystallizes in a non-centrosymmetric(NCS)space group,exhibiting a second harmonic generation(SHG)efficiency of approximately 60% that of commercial KH2PO4(KDP),with a birefringence of 0.032@546 nm.Hg2Ga(SeO3)2F,on the other hand,crystallizes in a centrosymmetric space(CS)group and represents the first reported HgI-based selenite birefringent material.Due to the influence of the linear group Hg2O2,its birefringence is significantly enhanced to 0.111@546 nm,which is 3.5 times that of HgGa2(SeO3)4.Moreover,both compounds demonstrate high stability and a broad optical transparency window.These findings indicate that Hg2Ga(SeO3)2F is a promising candidate for birefringent material in the mid-infrared(MIR)range.Our research provides an innovative strategy for improving the birefringence of compounds. 展开更多

In this study,an inverse design framework was established to find lightweight honeycomb structures(HCSs)with high impact resistance.The hybrid HCS,composed of re-entrant(RE)and elliptical annular re-entrant(EARE)honeycomb cells,was created by constructing arrangement matrices to achieve structural lightweight.The machine learning(ML)framework consisted of a neural network(NN)forward regression model for predicting impact resistance and a multi-objective optimization algorithm for generating high-performance designs.The surrogate of the local design space was initially realized by establishing the NN in the small sample dataset,and the active learning strategy was used to continuously extended the local optimal design until the model converged in the global space.The results indicated that the active learning strategy significantly improved the inference capability of the NN model in unknown design domains.By guiding the iteration direction of the optimization algorithm,lightweight designs with high impact resistance were identified.The energy absorption capacity of the optimal design reached 94.98%of the EARE honeycomb,while the initial peak stress and mass decreased by 28.85%and 19.91%,respectively.Furthermore,Shapley Additive Explanations(SHAP)for global explanation of the NN indicated a strong correlation between the arrangement mode of HCS and its impact resistance.By reducing the stiffness of the cells at the top boundary of the structure,the initial impact damage sustained by the structure can be significantly improved.Overall,this study proposed a general lightweight design method for array structures under impact loads,which is beneficial for the widespread application of honeycomb-based protective structures. 展开更多

Commercial carbonate electrolytes suffer from ion transport difficulty in bulk electrolytes and interphase at low temperatures,bringing challenges to the application of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)at low temperatures.Herein,the ester solvent of methyl propionate(MP)with low melting point and low viscosity was used to tackle ion transport difficulty in electrolytes.Fluorinated ester was further added to accelerate interfacial transport through intermolecular interactions.The influence of fluorinated esters with different fluorination degrees on the solvation structure of electrolytes and the performance of batteries was further studied.As a result,methyl pentafluoropropionate(M5F)with five fluorine atoms was selected for its optimal interactions with both Li+and MP solvent in the primary solvation structure,contributing to desired solvation structure for fast interfacial transport.The LiFePO4(LFP)||graphite cell with LiFSI-MP-M5F electrolyte exhibited a high cyclability of 85.8%after 120 cycles and retained 81.2%of room-temperature capacity when charged and discharged at−30℃.1 Ah LFP||graphite pouch cell with high cathode loading(20 mg/cm2)in LiFSI-MP-M5F electrolyte exhibited 0.85 Ah capacity when charged and discharged at−20℃.This work provides a guidance for electrolyte design by synergistic fluorinated and non-fluorinated solvents for LIBs at low-temperature application. 展开更多

The pursuit of heat-resistant energetic materials(HREMs)with thermal stability beyond 450℃ presents a significant challenge that has yet to be achieved.In this work,we develop an innovative electronic delocalization strategy to design and synthesize a planar dizwitterionic diamino-bistriazolotetrazine,designated as TYX-1.The unique structural feature of TYX-1,including a nitrogen-rich fused ring system,planar conformation,and dizwitterionic configuration,combined with its hydrogen-bonded organic framework(HOF)structure,confer exceptional thermal stability(The onset temperature is 428℃,and the peak temperature is 473℃),high density(1.84 g/cm3),and remarkable detonation performance(detonation velocity:8616 m/s).Furthermore,TYX-1 exhibits an impressive insensitivity(impact sensitivity>40 J;friction sensitivity>360 N),surpassing all previously reported HREMs.Theoretical calculations and single-crystal clearly indicate that the delocalizedπelectrons within the dizwitterionic bistriazolotetrazine rings and the HOF structure of TYX-1 are pivotal in ensuring its high thermal stability and high energy density.The discovery of TYX-1 marks a significant advancement in the field of HREMs and is anticipated to catalyze substantial progress in various high-temperature applications reliant on energetic materials. 展开更多

The mineral composition and microstructure critically affect high-basicity sinter quality.Using analytical grade reagents,the formation mechanisms of main minerals and microstructures in high-basicity sinter(hematite-type,magnetite-type,and vanadium-titanium magnetite-type)during mineralization were analyzed via polarized light microscopy and FactSage.The results indicated that hematite appeared as primary and secondary forms in different sinter types at 900℃.In the heating process,calcium ferrite,magnetite,and perovskite formed at 1150,1280,and 1400℃,respectively,while olivine formed at 1200℃during cooling.From room temperature to1400℃,microstructures evolved from powder-like to porphyritic and skeletal crystal forms.During cooling(1280 to 1100℃),an interlaced-erosion structure was observed.FactSage simulations show that in the low-temperature phase,the liquid composition is closer to the high-basicity CaO–Fe2O3liquid phase region,where silica-ferrite of calcium and aluminum(SFCA)binds with magnetite and hematite to form an interlaced-erosion structure.The porphyritic structure resulted from SFCA melting into the liquid phase,hematite decomposing,and the glass phase cementing magnetite upon quenching.The skeletal crystal structure forms during the high-temperature phase as the high silicate content in the liquid phase increases melting viscosity,reduces local medium concentration,and leads to incomplete crystal growth.This research aims to advance high-basicity sinter metallogenic theory and guide sintering quality improvement. 展开更多

Designing a highly active and stable bifunctional catalyst is essential for achieving superior overall water splitting(OWS).In this study,a three-dimensional(3D)core-shell structure Co3S4/CuS@NiFe LDH nanocoral spheres electrocatalyst was constructed on nickel foam(NF)via an interfacial engineering strategy.This 3D core-shell heterostructure maximizes the exposure of active sites,optimizes the charge transport pathway and accelerates gas release rates.The protective shell strategy of NiFe LDH provides favorable stability,which contributes to inhibiting the electrochemical corrosion of the electrocatalyst and mitigating the toxic effects of Cl- and other microorganisms during the seawater splitting process.Moreover,the introduction of NiFe LDH induces a change in the OER mechanism from an adsorption evolution mechanism(AEM)to a lattice oxygen mechanism(LOM),which improves the intrinsic activity of the catalyst.Consequently,Co3S4/CuS@NiFe LDH demonstrates exceptional performance in the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)(η100=251 mV)and in the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)(η100=254 mV),alongside remarkable stability over 100 h.For OWS,it exhibits a voltage of 1.46 V at 10 mA/cm2 and maintain stability for 100 h.Impressively,Co3S4/CuS@NiFe LDH still possesses outstanding activity and stability in natural alkaline seawater.This work proposes interfacial engineering to construct bifunctional catalysts with core-shell heterostructures,providing instructive guidelines for the design of highly efficient electrocatalysts toward seawater electrolysis. 展开更多

Nonlinear analyses possess tremendous significance throughout the entire lifespans of civil structures.In recent years,the interest in leveraging deep learning(DL)to address the efficiency limitations of the traditional structural analysis methods has increased.However,full-range nonlinear analyses of different structures remain underresearched because of a lack of appropriate data representations and the failure to consider both internal structural information and external load conditions.A heterogeneous graph(HetG)representation scheme that can digitalize arbitrary structural systems with high fidelity is proposed in this study.Furthermore,a composite feature learning framework is developed to enable efficient full-range nonlinear analyses.This framework comprises two main components:①a heterogeneous graph neural network(GNN)-based module that encodes static features into embeddings with full structural semantics and②a sequence-to-sequence(Seq2Seq)module that predicts history-dependent responses using structural embeddings and external stimuli in an end-to-end manner.A computational model named structural analysis based on a graph neural network-nonlinear(StructGNN-N)is implemented based on the proposed methodology and is validated through numerical experiments involving real-world concrete structures.The results show that StructGNN-N successfully reproduces the full-range nonlinear responses of all nodes in the entire structure and exhibits excellent generalizability across structures with diverse topological designs and member configurations.Notably,the developed model achieves a computational efficiency level that is 1000 times greater than that of the traditional elastoplastic history analysis approach using the finite-element(FE)method.A parametric analysis and ablation studies demonstrate the effectiveness of the StructGNN-N architecture.Due to its superior accuracy and computational efficiency,the proposed method holds great potential for use in engineering applications,especially in the context of digital twins.This approach provides an inspiring path for simulating diverse engineering structures with accurate and comprehensive mechanical information in real time. 展开更多

Accurately assessing the impact of turbulence structures on load fluctuation is crucial for the long-term stable operation of wind turbines.Based on turbulence signals observed at the Qingtu Lake Observed Array in China,the aerodynamic load responses of the wind turbine to different turbulence scales are quantitatively analyzed in this study.The results indicate that very large-scale motions(VLSMs)are associated with significant load fluctuations due to its low frequency and high energy characteristics,increasing the risk of extreme loads.Large-scale motions coupled with the natural frequency of wind turbines in the medium frequency range,result in resonance phenomena.Small-scale motions,due to their high-frequency rapid vibration characteristics,cause instantaneous oscillations in wind turbine loads.Furthermore,correlation analysis indicates that the flapwise moment and thrust are most sensitive to VLSMs,while the edgewise moment is less affected by the scale characteristics.It is worth noting that this study is the first to explore the modulation effects of different scales of turbulent structures on the amplitude of wind turbine load fluctuation.It was found that turbulent structures exceeding a scale of 3δ have the most significant impact on modulating the load amplitudes,where δ is the boundary layer thickness,which is 99% of the flow velocity outside the boundary layer.These findings contribute to the enhancement of understanding regarding the load response of wind turbines in multi-scale turbulent environments and provide important references for the optimization of wind turbine design and load control. 展开更多

Conformal truss-like lattice structures face significant manufacturability challenges in additive manufac-turing due to overhang angle limitations.To address this problem,we propose a novel angle-constrained optimization method grounded in the global adjustment of nodal coordinates.First,a build direction is selected to minimize the number of violating struts.Then,an angular-constraint matrix is assembled from strut direction vectors,and analytical sensitivities with respect to nodal coordinates are derived to enable efficient constrained optimization under nonlinear angular inequality constraints.Numerical studies on two complex curved-surface lattices demonstrate that all overhang violations are eliminated while only minor changes are induced in global stiffness and strength.In particular,the maximum displacement of an ergonomic insole varies by only 2.87%after optimization.The results confirm the method’s versatility and engineering robustness,providing a practical approach for additive manufacturing-oriented lattice structure design. 展开更多

A RadioFrequency Quadrupole(RFQ)cooler-buncher system was developed and implemented in a collinear laser spectroscopy setup.This system converts a continuous ion beam into short bunches while enhancing the beam quality and reducing the energy spread.The functionality of the RFQ cooler buncher was verified through offline tests with stable rubidium and indium beams delivered from a surface ion source and a laser ablation ion source,respectively.Bunched ion beams with a full width at half maximum of approximately 2μs in the time-of-flight spectrum were successfully achieved with a transmission efficiency exceeding 60%.The implementation of the RFQ cooler-buncher system also significantly improved the overall transmission efficiency of the collinear laser spectroscopy setup. 展开更多

A novel vibration isolation system designed for superior performance in low-frequency environments is proposed in this work.The isolator is based on a unique hexagonal arrangement of linear springs,allowing for an adjustable geometric configuration via the initial inclination angle.Based on the principle of Lagrangian mechanics,the equation of motion governing the structural dynamics is rigorously derived.The system is modeled as a strongly nonlinear single-degree-of-freedom dynamical system,loaded with a normalized payload and subject to harmonic base excitation.To analyze the steady-state response,the harmonic balance method is employed,providing accurate predictions of the payload's vibration amplitude and displacement transmissibility as functions of both the base excitation amplitude and frequency.The analysis reveals a direct relationship between the isolator's geometric and stiffness parameters and its load-bearing capacity,leading to the identification of three distinct operational regimes.Depending on the unloaded initial inclination angle,the equivalent stiffness ratio,and the payload design configuration,the system can exhibit one of three vibration isolation modes:(i)the quasizero stiffness(QZS)isolation mode,(ii)the zero linear stiffness with controllable nonlinear stiffness,and(iii)the full-band perfect zero stiffness.The vibration isolation performance of the proposed structure is thoroughly discussed for all three oscillation modes in terms of frequency response curves,displacement transmissibility,and time-domain responses.The key novel finding is that this structure can operate as a full-band,high-performance vibration isolator when the initial inclination angle is designed to be a right angle,enabling full isolation of the maximum possible payload.Moreover,the analytical results and numerical simulations demonstrate that the isolator's displacement transmissibility T with the unit dB tends to-∞as the air-damping coefficient approaches zero,enabling ideal vibration isolation across the entire excitation frequency range.These analytical insights are validated through comprehensive numerical simulations,which show excellent agreement with the theoretical predictions. 展开更多
