Objective:Transformative learning is a learner-centered process of learning.Learners are actively engaged through critical reflection and discourse to question assumptions and expectations.The purpose of this article ...Objective:Transformative learning is a learner-centered process of learning.Learners are actively engaged through critical reflection and discourse to question assumptions and expectations.The purpose of this article is to describe a model to facilitate transformative learning in nursing education.Methods:A qualitative,exploratory,descriptive and contextual design for theory generation was selected in this study to describe a model to facilitate transformative learning in nursing education.Concept analysis of transformative learning was done in the first stage of the main study using Walker and Avant's eight step approach to clarify the conceptual identification and meaning.The results of concept analysis guided data collection in the second stage.Eleven individual agenda semi-structured interviews were conducted with nurse educators to explore and describe their perceptions regarding how transformative learning can be facilitated in nursing education.Matrix building approach was used to analyse the collected data.The third stage constituted the conceptualisation of findings from the second stage using relevant literature within the elements of practice theory.The fourth stage focused on the description and evaluation of a model to facilitate transformative learning in nursing education.Findings:Four themes and nine sub-themes emerged and were conceptualised within the six elements of practice theory namely the context,agent,recipient,dynamic,process and procedure and outcome.Conclusion:The relation statements provided the basis for model description.Reliable method was used to describe and evaluate the model.The refinement of the model by experts in model development andqualitative research was made.展开更多

The study is based on analysis of personal counseling experience, where literature was...Our voluntary project ran in different groups of adults (healthy, depressed, schizophrenic, and clients with anxiety disorders). The study is based on analysis of personal counseling experience, where literature was used as a tool to disclose client's personal meanings. During our sessions, clients were observed phenomenologically, and their speach was written down. Reflecting on the qualitative data of transformative learning in language arts, we developed techniques for facilitation and disclosure of personal meanings. Grounded theory was used for data generalization: Personal educational insights and its comparison with other researchers' theoretical insights were the basis to develop the methodical system for psychological guidance and counseling and to explain it. We revealed that focus on personally important meanings during discussion after literature reading has influence on the mental state of personality and deepens the interactions with the literature art, so we suggest a spiral model to explain the methodical system of our method. Transformative learning in language arts as a method of guidance and counseling can be understood as spiritual motion by spirale. It has three levels: (1) art level (interaction with the literature); (2) psychology level (counseling); and (3) art level (interaction with the same peace of literature as in the beginning of the session, poetic summary of the session). Levels (1) and (3) mean interaction with literature art, but at the third level, this interaction has new quality, because personality has better perception of Self and more ability to connect personal meanings and literature wisdom. At the first level, we have direction from literature to Personality. At the third level, we have direction from the Self (Speaking from Within) to literature. Disclosure of personally important meanings is a key to self-understanding and poetical thinking; our developed methodical system reduces emotional tension and strengthens interconnectedness between inner and outer world and improves poetical understanding. For both Aristotle and Mezirow, the exercise of morality, or rising to the standard of moral choice, decision, and action, is not the result of an intuitive achievement or a sudden understanding of a morally demanding situation but a lifelong affair. Our strategy here addresses three aims: Firstly, to invoke and reclaim the endemic bond between education in the broader sense of paideia and the significant role that reeds to be re-ascribed to moral education. This allows a turn towards qualitative features and makes room for an inclusion of moral education, or values education, within education. Secondly, to portray the exercise of autonomy, choice, and judgment as a result of paideutic development; both theories share the assumption that moral learning rests on constant reflection upon past experiences and the zetesis of future goals. Thirdly, to focus on the way one reclaims the right to exercise judgment, whenever this is required. A joint study of the two theories may enlighten the content of this lifelong reflective procedure.展开更多
The growing use of lithium-ion batteries in electric transportation and grid-scale storage systems has intensified the need for accurate and highly generalizable state-of-health(SOH)estimation.Conventional approaches ...The growing use of lithium-ion batteries in electric transportation and grid-scale storage systems has intensified the need for accurate and highly generalizable state-of-health(SOH)estimation.Conventional approaches often suffer from reduced accuracy under dynamically uncertain state-of-charge(SOC)operating ranges and heterogeneous aging stresses.This study presents a unified SOH estimation framework that integrates physics-informed modeling,subspace identification,and Transformer-based learning.A reduced-order model is derived from simplified electrochemical dynamics,providing an interpretable and computationally efficient representation of battery behavior.Subspace identification across a wide SOC and SOH range yields degradation-sensitive features,which the Transformer uses to capture long-range aging dynamics via multi-head self-attention.Experiments on LiFePO4 cells under joint-cell training show consistently accurate SOH estimation,with a maximum error of 1.39%,demonstrating the framework’s effectiveness in decoupling SOC and SOH effects.In cross-cell validation,where training and validation are performed on different cells,the model maintains a maximum error of 2.06%,confirming strong generalization to unseen aging trajectories.Comparative experiments on LiFePO4and public LiCoO2datasets confirm the framework’s cross-chemistry applicability.By extracting low-dimensional,physically interpretable features via subspace identification,the framework significantly reduces training cost while maintaining high SOH estimation accuracy,outperforming conventional data-driven models lacking physical guidance.展开更多

Gamification using game-like featuressuch as competition, rewards and challenges generate intrinsic motivation and retention in students. AI devices and wearablessupport learning via monitoring student growth, engagement and moods. Families and school alliances extend these ripples byestablishing a nurturing community between school and home. The study is a mixed-methods study consisting of pre- and postexperimentquestionnaires, interviews and focus groups with 300 high school students randomly assigned to experimental andcontrol groups. Quantitative data from regression and ANOVA show the experimental group experiencing a dramatic boost inmotivation (+35.3%), interest and academic performance. These findings highlight the importance of gamified and AI-basedlearning environments with good family-school partnerships. These findings offer concrete suggestions for teachers, parents andpolicymakers on fostering engaging, supportive and tech-enabled learning environments.展开更多
Accurate genotyping and prognosis of glioma patients present significant clinical challenges,often dependent on subjective judgement and insufficient scientific evidence.This study aims to develop a robust,noninvasive...Accurate genotyping and prognosis of glioma patients present significant clinical challenges,often dependent on subjective judgement and insufficient scientific evidence.This study aims to develop a robust,noninvasive preoperative multi-modal MRIbased transformer learning model to predict IDH genotyping and glioma prognosis.This multi-centre study included 563 glioma patients to develop an interpretable classification model utilising various preoperative imaging sequences,including T1-weighted,T2-weighted,fluid-attenuated inversion recovery,contrast-enhanced T1-weighted,and diffusion-weighted imaging.The model employs a multi-task learning framework to extract and fuse radiomic,deep learning,and clinical features for IDH genotyping and glioma prognosis.Additionally,a multi-modal transformer strategy is integrated to analyse structural and functional MRI,thereby enhancing model performance.Experimental results indicate that the model demonstrates superior performance,surpassing previous research and other state-of-the-art methods.The model achieves an AUC of 91.40% in the IDH genotyping task and 93.37% in the glioma prognosis task.Group analysis reveals that the model exhibits higher sensitivity to IDH-mutant cases and more accurately identifies low-risk groups compared to medium-or high-risk groups.This study aims to achieve accurate IDH genotyping and glioma prognosis through effective classification method,offering valuable diagnostic insights for clinical practice and expediting treatment decisions.展开更多
The structured low-rank model for parallel magnetic resonance(MR)imaging can efficiently reconstruct MR images with limited auto-calibration signals.To improve the reconstruction quality of MR images,we integrate the ...The structured low-rank model for parallel magnetic resonance(MR)imaging can efficiently reconstruct MR images with limited auto-calibration signals.To improve the reconstruction quality of MR images,we integrate the joint sparsity and sparsifying transform learning(JTL)into the simultaneous auto-calibrating and k-space estimation(SAKE)structured low-rank model,named JTLSAKE.The alternate direction method of multipliers is exploited to solve the resulting optimization problem,and the optimized gradient method is used to improve the convergence speed.In addition,a graphics processing unit is used to accelerate the proposed algorithm.The experimental results on four in vivo human datasets demonstrate that the reconstruction quality of the proposed algorithm is comparable to that of JTL-based low-rank modeling of local k-space neighborhoods with parallel imaging(JTL-PLORAKS),and the proposed algorithm is 46 times faster than the JTL-PLORAKS,requiring only 4 s to reconstruct a 200×200 pixels MR image with 8 channels.展开更多

The participants, a small group of technical writing students, engaged in writing a proposal targeting a real-life local problem as well as finding a solution. The study shows that authentic learning, such as writing the proposal for a real-world problem, can generate a potential solution while the service learning portion of the assignment (such as working with the community) can provide a specific real-life location for resolving the problem. The study also shows that the authentic learning experience can inspire the students to move further to serve the community and when students volunteer to help the local community implement the solution, a bridge between the authentic learning and service learning can be built, which can then lead to students' enhancement of all round real-life skills and of a sense of serving the community. Finally, the implications of the study for English language teaching in an authentic leaming context also will be discussed.展开更多

Background:Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy(CIPN)is a common and debilitating adverseeffect of cancer treatment that substantially impairs patients’quality of life and may lead to dose reductionor treatment...Background:Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy(CIPN)is a common and debilitating adverseeffect of cancer treatment that substantially impairs patients’quality of life and may lead to dose reductionor treatment discontinuation.Traditional prediction models based on single-modal data have shown limitedaccuracy in clinical settings.Aim:This study aimed to develop and evaluate a deep learning-based predictivemodel for CIPN by integrating multimodal data,including clinical,genomic,biosignal,wearable device,and imaging information.Methods:A retrospective and prospective cohort of cancer patients receivingchemotherapy between 2020 and 2025 was analyzed using data collected from multicenter electronichealth records(EHRs)and public databases.An intermediate fusion framework was implemented using aTransformer-based architecture,which was compared with LSTM,CNN,and XGBoost models.SHAP(Shapleyadditive explanations)and Grad-CAM were used to improve model interpretability,while performance wasassessed using AUC-ROC(area under the receiver operating characteristic curve),accuracy,sensitivity,specificity,and F1-score.Results:The Transformer-based model achieved the highest performance(AUC=0.93;accuracy=88.5%;sensitivity=85.3%;specificity=90.1%),outperforming conventionalmodels.SHAP analysis identified chemotherapy dosage,nerve magnetic resonance imaging abnormalities,electrocardiogram changes,CYP2C8 mutations,and diabetes as the most influential predictors.Patientswith a high predicted risk of CIPN also demonstrated significantly lower overall survival,indicating a broadersystemic impact of CIPN beyond neurological symptoms.Conclusions:This study provides evidence thatdeep learning models incorporating multimodal data significantly enhance CIPN prediction and have thepotential for clinical implementation.The use of explainable artificial intelligence techniques further supportstheir integration into precision oncology.Future research should focus on multicenter validation,real-timeEHR integration,and the development of neuroprotective strategies for high-risk patients.展开更多
Background:Cultural competence has become increasingly important for Chinese health professionals because of internationalization and the opening up of China to overseas visitors and business as well as a growing awar...Background:Cultural competence has become increasingly important for Chinese health professionals because of internationalization and the opening up of China to overseas visitors and business as well as a growing awareness of the needs of minority groups within China.This study aimed to evaluate a workshop designed to improve cultural competence among Chinese undergraduate nursing students.Methods:A one-group pretest and posttest design was applied.The intervention was a one-day workshop based on transformative learning theory using a variety of teaching strategies.Forty undergraduate nursing students from a university in Wuhan,China selected by convenient sampling received the intervention.Data were collected before the intervention(T1),immediately after the intervention(T2),and 1 month(T3)and 3 months(T4)following the intervention through the Chinese version of Cultural Competence Inventory for Nurses(CCIN).A researcher-designed evaluation form including open-ended questions was also used.Results:Participants’scores by CCIN increased significantly in the total score(p<.001)as well as the components of cultural awareness(p=.003),cultural knowledge(p<.001),cultural understanding(p=.007)and cultural skills(p<.001),but not in cultural respect.This improvement maintained at T3 and T4.Overall,participants were satisfied with the workshop,and the qualitative results supported the effects of this intervention.Conclusions:The one-day workshop was effective in improving nursing students’cultural competence.Replication or further refinement of this workshop is recommended for future research among additional nursing students with diverse backgrounds.展开更多

The purpose of this study is to know how to effectively incorporate business ethics in the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) curriculum at De La Salle University (DLSU), Manila. Discussions in this paper focused on the responses of the students on what teaching strategies may prove to be effective when teaching business ethics subjects. Results of this study revealed that students ranked as the most effective the teaching strategy sub-group learning through ethical discussion and collaborative learning followed by the lecture method. Role playing and/or film viewing was ranked third. Inviting guest speaker for practitioner participation, case study method, personal value journals, and service learning were ranked fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh respectively. It is interesting to note that students ranked last/eighth the teaching strategy using the technology-enhanced learning or E-learning when teaching business ethics. This can give us an idea that even though the current generations of students are adept in using the computer and the Internet, they would still prefer actual classroom experiences in learning ethics courses.展开更多

Two specific disciplines, the computer science and information systems were chosen for the study that closely represents the two ends of a wide range of computing discipline spectrum within the faculties of science, engineering, business and education. The ultimate goal of the above major project, when completed, is to enhance productivity of research training process in computing schools. The foreshadowed problem is that for many of HDR students it takes a long time to produce a specific result expected to be done in much shorter periods of time; and yet at some stage the student seems to get over this hurdle almost overnight. By adopting a threshold concept framework this study extends existing studies in the above area by specifically targeting HDR process in computing disciplines, and provides plans for a wide range of studies that will ideally lead to identification of threshold concept for HDR students in computing disciplines. The issue under development in the current study is how can the process of overcoming the above hurdles be facilitated? Study abroad can be a life-changing experience,enabling greater autonomy,self-confidence,and self-awareness while strengthening linguistic and cultural skills.Yet,many students are daunted by traditional semester-or y...Study abroad can be a life-changing experience,enabling greater autonomy,self-confidence,and self-awareness while strengthening linguistic and cultural skills.Yet,many students are daunted by traditional semester-or year-long programs.In such cases,short-term study abroad is a suitable alternative as it provides international experience with less investment of time and money.In addition,brief sojourns are less intimidating for participants who have never left their country.However,since students are abroad for only a few weeks,it is essential to maximize the impact of the program in terms of personal transformation and development of intercultural competence.Program designers must keep students in the“growth zone”by creating supportive structures that reduce the dissonance caused by unfamiliar surroundings.Specifically,a strong study abroad program should include a cross-cultural orientation before departure,mentoring and reflective journaling while in country,and a guided debriefing after return.In addition,appropriate assessment tools should be selected to measure both student progress and program effectiveness.展开更多

As the sixth-generation(6G)mobile communication network evolves toward a satellite-terrestrial integrated architecture,Low Earth Orbit(LEO)satellite systems have become a crucial component of Integrated Satellite-Terr...As the sixth-generation(6G)mobile communication network evolves toward a satellite-terrestrial integrated architecture,Low Earth Orbit(LEO)satellite systems have become a crucial component of Integrated Satellite-Terrestrial Networks(ISTNs)due to their cost efficiency and wide-area coverage.However,in the context of spectrum sharing,ISTNs face significant challenges,including complex Co-Channel Interference(CCI)and dynamically varying traffic demands.To address these issues,this paper proposes a satellite-terrestrial collaborative user access selection algorithm that combines Reverse Matching(RM)with Deep Reinforcement Learning(DRL).By incorporating an interference threshold within the scheduling framework,the algorithm effectively decouples the strong interdependencies between satellite and terrestrial resources.On the satellite system,a Transformer-based model employing multi-head attention is introduced to capture the spatiotemporal correlations between beams and users.On the terrestrial system,a user access scheme based on RM is proposed,which adjusts the uplink-downlink spectrum association between satellite and terrestrial systems to transform interference from base stations to satellite users into inter-user interference,thereby enhancing terrestrial communication performance.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms benchmark schemes in terms of system throughput and user satisfaction.展开更多

摘要In recent years there has been a proliferation of studies demonstrating the value of teaching abroad as much for its benefits for the training and professional development of these teachers,as for its impact and beneficial effects on students.This article uses transformative learning as a theoretical framework to interpret the achievements associated with the experience of teaching abroad,and to identify and analyze different motivational factors,adjustments,changes,challenges,and perspectives of Chinese teachers linked to a Confucius Institute in Spain,through a qualitative analysis of narratives elicited through in-depth interviews and focus groups.It highlights the role and potential of the transnational,intercultural experience of these teachers as authentic actors in the part played by the Confucius Institutes in language teaching and the promotion of Chinese culture,indicating many issues including language difficulties,professional adjustment,ideas about education,beliefs of teachers and the management of the program.

摘要Our voluntary project ran in different groups of adults (healthy, depressed, schizophrenic, and clients with anxiety disorders). The study is based on analysis of personal counseling experience, where literature was used as a tool to disclose client's personal meanings. During our sessions, clients were observed phenomenologically, and their speach was written down. Reflecting on the qualitative data of transformative learning in language arts, we developed techniques for facilitation and disclosure of personal meanings. Grounded theory was used for data generalization: Personal educational insights and its comparison with other researchers' theoretical insights were the basis to develop the methodical system for psychological guidance and counseling and to explain it. We revealed that focus on personally important meanings during discussion after literature reading has influence on the mental state of personality and deepens the interactions with the literature art, so we suggest a spiral model to explain the methodical system of our method. Transformative learning in language arts as a method of guidance and counseling can be understood as spiritual motion by spirale. It has three levels: (1) art level (interaction with the literature); (2) psychology level (counseling); and (3) art level (interaction with the same peace of literature as in the beginning of the session, poetic summary of the session). Levels (1) and (3) mean interaction with literature art, but at the third level, this interaction has new quality, because personality has better perception of Self and more ability to connect personal meanings and literature wisdom. At the first level, we have direction from literature to Personality. At the third level, we have direction from the Self (Speaking from Within) to literature. Disclosure of personally important meanings is a key to self-understanding and poetical thinking; our developed methodical system reduces emotional tension and strengthens interconnectedness between inner and outer world and improves poetical understanding. In this paper, the methodical system of transformative learning and guidance is discussed.
摘要Strengthening moral learning may become available to us by bringing phronesis and transformative learning in a common theoretical space. For both Aristotle and Mezirow, the exercise of morality, or rising to the standard of moral choice, decision, and action, is not the result of an intuitive achievement or a sudden understanding of a morally demanding situation but a lifelong affair. Our strategy here addresses three aims: Firstly, to invoke and reclaim the endemic bond between education in the broader sense of paideia and the significant role that reeds to be re-ascribed to moral education. This allows a turn towards qualitative features and makes room for an inclusion of moral education, or values education, within education. Secondly, to portray the exercise of autonomy, choice, and judgment as a result of paideutic development; both theories share the assumption that moral learning rests on constant reflection upon past experiences and the zetesis of future goals. Thirdly, to focus on the way one reclaims the right to exercise judgment, whenever this is required. A joint study of the two theories may enlighten the content of this lifelong reflective procedure.

摘要The growing use of lithium-ion batteries in electric transportation and grid-scale storage systems has intensified the need for accurate and highly generalizable state-of-health(SOH)estimation.Conventional approaches often suffer from reduced accuracy under dynamically uncertain state-of-charge(SOC)operating ranges and heterogeneous aging stresses.This study presents a unified SOH estimation framework that integrates physics-informed modeling,subspace identification,and Transformer-based learning.A reduced-order model is derived from simplified electrochemical dynamics,providing an interpretable and computationally efficient representation of battery behavior.Subspace identification across a wide SOC and SOH range yields degradation-sensitive features,which the Transformer uses to capture long-range aging dynamics via multi-head self-attention.Experiments on LiFePO4 cells under joint-cell training show consistently accurate SOH estimation,with a maximum error of 1.39%,demonstrating the framework’s effectiveness in decoupling SOC and SOH effects.In cross-cell validation,where training and validation are performed on different cells,the model maintains a maximum error of 2.06%,confirming strong generalization to unseen aging trajectories.Comparative experiments on LiFePO4and public LiCoO2datasets confirm the framework’s cross-chemistry applicability.By extracting low-dimensional,physically interpretable features via subspace identification,the framework significantly reduces training cost while maintaining high SOH estimation accuracy,outperforming conventional data-driven models lacking physical guidance.
摘要The paper discusses the potential to revolutionise education by integrating gamification, Artificial Intelligence (AI) andfamily-school collaboration to drive motivation, engagement and learning among students. Gamification using game-like featuressuch as competition, rewards and challenges generate intrinsic motivation and retention in students. AI devices and wearablessupport learning via monitoring student growth, engagement and moods. Families and school alliances extend these ripples byestablishing a nurturing community between school and home. The study is a mixed-methods study consisting of pre- and postexperimentquestionnaires, interviews and focus groups with 300 high school students randomly assigned to experimental andcontrol groups. Quantitative data from regression and ANOVA show the experimental group experiencing a dramatic boost inmotivation (+35.3%), interest and academic performance. These findings highlight the importance of gamified and AI-basedlearning environments with good family-school partnerships. These findings offer concrete suggestions for teachers, parents andpolicymakers on fostering engaging, supportive and tech-enabled learning environments.

摘要Accurate genotyping and prognosis of glioma patients present significant clinical challenges,often dependent on subjective judgement and insufficient scientific evidence.This study aims to develop a robust,noninvasive preoperative multi-modal MRIbased transformer learning model to predict IDH genotyping and glioma prognosis.This multi-centre study included 563 glioma patients to develop an interpretable classification model utilising various preoperative imaging sequences,including T1-weighted,T2-weighted,fluid-attenuated inversion recovery,contrast-enhanced T1-weighted,and diffusion-weighted imaging.The model employs a multi-task learning framework to extract and fuse radiomic,deep learning,and clinical features for IDH genotyping and glioma prognosis.Additionally,a multi-modal transformer strategy is integrated to analyse structural and functional MRI,thereby enhancing model performance.Experimental results indicate that the model demonstrates superior performance,surpassing previous research and other state-of-the-art methods.The model achieves an AUC of 91.40% in the IDH genotyping task and 93.37% in the glioma prognosis task.Group analysis reveals that the model exhibits higher sensitivity to IDH-mutant cases and more accurately identifies low-risk groups compared to medium-or high-risk groups.This study aims to achieve accurate IDH genotyping and glioma prognosis through effective classification method,offering valuable diagnostic insights for clinical practice and expediting treatment decisions.

摘要The structured low-rank model for parallel magnetic resonance(MR)imaging can efficiently reconstruct MR images with limited auto-calibration signals.To improve the reconstruction quality of MR images,we integrate the joint sparsity and sparsifying transform learning(JTL)into the simultaneous auto-calibrating and k-space estimation(SAKE)structured low-rank model,named JTLSAKE.The alternate direction method of multipliers is exploited to solve the resulting optimization problem,and the optimized gradient method is used to improve the convergence speed.In addition,a graphics processing unit is used to accelerate the proposed algorithm.The experimental results on four in vivo human datasets demonstrate that the reconstruction quality of the proposed algorithm is comparable to that of JTL-based low-rank modeling of local k-space neighborhoods with parallel imaging(JTL-PLORAKS),and the proposed algorithm is 46 times faster than the JTL-PLORAKS,requiring only 4 s to reconstruct a 200×200 pixels MR image with 8 channels.
摘要The author will present a model of self-development in crisis based on the transformation theory. Change in a frame of reference during a crisis contributes to self-development. This model will contribute to producing a fundamental method for transforming life narratives in times of crisis and for supporting personality development. The mastery of a crisis can contribute to increasing the complexity of the meaning-making system and the significance-making system, which for their part again favors constructive patterns of mastery in dealing with crises.
摘要In order to help technical/business writing students transfer their authentic learning experience to service learning practice, this study explores the relationship between authentic learning and service learning through a course research project at a small public university in southwestem Oklahoma, USA. The participants, a small group of technical writing students, engaged in writing a proposal targeting a real-life local problem as well as finding a solution. The study shows that authentic learning, such as writing the proposal for a real-world problem, can generate a potential solution while the service learning portion of the assignment (such as working with the community) can provide a specific real-life location for resolving the problem. The study also shows that the authentic learning experience can inspire the students to move further to serve the community and when students volunteer to help the local community implement the solution, a bridge between the authentic learning and service learning can be built, which can then lead to students' enhancement of all round real-life skills and of a sense of serving the community. Finally, the implications of the study for English language teaching in an authentic leaming context also will be discussed.
摘要The uncertainty of postmodern world is a common belief. This uncertainty influences citizens in all aspects of their lives (personal, professional, social, etc.). The question arises intensively: How can people be prepared for this continuous changing? One of the suggestions presented in current literature is the development of critical reflection Educational environment can play a major role in this domain. The need for the development of critical reflection is especially noted in the higher education framework. Universities can become a "holding" environment for transformation. This study underlines the importance of preparing young students as future professionals and citizens, by developing their critical reflection. A practical method is discussed and concerns the use and benefits of the aesthetic experience in a transformative learning procedure. The research presented here is based on the application of this method and aims to the reinforcement of specific dimensions of adulthood in a university environment. The application was carried out on students of the department of educational studies at a Greek regional university. One of the topics analyzed through art was the notion of "useful knowledge" and was part of a wider range of applications that concern the process of learning

摘要The rapid development of artificial intelligence(AI)is accelerating the digital transformation of higher education.Today,“AI+Education”has become a key feature of Education Informatization 2.0 Action Plan in China.This study presents practical experiences in applying AI to programming courses.First,the global trends in AI-powered teaching and learning are analyzed.Key challenges in programming education that can be addressed by AI are then identified.Focusing on common teaching problems,an introductory programming course is used to demonstrate the construction of a course engine powered by large language models.This engine enables the creation of intelligent courses,driving innovation in teaching scenes,and transforming both teaching and learning methods.The exploration then extends to the design of AI-enhanced teaching and learning environments,featuring AI teaching assistants and AI learning companions.These tools provide scalable,differentiated,and personalized support for teachers.They also enable one-on-one,adaptive,and customized learning experiences for students.An integrated learning support system is proposed,which combines courses,training,competitions,testing,evaluation,and certification.The goal is to build a smart teaching ecosystem with knowledge services,personalized learning,and instructional support,as well as to realize the entire teaching process of“course–training–competition–testing–evaluation”empowered by AI for all elements and all time periods.Furthermore,the intelligent&interactive virtual massive open online courses(IMOOCs)for C programming is developed.A new hybrid teaching model based on IMOOC,which integrates virtual and real elements and promotes crossdomain collaboration,has also been explored.Potential risks of overreliance on AI tools are discussed,together with strategies to address them.Finally,future trends and challenges in“AI+Higher Education”are examined.The study argues that AI will unlock new possibilities for reshaping how higher education is delivered and experienced.
摘要Background:Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy(CIPN)is a common and debilitating adverseeffect of cancer treatment that substantially impairs patients’quality of life and may lead to dose reductionor treatment discontinuation.Traditional prediction models based on single-modal data have shown limitedaccuracy in clinical settings.Aim:This study aimed to develop and evaluate a deep learning-based predictivemodel for CIPN by integrating multimodal data,including clinical,genomic,biosignal,wearable device,and imaging information.Methods:A retrospective and prospective cohort of cancer patients receivingchemotherapy between 2020 and 2025 was analyzed using data collected from multicenter electronichealth records(EHRs)and public databases.An intermediate fusion framework was implemented using aTransformer-based architecture,which was compared with LSTM,CNN,and XGBoost models.SHAP(Shapleyadditive explanations)and Grad-CAM were used to improve model interpretability,while performance wasassessed using AUC-ROC(area under the receiver operating characteristic curve),accuracy,sensitivity,specificity,and F1-score.Results:The Transformer-based model achieved the highest performance(AUC=0.93;accuracy=88.5%;sensitivity=85.3%;specificity=90.1%),outperforming conventionalmodels.SHAP analysis identified chemotherapy dosage,nerve magnetic resonance imaging abnormalities,electrocardiogram changes,CYP2C8 mutations,and diabetes as the most influential predictors.Patientswith a high predicted risk of CIPN also demonstrated significantly lower overall survival,indicating a broadersystemic impact of CIPN beyond neurological symptoms.Conclusions:This study provides evidence thatdeep learning models incorporating multimodal data significantly enhance CIPN prediction and have thepotential for clinical implementation.The use of explainable artificial intelligence techniques further supportstheir integration into precision oncology.Future research should focus on multicenter validation,real-timeEHR integration,and the development of neuroprotective strategies for high-risk patients.
摘要Background:Cultural competence has become increasingly important for Chinese health professionals because of internationalization and the opening up of China to overseas visitors and business as well as a growing awareness of the needs of minority groups within China.This study aimed to evaluate a workshop designed to improve cultural competence among Chinese undergraduate nursing students.Methods:A one-group pretest and posttest design was applied.The intervention was a one-day workshop based on transformative learning theory using a variety of teaching strategies.Forty undergraduate nursing students from a university in Wuhan,China selected by convenient sampling received the intervention.Data were collected before the intervention(T1),immediately after the intervention(T2),and 1 month(T3)and 3 months(T4)following the intervention through the Chinese version of Cultural Competence Inventory for Nurses(CCIN).A researcher-designed evaluation form including open-ended questions was also used.Results:Participants’scores by CCIN increased significantly in the total score(p<.001)as well as the components of cultural awareness(p=.003),cultural knowledge(p<.001),cultural understanding(p=.007)and cultural skills(p<.001),but not in cultural respect.This improvement maintained at T3 and T4.Overall,participants were satisfied with the workshop,and the qualitative results supported the effects of this intervention.Conclusions:The one-day workshop was effective in improving nursing students’cultural competence.Replication or further refinement of this workshop is recommended for future research among additional nursing students with diverse backgrounds.
摘要In a constantly changing environment, accountants must not only acquire technical accounting knowledge and skills, but also acquire integrity, objectivity and the skills that enable them to take a firm stand in difficult situations. The purpose of this study is to know how to effectively incorporate business ethics in the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) curriculum at De La Salle University (DLSU), Manila. Discussions in this paper focused on the responses of the students on what teaching strategies may prove to be effective when teaching business ethics subjects. Results of this study revealed that students ranked as the most effective the teaching strategy sub-group learning through ethical discussion and collaborative learning followed by the lecture method. Role playing and/or film viewing was ranked third. Inviting guest speaker for practitioner participation, case study method, personal value journals, and service learning were ranked fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh respectively. It is interesting to note that students ranked last/eighth the teaching strategy using the technology-enhanced learning or E-learning when teaching business ethics. This can give us an idea that even though the current generations of students are adept in using the computer and the Internet, they would still prefer actual classroom experiences in learning ethics courses.
摘要This study describes the planning process of a major multi-disciplinary research project that aims to enhance effectiveness of the Higher Degree Research (HDR) training process in computing-related disciplines by applying the threshold concept theories and framework. Two specific disciplines, the computer science and information systems were chosen for the study that closely represents the two ends of a wide range of computing discipline spectrum within the faculties of science, engineering, business and education. The ultimate goal of the above major project, when completed, is to enhance productivity of research training process in computing schools. The foreshadowed problem is that for many of HDR students it takes a long time to produce a specific result expected to be done in much shorter periods of time; and yet at some stage the student seems to get over this hurdle almost overnight. By adopting a threshold concept framework this study extends existing studies in the above area by specifically targeting HDR process in computing disciplines, and provides plans for a wide range of studies that will ideally lead to identification of threshold concept for HDR students in computing disciplines. The issue under development in the current study is how can the process of overcoming the above hurdles be facilitated? How can the productivity of various resources utilized during the above long and frustrating waiting periods be increased by shortening the waiting times?
摘要Study abroad can be a life-changing experience,enabling greater autonomy,self-confidence,and self-awareness while strengthening linguistic and cultural skills.Yet,many students are daunted by traditional semester-or year-long programs.In such cases,short-term study abroad is a suitable alternative as it provides international experience with less investment of time and money.In addition,brief sojourns are less intimidating for participants who have never left their country.However,since students are abroad for only a few weeks,it is essential to maximize the impact of the program in terms of personal transformation and development of intercultural competence.Program designers must keep students in the“growth zone”by creating supportive structures that reduce the dissonance caused by unfamiliar surroundings.Specifically,a strong study abroad program should include a cross-cultural orientation before departure,mentoring and reflective journaling while in country,and a guided debriefing after return.In addition,appropriate assessment tools should be selected to measure both student progress and program effectiveness.
摘要Research on international students’learning experiences pays much less attention to those studying semester and/or year-long programmes in a country that differs significantly from their home country with respect to culture and the education system.Adopting transformative learning theory as the theoretical framework,this paper explores the learning effectiveness of students on such programme in a Chinese and in a UK university.It analyses the narratives of 27 students in relation to their cognitive and behavioural activities and also their self-reflective and collaborative reflective activities.The findings indicate that these students only partially achieved transformative learning.The main reasons are:(1)the duration of this type of programme was not long enough to achieve a full transformation and(2)both host universities did not include reflection in the learning process properly.This paper makes a contribution to cross-border learning literature in the Chinese and the UK contexts.

摘要As the sixth-generation(6G)mobile communication network evolves toward a satellite-terrestrial integrated architecture,Low Earth Orbit(LEO)satellite systems have become a crucial component of Integrated Satellite-Terrestrial Networks(ISTNs)due to their cost efficiency and wide-area coverage.However,in the context of spectrum sharing,ISTNs face significant challenges,including complex Co-Channel Interference(CCI)and dynamically varying traffic demands.To address these issues,this paper proposes a satellite-terrestrial collaborative user access selection algorithm that combines Reverse Matching(RM)with Deep Reinforcement Learning(DRL).By incorporating an interference threshold within the scheduling framework,the algorithm effectively decouples the strong interdependencies between satellite and terrestrial resources.On the satellite system,a Transformer-based model employing multi-head attention is introduced to capture the spatiotemporal correlations between beams and users.On the terrestrial system,a user access scheme based on RM is proposed,which adjusts the uplink-downlink spectrum association between satellite and terrestrial systems to transform interference from base stations to satellite users into inter-user interference,thereby enhancing terrestrial communication performance.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms benchmark schemes in terms of system throughput and user satisfaction.
